    2 meat with 2 sides

I was hesitant to stop in and try a BBQ joint ever since I spent some time in Kansas City and have been spoiled by a variety of good BBQ. I didn't know what to expect from BBQ in Middletown Delaware. To my surprise it had the look & feel of a cliche' BBQ joint with rustic woods and industrial man-furnishings complete with the obligatory chalkboard menu and prison tray plates. But this is what one expects in a BBQ joint so I wasn't in any way turned off. It's the meat and the sauce that matters. I chose the 2 meat meal with sides. I asked for my brisket with a bit of burnt ends as I like it that way and the meat-man behind the knife accommodated. My second was the pulled pork. Following with jalapeño baked beans and mac&cheese. Sauces were served on the side. Ok so for franchise BBQ it wasn't bad. The pork wasn't too fatty and wasn't dry it was I good portion. The burnt end brisket was a little dry but that's because I asked for the ends. It had a great taste and worked well once the sauce hit it. Mac was Mac, it was not my moms Mac but no complaints. Jalapeño beans stood up to their name however I am not a "jalapeño hot", I would have preferred more of a sweet hot. I added the sweet and hot bbq sauce in it and THAT made it! The only complaint would be the brick I mean bread. Nothing special about it and was very dry. I would offer a sweet butter or maybe swap out for buttered cornbread. I didn't see there was an option there. Washing it all down with some sweet tea and I had myself some Delaware franchise BBQ. I'll give it a 4 out of 5. It wasn't spectacular but wasn't disappointing.

Pulled BBQ pork, Mac&Cheese, BBQ beans, Creamy Spinach, Cole Slaw, Dinner Roll & my dog begging.

First time here & we weren't disappointed. If you like Mission BBQ, it's the same kind of vibe. We went in to check it out, and we ended up getting takeout platters. $11.99 for a choice of meat and two sides. The food was great! The dinner rolls were surprisingly BUTTERY. Tasted like a pillsbury dinner croissant. The best part is: A free ice cream cone (vanilla soft serve) with every meal bought! Brian was ecstatic, and stole mine. Kids eat free on Sundays with the purchase of adult meals. Definitely check it out! A nice addition to Middletown area. Very casual inside.

    Get the onion tanglers. Yummm

The meat is pretty good, just ok. The sides are AWFUL. I honestly won't be going back unless they start serving home made sides.

I'm glad, because with it being slightly off the 'main drag' in Middletown, we might not have seen it otherwise. We arrived towards the end of the dinner rush hour, and fortunately were seated over by where a musician was playing. It was a busy night, and we were tired and hungry from a day at the faire. As it was busy, there were sportsball games going and the musician playing, shouting was required for discussion and we had some funny misunderstandings YOUR GRAPE IS ON THE MOON? WHAT? Oh, your gravy is a little cool! :) The musician was great, playing lots of 70s and 80s hits, and he seemed to enjoy us singing along and dancing. We are, after all, rennies. We're glad he was enjoying us as much as we were enjoying his music. We got drinks and menus quickly, and our server was attentive without being pushy. After a few minutes looking over the menu, she appeared and we ordered. I got the Stampede Burger, while one of my friends got the Prime Dip sandwich (AKA French Dip), and one got chicken fingers. All came in reasonable time and were quite good, hearty food. So, why the one star off? Dessert. Could we have a brownie sundae? Out of brownies. OK, how about chocolate cake? Out of that, too. Uh...red velvet? Out. Basically everything chocolate. Sigh. Yeah, it was busy but not insane. We ended up not getting dessert, and it was disappointing. Whoever's managing food orders and prep, please do better. Also, if it's not available, it would have been great for the server to say so up front, that way she didn't have to tell us no 3 times. Parking in a private lot, plentiful. We would go again, we just will plan on dessert elsewhere.

I came at around 5 PM, and it was beautiful outside, but a little hot in the sun. The hostess was willing to see me in a table around the corner, where there was a nice breeze. We had a great server, who was very attentive to our needs. People enjoyed the various food offerings, including the pasta, which had a kick to it. I ordered the chicken thighs, which is a rare treat to find on a menu. My only disappointment was that they were a bit overcooked and dried out. Perhaps it was the time of day, but who knows. Other than that, I would come back and try another dish someday.

The burger is cooked to order and the meat is fresh from the Dutch Market's butcher shop. Onion rings are perfect, batter fried and very juicy, taste like Vidalia onions. Some days when the Dutch market is open, they have breakfast all day and quite an extensive breakfast menu. But since I am a fan of a GOOD burger, I always order a hamburger. The restaurant has undergone many changes since the Dutch market opened almost 20 years ago. Now it's a sit-down place near the center back of the market. A chalkboard indicates specials and there is a glass display of desserts in case your gigantic half pound burger wasn't enough for you. Our zippy waitress took good care of us. We'll be back.

Service was great and the order of short-stack pancakes was perfectly cooked. Unlike a good number of restaurants in our area that seem to serve overly spongy or dry pancakes, these were cooked to perfection. Although they give you the option of paying extra for VT maple syrup, the syrup served hit the spot. Will be coming back to try lunch and dinner. P.S. very hard to walk out of the Market without buying other freshly made treats/food.
