Wow! What an incredible first experience at Kabob Village. I'm already dreaming of the flavors and food and can't wait to go back. Wonderful friendly attentive service from the staff. So kind and thoughtful making sure you have everything you need. Portion sizes reflect the prices and I definitely loved every bite. I even tried Persian hot tea for the first time and it was lovely as well. Ambiance was bright and welcoming. Loved the booth seats inside! Parking was a little difficult but well worth it! I can easily see this being a new neighborhood hang out spot. Come to this hidden gem before it explodes and everyone finds out how good the food is!

Really clean kitchen, food being cooked fresh to order.

Really good kabobs and the prices are great. You'll have enough food for servings with each plate. Definitely anticipate on having left overs. Food is fresh to order, spices of the kabobs are just right, restaraunt and facility is really clean. Definitely coming back. This is one of the best values around this area. 10/10

A fan of the Woodland Hills location and so thankful they opened up another in Sherman Oaks. Great Persian kabobs and relaxed vibes. We ordered the koobideh and chicken lunch special, with an order of barg kabob. Flavorful, juicy and tender meat served along perfectly fluffy Persian style rice. Fresh bread made and served on the spot! Can't wait to go back and try other dishes.

Love this place!! Always great food. Been here many times. Fast service. Free hot tea :)

The food is so delicious! We went for my dads birthday and customer service was excellent! I loved the decor and the long tables. This is a go to place my family now for future get togethers! Also, my son was obsessed with their rice !

I would not eat here. This business has left flyers on all cars in my neighborhood street multiple times and has created A TON OF LITTER in our neighborhood. I understand the sentiment to advertise but it's disrespectful given the street is now covered with trash.

Excellent food, great portions, easy location. Attentive service. What more could you want? It's a fast casual location

I don't normally leave bad reviews. This place does have good food with average service. However today my colleague and I both had Hair inside the rice.

Food ordered here is, Chicken shish Beef Koobideh Beef Shish Kabob

The food was super good, i recommend this place for anyone looking for a new taste and style of food especially mediterranean food, the customer service is superb, they are the kindest people ever and super friendly and helpful. Very nice restaurant, very nice environment, definitely recommend this is a gem!

They have curry, stew, jerk things and good portions in plate form. Loads of vegan and vegetarian options including Callaloo, Ackee, Jerk Veggies, Veggie Patties, Plantains, Rice, Peas and refreshments in bottle form. The Ackee and Callaloo Plate is one of my favorites. The vibes inside are mellow yet very warm and the service is excellent though I mainly do delivery/takeout. If dining in you can enjoy their homey touches, greenery, art and flatscreen TV. They have some pantry items such as sauces, seasonings, crackers, etc as well as desserts. It's tucked away in a small plaza off Burbank Blvd/Hazeltine Avenue with a small yet spacious lot that's rarely full. Street parking is plentiful though I can actually walk here (only a mile from home). Restrooms are gender neutral, always clean. Good spot to enjoy solo or with a small group. My friends in Van Nuys enjoy this place often, and we're all the same distance. Enjoy this awesome Valley must!

I honestly wish I had ordered more than two. The fresh juices were also a standout; the Pineapple Ginger and Hibiscus were both spot on. Even the imported ginger beer from Kingston was really good. The jerk wings were absolutely delicious, and those small bread rolls (similar to cornbread muffins) were super tasty. The peas and rice and the plantains were also on point. Now for the downsides, the oxtails were disappointing. They weren't very meaty, and at $35 a plate, I expected more than mostly bones. I did get one decent piece, but overall it didn't feel worth the price. The vegetables were also bland. Dessert was another letdown. The sweet potato pie wasn't sweet enough and had an overpowering nutmeg flavor. The cobbler was undercooked, the crust was raw and inedible, and the peaches tasted like they came straight from a can. Overall, a mixed experience, but I'd still come back for the patties, wings, and fresh juices.

Sherman Oaks is gritty and the section of Ventura Boulevard that houses TLP is almost brutalist in its anti-establishment aesthetic. You would never know it was here if you didn't either live in the neighborhood or seek it out as I did. It is sandwiched between a completely non-descript place that I didn't even look at and a crystals shop with grafitti-etched windows (unfortunately!) but some really cool beads. Inside is the same -- no frills, a dress-down and survive-if-you-dare vibe. My pictures will illustrate what I mean. Nevertheless, the friendly service (shout out to our server, Patrick), the menu, and the quality of the food are well worth it. Again, see what we ordered in the photos attached. Everything was delicious. The floor, tables, and chairs were all clean. There is some kind of post-apocalypse rhumba going on with the ceiling treatment. It is almost reverse-logic art with all the shading (stains? velour movement?) and utilitarian installation it reveals. Love the walls though, and the worn distressed wood everywhere (see the pix, folks). A bonus was watching the Masters (Patrick let us linger) and sitting by a giant window that was open to the street. Parking is up a block or so on either side. We always find safe spots in Sherman Oaks. The music seemed to be one CD of an unknown (to me) vocal artist and was pleasant. The crowd was friendly and the whole atmosphere was like one big homey grunge party. You know those mornings you fall out of bed and almost don't want to change out of your pajamas or yoga threds? This is the place to go. I loved it. (NOTE: You may have to refresh this page twice to see my pictures, for some reason. grrrrrr)

Tonight, my wife had a business meeting, and I ended up staying back, so I figured this was the perfect chance to finally give it a shot on my own. I can honestly say it did not disappoint. From the moment I walked up to order, the experience was great. The staff was warm, professional, welcoming, and patient, which immediately stood out to me. Since it was my first time there, they were kind enough to help guide me through the menu and make recommendations, which I always appreciate when trying a new place. You can tell when people genuinely care about customer service, and that was definitely the case here. I ended up ordering the Big Joe with tater tots, and I paired it with the spicy ketchup and the honey mustard BBQ. For dessert, I had the banana bread since I'm lactose intolerant. I actually didn't ask for the honey mustard BBQ at first, but it was highly recommended to me, so I decided to trust them and give it a try. I'm really glad I did, because it was incredible. I'm normally not a honey mustard person at all, so that surprised me in the best way possible. It had a great balance of flavor and ended up being one of my favorite parts of the meal. The Big Joe was absolutely delicious -- juicy, flavorful, satisfying, and just done right. It was one of those meals where you get so into it that you forget to stop and take pictures. In fact, it was so good that I completely forgot to take a picture of the banana bread dessert afterward. Everything just hit the spot. What I also really appreciated was that the burger didn't leave me feeling overly heavy, greasy, or gross afterward. It was filling without feeling like too much, which says a lot. I ended up sitting at the tables right outside and enjoyed the whole experience there instead of ordering through an app or taking it to go. I'm glad I did, because it made the visit feel even better. Sometimes sitting down and enjoying the food fresh in the moment just makes a difference, and that was definitely the case here. I told Arthur before leaving that I absolutely have to bring my wife next time, because she's probably going to be upset that I tried it without her. That alone should say how much I enjoyed it. Sloppy Buns has officially gone from being a place we always talked about trying to a place I'll happily go back to and recommend to others. Highly recommend checking out Sloppy Buns if you haven't already. Great food, great service, and a genuinely great first experience.
