Another salesperson states I need to contact customer service but they don't answer the phone or call back either. I am at wits end rn. The floor is mostly laid but missing 1 box. I have a deadline of June 30 which is long passed now. On another note, my last purchase at S&G came in on time but the S&G installation was a fiasco. I swore i'd never go back. I didn't listen myself because this was just an order pick up. Apparently they can't do that either.

For background, I got several quotes for a 29 steps stairway flooring project and potential vendors either didn't respond after initially reaching out or the companies never responded after stating they would provide quotes when asked. That wasn't the case for VM Flooring. They were very communicative from the beginning. I also experienced vendors stating the job would take 1-3 days whereas VM flooring took about a week and 3 days. Why? Because they focus on quality, the details and not rushing. I can only imagine how terrible the end result would have been had I gone with vendors who said the 29 step stairway project would take less than a week. I was also able to buy my materials directly from VM Flooring which made things easier as well. I've worked with companies that outsourced the work to non experts in the field and it's been a disaster. This company keeps everything in house: who you see come to do the work are the ones who will actually do the work. Anatoly completed my stairway, he is a genius, and a true expert in the field, licensed and bonded. Be weary of individuals who come to complete the quote for any project, and then on the day the project starts, you never see the person again, as they outsource the labor to non experts. I would work with Jack and Anatoly in a heartbeat because of several reasons: they treated my home with care, even my anxious cat loved them, were safe (texted me whenever someone they didn't recognize came to the home), made sure the door was locked (texted me), and just so amazing to work with throughout the week and a half. However, once installation started, things changed significantly. The crew arrived late every day -- typically 30 minutes to an hour and a half -- without any prior notice. Communication with the contractor during the project was difficult to maintain. The project was quoted as taking 1-3 days but ended up taking 6 days. While some of the delay was due to necessary leveling work, the first day consisted only of carpet removal with less than 4 hours of actual work. The flooring itself looks great. However, the finished work left several issues: gaps along the baseboards, paint damage on the walls, and pink staining in multiple areas. One gap measured nearly 1/4 inch and was only addressed after I raised it myself-- it was not proactively caught or fixed by the crew. Additional smaller gaps remain unresolved. The walls and baseboards were noticeably more damaged after installation than before. The initial impression was positive, which made the overall experience all the more disappointing. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company.

Value was there, and everyone we dealt with seemed authentic, relaxed, with no "sales pitch" and no "artificial" tone. Their installers came out and did a wonderful, professional job. We couldn't be happier with the end result. I deal with a lot of home improvement vendors throughout the Bay Area because of my line of work. I'm keeping Diablo Flooring at the top of my flooring list.

The store staff were very helpful navigating us through the selection process questions and answers. Our installer Alberto worked long hours past 5 pm installation day to complete this job. The pattern layout was perfect and I highly recommend him. I don't recall who picked up, but they picked up very unprofessionally. Told the woman who we had talked to on Saturday and was immediately followed up with "She's not in today"... Okay. Didn't ask or care, we just want to put our order through. Anyways, we said that's okay and just wanted to make our purchase. The lady then acts like we're forcing her to do something out her scope of work. She then mispronounces our last name followed up with an "okay" in a rude tone. And then after being corrected, she gets upset and says that she doesn't want to talk to us anymore and that someone else will call us back. No thanks! We'll take our business elsewhere.
