Absolutely the best BBQ on the whole White Mountain! Our family of five wondered in Thursday night and was immediately greeted by the owners and staff along with the aroma of real smoked BBQ. The staff was friendly and answer all questions we had about the different options. Altogether, our family tried the smoked Chicken, pulled pork, turkey, brisket and Kielbasa... clearly no liquid smoke here. The meat was so tender and juicy it was heaven in your mouth for this Southern Girl. One of my daughter's ordered the loaded bake potato (massive perfectly cook potato came with cheese, bacon, green onions and sour cream) with pulled pork and onion tanglers on top. We enjoyed the sides of yeast rolls, coleslaw, mac n cheese, onion tanglers, potato casserole, beans and potato salad... mind-blowing on the quality and flavors of everything. For once, food where you didn't need to drowned in BBQ sauce to enjoy it. On the other hand, no surprise here that even their Original, Spicy and Sweet BBQ sauces were spectacular. Clearly, this establishment is all about the quality of every product they serve. The atmosphere is warm, inviting and spacious. I promise you that you will not be disappointed. I love Dickey's BBQ in the valley and had to try it in Lakeside. It was really good and portions were a good amount in meats. We'll be back!

We ordered to go last night. The shredded pork was very salty and cold, the chicken was dry and cold, the brisket was tough, and they left off one of our sides. Contrary to your Yelp review of Covid awareness, NONE of the staff wore gloves or masks. Very unhappy about that, too. read more

Start at the beggining. I go at 5pm on a Friday and they already out of everything. Like for real? It's barely dinner timevon a Friday, ya'll need to prepare for the day better. I got their pork platter or something like that and they was out of burnt ends. I asked for brisket instead, they was out, so I got the chicken. Then they was out of two of the sides I wanted. They was also out of rolls which are supposed to come with every meal. The sausage was stuffed with jalapeño and cheddar, and still had no flavor. I didn't even know it was possible to have sausage without flavor. The mac and cheese tasted like KFC macaroni, like it wasn't bad but just tasted like generic macaroni anyone could make. I will say I was pleasently surprised by the chicken. Chicken is usually my last option for bbq, but I would go back for the chicken alone. That sucka was tender and juicy and full of flavor. You can add sauce or leave it as it was and it is still fire. I will also say that the jalapeño beans were pretty good. It is hard to mess up beans, and they didn't, it was good. Now the ribs, which should have been the centerpiece of the platter, had barely any meat at all. Plus it seemed like they put on the sauce way to early in the grilling process, or just not at all, so you gotta put the sauce on yourself. And the ribs had hardley any meat. From the first bite, you are already scraping the bone. The sauces were good, but they all tasted the same. It was hard to keep track of which was which. I ended up pretty full before trying the pulled pork, I brought it home. My friend I was with said that it was the best part for him. So I still await in hope that it'll be great. Weird criticism, but it tasted like it needed a pickle with it. I think I just come to expect bbq to come with a pickle. Overall, I would go there again for the chicken. If I can find the right sides with it, then it'll be worth it. It wasn't horrible, but left a lot to be desired. I think the main take away is that BBQ should not be pre cooked. You litterally order when you get in line and by the time you get to the register, it's ready, so I think it could be better and worth the wait for them to cook it after you order. They also have some good looking sandwhiches I would like to try. If the sandwhiches are good, it could become a lunch spot for me. read more

The reviews on this place was split down the middle between our party. Two of us loved our meals, two of us were unhappy. The pulled pork and brisket were really good. The waffle fries were made fresh to order and the rolls were amazing as always. The chicken breast was really dry. The baked potato casserole was very disappointing. It tasted like a really bad mashed potatoes and the Mac and cheese didn't have much flavor either. Some great items, some not so great items. With many barbecue options available up in the mountains, this would not be my first choice. read more

Returned for lunch and had brisket burnt ends and husband had pulled pork burnt ends. Meat was perfectly smoked and moist. Green beans and green salad as sides. Owner is a recent retired veteran and such a warm and genuine person. Love this place and would say it is THE best new restaurant on the mountain. Try it, you will be a return customer too. This Dickeys location was the caterer for my wedding and let's just say I couldn't have imagined anyone else catering our wedding. I am a catering coordinator so my expectations are high and they knocked it out of the park! The owner came to the venue the day before to check out the space and to personally talk to us about the menu. We had a lot of people cancel because of Covid, no money could be refunded which we totally understood so he changed the menu around to fit more of our needs only 1 day before the wedding which once you have product ordered, most restaurants/caterers will not let you do. When it came to day of, his staff was so professional and sweet, we needed someone to pour champagne and they helped us out in a pinch. The owner and staff were so great. Don't let me forget about the food! Everyone was raving about the ribs, brisket and Mac and cheese. My husband and I were so full! I have loved Dickeys Barbecue! Every time we go to the Phoenix valley we will go there and I was so excited to see us get one in Lakeside. We went twice In one week, the food is great but we were overcharged both times. The first time my husband got the special of the day which should have been 10.99 but when we looked at the ticket they charged 13.99. We were already done eating and there was a line so we didn't try to get the reimbursement. Today we ate there again and bought 3 pulled pork sandwiches which they advertised in the paper as a promotional special all during January for 3.00 each. They have on their menu add 2 sides to ANY sandwich make it a plate for 3.00 more so we added the sides to the 3 sandwiches. That in my book would have been 6.00 a plate. They charged 10.00 for each plate! They explained when we ordered the two sides it was a different plate price. So we didn't get the 3.00 special and they wouldn't budge on what they charged. If we would have ordered the sandwich separate from the sides it would have been 9.00 not 10.00. Very disappointed for false advertising and also didn't state you couldn't add sides to discount sandwich. read more
