A buffet of Mediterranean food! Who couldn't love freshly roasted meats, fresh vegetables, rice, dips, appetizers, and dessert? Dimassi's has it all, and with a buffet, you can sample selections that you might not order in an off-the-menu restaurant, all for one price. Now, with the pandemic recently behind us, many people may say they would not go to a buffet. My husband and I tend to stay away from buffets too, but we had no problem with Dimassi's. Fresh food is constantly turned out, and plenty of plates and plastic gloves are available to keep things clean and sanitary. They are also proud of their A rating, so we had no problems eating at this buffet. We indulged mostly in their fried and roasted chicken, gyro meat, rice, hummus, naan, pita, potatoes, roasted veggies, and Zatar pizza. Don't forget about their delectable desserts that include baklava. There's plenty of seating, and although you don't need much of a wait service, the staff we encountered was pleasant and helpful. We went about 6 pm at night, and there were just a few patrons in the dining room, but within about a half-hour, the restaurant was filling up. Bruh. 2 of us got sick after eating here. Food was in no way worth it. Pita was not good. Hummus was ok. Tried several things. None of which I would do again even if two of us hadn't gotten sick. Pasha or Jewish Grill are by far and away a better meal. read more

This review is OVERDUE! One of the first HALAL places I went to in TEXAS was Dimassi's and I haven't looked back since. With an AYCE buffet full of heart healthy fats & tender marinated meats...I'm a sucker for life. I REALLY like this location and frequent this one the most! I've been here on weekdays during both lunch & dinner, as well as a weekend dinner. It's in quite a busy plaza, but there's SO MUCH ROOM -- the atmosphere is absolutely inviting, and Leena (who welcomes you in and also helps you check out) is a delight! During many of my times here, I have admired her for actually checking in on tables and actually conversing with the guests! Who does that anymore?! It's lovely seeing the smiles on people's faces when she's truly getting that human interaction in. FOOD. Ummm, I wish I could comment on how good everything is but you may get tired of reading, so I've done all the talking through pictures. Although, my favorites include the fried chicken, gyro meat, JAM COOKIES (YALL this is really my jam!), baba ghanoush, spicy hummus, cucumber & mint yogurt, and the kafta kabob! The NAANS are also made in the hot Tandoor, none of those frozen bread spreads here. They are comin' in HOT. Not sure what it's like at peak hours or on a weekend. Sign with pricing and instructions greet you as you enter. Easy peasy - basically self serve, self seat, and pay at counter in the end! There's plenty of sanitizer and gloves to keep things clean. The buffet is huge! An array of Mediterranean salads, hummus, dips, beets, roasted eggplant, soups - lentil and chicken vermicelli, za'atar bread, pita, pasta, various chicken dishes with rice, kofta, gyro, meatballs, baked fish, and fried chicken to name a few. I can't possibly list everything lol There's also a small dessert bar! Bite size goodies all labeled in self serve containers. The Baklava was yummy and honey was available to pour over. Pricing includes a self serve soda station/ tamarind drink/ rose water. Loved the rose water! That was my go to. Stand out was the baba ganoush- creamy and perfect flavor. The lady at the front was the highlight of our visit. While the display of hummus and food looked appealing... the flavor was lacking tremendously. The hummus (we tried all) and the tzatziki were extremely bland. Everything else was just soaked in some type of watery oil. The protein sources were baked chicken, soaked fish, or fried chicken. The salad options were basic lettuce, a splash of feta, half a tomato and olives. Dressing you ask? A bottle of Kraft Greek Vinaigrette. Came here at 3:09p the young man up front scooped my hummus with all the stale old paprika. It taste horrible. The bread is good, I can't eat this food. The paprika flavor disgusting and bad quality. Very gross. I also watched cashier drop the container on ground pick it up and finish filing it with hummus. I love hummus and spices at other places... like Pasha. Besides Grub Hub being over an hour late, their app had incorrect information and my expensive food was cold, it was more hummus and rice and low on meat, no pita and minimal salad. I ordered extra taziki sauce and paid for it . The container was so small, about a tablespoon worth, maybe. I ordered the baklava. Their picture shows something very different than what you get. The restaurant is very clean and spacious, you will not be listening to loud people around and normal chatter goes unnoticed since the tables have enough space between them. It's a buffet so it is self serve but the staff does a great job at cleaning your table and not letting the used plates pile up, lastly and more importantly, the food was fresh and juicy and the variety is also great, from the salads to the meats and everything in between. Literally, there are about 45 different items for you to choose from and they are all fresh and flavorful. 3-4 diferentes types of hummus. Fresh Pita bread baked in the oven that is visible to the patrons. Baklava, Tabbouleh, Chicken w/ Sumac, Meatballs, so so so many things. I've seen this place while it's very slow and I've seen it packed and the service does not suffer! This kitchen is on top of its game and they are ready to rock and roll. This is a tasty, no-frills Mediterranean buffet with a lot of vegan and low-carb options. Multiple salads, chicken, lamb, fish, and beef selections for everyone. I had read a lot of reviews and their pictures were accurate. Everything is fresh and flavorful making for a light but filling buffet experience. The pita bread is awesome but try it with butter to take it to the next level. You come in, pick your seat, dig in and pay on your way out. They even allow to-go orders so you can enjoy the specialties later. I did not take pictures of the buffet because I didn't want to bother other patrons. It was nice seeing people from all backgrounds eating and enjoying the food. I will gladly come back here to eat again. Amazing food, big and beautifully decorated space, and fantastic friendly service! We were looking for a Halal eatery in the San Antonio area and Dimassi's was one of the options that caught our eye. The chain restaurant seems to only have branches in Texas and California, so as tourists in the city we had to go and give it a try. This all-you-can-eat buffet is perfect for big groups, or intimate dates, or anything in between. They have a wide selection of delicious and fresh salads: tabouli, arugula, kale caesar, chickpea, spring mix, Greek, fattoush, broccoli salad, and SO much more. I was also a big fan of their falafels, baked fish, zaatar pizza, lasagna, kafta kabob, and delicious makloub (a mix of rice, bone-in chicken, cauliflower, potatoes, eggplant, spices and slivered almonds). Their babaganoush and mint & cucumber yogurt are also a must-try. I love that Dimassi's also has all-you-can-eat dessert. Although their dessert selection is limited to just halva, baklava, jam cookies, and namoura (aka harissa dessert), I think it was just enough after eating SO much food. They also have amazing coffee and tea to go along with dessert. I would also give their lemonade a try. Their rosewater drink was a bit too sweet for my taste. Overall, a wonderful Halal buffet! I had only eaten at the Austin location a few years ago. Driving to a new job in San Antonio, I saw this just off the freeway. I decided to stop in after getting off work early and have lunch. This place turned out to be a gem. It's a family restaurant. It has EVERYTHING Mediterranean that you would hope to find in European and Middle Eastern countries. It took me back to visiting areas of the west side of Italy and Israel where the food is fresh and of a different caliber of quality. I came in hoping to follow my low carb diet and it was easier than I thought. There were so many delicious options of proteins from fish to lamb to gyro and chicken and so many veggie options. I was able to resist all of the mouthwatering seasoned rice dishes and oven-fired bread. I was thinking about all the people I wanted to bring here because there is something for every type of eater and will accommodate almost every dietary need. And the price is reasonable.
