First, let's start by saying this. $10k spent at this shop for my husband to get handed back a truck that literally would have killed us had he not known this truck as well as he does and decided something was wrong and slowed down to 2mph. The brake calipers were replaced and they didn't complete the job correctly so a bolt either was not put back in or lock tight was not applied and it backed out causing the caliper to move and get lodged between the rim. Ultimately this destroyed the rip causing it to bust and the truck went off the road. Next, they replaced fuel lines going to the fuel bowl and did not install them properly so diesel was going all over the engine and ground. Luckily, he was able to correct this issue. We lost a half a tank of fuel because we didn't realize it was spraying everywhere until it was too late. Next, the fuel line that was replaced was routed over the valve cover and they did not even take the hard line out that was "replaced" it was just left there! Next, they said they replaced the injector gaskets (with the harness), funny thing- they were informed those had just been replaced. So we knew one had a broken clip in the back and low and behold we get it back and magically that clip is still broken yet it was replaced? They kept the truck for an entire month and still couldn't complete things correctly. Pro: they managed to replace battery cables and terminals correctly. So if this is what you're needing, highly recommend....otherwise GO ANYWHERE BUT HERE. As a Navy Veteran myself I expect honor, courage, and commitment from any business just as I give these core values myself in anything I do. This shop has miserably failed to uphold simple values. Communication was poor at best, however the owner did jump in after it hit the month mark and worked on the truck to get it out of the shop for us and he had better communication than the guys he employed. However, in our opinion, your weakest link is also the face of your company just the same as your top mechanic. They are currently "fixing" their mistakes. I can't say enough about the team here at Diesel David. Colin and that whole crew were fantastic with being crucially thorough with my potential issues of my vehicle. They keep it all honest and if things do not need to be repaired they will not push that on you to make a dollar. So once again the service and professionalism was top notch. David is an incredible mechanic and runs a great shop. We had a 2013 Ford escape that another shop was going to charge us $1300 To fix a coolant leak problem. I wanted a second opinion so I took it to David. After doing a full diagnostic, David found that it was an overflow cap problem. He saved us over a thousand dollars. He said that he would only replace what was needed. I had him look at the vehicle and none of what the other shop was recommending was needed. The problem was something extremely basic and David kept it to the basics. I can see David and his shop are incredibly honest and they do not up charge for anything that would not be needed. We need more mechanic shops like him around that do things the right way and are trustworthy. David has my full respect. read more

I brought my truck to these guys I heard david was very good. his flunkies are inexperienced or under qualified or both or maybe they just rip people off. they diagnosed my truck for 850 with a bad egr cooler oil cooler which they said was incredibly unlikely that they have only replaced two oil coolers since they been there... how long have you been there? so 859 to find out it's and egr an oil cooler and a head gasket only 15k to repair. I have pulled the truck and taken it to another shop. so after the 850 John wants another 500 to re install the egr so it will run. his 500 on top of 850 somehow comes to 1600 dollars?????? I refuse gonna tow the truck when I get there 20 minutes later Johnathan says "my tech is a bit of a completionist your truck is together and ready to drive" so you guys put it back together in the 20 minutes after we got off the phone??? these guys are crooks. I had an electrical issue with a fan blower resistor which also caused the truck to idle rough and only idle in gear paid $417 for 2 hrs Diagnosis said 3 injectors no functioning wanted to take all out send to he checked $2800 if 3 were needed $4800 if problem still exist check ECM or FICM. So I towed it home took out ECM sent to Diesel ECM repair on Monday had it refurbished and back home on Saturday installed itran like new for $495 with free shipping both ways. I had an old infiniti g35x which i had not used for a long time and the battery died. After a bad experience with another mechanic booked an appointment with David online. I got a call from him within an hour confirming the appointment and telling me what he would be doing and how much it will cost. I used Diesel David to check out a chevrolet silverado 2500HD with the Duramax Diesel engine. I was very impressed with David's communication and punctuation for keeping our appointment time. David's experience was quite evident, I usually fix all my own cars but not having equipment or experience for a diesel engine I use David. So i took my 2006 duramax for a new rear axle from a insurance claim, i got a quote not to long after i dropped it off for $11,000 yes you read that right. Then he charged me for a diesel diagnostic test which is the cheapest idk what that has to do with the axle but after that he proceeded to tell me my head gaskets were gone which they are not ive had them tested since also with the rear axle blown out it wouldn't move the rear tires so he put it in 4x4 which any shop especially a so called diesel shop would know when put in 4x4 forcing all toque on the front wheels would you guessed it shatter my ti rods then they refused to pay for them after they broke them i got all this work done from another shop for slightly over $6000 not $11k he also quoted me on Head Gaskets which again were not bad for a little under you guessed it $11k and the take my experience and learn from it read more

Lying Diesel David Due to the overwhelming positive reviews and self-proclaimed expertise in diesel repair, I gave David a chance on my ailing fathers Dodge Ram 2500 Cummings Diesel engine. The main issue with the truck was that it wouldn't start at times and because of my father's health condition, he wanted everything in the truck fixed so he could sell it in good conscience. I should have seen the warning signs, but my focus was more on my family then this (lesson learned). When David was made aware of the circumstances, he gave us a low-ball (insulting) offer of 10k for a truck that easily fetches 25-30k (same miles, condition & year) on auto-trader. We respectfully declined. He seemed very excited about the repairs and told us all of the issues it had and we soon saw a growing repair bill. Initial quote was $3,500... Towards the end of the diagnostics, he said "oh there is also a diagnostics charge"... I was not made aware of this up-front but complied with the diagnostics and approved the repairs (based on his "expertise") He calls me up later the next day and tells me now he made a mistake on the initial quote and that the repair would be $300 more. I explained to him this was getting very high very quick and we cannot afford this already high bill. During the repair process there were several delays and miscommunication on Davids end. From missed appointments, to forgotten to order special parts, to taking the truck from our property against our original agreement and our consent. After he brought back the truck, my dad took it out for a test drive and we both soon discovered that the truck was in even worse condition than ever before. The steering had a 3 inch play in it.... So bad that we had to end the test ride and brought it back.. My dad was upset, given the amount of money that we spent. David said he would back the next day to take a look at it. One weekend later, he finally stops by and the truck would not stop (keep in mind this was what he was brought in initially). He tries and tries and after about 30 minutes realizes that one of the battery cables was loose and was able to resolve this issue. This guy had the audacity to tell me there was a secondary diagnostics charge. WOW... I called him up and explained to him how that makes any sense, and he finally agrees. We spend an additional $1000 dollars for repairs to fix the alignment, but the problem persisted. Finally, we decided to tow our truck to a local diesel repair shop and showed them the problems along with the repairs completed. They were astonished at the repair bill and over charges. Looking at the repairs, they told me it appears to be the work of an amateur and with the truck lifted, pointed out the issues which I was able to confirm. The boots on both axles were ripped during Diesel David's take apart, resulting in exposed grease to the outside guaranteeing a premature failure. The parts that he used were clearly cheap chinese aftermarket parts. The issue with the steering was the gearbox, which they were able to fix for under $800. At best, David is a great backyard mechanic. If you need your oil changed, tires rotated or windshield washer fluid replaced... He's you guy... anything outside of that, I wouldn't trust him. I am upset that David decided to take advantage of my parents and the condition they were in. From the up-charges, failed promises, failed appointments and cheap parts used. If you decide that you want to use him for your next repair, ask yourself this... Why doesn't he have a repair shop? Having a mobile repair guy sounds great, but you are risking your safety and the safety of others by using him. Buyer beware. read more

The mechanic called me and immediately explained the truck was very cold blooded and operated poorly!! They went to his house to look at it and when it needed to be taken to the shop, after hours she volunteered to be there when it arrived. This review is a little late, Diesel David did some engine leak work to my Buick Enclave about a month ago. From when I first called he was pleasant, accommodating and willing to work with me. I called him on a Thursday he found time to fix my car Friday morning and within my time frame. From what I seems once I picked up the car it was driving better. I said I was going to take it to another repair place just to verify the work had been completed, but haven't had the time, will update when I do this.
