Shrimp tempura on a Korean roll w/ a side of fried rice.

I've been on island a week. Best food I've had. Food truck located in a small park. Worth walking around the area.

These musubi bombs were one of the best meals I had on our trip. Also very reasonably priced too.

I'm not a huge fan of food trucks. I always wonder where do they go to the bathroom in there all day? But, you want some homemade fast food to go, there's a bunch of them parked in Koloa town. I trie Dim 'N' Den Sum's popular combo plate: gyoza, shumai, coconut shrimp, pork bun, egg roll, and potato mac salad ($14). Everything was tasty, and I enjoyed it. I rarely eat deep-fried food from a truck, but it was only slightly heartburn inducing, so four stars.

This food truck off of Koloa (along with a congregation of food trucks nearby) was a cool find just 5 minutes from our hotel at Koloa Landing! And with a Dim Sum Deluxe pack with all the menu's offerings for just $15, the price point ain't bad either! It was a perfect shareable plate with my SO. The lady working the truck kindly cut the 1 egg roll in half for us, and we ordered a second steamed manapua (porkbun) so we each could have one. We enjoyed all the food, and struck the gong on the exterior of the truck afterwards to signal our enjoyment! Also nearby is an unbelievably large banyan tree (pictured), a congregation of chickens, and a little bit of history: the Old Sugar Mill, and memorial to those who worked the mill. Definitely worth checking out!

Hands down, one of the best food trucks in Kauai! So good, we had to visit the food truck again before leaving the island. The owners were super nice and tentative. Food came out quick and steaming hot. The quality of the food, you can tell it's made from scratch and not frozen. We ordered the Dim Sum Pack and everything on the plate was amazing. The plate came with 2 pcs. Steamed shumai, 2 pcs. Fried lumpia, 2 pcs. Fried chicken gyoza, 1 steamed manapua. Customer service: 10/10. Food: 10/10

I was recommended this food truck from a local I met in Waikiki. She said this food truck had the best dishes. She was right! We ordered the dim sum pack, the furikake fries, and the mahi sandwich. The dim sum pack was very tasty. It includes har gow, a char siu bao, fried potstickers, ebi fry panko shrimp, and spam fried rice. All of the food we ordered was delicious. If you order the mahi sandwich, I highly recommend ordering it with avocado. The furikake fries were nice and crispy, and the sauce was a perfect balance. The furikake gave it a nice umami flavor. The owner is so kind and friendly! Please be kind to her and say hello. She also provides you with a wide selection of sauces for your food. We were able to eat our food at some park benches by the truck. It was a nice shaded area, shared with a few other trucks. Enjoy the nice scenery while you have your meal!

Oxymoron: Kauai and Dim Sum. How about Dim sum food truck in Kauai? Open 11am-3pm, or earlier if they run out of food. Menu changes every day. Ordered the $10 Dim Sum Pack. Ready in about 7 minutes. Comes on a paper plate covered with aluminum foil. The 2 pork shumai came with maximum meat, under a tightly wrapped won ton skin, but not too much flavor until you put soy sauce on it. The char-siu pork manapua was oversized with dough, but had a decent pork filling taste, definitely on the sweet side. The 2 shanghai lumpia was almost too thin to see the meat inside, and had too much outer covering for the amount of meat inside. The 2 shrimp tempura were fine, a bit dry as to be expected, and went well with the sweet chili dipping sauce The 2 pork gyoza was also a bit dry, and on the small side, but tasty. Disappointed that they have no pork belly bao today. Best dim sum in Kauai? Yes, but only because it is the only dim sum in Kauai.

Located in a park with multiple other food trucks, but only half were open on a Monday. I wanted something different than the norm so I chose Dim n Dem Sum. Met all my expectations for a satisfying lunch. I chose the shumai stick (3 steamed pork dumplings topped w/wasabi aioli and green onions) and eggrolls (pork and vegetables). I was worried that the wasabi aioli might be very spicy but it was very mild. Everything was flavorful and filling. Service was a one-woman show and she handled it! She had my food out faster than the truck my husband ordered from. The area is surrounded by lots of tables, plenty of shade and so many hens and their chicks. I was even visited by a red crested cardinal which is exciting for a bird nerd like me

Yoshi is amazing. He catered my family and friends of 50 people and not only did he not disappoint, he blew everyone away with the quality of taste, freshness and not to mention incredible hospitable service. Only thing I wish I had done differently was order more pork belly bao!!! We had poke, kenji burgers, ginger fried chicken, coconut shrimp, short ribs, chicken katsu and more. This is my fifth time eating from Yoshi and Dim n Den Sum and definitely won't be the last time. Top recommendation for anyone visiting the island and well worth the drive from the north shore.

came here to try their shrimp tempura roll, but they were sold out. decided to stay and try something else and it was a great decision to stay. made to order food, fresh taste, and a lot of flavor. the crab sandwich was very crunchy, flavored well, and not oily. the dim sum pack comes with edamame, 2 small manapua, 2 pork hash, and 2 coconut shrimp. OH MA GUUUUD,,, the coconut shrimp is booomb! so much flavor! the coconut flavor is yummmmy! I was so looking forward to this place. We ordered the dim sum pack, shumai stick and tempura sushi. Let start with the good: the pork bao was delicious. However, the filling was so scant. The bao alone though would make this place 5 stars! Now for the not so good: The shumai was soggy and pretty flavorless. The tempura sushi was so clever, and GIANT! I wasn't too impressed with the flavor, though. The poor woman was solo and very stressed. She kept apologizing to everyone. That was nice but unnecessary; this is Hawai'i and we aren't in a rush (most people were tourists and just excited for the food and we're locals just looking for an excuse to do nothing). read more

Loved the shumai on a stick, and the deep fried manapua! Great flavor. I can't wait to try other options next time. I just wish they were open on weekends since i want to take my family, and the only reason i was able to eat was because i had work in koloa. The musubi was good, but tastes like a regular musubi, just crunchy. read more

SO GOOD. It was our last day in Kaua'i and we decided to stop at this little park with food trucks and we came across this one. It's located in the old Koloa town. The wait was VERY short, lots of tables open. I had never ate a soft shell crab before so I got the soft shell crab sandwich($12) SOO GOOD, even the fries was awesome. I also had the deep fried musubi($5) for my son but... it ended up in my tummy instead! read more

Yes, it's a food truck but the food is as good as any Asian street food or dim sum I've eaten - anywhere! I took takeout back to our hotel but there are also picnic tables in the adjacent park. We had the Dim Sum Pack (Steamed Pork Shumai, Mini Manapua, Coconut Shrimp & Furikake Edamame), Fried Musubi, Shu Mai Stick, Fried mini Manapua, and the Tempura Shrimp Bao. It was all fantastic! If I had to pick the most fantastic it would be the Tempura Shrimp Bao and the Fried Musubi. I could eat this every week and if I were there today I would place the same order again! What an Asian street food feast and den sum!!! Check their Facebook page for the daily menu and go early as they run out. read more

We hired Dim N Den Sum to cater our wedding and the food was phenomenal! We had several people tell us it was the best wedding food they have ever had. They made the best beef bulgolgi bao buns I have ever had. They also made amazing coconut fried shrimp, veggie spring rolls, Korean fried chicken sandwiches, pulled pork sliders and a poke bar. Every single dish was so delicious. On top of that it ended up pouring almost the entire day and they did an amazing job rolling with the punches due to the weather. Hiring them for our wedding was definitely one of the very best decisions we made and we are so grateful for all their hard work. read more

Ate here twice this week! Fantastic food truck, killer eats! Menu changes daily, everything was hot, fresh and super flavorful. My kids loved everything, we grabbed it to go and hit the beach to eat. You will not be disappointed! Over the 2 days we got the mahi mahi sandwich, kimchi burger, egg rolls, dim sum stack, shrimp tempura bowl, Teri-chicken plate and fish and fries as well as shrimp baos and manapua buns. Everything was outstanding. Great food at a reasonable price and you are supporting a local business. read more

Omg... I know I start most of my reviews with this saying, but this is most "OMG" out of them all thus far..... this food truck in Kauai is just incredible!!! I got the fried Musubi and spam....my wife, not a fan of spam or musubi, loved this!!! It's only $5!!! The owners are incredibly nice, a couple making great food. They're also hockey fans! Hard to find on the island, I won't say what team they like because I don't want them to lose business because of the team selection. Hockey fans are hardcore... The food is out of control and the price is to good to be true. Love this food. Coming back every single time every single year. You kick ass guys. Thanks for your great food and hospitality. Fries and gravy was okay, fries were overdone and pretty crispy, but the Deluxe Burger for $5 was surprisingly good. I'd go back and get it again if there weren't so many other foods and places on our list of places to visit. read more

Unfortunately giving this place 3 stars because the poke bowl was really underwhelming and not nearly as good as other poke bowls we had in the area from Makai Sushi and Koloa Fish Market. The poke bowl didn't use ahi tuna either (not sure what kind of fish it was). The deep-fried sushi was actually really good, fried to perfection, and the portion size was very generous. But at the end of the day it was still just a California roll that was fried and felt a bit heavy/unhealthy. read more

I've been dying to try this and I'm so glad that they ended up opening in the afternoon (12pm) Apparently we were expected heavy rains and since it was a no show their food truck was a go! I had the bao buns. Personally, I don't care for cilantro so I had mine without but the pork belly melts in your mouth. It was delicious. Second, I had the tempura roll. Just like the movie, as good as it gets!!!!! Our very good friend Glen K strongly suggested we try this food truck out on our next Kauai visit, boy we are glad we did. The braised pork belly bao special was da bomb! For those that like this cut of pork you will have died and entered the porky gates! Local couple have poured a lot of love into their food truck, friendly and showing lots of Aloha they cater to everyone with kindness. The chef shared a little of the prep work necessary for this creation starting with a Saki marinate for 5 hours! You get two portions per order, lots of pork belly topped off with cilantro pickled cucumbers and a little hoisin sauce just for da flavor. They are located as you enter Koloa, make the effort to eat here, you will not be disappointed. read more

We stood outside the window for 10 minutes while the young woman working inside cooking food talked on her cell phone. She was chatting with a friend about drama and kept dropping the F bomb. At one point, she made direct eye contact with us, but kept talking and cooking. Can't give it a good rating if you can't deliver at least reasonable customer service. I got the coconut shrimp and poke bowl. The shrimp were delicious and perfectly crispy. The poke bowl was PACKED, both in volume and flavor. Their poke bowl includes a few different kinds of fish. Great food, friendly service, will definitely be back. read more

First food truck I've eaten from since moving to Koloa, Kauai. I had the tofu poke bowl. Omg so delicious! The tofu was topped with some taste sweet and creamy sauces that I added some extra sriracha to, on top of seaweed salad and perfectly seasoned sushi rice. I scarfed it with chopsticks in like 10 minutes! I feel like it will be my new addiction. Next time I will take a picture before wolfing it down. Yum! read more

Had a small bite of my husbands soft shell crab sandwich (kinda afraid to try), it was pretty good, mild and with a delicate briny taste of the ocean. Nothing too gross. I enjoyed my dim sum, chicken spring rolls and charsui manapua. Very tasty but i must admit im still hungry. I think my husbands sandwich and seasoned fries would have satisfied my tummy more so. Will be back to try more goodies! read more

Seriously good. Be prepared to wait a bit as it's a small operation (or call your order in ahead of time) but trust me, it's worth the wait. The shrimp & fries with coconut shrimp is fantastic and so are the fried manapua. I also saw folks enjoying the fried crab sandwich which we can't wait to try next time. read more

Went to this food truck for lunch expecting more dim sum choices, but they only had shu-mai, which were actually more like wontons. However, the other choices I tried - coconut shrimp, ahi poke bowl, fried ahi sushi roll were all super delicious. Everything tasted like it was cooked to order. The lunch plates range in price from $12-15, so it's more like $$. If you really want dim sum, you'll be disappointed. But if you want some delicious fried stuff, this place will hit the spot. read more

What a great place. Food is fresh and prepared quickly although who's in a hurry here? Salads are large and tasty. Add the tofu or the egg rolls and you've got it rocking. The animal are very tasty and piping hot as they reside on their skewers. We were disappointed and left feeling satisfied. There are a lot of other choices so we'll have to go back soon. read more

Great coconut shrimp here. I ordered it with out fries for $8 but you can add fries for $12. There are a series of food trucks here so if you have people that never agree on food choices you have options of D*Greens bbq, Kauai food Truck or Naruto Noodles as well. My friend combo plate with fish shrimp and calamari and ahe loved it as well. From afar it looks like there is seating only in the sun but there is tons behind the Big chimney in the shade. Went for lunch and got the Marlin poke bowl. Was so good we drove back the next day and got another one, with some dumplings and tempura sushi. All for $25. Check this place out if you're on the island. read more

We started our little food truck in Koloa, HI in 2017 after so many of you asked to be more than just a catering company (Yonemura Sushi Catering) Specializing in Asian street food and then some. Voted best food truck on Kauai during this years battle of the food truck competition.

It was fresh but lack the complexity that I have grown to expect from this restaurant. We requested some wasabi and it helped with the flavors. My thinking is the jalapeño oil should have been more concentrated or pronounced. To be clear I did not complain, regardless the dish was removed from our bill. Very nice. Thank you. The front desk staff guided me to the elevator. This trip was for my birthday. In every reservation when asked about a special occasion, I put birthday. This was the first restaurant to acknowledge my special day. The check-in staff wished me well as did the server. We had been to several restaurants prior to Eating House that didn't say a word. Kudos to the staff for its kindness. The restaurant is open air and very comfortable. It has a rustic feel. We were seated by the window on a cool, rainy night but were perfectly dry the whole evening. On top of that, our server was very helpful in guiding us to order the right amount of food. He brought us a serving of edamame which is always on the house. The shrimp & pork potstickers were very good. I had the ramen which was tasty, filling and a great choice. Our server was terrific to put the spicy oil on the side which made it easier for me to eat. My husband had the butterfish which is the best I have ever tasted. It is a signature dish and always a pleaser. The only real downside is the limited menu. We were told that because of a staff shortage, it wasn't the typical menu. This was disappointing. But they did have the best of the Roy's dishes. So far, it has been the best experience that we have had in Poipu.

The host said to wait in the lobby while they waited for a 4 person table to free up. 20 minutes later after seeing many people leave the restaurant I figured there had to be a table available so I went and asked the hostess what the status was and they said they didn't know we were waiting for a table. The hostess said "nobody told me" Uhh... hello? You took my phone number and I received an opentable text that I had a reservation. Who is telling who? It should be in your system in front of you. The hostess shrugged and said sorry. The infuriating part of this was sitting there in the waiting area being ignored by all the staff while watching the hostesses and the valet parking guys flirt and talk gossip. We were obviously not a priority and they were "checked out" for the evening since it was almost closing time. They did finally seat us and we ordered the mai-tais, but sadly they were not the same. The foam (which is what makes the mai tai so great) was really sour - not the same as you can get from the original restaurant. More broadly, I thought with this being such a nice restaurant, they would make more of an attempt to say they were sorry about ignoring us, but they didn't. I swear this is a hidden gem in Poipu, where prices at most restaurants are through the roof for mediocre food and service. Our favorite dish on the menu here is the seared ahi tacos, and the kids love their teriyaki chicken and rice bowls--it is so nice to finally see something besides chicken tenders or fries on a kid's menu! It doesn't dry your tongue out or have a bitter taste. The following day I decided to try their coffee and ordered a hot vanilla oat milk latte. It was just okay, the espresso is a little more on the acidic side and I couldn't taste any vanilla flavor. Definitely not the worst latte I've had in Hawaii, but for the cost of lattes nowadays, I wouldn't come back to try more of their menu until I try other local coffee shops first. Pros: Plenty of parking right out front, good amount of seating inside, clean bathrooms, wifi, they sell their coffee beans and merchandise including shirts and hats which are super cute, there is also a small shop inside the same building that sells clothing/candles/bags/etc and the store employee is super nice

I tried a bunch of highly rated spots around Poipu and kept having that same experience where you take one bite and immediately think, "Oh... this is for tourists." But JoJo's? THIS was the closest thing to home for me. The ice was actually soft and fluffy like real shave ice should be, and the flavors tasted nostalgic in the best way. One bite immediately transported me back to hanabada days. Also, after I rolled up in muddy-ass clothes, sis working there took one look at me and hit me with the kamaʻāina discount without hesitation . That honestly healed something in me. No questions asked. At that point I knew the shave ice was gonna be good because locals can sense when someone grew up eating shave ice instead of "shaved ice." 10/10. Bumbai I come again.

Not sure why yelp keeps putting my review on the "currently not recommended" but here is my original review. We were one of there first customers. Hello Yelpers!! We stumbled upon this place while visiting Koloa Town, Koloa is known for being Hawaii's oldest Sugar Cane Mill just for you history buff's. There location is right across from Sueoka store in Koloa, you can't miss the bright truck with the Octopus on the side. It was painted by a local artist and looks phenomenal. I was greeted by one of the owners, she said her name was Lynn, her husbands name was Yoshi who does the cooking. She had a great attitude and asked us how our vacation was, she even gave us recommendations on where to go while we were here. Here was our order: Tempura Sushi Roll, Pork Belly Bao, Poke Bowl and Cold Noodle Salad. (I was quite skeptical about ordering sushi and raw fish from a food truck, but she reassured me that her husband has been doing sushi for 9 years and has a sushi bar on Kauai too!) Tempura Sushi: It was a mix of imitation crab and avocado, they fried it in panko and served it with a couple of sauces. Flavor was perfect. Five Stars! Pork Belly Bao: The bao's were perfectly steamed and included 3 big pieces of pork per bao, accompanied by hoisin sauce, pickled cucumber/carrot and cilantro. This was such a delight. Five Stars! Poke Bowl: The quality off the fish was to die for. Lynn mentioned the salmon was from Scotland and they only bring in the highest quality of fish. She wasn't joking. Flavor was superb and when topped with the sriracha aioli it had the perfect balance of flavor. We even talked to other couple who ordered this dish and they were in awe. Five Stars! Cold Noodle Salad: Our daughter is vegetarian and this was her dish. The noodles were perfectly cooked and served with carrots, cucumber, spam (we asked to take this out) and thinly cut egg. The portion size was huge and we took it home, the dressing was a nice balance of sweet and tangy. Although this is my first review on Yelp, I am a serious foodie and would highly recommend anyone to this food truck. Service and Food/Presentation (Yes out of a food truck!!) were things we could only dream of back home. They only have outdoor seating, but let the cool breeze take you over as you enjoy these delicious dishes. I hope you all try out this newest food truck to Koloa and tell them Kimmy says Hi! read more
