I need to tell you about an experience I had with Troy Bedal store manager at Delta Shores. We went to the store looking for some shoes for my husband everyone at the store was very friendly we ordered shoes for him since they did not have them in stock. A few days later when we received them unfortunately the order was incorrect. We received slides instead of the ultra boost running shoes?! I was upset. We went down to the store and that is when I met Troy. I let him know about my situation and let him know I was very upset. He was very understanding and said he was very sorry the warehouse sent the wrong item. He showed genuine empathy and his demeanor was calm and very understanding. He immediately gave me solutions and that is exactly what I needed to calm down and make me feel like I would be taken care of. Troy immediately said he would make it right and get me the shoes. He reordered the shoes immediately for me with express shipping and gave me a gift card for the inconvenience. Three days later we receive slides again?! Okay this time I'm frustrated but not upset because I have the confidence that Troy will take care of this. We go back to the store to meet with Troy again and we are both in shock that this happened again. This time he is even more understanding and very sincere saying that they made an error at the warehouse but he would resolve this for us. He said for me not to worry because he would take care of it. Troy went above and beyond his duties at the store level to begin an investigation on this for me with customer service. The warehouse emailed us and apologized for the error. Troy called me and asked me to come back to the store to reorder the shoes now for the third time. We did this today. This experience could have ended really messy and losing me as a customer but your employee Troy turned this unfortunate situation into a positive customer experience. Troy demonstrates a very high level of customer satisfaction for his customers. His dedication and overall calm demeanor of allowing me as the customer to vent and patiently listen while giving solutions is what customer service is all about. Tonight my husband and I were looking for new shoes and Nathan was patient with us as we tried on half a dozen shoes. He answered all of our questions and we both purchased a new pair of shoes. Horrible customer service. Wait. No. Non-existent customer service. Went in yesterday to buy some ammo and hit the button asking for assistance. Waited about 10 mins or at least it felt forever. Very clean store. But extremely horrible customer service. Went in to find a indoor golf putting mat, checked online said it was available. We proceeded to the golf area and couldn't locate the specific one so we decided to ask someone. The man working the golf section was sitting down due to a bad ankle, which is fine, but he only pointed us to the area we originally were looking in. I asked if it could possibly be in the back and he said no and that we should just buy the one that was on the floor because it was on sale. I assumed due to his bad ankle he didn't want to walk around so I went to find someone else. I grabbed a guy in the clothing section who proceeded to go to the same shelf that we were looking at. He told me that if it wasn't there they didn't have it but i still had a hard time believing their online store would say multiple were available. I walked towards the other section of golf, and there it was. It's pretty ridiculous that staff do not know their own inventory and aren't willing to help their location get a sale. My boyfriend also saw a sign for free re-gripping. We asked a sales associate that was in the shoe area about the sign who proceeded to walk with us to the sign we saw. On the way there he stated that that sales over and the sign shouldn't be there. Which is fine if it was. We got to the sign and he said "oh I guess it is still going?" As if we made the sign up to begin with. All in all the staff here needs to be better trained. This is exactly why people opt to purchase online rather than deal with the fuckery that comes with going into actual stores. read more

Always nice to have a sporting goods store in the neighborhood. While Dick's has a great selection of gear for any sport you desire, the prices are extremely high and the customer service is terrible. Good luck flagging down an associate and if you're lucky enough to get one they have the worst attitude. Although I do have a surefire way of getting an associates attention now, just go to the clothing section and start looking at shirts that were once folded, an associate will come to you ASAP. All in all nice addition to the area but the high prices and lack of customer service will limit my visits to just browse around. read more

Came here to buy a bike. I found one I really liked here. And I did get here kinda late. I was helped by Andrew the manager. And he refused to sell me the bike because they have to do a safety check which is fine, but he refused because it takes 15 minutes and it was 15 minutes before closing. You would think he would want to sell the bike which was 500 bucks. But because he didn't want to put in the effort and little extra time he didn't sell the bike. Watch out when buying an expensive jersey from here!!!! This store straight sticks the sensor through the middle of the fabric creating an instant snag!!! I informed an older male with glasses, black polo wearing employee (refuse to believe that he was management) and he said "It happens" what a dummy, it happens because you do it!!! When I purchased the jersey 1 day before, he rung me up and I told him that the jerseys in the back were tangled and that he should check it out. The day I come back for an exchange for a jersey without a hole in it, the jerseys were still tangled. Not really surprised!!! Upper leadership should hold this store more accountable. I went to buy a entry level bike and received professional level service. Alex W. is an excellent bicycle technician who helped me with my purchase. He did a very detailed setup on the bicycle. I could tell that he really knows the ins and outs of bikes. Make sure Alex is there when you want to buy a bike. I guess elk grove is a difficult city for a sporting goods store to stay in business. Gone are sports authority, sport chalet, and now Dicks closed. Hang in there big 5 because after driving to Dicks at delta shores a few times and getting frustrated on multiple levels each time. I will find it difficult to go back. HELP ME, please! Each visit I have had to search out someone to help us. No matter what dept. Shoes, clothing, camping, fitting rooms. Not adequately staffed!!! Shoe dept. One girl working with two customers in kids, five customers waiting for someone, anyone to go back and bring out shoes to try on. I know they have in stock as I scanned them. Nobody knows whos next. Customers leave. 20 mins finally the overwhelmed employee comes over and helps three at a time. Then nobody to unlock a dressing room. Ring ring. This is a huge sporting goods store just like other Dick's locations everywhere. The displays and variety of clothing and sports stuff are impressive and prices tend to be on the high side, just like the old Sports Authority. I like to keep an eye on the specials and coupon offers, and that may be the way to shop here. I also buy a lot of sports clothing online so this is a great place to check out those items live and compare pricing. Just like the Sports Authority stores, there are tons of things on display with few customers wandering about. read more

Breanna made my experience very uncomfortable. I went to a register with items I wanted exchange and the young man told me to go to the floor to pick out the items I would like to replace them with. As I was in the Calia section, Breanna came to check on me but did not say a word, just lingered around suspiciously. I waited in line with my items and roughly 6 people ahead of me. Breanna was socializing with 2 young male employees in the front of the store the entire time. As it was my turn to check out, she quickly opens a new register and tells me that she can help me out. I told her I needed to exchange and my situation but she was rude and distant the entire time and alertly examined my items as if I committed theft. She ended up passing my exchanges to another associate because she didn't know what to do and they took care of it effortlessly while providing acceptable customer service. I had a difference returned to my card so I went back to pick up another item. I waited in line and, low and behold, I get Breanna again. She was was still rude and suspicious and didn't give me an option to get an email receipt so I reacted to her stupidity. Never shopping at this store again. read more

He helped me pick out a new Taylormade driver a few months ago and when I went back today to look for shoes he remembered me and gave me an adjustment tool for the driver. Seems like a very up and down experience at this location. But it is way more organized and cleaner than the other stores. The first time we came here, I was looking for a good knife. Specifically m&p black ops and the gentlemen that helped me was extremely nice. Very knowledgeable with everything. So after our purchase in that section, we went to the shoe department, looking for merrell boots. My husband walked away for a bit so I decided to surprise him by buying him the boots. There were two kids working in that department. It was about an hour and half before closing so I can tell they were tired or annoyed. But took me about 5 mins to get their attention. I asked for a size 9 in the mid boots (mind you I was asking for men shoes for my husband). The kid literally said "uhhhhhh.. k". And some other kid comes out with a different size and says "size 10 is all we got if you want to try that on" and walks away.. Lol really? Since they're boots, a size 10 might work with thicker socks. So I bought it. after we got home, sadly the size was too big for him. We went back after a week, got a different Merrell boots in the right size. But whoever this kid was that helped us grab the size was just complaining about his day. Everyone in this store has a "don't talk to me" expression haha. Except that ONE guy that helped me buy the display model of the m&p blackops knife. I don't have the receipt to find his name but me and my husband gratefully appreciate the time and effort you took to help us. Hopefully he's there again when we purchase more gear. read more

Our experience at this store was awesome. We had a canoe picked out that we went to purchase. We had done a month worth of research and had decided on one that Dicks has in stock. When we arrived, they had 2 canoes marked at the price we were prepared to spend. One was much nicer than the other and it hadn't been there 2 weeks prior when we went to look. So obviously we chose the nicer one. When the store employee came to help us, he scanned the tag for the canoe we had chosen. He said there was a mistake on the price tag and that it was 200 dollars more. He went and spoke to the manager and they decided to honor the price as marked. Great customer service!!
