Shrimp tempura on a Korean roll w/ a side of fried rice.

I've been on island a week. Best food I've had. Food truck located in a small park. Worth walking around the area.

These musubi bombs were one of the best meals I had on our trip. Also very reasonably priced too.

I'm not a huge fan of food trucks. I always wonder where do they go to the bathroom in there all day? But, you want some homemade fast food to go, there's a bunch of them parked in Koloa town. I trie Dim 'N' Den Sum's popular combo plate: gyoza, shumai, coconut shrimp, pork bun, egg roll, and potato mac salad ($14). Everything was tasty, and I enjoyed it. I rarely eat deep-fried food from a truck, but it was only slightly heartburn inducing, so four stars.

This food truck off of Koloa (along with a congregation of food trucks nearby) was a cool find just 5 minutes from our hotel at Koloa Landing! And with a Dim Sum Deluxe pack with all the menu's offerings for just $15, the price point ain't bad either! It was a perfect shareable plate with my SO. The lady working the truck kindly cut the 1 egg roll in half for us, and we ordered a second steamed manapua (porkbun) so we each could have one. We enjoyed all the food, and struck the gong on the exterior of the truck afterwards to signal our enjoyment! Also nearby is an unbelievably large banyan tree (pictured), a congregation of chickens, and a little bit of history: the Old Sugar Mill, and memorial to those who worked the mill. Definitely worth checking out!

Hands down, one of the best food trucks in Kauai! So good, we had to visit the food truck again before leaving the island. The owners were super nice and tentative. Food came out quick and steaming hot. The quality of the food, you can tell it's made from scratch and not frozen. We ordered the Dim Sum Pack and everything on the plate was amazing. The plate came with 2 pcs. Steamed shumai, 2 pcs. Fried lumpia, 2 pcs. Fried chicken gyoza, 1 steamed manapua. Customer service: 10/10. Food: 10/10

I was recommended this food truck from a local I met in Waikiki. She said this food truck had the best dishes. She was right! We ordered the dim sum pack, the furikake fries, and the mahi sandwich. The dim sum pack was very tasty. It includes har gow, a char siu bao, fried potstickers, ebi fry panko shrimp, and spam fried rice. All of the food we ordered was delicious. If you order the mahi sandwich, I highly recommend ordering it with avocado. The furikake fries were nice and crispy, and the sauce was a perfect balance. The furikake gave it a nice umami flavor. The owner is so kind and friendly! Please be kind to her and say hello. She also provides you with a wide selection of sauces for your food. We were able to eat our food at some park benches by the truck. It was a nice shaded area, shared with a few other trucks. Enjoy the nice scenery while you have your meal!

Oxymoron: Kauai and Dim Sum. How about Dim sum food truck in Kauai? Open 11am-3pm, or earlier if they run out of food. Menu changes every day. Ordered the $10 Dim Sum Pack. Ready in about 7 minutes. Comes on a paper plate covered with aluminum foil. The 2 pork shumai came with maximum meat, under a tightly wrapped won ton skin, but not too much flavor until you put soy sauce on it. The char-siu pork manapua was oversized with dough, but had a decent pork filling taste, definitely on the sweet side. The 2 shanghai lumpia was almost too thin to see the meat inside, and had too much outer covering for the amount of meat inside. The 2 shrimp tempura were fine, a bit dry as to be expected, and went well with the sweet chili dipping sauce The 2 pork gyoza was also a bit dry, and on the small side, but tasty. Disappointed that they have no pork belly bao today. Best dim sum in Kauai? Yes, but only because it is the only dim sum in Kauai.

Located in a park with multiple other food trucks, but only half were open on a Monday. I wanted something different than the norm so I chose Dim n Dem Sum. Met all my expectations for a satisfying lunch. I chose the shumai stick (3 steamed pork dumplings topped w/wasabi aioli and green onions) and eggrolls (pork and vegetables). I was worried that the wasabi aioli might be very spicy but it was very mild. Everything was flavorful and filling. Service was a one-woman show and she handled it! She had my food out faster than the truck my husband ordered from. The area is surrounded by lots of tables, plenty of shade and so many hens and their chicks. I was even visited by a red crested cardinal which is exciting for a bird nerd like me

Yoshi is amazing. He catered my family and friends of 50 people and not only did he not disappoint, he blew everyone away with the quality of taste, freshness and not to mention incredible hospitable service. Only thing I wish I had done differently was order more pork belly bao!!! We had poke, kenji burgers, ginger fried chicken, coconut shrimp, short ribs, chicken katsu and more. This is my fifth time eating from Yoshi and Dim n Den Sum and definitely won't be the last time. Top recommendation for anyone visiting the island and well worth the drive from the north shore.

After wanting to try this place, we finally went! (They we're actually open on my day off). We ordered their poke bowl, tempura sushi, crab sandwich and the pork Katsu bao! The poke bowl was delicious .. so much flavor! The tempura sushi was just as good. I didn't try the crab sandwich since that was the BFs but he enjoyed it. I had some of the fries, and that was great too! Had a little kick to it the pork Katsu bao was delicious too! Nothing bad to say about our experience there! Found some local food trucks and had to try a few things. The feathers and fins plate was good, but the fish tasted a little fishier than other places in town. The chicken was very tasty and juicy. Best Fish & Chips on Kauai hands down! Love trying Kauai's new foods trucks so today i tried their beer battered mahi-mahi fish and chips with spicy french fries cooked perfectly. Also tried fried manapua! Crunchy outside soft and tender on the inside that was made to order hot and fresh! Wait time was about 10-15mins right in Old Koloa Town close to shops and supermarkets so shopping while you wait made it go by quickly and convenient. I will be back for another round very soon!! read more

Being a resident of Los Angeles, I've had my share of good food, especially at good food trucks. Dim N Den Sum certainly exceeded my expectations - the food was fresh, delicious, and innovative (at least from personal experience). You can't go wrong with the pork belly bao buns, but I would probably say my favorite was the soft shell crab sandwich, and the togarashi fries it comes with are to die for. Definitely worth checking out if you're ever on the island! It's also run by an extremely friendly couple, which is always a bonus :) read more

So good! We had the Dim Sum combination and a poke bowl. While the poke bowl was a little heavy on the salt, the edamame in the combo and the little stuffed rolls and dim sum were delicious. I wanted to go back before we went to the airport but no such luck. read more

Dim N Den Sum is the newest food truck on the South Side, we know the owners since they also run a very well known sushi bar in Lihue. We tried almost everything on the menu Poke Bowl which had the freshest Ahi & the most amazing Salmon I've ever had! I got a double order of the Sushi Special which was like a deep fried California Roll with yummy sauces on top. The Pork Belly Bao were cooked perfectly & tasted great. Also got a double order of the hot & crispy Pork Lumpia & finally the Somen Salad which was a big portion & we shared between 3 people. Highly recommended for fresh food & friendly service! So I ordered 2 plates . The shrimp on skewers and the pork dumplings . The shrimp still had the heads on them . No problem! But I got part of the sheath stuck in my throat and more caught in my teeth. It was a little rough , I'm not gonna lie. I needed to get a bottled water . This is a food truck that was recommended. Arrived after 2 pm still on PST and much of the selections they had, they had run out of. Had the poke bowl which was very good. I recommend you come early. Picnic tables nearby to eat at. read more

This was the most amazing coconut shrimp I've ever tasted and at that price point you can't lose. The crunch, the flavor, the freshness of the catch....this is what fried seafood is supposed to taste like. The fries were fine but after that coconut shrimp I honestly didn't even care much about the fries. Do whatever it takes to get here!! read more

Dim N Den Sum was tasty and the owner was super friendly! I ordered the dim sum and she even gave me an extra free! We ordered the crab sandwich which was crispy and delicious and when I saw the fries someone else got, I went back and ordered the fish and chips which were fried to perfection! The togarashi fries have a kick though, so get an extra drink! read more

Pork buns to rival David Chang's at Momofuku. Great poke bowl! Crab sandwich was solidly tasty with nice spicy togarashi fries, but not as good as the first two items. If you only pick two things, get the pork bao and poke. read more

What a disappointment! Based on the reviews and their claim to be an award winning food truck we were excited to try it. Being a big fan of soft shell crab, I had to try their sandwich. Unfortunately, it was hands down the worst soft shell crab I have ever had - very strong fishy taste. We also tried the tempera vegetables which were one of their specials. The vegetables were severely overlooked as if they forgot about them in the frier. The lone bright spot was the seasoned fries which were quite tasty but just not enough to overcome the problems with everything else. If this is truly one of the best on the island then I feel for the locals as this truck would finish near the bottom in a contest against even average food trucks. read more

Delicious, friendly and definitely worth stopping at! Very reasonably priced! Pork belly bay buns were delicious, crab sandwich and shu Mai stick was yummy! They serve fries that are seasoned with the sandwich, hubby loved them. I liked them unseasoned which they were happy to oblige. Food is fresh and piping hot! read more

ABSOLUTELY delish yummers.....went several times, raved so much about it sister and her family tried and were hooked just as easily as I was. We started our little food truck in Koloa, HI in 2017 after so many of you asked to be more than just a catering company (Yonemura Sushi Catering) Specializing in Asian street food and then some. Voted best food truck on Kauai during this years battle of the food truck competition.

The market looked and smelled clean. The employees were friendly and helpful. We ordered a pound of octopus and a half pound of salmon poke. This is a great portable meal for the beach which we did. The color also wasn't the correct shade of green for good quality matcha, but I'm someone who likes to make my matcha at home and rarely find ones at coffee shops that I actually like, so take my review with that in mind, if you're a casual matcha drinking then you would like their version. It doesn't dry your tongue out or have a bitter taste. The following day I decided to try their coffee and ordered a hot vanilla oat milk latte. It was just okay, the espresso is a little more on the acidic side and I couldn't taste any vanilla flavor. Definitely not the worst latte I've had in Hawaii, but for the cost of lattes nowadays, I wouldn't come back to try more of their menu until I try other local coffee shops first. Pros: Plenty of parking right out front, good amount of seating inside, clean bathrooms, wifi, they sell their coffee beans and merchandise including shirts and hats which are super cute, there is also a small shop inside the same building that sells clothing/candles/bags/etc and the store employee is super nice

THIS was the closest thing to home for me. The ice was actually soft and fluffy like real shave ice should be, and the flavors tasted nostalgic in the best way. One bite immediately transported me back to hanabada days. Also, after I rolled up in muddy-ass clothes, sis working there took one look at me and hit me with the kamaʻāina discount without hesitation . That honestly healed something in me. No questions asked. At that point I knew the shave ice was gonna be good because locals can sense when someone grew up eating shave ice instead of "shaved ice." 10/10. Bumbai I come again.

Not sure why yelp keeps putting my review on the "currently not recommended" but here is my original review. We were one of there first customers. Hello Yelpers!! We stumbled upon this place while visiting Koloa Town, Koloa is known for being Hawaii's oldest Sugar Cane Mill just for you history buff's. There location is right across from Sueoka store in Koloa, you can't miss the bright truck with the Octopus on the side. It was painted by a local artist and looks phenomenal. I was greeted by one of the owners, she said her name was Lynn, her husbands name was Yoshi who does the cooking. She had a great attitude and asked us how our vacation was, she even gave us recommendations on where to go while we were here. Here was our order: Tempura Sushi Roll, Pork Belly Bao, Poke Bowl and Cold Noodle Salad. (I was quite skeptical about ordering sushi and raw fish from a food truck, but she reassured me that her husband has been doing sushi for 9 years and has a sushi bar on Kauai too!) Tempura Sushi: It was a mix of imitation crab and avocado, they fried it in panko and served it with a couple of sauces. Flavor was perfect. Five Stars! Pork Belly Bao: The bao's were perfectly steamed and included 3 big pieces of pork per bao, accompanied by hoisin sauce, pickled cucumber/carrot and cilantro. This was such a delight. Five Stars! Poke Bowl: The quality off the fish was to die for. Lynn mentioned the salmon was from Scotland and they only bring in the highest quality of fish. She wasn't joking. Flavor was superb and when topped with the sriracha aioli it had the perfect balance of flavor. We even talked to other couple who ordered this dish and they were in awe. Five Stars! Cold Noodle Salad: Our daughter is vegetarian and this was her dish. The noodles were perfectly cooked and served with carrots, cucumber, spam (we asked to take this out) and thinly cut egg. The portion size was huge and we took it home, the dressing was a nice balance of sweet and tangy. Although this is my first review on Yelp, I am a serious foodie and would highly recommend anyone to this food truck. Service and Food/Presentation (Yes out of a food truck!!) were things we could only dream of back home.
