The owner Alison Lagares is a pleasure to work with. Unlike other contractors I reached out through yelp's estimate program, he actually provided me with an estimate based on my measurements. I really appreciated this, since it does not usually require a physical inspection to provide a rough estimate. I had even sent pictures with my measurements. His price was very reasonable. Although he had to do a lot more work than anticipated due to unleveled flooring once the carpet was ripped out, in total (material and labor), I only ended up paying about $800 over the initial he gave me before seeing the site. Alison and his team recently replaced the carpet on our second floor and stairs with engineered wood and we are so happy with the entire experience and the final product. First, Alison is extremely responsive...from replying to the request to provide a quote, coming out to take a look at our house, to providing the quote all the way through the entire install process. I had contacted several other companies for quotes, many of who didn't even respond, to two that came out and took measurements but never even followed up with a quote. Alison always responded to every email I sent within a timely manner. He was also able to help negotiate the price of our materials down, saving us a few extra hundred dollars. During the install, he and his team arrived on time each morning and were incredibly professional leaving our house clean and livable for the evening. We have a floating staircase that several other installers said would be too difficult to do and suggested we close off the staircase, but Alison was able to do it beautifully. We worked with Lagares Flooring to raise a "recessed" living room floor and replace all the tile in our entryway and kitchen with LVP. Our experience with them was fantastic from beginning to end. Carlos came out promptly to give a quote, walking me through all the details of the job. They sent a detailed and competitive quote out within a few days. To my amazement, the team completed the entire job in just four days, removing the existing flooring, demolishing the tile, scraping it down, building up a brand new floor with framing and plywood, reflooring everything, and even adding some add ons we decided spur of the moment like reflooring our bathroom and moving electrical outlets. Thanks to their attentiveness and care, we were able to reuse the majority of the LVP they pulled up, which most other companies said wasn't possible, saving money and resources! They were extremely detail oriented and did an amazing job, the floor is nice and level and even the baseboards and trims were all installed beautifully. Exceeded expectations in every way possible! Alison came to give a quote the day after I contacted him and provided a detailed and clearly itemized quote for the job. He was super easy to work with and always responsive, punctual and able to squeeze our LVT installation within 3 weeks which was great as we needed to get it done quickly to accommodate use of a walker. He even picked up our order at the tile shop and delivered it to the house for us. This review is long overdue as it is well-deserved. Alison and his crew installed about 2100 sq ft of vinyl flooring in our home July 2021 and did an awesome job. They were punctual, efficient (worked fast to complete the project in less than 1 week), thorough (worked diligently to ensure level subfloors before proceeding to the next step), knowledgeable (a few times I asked Alison about some design choices particularly with the molding and in hindsight I realize his recommendations were the right ones), and clean (they cleaned up everyday and organized all their equipment in one corner which was very much appreciated). While installing the floors, the crew noticed that some of the vinyl planks were not connecting properly. I appreciated their honesty and willingness to wait to get new planks that connected and aligned properly. Also, I noticed that the floor supplier mistakenly provided the wrong kind of baseboards. Alison and his crew returned the "wrong" baseboards and installed the ones I wanted. Of note, I picked baseboards that were taller and thicker, so they had to put in extra effort to cut the thicker boards and fit them around the corners. At the end of the project, Alison came back on an extra day to tie up some loose ends and go over extra things that I requested. His crew is also very respectful and Covid-careful. They wore masks everyday on the job. Working with them was very pleasant, and I was actually sad when they were done. I wish I had more floors that they could do! He scheduled his demo and install while I was out of the home and there was not a scratch or trace that anyone had been there. Magically, my beautiful floors were transformed.
