I don't usually write 5 star Yelp reviews unless it's honestly truly deserved, but this halal BBQ spot absolutely deserved one. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was warm and welcoming. The owner, Danish, came out to greet us personally and was honestly one of the sweetest people I've met in the restaurant biz. You can tell he genuinely loves what he does and cares about every customer who walks through the door. The cashier Nathan was just as friendly and super helpful with recommendations. Based on his suggestion, we ordered the brisket with the spicy sauce, and WOW... hands down some of the best brisket I've ever had. Perfectly tender, super flavorful, and that spicy sauce just took it to another level without being overwhelming. Overall, the food was amazing, but the service and kindness from Danish and the staff made the whole experience even better. You can feel the passion and pride in every part of this place. First time ordering from here. And I definitely can not recommend this place. The only nice thing I can say is the the counter guy was polite. So I ordered the 2-meat plate ( sliced brisket, beef sausage, bbq beans, Mac n' cheese, w/extra corn muffin). So let's get to what was wrong. First it cost $24.95, not worth the price.. Portion size very small. Sausage isn't cooked all the way, corn muffin was cold like it came out of the refrigerator. Mac n' cheese tasted bland and watery. Didn't eat the beans because after tasting the terrible sausage and Mac, I loss my appetite. It was only one person sitting in the restaurant, that should've been a red flag for me. Dickeys definitely needs to take their name of this restaurant. It's messing up their brand. Corporate needs to do a quality control check. read more

This is halal BBQ. I had chicken BBQ with two sides. I thought the food was good although I completely missed some of the options below the main menu after I ordered. They constructed a patio out front and are preparing to offer hookah. I think the location is a little off the beaten path so there isn't much traffic through here. Hookah may be a game changer. We enjoyed a couple crispy chicken sandwiches and loaded brisket fries on a quiet Friday night. This place is both a Dickey's BBQ but also has a Krispy Bird Hot Chicken Wings location inside. I disagree with the other folks that disparage the food. We thought the chicken inside the sandwich was nice and crunchy, albeit mild when we asked for spicier chicken. We also ordered the loaded brisket fries, which came truly loaded, with a nice balance of cheese, meat, sauces, lettuce, pickles, and more. I thought the brisket was tender and a good amount for what we paid for (around ~$12), and the ratio of toppings to fries to sauce was just the right amount. As others have mentioned, this place is on the pricier side for what you get, hence knocking it down to 3 stars. Otherwise, I would have given it 4 stars based on the food (especially the fries!) alone. Parking was easy, the restaurant was clean, and service by the gentleman at the counter was fantastic. We ordered brisket sandwiches. Lean cut.. which we paid xtra for the lean cut. I asked for chopped brisket.. received cubed fatty, tough brisket. Both sandwiches were cold when we received them. My husband ordered the sliced lean cut. He received fatty, tough brisket. We are not impressed I would not refer Dickeys to anyone for BBQ anything. We used the online ordering feature on their website. When we arrived, we were told they were out of some of the things we had ordered. We asked for a refund for the things they didn't have. The kid behind the counter said he was relatively new and didn't know how to do that. Okay, we asked for a manager or someone else that might know how to do it but we were told it was just him and the guy cooking the food. Okay, we asked to just sub the items with something else then. I will say the kid was young and very polite even though he clearly wasn't trained fully. We got a two meat plate, okra, mac & cheese, bbq beans, toast and various desserts. The portions sizes were quite small. Definitely not worth the $100 we paid. The beans were good but felt like they might be Bush's or generic. The okra was flimsy but had a nice flavor. The breading was more cornmeal-y than I'm used to. It was fine. Mac & cheese was terribly watery and akin to the freezer single-serve kind. Inedible. The "mousse" we ordered was WET cake. I couldn't eat it. The blondie-brownie was crumbly but not how a dessert of this nature should be. Also inedible. The smoked turkey was fine. Wasn't as dry as some turkey can be. It didn't have a super smoky flavor but it wasn't missed. Now the brisket was soooooo dry. It was to be the sliced brisket but it was more like shredded and we could barely choke one bite down before calling it. The original sauce tasted like Sweet Baby Ray's or the Slow-simmered Kraft...fine but not worthy of a store front bbq place. Ordering at a register was the new operational process whereas before you used to go down the line and see all the BBQ options. Looking past the register, into the kitchen, you couldn't help but notice the mess. It looked like a tornado blew through. Stuff all over the prep counters. Upon ordering, there were only 4 options of meat. Chicken breast, turkey, brisket and sausage. I chose two, 2 meat plates with 2 sides. For myself brisket and sausage with coleslaw and jalapeño beans. For my wife and kid, brisket and turkey with potato salad along with Mac n cheese. The owner/manager, informed me that the sausage was turkey sausage. Sounded like a warning the way he said it just because he reiterated it again as if he warned me. lol! I also ordered a soda, but his soda machine was down, hence no refills. He offered can/bottle option. I declined and said water will be fine then. Waiting at the register for my cups of water, he said he would bring it to my table. Took 10 minutes for him to bring me one water with ice. I said my wife would like one too, so he just brings an empty cup. I'm like "where do I get the ice?" He states, she wants ice too? Oh my gosh, I'm thinking to myself. I just took the cup, no ice bin in site, filled my wife's cup with warm water. As for the food, we waited about 20 minutes before I started staring into the kitchen. Not a single soul outside of us in the restaurant. Only 2 pickup orders during that time. Probably because of the buy one get one free option for online ordering. Once they noticed the concern on my face, off to the races they were. All my wife and I could hear were the use of microwaves. Unreal! We knew what was coming, yikes! The owner/manager 30 minutes later arrived with our food table side. Seeing my brisket, disappointment settled in. It spoke for itself, hardened dry marbling, a reheated look. Sausage was thinly sliced and looked ill. Sides looked okay. My wife's plate looked the same, her turkey however looked like it came out of a can. Her sides were potato salad and Mac n Cheese. The Mac n cheese "looked good". I had to stick my fork in it first. "Ice cold" seriously! I then checked the other sides and meats. Everything else that was suppose to be hot was room temperature at best. I took the Mac and cheese to the kitchen. The owner tells the lady/cook in spanish about her mistake. Nothing a microwave can't fix! So I waited 3 minutes. Finally got my super hot microwaved Mac. In a new container so it wouldn't burn my hands. Back to the food. Turkey was like rubber. Brisket was edible. Sausage, my wife's face after she tried it! I told her it was terrible. She had to try it for herself! I warned her, the irony. Slaw was a bit too sweet, but okay and the potato salad was okay too, must of been prepackaged, which probably was its saving grace. Warning, the jalapeño beans. The worst ever! Acid mouth wash. Lastly Mac n cheese, my daughter even spit it out after each and every try. She loves her pasta, but not today, she was confused. It was super bland and tasted like pasta right out of the boil. The Bbq sauce was probably the best thing, only because we had to use to mask the food in order to eat it. Still, I only ate 1/2 of my plate. Never B 4 have I not finished my BBQ plate. I never complain from a bad experience, I just never return. This time, because it was so bad, I had to say something. I took the plate to the manager, handed it to him and told him this was the worst BBQ I have ever had! I wished him luck. He apologized with "I'm sorry." Upon getting ready to leave, I felt the need to warn the person walking to order, but hesitated. Damage already had been done as he ordered online. Still then I over heard him claiming he ordered two, buy one get one free he claimed. lol! They forgot to make half his order. Now the waiting game for him too! I give this place 3 months!
