I would leave more than a 1 star review for Diesels Direct, however, General Manager Rick Shuba threw that straight out the window per our interaction with him today. My husband had been looking at a truck there for about two weeks. This past Saturday, we decided to go in to test drive and talk pricing with Sales Employee, Jim Zabielski. Jim was great, allowing us to take a lengthy test drive, and sat down with us afterwards to run numbers, talk about our trade in, etc. We agreed to put a payment/hold on the truck that day, bring in our trade on Sunday, and complete the paperwork and final down payment on Monday. On Monday evening, we were offered $500 less for our trade in (not a problem) and sat with Finance Manager, Dawn Bell, for nearly an hour to sign paperwork, and pay. We left that night with all paperwork signed, warranty purchased, pricing agreed upon, etc. On Tuesday morning, my husband receives an email from Jim asking him to call regarding the paperwork. My husband calls Jim to be told that Diesels Direct would be "losing money on the sale", and wanted us to sign a NEW contract as someone had made a mistake due to the vehicle being listed at a higher price on their website. What repituable dealership does this?! Mistakes surely happen, however, this is just poor business practice. My husband and I decided to conference call General Manger Rick Shuba to politely advise that we wouldn't be signing a new contract, and were met with horrible customer service in return. Rick went on to yell, argue, talk over, and belittle us. He went ask far as to tell us that we "weren't the boss", "he wouldn't be bullied" and that "we weren't listening". Rick also told us that he had basically turned the situation over to some main office in Berea (which... I truly don't even think exists) and flat out REFUSED to provide us with contact information or numbers to anyone above him. Rick proceeded to HANG UP ON US. He was telling us that HE wasn't going to be bullied?! Really? What were they doing to us? Leaving us with money and a trade in tied up? Around ten minutes later, I received a call from another Finance Manager telling us that they'd be "honoring the deal". I advised that I was almost ready to walk away from the entire thing due to the way we were being treated, and it seems that's exactly what they were hoping for. We picked up the truck this evening. Jim apologized on Rick's behalf, telling us that he was "frustrated" however, it's just not acceptable. How completely unprofessional for someone in a management position to allow themselves to speak to a customer this way. I would have thought that Rick may approach us this evening with some type of apology himself, however, he was no where to be found, and I can't say I'm surprised. In no way, shape, or form should Rick be in a management position based on his behavior today. Buyers - educate yourselves and read the reviews. Read the responses from "management". His lack of professionalism is REAL, and that's ultimately who's behind the scenes here at Diesel Direct. read more

Buying a used car can be a really stressful experience. I was so impressed with Stewart of Diesels Direct, who went out of his way to make sure that the entire process went smoothly. From setting up a day to come see the car that I was interested in, to test driving it, to inspecting and purchasing it, Stewart was right there to answer my questions and give me all the information I needed to make a great purchase. Bought a Maserati there 2 months ago. Havent drove it for almost 2 weeks. Car does not start. Call if they can do anything but they said no warrenty so ik screw for buying this piece of lemon. Going to see if theres any law about this. But dont buy a luxury car here. They even said they had done new brakes. But it sweak so bad. And the rotors is not even even. Oh where do I start? Believe all of the reviews (all are negative). We were in for 2 days over Thanksgiving and purchased a Jeep. They would not even let us test drive the car until we agreed on a price? Who negotiates before test driving? SCOTT LUKOVSKI (general manager) finally leveled with us and seemed straightforward. WRONG. We did purchase the car, and as we are in the finance office, SCOTT LUKOVSKI calls and tells the Finance Manager DAWN BELL to NOT give us a bank apr % discount. WHY? Dawn then had us sign a "WE OWE document that shows a list of what the dealership owes the consumer if follow up is needed on the car. DIESEL DIRECT FIAT OF STRONGSVILLE puts agreements in writing on the WE OWE document AND sign it, THEY DO NOT FOLLOW THROUGH. We agreed to the following (all in writing): 1. Car to be detailed (it was literally full of dirt and an inch of dust). 2. Oil and transmission fluid to be flushed and replaced 3. Heated steering wheel electronic repair 3. New tires shipped The DIESEL DIRECT FIAT OF STRONGSVILLE DID NOT do a transmission fluid flush. When the Service Manager Jim Obenauer was looking the car over, he said he does not believe in them. However Scott said it will be done and on the work order. We know this was not completed because we had to take the car into a different dealership for the steering wheel electronic repair (see #3 above) and was told the transmission fluid was never changed and filthy (the second dealership documented that on the work papers). We also were sold a car with RECALLS. It cost us $140 to complete the recalls. When we called SCOTT and shared this information, he did not return our calls. We had to retain an attorney, who requested reimbursement for the charges on the WE OWE (NOT including the recall). SCOTT called us finally, and said, you can't squeeze water from a rock. Really? Me as the CONSUMER is asking a "BUSINESS" to follow through on a DOCUMENTED SIGNED agreement? Needless to say, we did get a check, but less than what was agreed. We request better tires and agreed to a $600 credit towards the tires of our choosing. DIESEL DIRECT FIAT OF STRONGSVILLE put an upcharge on the tires purchased AND charged us for shipping. DIESEL DIRECT FIAT OF STRONGSVILLE provided the tire sales bill and HANDWROTE a markup of $120 on top of the price they actually paid. The shipping was not reimbursed either. I CAN'T STAY ENOUGH ABOUT THIS DEALERSHIP. POOR POOR EXPERIENCE. DISHONEST, DOES NOT FOLLOW THROUGH. They did say they respond to reviews, SCOTT LUKOVSKI, we called and emailed you and your admin, requesting the status, check# and mail tracking # for the $100 for the SHIPPING CHARGES. The worst customer service ever. They seem real nice & on your side. Just to get you to sign the papers. Then you realize you are stuck with an over priced peace of junk while they are laughing all the way to the bank. They get junk in & try to get top dollar for it. They also say they dont give warranty's so they can pass on the savings to you... Ha yeah right its to cover there rear ends on all the repair work. Best to steer clear of them unless you already bought a vehicle from than than you be lucky to be able to steer at all!! Oh & it made me give them a star otherwise I wouldn't. read more

Diesels Direct was incredibly efficient and professional. I live out of state, but have family in Cleveland. Knowing that I would be in Cleveland for the holidays, I looked for a new truck in the area and found a great deal at Diesels Direct. Jeremy was especially helpful over the phone and basically had the entire deal set up and ready to go by the time I had arrived. When I got to Diesels, the truck was very clean and ready for me to drive off the lot. Dawn was very thorough with the financial information and I was signed and ready to go in under 20 minutes. Bought a truck here. Truck looked great at lot and on test drive so I bought it. A few days after the check engine light came on. I took it to the dealership and found out it had a major issue that the manufacturer had made known was a problem. So they had disconnected the battery at diesels direct to clear out any codes. Greasy! Typical used car salesman stuff. Thank god the dealership jumped through hoops to get it fixed for me for free. If not it would have cost me a lot of money. The warranty they sold me wouldn't cover it. So the selection is good there but they are not trustworthy. But what used car sales place is that isn't part of a legitimate dealership. This place is associated with a dealership but it's run like a corner lot used car place. So know what your getting into. Expect hidden problems and expenses if you buy from here. I would have respected them if they would have just told me about the issue. But honesty isn't in the deal I suppose. I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody. The few positive reviews on here are fake. The wording gives it away. Either paid for or friends and family. STAY AWAY! read more

My son purchased a used truck and within 2 days the truck had major issues. The truck has major problems and they temporary coded it to pass echeck. They gave my son a few parts to which they said it should pass.....when again it did not pass. This is his second month of owning his first truck from this dealership . BUYER BEWARE! Please do not trust this dealership or would I purchase a used vehicle they do not stand behind their word. Very disappointment. read more

This establishment is a total ripoff. They sold my son a 2009 Dodge Ram 2500 which was an unsafe vehicle when it left their place of business. It totally lacked a right rear emergency brake, needed multiple steering components including a defective steering box and pitman arm, not to mention a worn center link and tie rod end. This on top of dry rotted tires including one tire that had a large bubble in the sidewall. Then to top everything off, they did not change the oil/filter or check any other fluid levels (the six speed manual gearbox was low on oil because the shifter seal was bad) and the fuel filter seemed like it was never changed, leading to the failure of the cylinder number three injector. All of this after charging a premium price. You would think paying such a premium price would bring you a premium vehicle. NOT AT THIS PLACE!!! BEWARE!!! I went to this place many of times before I didn't have the credit just looking for a nice truck. So last Thursday went there and found a beautiful truck at this point I had my grandmother ready to cosign for me so I asked the sales men if I could take the truck for a test ride he told me that the brakes need work and that I could so I went out looked at the truck seemed nice I told him that I really wanted the truck and to call me when it was ready so that I could take it for a test ride and put a deposit down. He called me right before the were ready to close and said that it was a different truck with the brake problem and I could test drive it. So I came in on Friday the next day to take it and he told me that someone had already put a deposit on it. So after the messed me around with that I told them that if I didn't get the truck I was going to let the bbb know what had happen. So the sales manger then proceeded to let me know that if I wanted the truck that bad to fill out the credit app that night and return Monday morning with my grandmother and my deposit because they are not open on Sunday's. So Monday morning came I was ready to buy this truck I went to diesel direct and when I got there looked for the truck no where in sight so I saw the scum sales manger out front and asked him where it was he then told me that they had sold it on Saturday after I left which I left at 5 pm when they close and that they stayed open late till 6:30pm to sell the truck. And that I was no longer able to buy from them because what I had said about the bbb no mind you I did not raise my voice use bad language or any of that. Now is that customer service? It was the worse car buying experience ever!!!! The truck that we drove 2 1/2 hours to test drive should not have been on their lot. It was NOT drivable. The truck over heated, wouldn't shift, not power, antifreeze smell made us sick. It barely had enough power to make it up hills. It was dangerous. When we got back from our drive we told them all of the issues as smoke was rolling out of the hood. They did not seem concerned and actually made it into a joke. Because we drove 2 1/2 hours we decided to go ahead and look at a few other trucks while we were there and they were all junk. The worse part is that once that truck cooled down, they just parked it right back to where they got it. And they wanted $15,000.00. What a joke!!! If their mechanics knew anything about vehicles, that truck should not have been on the lot to sell or test drive. Very disappointed and will never buy a vehicle from them.
