Never have I been more offended for an item return than I was today.. OK, I ordered a NORTH FACE Jacket online and when it arrived I didn't like the way it fit. So it's return time in my view since it was only a few weeks since I purchased. No receipt in bag mailed in but it had all the bar codes on packaging as reference. Plus all the tags on the jacket. So I arrive at South Center DICKS SPORTING GOODS and it's my turn at counter. I say " I'm returning jacket" and this punk ask's why. Like who FLIPPING CARES but I share I didn't like the fit. Then he ask's did you wear it , and answer was " NO " ! At this point he starts sniffing the jacket like it's a line of Peruvian Flake , I kid you not. I'm thinking is this two toned hair punk really questioning me on a return and then sniffs it. Since when does a return with documents turn into the Spanish Inquisition. My god someone needs to train the help in customer service and how not to be an a-hole! I mean my Louis Vuitton sunglasses I came in wearing cost more than his two week paycheck. Above and beyond service! My son was in a tournament at starfire and didn't wear the right underwear that would accommodate a cup. We ordered online the right compression shorts at 8am, got an email it was ready to pick up before they were open. When I got to the Dicks I called they answered before open and walked them out to me. Thank you for the extra effort!!! read more

Although this store was founded in 1948 as a fishing and tackle store, don't go there today if you're looking for anything fishing related because they have absolutely nothing. Not even a fishing section. Go here if you want overpriced athletic wear and shoes . read more

Customer service. Staff is unhelpful. I waited in a long line just to speak to someone in the shoe department. Then waited in another long line to place an order for something they don't have in store. The guy I talked to told me I could order online and get military discount. Then when it was finally my turn the employee told me they don't do military discount at this location. Only on Veterans Day and she didn't seem sympathetic. She was a young g sassy girl that just said, "yeah no... we don't do that." So annoying that I made a trip out here? As a mom with two athletic boys, we spend a lot of time (and money) at Dicks. Recently, I went in to make two returns and was "helped" by Brandon. One item couldn't be returned -- which I understood -- but when I asked a simple question, he became instantly rude and confrontational. He actually said, "I don't have to take anything back if I don't feel like it." Completely uncalled for. He was short, unhelpful, and visibly irritated. No apology, no thank you, no basic courtesy -- just silence and attitude. Honestly, someone that rude should not be working in customer service. We've had much better experiences at the Issaquah location, where staff treat customers with respect. Sadly, Tukwila was the opposite. For a store we've supported so much, this experience was incredibly disappointing -- and enough for us to take our business elsewhere. read more

A decent sporting goods store. Usually drop by to see if there are any good Under Armour apparel and shoes on sale. Like the Project Rock inventory as well. They are a bit pricey, but I do like the styles of the Under Armour brand. The shoes are comfortable and fits nicely. Like the store, has a very good selection of baseball, basketball, football, golf and tennis items. There are some fitness gym equipment and apparel available as well. Enjoy getting some purchases from this store whenever I am in the area. read more

I was planning to go to dicks to pick up sneakers for my son, he has extremely large feet, but I could not make it in person to their store because my electric wheelchair died at mods pizza, but I appreciate BRIAN! he was very helpful, on the phone communication was very organized. I just want to say that's it. But I went to shoe palace instead to get my son size 15 sneakers. But let's hope he does not know it's actually size 13 because they don't have size 15. This man, is a big fan of Dicks! I even brought my kid to check out Dicks! Actually, we needed some new soccer shoes for league and you know these kids and their particulars. They have to be black, and Nike and spikes. So we went to Big 5 and they have no Nike. So we checked target which was right around the corner from Dicks. Again, no Nike. Dicks actually had a few pairs in black in different price points! The Dicks staff was friendly and helpful and very tentative to our needs and helped us get set up and we were on our way to check out pads and water bottles. Kiddo is all set up! Now next week I'll have to bring my wife to check out Dicks. She's gonna need a new camping chair and thermos for the games! read more

I'm giving two stars simply because this Dicks does have a lot more options than the one in Tacoma. However, I didn't appreciate the workers assuming that my husband and I were going to steal from the store. We had last minute snowboarding plans and came once the store opened so we could get what we needed before our trip. We purchased snow pants, thermal clothing, and goggles. When standing in the check out line we noticed the security guard walking towards us to check what items we had. I worked at the Dicks in Puyallup in the past and know when they think you're being suspicious. However, what put my husband and I in a bad mood is the fact that the register person was going through and opening all of our items. Even the sealed ones! I understand trying to prevent stealing and loss control but wtf. That whole experience ruined our mood. read more

I'm giving this store a one star because I couldn't give it a ZERO star rating. The store has two people at the register and one person in the shoe department. This is on the weekend when so many people are out and ready to buy outdoor gear and shoes to welcome in Spring weather. Also, I drove 18 miles to this store because they said they had what I needed in stock. Well they didn't. Apparently they sell the item online, but don't carry it in the store. Awful, disorganized, and super old and slow machines for processing in-store pickup orders. I ordered a kayak online that was available in-stock in this store. When I got there they said it would take a minute for a couple of guys to bring it out. While I was waiting I perused the kayak aisles and noticed that several of the kayaks were incorrectly labeled (wrong brand, wrong style, etc). When I got to the checkout area to sign off that I had picked up my order I noticed that the list price in store was cheaper than what was listed online. I asked if they could make the price adjustment for me since it was cheaper than what I paid by $20. They said they couldn't do it because the machine had not processed the pickup yet. They said I could wait and see if it was updated in 10 minutes so I wandered around a bit longer. When I came back they said it still wasn't updated (and probably wouldn't update for 24 hours) - they let me know I couldn't do any modifications to the order until it was. Frustrated I left. What a nightmare. To have to lug a 10' kayak back to the store to get the price adjusted on another visit is absolutely ridiculous. The employees here didn't seem to care about me one way or another. For one of only a few sporting goods stores still left standing they could really use to up their service. read more

Okay guys... I was going to NOT write a review on this but they sent me an email request to review them... so here goes! Dicks is by default our go to place for any sports related items that Eastbay, Under Armour or Sports Unlimited don't have. This is by default because Seattle really has no other sports store! I will only write a review about my last experience with them.., but let me tell you I have numerous stories like the upcoming one. Pre-Football season, my 8 year old HAS to have a pair of Cam Newton UA cleats. His current UA cleats are size 2 so I figure 2.5 will fit him great! Has a coupon for $20 off $100. Cleats were $70 so added random stuff to hit $100 and get the $20 off. The shoes arrive... he puts them on and THEY ARE TOO SMALL!!! so I call Dicks and say, hey I need to exchange these. She tells me that she will help me place another order for these Bc I had a coupon and they don't really do exchanges just returns... I was thinking... AWESOME! She places the order and says I owe $69.99 after my discount. I paid it not paying attention and hung up. After I hung up I quickly realized that her math was not correct! How could an item that was originally $70 but after spending $100 got $20 off come out to $69?? I called back and told them they were wrong and the woman rudely told me that I was the one that was wrong and when I returned the ones that were too small the price would be the same as what they charged me. Next day, I bring back the small cleats and OF COURSE the price didn't match! They refunded me $60. I called back to let them know and she had to take a message because their systems were down and asked me to call in 2 hours.... I called in 2 hours... and the associate even asked me why was this not resolved in the first call?? Yea..... I have no idea! Horrible service. I got my damn $9 refund but that was waaaay too much work and not even worth it. read more

People that works at this location are a joke last week I went with my 14 year old son and one of the employees was following my son all over the store making him feel uncomfortable he was going in circles at some point that when we ask cashier to speak with the manager we could believe who came to the register to speak with us . It was the same guy following my son all over the store , the manager . Are you kidding me ? That was so annoying , what can of manager does that ? Love it here. I always go here to buy my tennis skirts for the season along with multiple other articles of clothing. The quality is great and I love the selection. My family and I purchase sports equipment as well and I would say their selection is broad as well as quality for what you pay. read more

Obviously the management of this store, and of Dick's in general, could care less about the customer experience. Look at the ratings. This is a good store unless you need customer assistance. The "Need Help" buttons around the store will trigger no response. In the middle of a Tuesday afternoon the only employee I could see in the whole store was the sole cashier at the front. That was it. Much better places to give your money to. Never will I visit this store and I would have to seriously consider patronizing Dick's at all. read more

Poor customers service! The sale associate in Landing called this location to put a pair of shoes on hold for me, and their ads said they will do price match! I came to pick up and pay for the shoes, they said they can't match since the ads in front of their face. Cashiers was super rude and not even apology for things they can't be on the same page as the company and between stores. I talked to store manager and he can't say anything. I was like wow, i told him that he should not be here also as managers too! Please do not shop at this locations to buy anything, and get treat like trash! read more

This place is unable to issue licenses properly. They told me that to qualify for a resident fishing permit I had to have lived in WA for more than 10 years, when the website clearly states 90 days (which I only looked up after I was told to buy the non-resident permit). Upon calling them up to tell them they made a mistake, they told me it wasn't their problem and to call up Fish & Wildlife. The manager was rude, unapologetic, and sounded disbelieving of everything I said. Saying that "you don't understand how that could have happened" is not equivalent to an apology. Obviously it happened because you did not train your employees properly. They point blank refused to rectify the mistake that THEY made. Impossibly bad customer service. read more

The best store for pretty much all your sports needs. Have been there on two occasions and wasn't able to find what I needed, no biggie. White golf pants and I wear size 13 shoe and had no luck with shoes that weren't awful looking. Just went to Dick's tonight to look at and buy a couple of shotguns. Also wanted to try on some of there field and stream hunting gear that I had in my online cart ready to order tonight as well as some duck decoys and gloves. Anyway went into the store about 7 pm tonight. It looked like there were only about 5 other customers in the store. Went back to the gun area and stood back there for about 4 minutes till someone asked if I needed any help. I said I wanted to look at a couple of shotguns. I was looking at getting a 12 and a 20 gauge. A couple minutes later a younger looking man or teenager came out and attempted to unlock the shotguns I wanted to look at. After about the sixth attempt with a different key I told him to forget it. Tired of crappy customer service from this business. Called the store and they said they were working on filling that area with an employee. Not sure what that means. Will never go there again. I was looking at spending about $900 there. Went home and deleted my cart of items. I will stick with sportsman's Warehouse and Big 5 These places need a serious class in customer service. Good luck. read more

The manager of the store was very rude. The online pickup process is very slow, inefficient, and frankly unbearable. I got called "difficult" by a manager just because I asked for a receipt for an item I wanted to return. They also falsely sent me an email stating that I picked up an item that I never picked up. When I went back to the store to make them aware of the situation, the manager fixed it but didn't even give an apology. Don't bother with this place. Just order stuff you need online so you don't have to deal with the bad customer service. read more

5 stars for the Dick's Tukwila WA store, BUT 1 star for Dick's sporting goods online. DON'T order a large item online. I was given such a hassle. I ordered a treadmill by calling the online order dept. I told them that we are older and so would need the treadmill brought into the house and set up. I was assured that would be no problem as long as we had no stairs to bring the treadmill up or down. We don't and they assured me at least 3 times there would be no problem. The treadmill arrived at a moving company in Seattle. I was called and told that they would not bring the treadmill in, but would put it on the parking strip and at a later time (they didn't know when) Dick's would send someone to get the equipment into the house. The reason was that the moving company couldn't handle moving a 300 pound treadmill. I immediately called Dick's online company and was told that they would do something. They didn't. For a long time, phone call after phone call, they gave me a run around. I finally called Dick's sporting goods in Tukwila WA and the manager handled the problem. The first thing we thought to do was to change my delivery address to the store and the store would deliver it to me, but the online company said that they couldn't do that even with my permission. I finally asked for my money back so that I could go into the Tukwila store and buy a treadmill that the store guaranteed that they would bring into the house and install. Even though it took only one day to take my money the online store said they couldn't possibly give me my money back for over 30 days (I think probably that was a deadline that if I had gone over I wouldn't have gotten my money back). It took days for the manager of the Tukwila store to get them to listen and give my money back in a timely manner. When I went into the store to order a treadmill, I was given first class treatment. The treadmill was delivered into my house within 3 days and it was set up and we were shown how to use the equipment. Dick's online deserves less than one star. Dick's in Tukwila Washington deserves more than five stars. read more
