Went in for a visit today around 3 pm . Normal I wouldn't say anything. But the smell was pretty bad when my mom and I went in. It was Dusty as in if they do a half job cleaning daily. After that we left we didn't want to buy what we came in for. Idk if they won't short on workers today. Or if they haven't check it since opening time. Overall we did notice they were cleaning the carts that people were using , I know that takes up a lot of time and we appreciate that. But don't forget the restrooms . They had a wet floor sign because the floors were dirty , A list of things maybe you guys need two only cleaning crew because your store is big and that would help out to make sure you guys work in a clean place. read more

Customer service is sub par. The two cashiers were more interested in talking with each other than providing appropriate customer service. No greeting or assurance that I found everything I needed. Horrible customer service. Very few items were marked with prices. When wanting to view fishing reels locked in cabinet, pushed the little customer service button. Waited more than 5 min and a clerk shields up with no keys. Calls another clerk with keys that don't work for that cabinet. Struck up conversation with another customer looking for help. Bought an in-ground basketball hoop a while ago. That transaction was perfectly fine, no complaints. Went back a couple weeks ago to purchase assembly and install, and was told I'd hear from the company within 48 hours to schedule, and to call if I didn't. So a day passed and I received a dig authorization. Did a digital signature and sent it back. Four days later, PG&E comes to make sure there are no gas lines and clears it. For the last 12 days, I have been trying to schedule the install. I call, am told they will re-submit to scheduling, and it will be expedited. They have told me this on the phone 4 times in 12 days. I called again this morning, and I got the same answer. I asked to speak to a manager, was put on hold for a few minutes, then told the manager would call me back when he got off the phone. Nightmare scenario. Just trying to get this hoop up so my kids have something to do during this pandemic. I do not recommend this until they can get a handle on install. read more

They took the bike to the back and made me wait around for someone to look at the bike before I could leave. So now I'm in trouble at work and no lunch as I'm waiting at the counter. If you want more Dicks in your life, the newest Dicks Sporting Goods has arrived in Sacramento. Their new facility is in the massive Delta Shores shopping center in South Sacramento. Dicks is in the center of the property, which is accessible from Cosumnes River Blvd. Dicks has penetrated the sporting goods market abandoned by Sports Authority and Sport Chalet. This large store has a decent selection of mid to high end sporting equipment and apparel. Most of the product is a bit overpriced compared to online retailers, but this is the place to go when your kid lost her mouth guard right before the tournament. They have Nike, Under Armour, and Taylor Made and a decent amount of camping and outdoor recreation items too. The future does not bode well for Dicks with sporting goods splitting into online and destination stores, but the first of many big box stores in the Delta Shores complex will probably do OK. For now, parking is a breeze with no competition, but access is a bit weird from the main road and will likely get worse with time. read more

I will never step foot in this store again. I came here with my husband to find swim shirts. We were treated very rudely and unprofessionally by an employee at this store. I felt very unwelcome by his behavior. It was extremely inappropriate. The manager admitted that the employee was "suspicious of us for some reason". Are you kidding me? We live in the 40s in east Sacramento give me a break!!! He profiled my husband and i and essentially accused of us of trying to steal. It was mind blowing. We are business owners. This was the second store I went to after I needed wrestling shoes and the previous store didn't have my size. They had screens that you could used to find the shoes you were looking for and it said that they had the wrestling shoes I needed in my size. So I asked a worker if he could bring them out for me and he was like okay yeah I'll get them. Only to find out they don't have that shoe in my size. So he offered for us to order the shoes in the website and it'll be delivered to us. Which I was hesitant about since I wanted to make sure they fit well and didn't want to have to return them if they didn't. But when he said they would arrive in 2 days. I was like wth let's do it bc I'm not driving around to any more stores. It's been 5 days and my shoes have not arrived. I'm checking the tracking number and the Dicks sporting goods site is saying one day and the Fedex tracker is saying they're coming a few days after that. This whole experience is just a nuisance I've been practicing wrestling without shoes and it is not easy in socks. So I'm really sick of this place and their lies. What is Dicks Sporting Goods doing that Sports Chalet or Sports Authority couldn't do? I don't know and I don't care. I'm just glad that there is still a physical sporting goods store for me to peruse through stuff that I would want to buy that wouldn't do it justice if I were to just read a review online. If you don't know what Dicks is, they sell all kinds of sporting goods you can think of. From basketball hoops to hunting gear and running shoes. If you're an active person then this place is like your Toys R Us. This location is located in a new shopping center called the Delta Shores. I can already foresee myself coming here a lot with Hobby Lobby and In-N-Out located here and all. I've haven't been to the Dicks in Elk Grove so I can't really compare it to that one, but it is bigger than the two previous sporting goods store that is no longer with us. Prices for their stuff are...well, pricey. But they said they'd beat anyone's prices so I guess there's that. I'm sure I'd put that to the test some day. It's still new so everything was super organized. Saw a lot of staff throughout the store, but they didn't seem too helpful cuz they'd just look at me instead of asking if I needed help with anything. Maybe I'll chalk it up as them working out the kinks. Bryce in the fishing department was super friendly and helpful. Very patient with all of the customers and a nice guy helped me out with a good fishing rod and reel and even hand spooled it for me since their machine was down. Other sporting goods stores have been going out of business but not Dicks! In fact, they happened to open a new location at the Delta Shores. The area is new and developing, conveniently off the highway 5. The store is pretty much the standard Dicks Sporting Goods layout. New store so it's stocked but I didn't find what I was looking for. Specifically, there was not a lot of variety in SF 49er gear. Three different colored jerseys that dawned only one players name; Bowman. Nothing against Bowman but at least stock some OG Niner player jerseys. Also just not a lot of other teams besides the Niners and Raiders. Some unpacked, opened boxes were in aisles, I walked around for a good second and not one employee greeted me or asked if I needed help. Saw about 5 employees and a couple just chit chatting. I left empty handied nonetheless but that won't stop me from revisiting as it's the largest sporting good store near home. read more

I went into this location to get some clothes and a pair of shoes. When I got to the shoe area I picked out a pair of shoes when I asked for the size I needed I was ignored several times finally I got a response and the employee advised me that he would not get me a pair of shoes just so I could run out of the door with them that I was going to steal the shoes mind you I don't know this person at all. I was surprise by his remark. Little did the worker know I had quite a bit of money from a settlement in my pocket that I pulled out and showed him. Next time don't judge a book by it's cover! Today I needs an air mattress. I looked on line and saw Dicks had a great deal. I headed over to pick it up. Being that I hadn't had any sleep, I wasn't able to figure where anything was located. I was short on time, had a cleaned out empty garage, building in a gym for 3 young men, not knowing a whole lot about gym equipment Andrew M., assisted me with picking out just the right equipment! Andrew thank you for keeping it all within my 3k budget, and demonstrating all the equipment, arranged the delivery and set up of all of it. Let me first start by saying I had a very interesting experience at this store today. On two separate occasions I dealt with a Dick's employee by the name of Troy (a shorter white male w/ a bald head). My first encounter was when I waited in what I thought was the return line for about 10 mins while Troy assisted another customer. Once he completed the transaction he walked away as if I were invisible. I called for him to let him know I had been waiting and asked if he could assist me. He responded rudely pointing me in the direction of what he called the "regular" line. Moving on, once I was finally helped to make my return I noticed my refund was a lesser amount than what I had paid. Apparently because I used a $20 off of $100 promotion a dollar amount was removed from every item of my $180 purchase. I asked for a managers assistance to help with overriding this since (even with my $35 return) I still met the promotional criteria. She called the manager over and to my surprise I was reunited with Troy. Troy talked down to me as if I wasn't able to comprehend the functions of how a promotion works. He continued, insinuating that I was looking to get over on the company by returning every item on my receipt separately in order to obtain an additional $20 cash back. I've never been more insulted. Troy kept focusing on the fact that it was ONLY about a $4 difference I wouldn't be refunded. At this point I was so annoyed, embarrassed and insulted I just asked for my money back. Troy walked away and had the cashier complete the transaction. During my visit here on this day I couldn't help but to feel that I was handled this way by Troy due to our racial differences. When I got to the shoe section I waited for 10 or more minutes for someone to come out of the back to ask them if they could grab me a size. He went back to check & tells me they don't have that specific size. I doubt he even checked properly. So I explain to him that I was told they had a few in stock & he says no and just walks away. The least he could've done was offer to find them online or at a different location but no instead he goes and hides from all the customers. The other location that I was at earlier had way better service. This location had little to no customers. Don't bother going here. After several excursions to Dick's for a myriad of various sporting needs, I am compelled to warn others of the consistently disappointing experiences I have had there. I run, I swim, I lift, and I ski...among other sporting activities. I was thrilled when Dick's opened at Delta Shores! So big! Amazing displays! Unlike the tiny Big 5 near my house! However, after at least 5 visits over a 6 month period I have found the following... You cannot find descent running shorts. They don't supply descent runners fluid containers for long runs. Very limited supply of swimmer's goggles and men's suits (jammers). Limited supply of lifting gloves. No water polo equipment whatsoever for my kid Weight dumbbells and racks extremely low quality or overpriced; Their customer loyalty program was off-line multiple times and I was told to call a number for credit--i did but was on hold for several minutes and abandoned that--it just added to the wait in and out of the store. But the real disappointment is with the staff. Rude, flippant, they seem tired, disinterested and not very 'present.' Waiting for them to open a dressing room to try on the one pair of ski pants that fit me took 22 minutes!!! I can only imagine they are unhappy working there, under paid and unappreciated. I even asked to speak to a manager about this because it had become a trend, and the manager could not get away from me soon enough; rambled off an insincere apology, checked watch several times, and I knew it just didn't really matter to her... And the prices are NOT competitive--in fact excessive. So...don't enable them. Go to Big 5, like I finally did, and get superior service, selection and prices! read more

I love Nike Gear so this store is great for that. I'm really impressed with the clothing displays. I had great sevice shopping for running shoes, don't know about the other departments. Although I do remember feeling unwelcome in the gun department. Great general selection for the basic everyday sports, nothing unique. Adequate check out. Beware if you want equipment assembled at you home. They use Select Express which is an awful company. 1.5 stars. Took me 5 appointments, many hours waiting at home, much time on the phone, and a horrific experience dealing with the installation "team" before my elliptical trainer was done. 4th appt. was for 2-5 p.m. They showed up at 9:15 p.m and expected me to allow this. No apology. No sense of how to treat a customer. read more

I decided to look around the store prior to picking up merchandise. I passed at least 5 employees. I was never greeted, or asked if I needed help. I finally decided to pick up my purchase, and leave. I get to the front, and have to wait on three employees to finish their conversation prior to assisting me. I tell Cassie that I am here tp pick up an order. She asks if I have my ID and the email. I had my ID, and was pulling the email up on my phone. She asks me to step aside so she can help the next customer. I'm wondering why I need to step aside, when the two Dicks employees she was chatting with while I was waiting was still standing there observing. I will not be returning to this store. I am thinking about calling corporate, and making them aware of the piss poor service at this brand new store. Maybe they are not aware of the multiple terrible reviews on this store. I went in looking for a good comfortable pair of running shoes . I wanted comfort, arch and heel support. I was immediately helped by TRAE who approached me very kindly and helpful. We discussed brands and I was open to his suggestions. He gave me several options based off my needs and I'm so glad he helped me! I was able to find just the right shoe with his help. He has great customer service and I was giving him work trying on diff shoes and sizes, but he was always smiling and kind. He didn't rush me or pressured me. As I got to the counter I told Robert (Asian male) I wanted to purchase a rifle. He goes to the back and gets the rifle and then ask me for a fsc or hunting licenses or Ccw permit. I told him I only have a hsc. He says that's not valid anymore. Tells me they offer the fsc test for $25 but they don't offer it during their black fri sale. Told him I've owned a hunting license before. Then He says I have to have a valid hunting licenses. Doesn't make any sense for me to spend $47 dollar Licenses that last 6 months to buy a rifle. When I can buy a fsc for $25 and lasts 5 years. He spoke to me in a rude manner as if I had no option but to buy the hunting licenses or don't buy from them at all. Decided to get the hunting licenses, so he walked me to the front of the store to purchase the hunting licenses. Now went back to the back of the store to purchase the rifle. I'm already annoyed with Roberts rude and cockiness because he treated me as if I never purchase a firearm before. Robert tells me to fill out the application on the kiosk. Completed the application and notified Robert. Waited 15mins while he was helping another customer to get two camcorder. He told me he would be right with me after he gets the print out of my application from the kiosk. So finally he comes over to me and tells me that the kiosk is down and that I have to manually fill out an application again. I told him that's totally bs and that I wanted to just cancel this whole purchase because it's just been overly complicated than usual for a firearm purchase. He then tells me ok. I told him I wanted the refund of the hunting license as well. He then tells me hunting licenses cannot be refunded. Now I'm just pissed because he was the person that told me to buy the hunting license. So I had to fill out the application again on paper this time. Made the purchase. I will not be spending money with dicks anymore. Robert needs to be retrained on customer service and get rid of his arrogant attitude. read more

I can't believe I haven't written a review of this place yet. I have been coming here a lot. Last year I started up on getting myself introduced to kayaking. I was obsessed with kayaking that I searched high, low, far and wide for all kinds of gear and accessories. This is definitely one of the stores I go to. I ordered my very first kayak paddle here online and it was ready for pick up on the day they designated. It was pretty quick. If you download theIr app, it gives you the option to sign up on rewards and also you get vouchers or coupons to get deals. I also like going on days when they have sales. They have all the name brands. All sports gear....they got it. Also customer service here is awesome. I couldn't find those waterproof pouches that you can use to put your cellphone in. I described it to a sales clerk and he ran out into the store to get me all these different options and he gave me all the prices for each one. I like it here. read more

Usually great place to shop but recently about as organized as my teenager's room. Associates are great, friendly, responsive. Products are good. However maneuvering around products, boxes, and clothing racks left in aisle ways is ridiculous. Restroom was equal mess...toilet paper pieces on floor, non functioning toilet dispenser on floor. My husband and I walked into Dick's trying to get a deal on North Face backpacks. We had gotten a 25% discount the week before. Although we weren't able to to get that discount, the staff at the store went out of their way to make sure that we were able to take advantage of another discount currently being offered. We were not easy customers. We came back multiple times and they had to look for the items and backpacks we wanted. I'd like to commend Bekky (the manager I believe) and Matt for going out of their way to make sure that my husband and I were taken care of. They never missed a beat even when we walked back in 5 minutes before closing to make a price adjustment. Bekky and Matt handled themselves with professionalism and courtesy. I walked away from Dick's tonight telling my husband that the way they acted is exactly how customer service should be.
