Two of us had the cheesesteak based reviews but both agreed that it was dry and the fries were limp and tasteless. Brought a work friend here who had never been here before for lunch. We ate inside because it was still a bit steamy outside. We came for the tuna melt sammie of the week. It was quite good. I wouldn't say it was the best melt ever, but it held its own. We both got a side salad instead of fries and were happy with that. The salad was a good size, and the wasabi vinaigrette was tasty. Food took longer than usual to come out. Service was attentive, perhaps a little too much, but it's hard to fault anyplace these days for service being too attentive. read more

I have idea what the hype is about at this place and I'd minus 5 could be given, I would. Probably can safely this was the worst meal I've ever had in a restaurant!I've had far better burgers at Sonic, and that's not saying much. We'd come with a group celebrating a birthday. I ordered the Swiss mushroom burger medium well done, stressing I didn't like it raw looking. My one friend ordered the meatloaf. Food came out all at the same time which was nice. The first thing I tried were the fries. They were absolutely disgusting, limp with grease and zero taste. Waitress disappeared instantly - never saw her again until everyone had finished their meal. After the disastrous fries it was time for the burger. It had a good deal of meat but looked like canned mushrooms of which there were very few. Cut it in half and found what I would call medium rare - and of course waited for our server to come back so I could send it back. She never did. I took one bite and was amazed that there was absolutely no seasoning. And of course none on the table! No server to ask for some even tho I waited for several minutes. I'd been given a half cup of catsup (probably for the fries) and tried that. Helped some but I'm not a catsup lover so just left it all on the plate. When she did come back to collect everyone's plates I asked for a take home box thinking I might be able to doctor the burger at home. Left the disgusting fries on the plate. No way to fix that soggy limp mess! What a waste of $$$! The gal next to me that ordered the meatloaf couldn't eat it. It arrived at room temperature and hard as a rock (she'd ordered the sauce on the side). The lukewarm mashed potatoes were like glue. She took the meatloaf home but ended up throwing it in the garbage as it was as hard as a rock she said. Needless to say a few of us will definitely never be going back to this place. Didi's is always my go to place for great food and a casual atmosphere. The owner, Scott, is always there and greets each table. He is a funny guy and you see his personal touch throughout the restaurant. This past Wednesday I had the gumbo special. It was to die for with chunks of shrimp and a huge piece of jalapeño corn bread to sop the base up with. The staff always great'. They treat you like you are one of their friends. My waitress took extra time explaining how the gumbo was made and that it was a little spicy. Believe me, when I say it wasn't too spicy for me. I ate every bit. My wife took me here for lunch for the first time last weekend and the food was AMAZING! I ordered the meatloaf, mashed potatoes and broccoli with a slice of carrot cake for dessert. The inside bar has a cool rustic feel to it and love the window to the outside on a sunny day. Lots of ambient reflection with the bottles and glasses are a unique highlight. You NEED to request CELESTE as your server. She made this experience absolutely magical. Have been wanting to try Didi's for a while after reading the reviews. It was a bit of a let down. The hostess took a few minutes trying to figure out what table to seat us at, even though it was almost empty, and we had a reservation. Our server was nice but kept interrupting us every 5 minutes. We received our entrees about the same time as our salad. I think the timing could be a little better. We felt rushed, as she asked us if we wanted dessert when we were just starting our entrees. The food was decent but nothing special. I think it is a bit over priced for the atmosphere and quality. The salmon was under seasoned, and they would not allow a substitution for the pasta. My husband enjoyed his spicy chicken dish but it was pretty ordinary. I can't say we would eat there again, as there are so many restaurant options in the area. read more

We visited last Sunday with my in laws for brunch. We chose the patio to enjoy the live music and we got a special treat from the Chef who joined in for a song or two. This is only my 2nd time coming to this place, but both have been great experiences. My friends and I sat on the patio which was nice bc although it was chilly they had heat lamps at each table. We had green tea shots to celebrate my coworkers birthday and it was sooo tasty. I would definitely order that again. I ordered their smothered fries which were seasoned very well and had some wine. Chef/owner came around to all the tables twice while we were there to check how everyone's experience was, which I love. Chef was kind enough to come to our table to check on us. Seriously though, if you enjoy a little spicy food do yourself a favor and get the TEXICAN Chicken. It is really good. Went to get a great burger as I got when it was Stan's. Food was really good and service was prompt. It lacks that char grilled flavir I was expecting that Stan's used to have. Not sure why that is as I could see Char Grill marks on our burgers, but they lacked the char grilled flavor. ??? What's up with that? Stan's had the best burger in North Texas! Hands down!!! I really like this place. The atmosphere is hard to beat and the staff is wonderful. Unfortunately, the food has been leaving me hoping for more. Brunch food was awesome, but lunch and dinner weren't great. The last time I had food here, I had the General Tsos Chicken Sandwich, it was difficult to find the meat through all the breading and sauce, and I couldn't even pick up the sandwich. All I can say is this place never disappoints. Normally I order the meatloaf which is to die for but today I decided to switch it up and ordered the gyro and a side salad. Wow what a great decision and nice change of pace. The tzatziki sauce was fresh and refreshing, the meat was moist and tender and the pita had the perfect density and flakiness. I'm definitely going to order this again. The service was outstanding as usual.
