Ran across Dickey's on accident. I'm glad I did. The food was amazing. I got a sampling of 3 meats. Ribs, sliced brisket and chicken. All of it was right on the money. Great taste, flavor. The bbq sauces were thick ( hot was just right ). I thought the sides were great! Potato Salad (Mayo) and twice baked mashed potatoes (awesome) The owners came out and actually sat with us watching The NBA Finals. Starting talking to them (husband and wife) such nice people. I want to start by saying that I generally enjoy Dickey's BBQ and have eaten at locations in several different states without any issues. Unfortunately, this was the first location--out of at least 15 I've visited--where the service was disappointing. While placing my order, the employee at the window seemed unfamiliar with the menu. He wasn't rude, but he appeared uninterested and gave the impression that it might have been his first day. I ordered two combo meals with drinks, but I only received one drink. When I pointed it out, I was told I had to purchase the second drink separately and ended up paying nearly $5 for a sweet tea that should have been included with the combo. Additionally, the brisket combo I ordered came with a very small portion of fries--it looked like the leftovers from the bottom of the batch. The sandwich itself tasted as if it had been sitting under a heat lamp for hours. I chose not to raise the issue at the time because I didn't feel confident it would be understood or resolved. I understand this is a fast-food BBQ restaurant, but I still believe every job deserves someone's best effort. This experience was just not up to the standard I've come to expect from this brand. And will probably never go back to this location. read more

Very disappointed in Dickeys. This place was recommended to me and I figured I would try it out. I got a Kabasa sandwich which was pretty good. And I also ordered a cup of chili. This is what I got compared to what is supposed to be in the chili. I know it's not gonna look exactly like the picture online however, what I got looks more like a cup of crap. There is no cheese or onions and the cup is filled halfway. Not to mention, it looks like they scraped it from the bottom of the pot. I can't believe they would actually serve this to a customer. Ordered 3 baked taters loaded with chopped brisket, no chives. it seems that they must have split the toppings amoungst the 3 instead of getting three seperate. I have never gotten such a lack of toppings before. barely any butter, sourcream, cheese, of chopped brisket. this turned into the driest baked tater I have ever had. Had to add butter and cheese when I got them home. Sadly, was out of sour cream and chopped brisket. I usually order twice a week, but I will only give you one more chance. I haven't had Dickey's since I actually lived in Texas. I got a chopped brisket sandwich which tasted great except the meat was cold. The sides of bbq bean and friend okra we're hot and delicious. Other than the cold sandwich, my only other complaint is that the "bug yellow cup" doesn't fit in my cup holder. I guess it's time for a bigger car. Lol read more

Ordered a couple of chopped brisket sandwiches but after two bites we threw them in the trash as they were not edible. Instead of chopped brisket, the meat was large chunks (half-inch size or bigger) of tough, stringy meat that was about 50% fat. Wasted $30 for the total for two meals. Will never go back to this location and cannot recommend this place. They owe me $30. read more

I've been eating here for years and I guess I forget to check in. First, the service is excellent. The staff greet you when you enter. You order at the counter. All the food is excellent. Fried okra and jalapeño beans are my favorite sides. The smokehouse salad had lots of meat and the lettuce is always fresh. They tend to put more dressing on than I like so I get it on the side. Was getting emails and text from the corporate office on specials being offered by Dickies. Had pulled pork sandwich for $2.99 as well as brisket sandwich for $4.99. Called location in Norman making sure they had them at the price posted by corporate. They said that they did not as they were a franchise location. Called Dickeys office and was told that 90% of franchisees honor the specials but have a few that don't. Looks like Norman is one of the 10%. read more

I'm new to Norman, but have visited the drive thru here, a handful of times. The food is good, no complaints there, but I am disappointed that the window staff does not wear masks, and when they ask for your payment card, instead of returning it to you with a receipt, it is returned to you on a clipboard with a pen, which you must use to sign the receipt and hand it all back to them. In this day and age of Covid 19, I don't feel comfortable with that and the non-masked window staff. read more

Food is nothing special, customer service is terrible. I ordered through DoorDash and when my driver got there she was told they were out of buns for my 2 sliders I had ordered. When asked if I could just do one regular sized sandwich instead (roughly the same amount of meat, different bun), they refused because of a $2 price difference. Instead they would only refund the money for the sliders and said I could reorder, which did no good because with DoorDash they can not take a new order until the old one is delivered. So my only option was to find something else on the menu the exact same price (even though they had the food I wanted..just different bread) or get the sliders refunded. I got the refund. By the time I finally got my partial food order delivered after this long ordeal, it was no longer warm and they forgot my barbecue sauce. Definitely will not be ordering from them again. read more

Our visits here are sparse, but when we do visit, we're probably ordering a Baker w/Tanglers (potato loaded with your choice of meat, fried onion strings, cheese, and sauce).Today, it is rainy and unseasonably cool, and a hearty potato will easily provide dinner tonight and another meal or two the remainder of the week. I live near this location and although I've never seen evidence of them doing a lot of business, I was curious. I now understand the lack of cars parked near this thing. I paid $14 for three medium sized ribs that although blackened on the outside (not appealing) were at least flavorful and tender, and three small pieces of sauce-covered soot with a bone at the center. The "roll" was cold, dried on top, but drenched in butter product (it was *not* butter) on the bottom. I ordered two servings of cole slaw as my sides for the meal, and this was the kicker. There was NO DRESSING ON EITHER OF THE COLE SLAW PORTIONS I WAS GIVEN with my meal. I don't mean there was too little dressing; I mean there was NONE. I got two cardboard containers of PLAIN CHOPPED CABBAGE. All bbq joints think their product is so fantastic no one will notice the burned rib ends or the occasional turned cole slaw cup they slip into the drive-through if the customer isn't a regular, I get that. But this place goes above and beyond hubris. I predict we'll have a liquor store or maybe a drive-through dry cleaners operating out the current Dickey's in Norman. Probably as soon as next fall, or maybe even the middle of summer. read more

This is easily the best barbecue in all of OK. Not just because of the food, but the service, too. Every single person is friendly, the food feels like home, and the COVID-19 precautions are fantastically done. The owner is the kindest man I've ever encountered and has a lovely family. Really good barbecue, but even better is their over-the-top friendliness and customer service. If you don't like a side, exchange it for free and they're happy to do it. I'm not a huge BBQ fan, so this isn't so much about the food but the service. I had a big order for 20 people kind of last minute, and the staff was so awesome. Have to say I avoided stopping for the longest time as Van's isn't too far away. What a mistake! The rib dinner with two sides was bountiful with fall-off-the-bone pork ribs and a novel bun. The portions are appropriately sized and the staff is quick and cheerful. read more

It was ok. The prices seemed high for the amount of what I was getting. It seemed every item was nickel and dimed. I also thought the food was average and really not worth it. You have to get all of the food and fixings your self so what are my prices paying for?? I went when they first opened but they may be better now. I was not impressed, so we haven't been back since.
