I am not a Mediterranean food expert by any means, but what I have had before was great. I was very disappointed in the this food. I really wanted to like this place, but this was not the case. We are definitely foodies, but no one in our family found anything that they thought was great. My son said the coffee was really good. Even the baklava was bad. To top it off they had a child running around the kitchen. If you are looking for quantity and not quality this is your place. Just be ready to pay out the nose. It was $90 something for the 4 of us. Dimassi's was recommended to me by my Uber driver who just raved about it so I had to try. I was wary because reviews were either 5 stars or 1 star...hmmm. Rest assured the food is delish. The 5 stars I'm giving are in comparison to other buffets. First let me talk about the cleanliness. Don't be put off by the entrance, as it could use a refresh. But the restrooms and restaurant itself were spotless. I loved that they have hand sanitizer and gloves at the food station. The array of fresh salads was great as well as hot dishes. The only thing I didn't see was lamb. I thoroughly enjoyed my food and my friend also loved that everything was so flavorful. Cost was about $22 on weekend. Wow!!! I am in disbelief as I was traveling through and wanted something healthy and saw this on Yelp as on my way out of Houston. Greek Buffett had me scratching my head, but so glad I stopped in, Amazing selection and the quality is top notch. No waiters you get it all yourself and while I was coming towards the end or the night the majority of the food looked fresh and really tasted fabulous. I would say my only real complaint is I wish they had pita, but they made up for it with countless salads and hummus options and the lamb was very flavorful. It looks like they have locations all over Texas and are opening on in California. I cannot see how this would not be worth building in every state in America. Wow. I've been wanting to visit this location. For a while but I haven't had the opportunity to be on this side of town in a while. I took a scheduled day off work to enjoy this day. I didn't eat breakfast and we headed her about 11am. It was like brunch for us. I stated by trying a little of all the salads. They were all tasty. The toom was not as garlicky and lemony as I'm used too but it did the job. They had 3 different kinds of rice. All of them were super yummy. I tasted small pieces of the meat they were all delicious . I enjoyed everything. I would definitely come back again. I was stuffed after coming here. I had to let my sister know next time we will come here. Hear me out.... This place is awesome if you like to eat with Knats and fruit flies. The food was just ok... But I could have dealt with that by it being a buffet you could just keep eating all your favorites... But there were so many Knats that me and my husband didn't even finish our 1st plate. Pros: easy parking, a lot of food choices, and staff was friendly. Also, the signs clearly specified which food was vegetarian and gluten-free. Also, there were sanitizers and gloves. Cons: The food was nothing special. Lentils in lentil rice weren't cooked all the way, and tamarind water plus rice pudding had a really weird chemical smell and taste. I love middle eastern food! Here you can pick and choose your favorites or try them all. I especially liked the baba ghanoj, chicken with sumac, kifta, gyro meat, cauliflower, rose water, mango tea, and namura. Everyone working here speaks Arabic so it's very authentic! Service was amazing we were greeted nicely and even other employees were down for small conversation and very welcoming. The food was fresh and flavorful, especially the salad section. I loved how they had cards with the name of the food and the description of ingredients. I would prefer if it was reorganized so you can more easily build your plate with the meat and other things first, then the salad, so it would be easier to use it as a topping on your pita, rather than getting it first and having to scoop it up. read more

I give this place a strong four. Pretty simple setup. Walk in, grab a table and some food, or do it in reverse. I went when they opened at 11 and the place was empty. But that changed quickly over the time I was there. Still there was plenty of room. There's no wait staff so everything is on you. And it works just fine for eating here. There's a lot of strong meals here. And a salad bar. Let me start with the pita bread. If you can get it hot when it first comes out that oven, it's divine. I sat at the table right near it so I could see. Probably a mistake as it's very dense so I'm sure it filled me up sooner than I would have been otherwise, but it's really that good. Stuff it with something, dip it in something, or just eat it by itself. You won't be disappointed. All of the dishes I tried were good. I got a bit of everything. One thing I will say is a decent bit of the food was cold. I am sure it was probably from being on top as the trays are piled pretty high, so if you can dig closer to the bottom unless you see them refilling it. It doesn't seem like they use heat lamps up top and the top layer of food gets cold. A tip I saw I here that was helpful is that the salad plates are large, but the plates closer to the meats and stuff are small. So grab one of those salad plates if you want to load up. The drinks are at the end of the line along with the utensils. No sweet tea but there is unsweet and sugar. A downside to no waitstaff is plates pile up on your table. Not a big deal for me but if you're used to eating a buffets where they are constantly removed they won't be here. I know I'll definitely be back. Not only is it near my house but the food was good. I personally have only visited this new location, and the old location here in San Antonio which unfortunately has been permanently closed down. After several persistent persuading from my partner, we finally decided to visit this new location on a Monday afternoon. There was not that many people around the time we visited, and the food is fresh and quality. The only problem I had though is the lamb shank/any lamb meats were not made available at all. Well it was OK. We give it a try again every year or two. Its hot, even at 11 in the morning. They dont turn on the AC until people complain. The floors are slippery because there is no air moving to dry them from mopping. Its kind of a sad ambiance with no music playing, just people shuffling in. Staring. For a buffet, its really boring. The desserts are bland and boring. No imagination in the whole place. You have to wait for the woman to take your money as she waaaalks across the whole place because she has been in the back.... This was my first visit here.. I don't know much about Mediterranean food. This spot is buffet style... you serve yourself...they have many choices from Yummy salads and veggie specialties to rice with chicken or lamb or beef... Grape leaves stuffed with rice and meats and a meatball nicely sweet and salty .. curry with chicken... a few desserts as well... your drink is included in your meal ... price is about $18 person prices vary depending on time of day so maybe more in the evening...the spot is nice and clean the food good.. it lacks ambiance though hence 4 stars instead of 5... this is a good place to find out what you do and don't like for Mediterranean food... also no service really because you wait in yourself but those I spoke to were all very polite... enjoy this spot. read more

We came at around 1 o'clock, a typical lunch time. However when we looked at the food the pizza there looked like it had been sitting there since last week. Most of the food we had was room temperature, and some of the chicken was actually raw. The only thing that I had that I personally enjoyed was the water. It was nice and cold and luckily not room temperature. There was no cooking going on and the whole time we were there, there was not a single new container of fresh food. This newest DiMassi's location along I-10 (the old Zio's) was our first experience with a Mediterranean-style buffet, and the food was quite good! Lots to choose from, from a variety of salads, dips, pita breads, several types of rice, potatoes, and meat dishes, even pizza, fried chicken, fried fish, and desserts like baklava. You can even get lamb shank by request, one per person (extra portion is listed at 9.99 each). The nice thing about this buffet is that there are plenty of healthy options, even if you're following low carb or keto-type lifestyle changes. Other typical buffets don't usually make that easy. All of the chicken dishes we tried were really good. Some are bone-in so just be wary of that. The lamb shank was tasty. It did have that "gamey" flavor but, for those who don't know, that flavor resides in the fat and is brought on by enzymatic changes during the cooking process BUT if that's not a flavor you like, just cut away the fat and the meat underneath should be fine. Tip: add potatoes and/or rice to your shank plate to soak up some of the delicious juices! But back to the review... We really enjoyed the chicken kabob cubes, the kofte, and meatballs, too. Loved the roasted cauliflower! Soft and tender. Wasn't a fan of the breading on the fried fish as it seemed to lack seasoning, so didn't bother to try the fried chicken. Hummus was great but the pita wasn't the best I've had. Don't know if it's the flour or what, but definitely had more of a firm bread-like taste and consistency as opposed to soft and fluffy pitas. Still good enough for dipping! Falafel was ok. Baklava and desserts were light on nuts and heavy on sogginess. This happens when you store baklava covered. I don't see how there's any way to avoid that in this type of environment but it still tasted good. Turkish coffee would have been perfect with it. What it offers in good food, it lacks in atmosphere. Very much "cafeteria" style from seating yourself and helping yourself. Zero tableside service apart from the occasional clearing of plates. No decoration except from what looks like some pastel spray paint swirls here and there. Definitely worth a try if you're in the area! read more
