Diner 248 is my favorite place to eat. We have been here a few times and we always leave very happy with our time there. Today we had a late breakfast and had the eggs Benedict with carnitas, my son tried the steak sandwich, well delicious as usual. Well this a gem of a find in old Pennsylvania! I had the most amazing French onion soup and just ok nachos be honest don't waste you time with them . The wife had spot on fish with crab , she loved it . My daughter had the chicken dish and finished completely. I dessert the banana cake which was totally amazing! A great diner with very generous portions. Their brunch cocktails were nice additions to our meals. My son has a life threatening peanut allergy. After alerting our waitress, she had the manager come out and go over the safe options for our son. Visiting from out of town and stopped in for brunch. The menu has a lot of options, but not overwhelming. The Chorizo-onion omelette has a nice kick to it and was delicious, along with the grits! Trying to avoid extra caffeine I went with the decaf coffee, which was the only downside, as it tasted really watered down. Worst breakfast ever. Sausage links were brown n serve, looked undercooked disgusting! I asked for a side of brown gravy and the waitress said they had only chicken gravy. She brought me out what looked like thin cream of chicken soup, also disgusting. I explained to the waitress and the cashier how bad the food was and neither of them offered to make adjustments to my bill. Oh well, they don't seem to care about their customers, so now they have 1 less, hopefully this gets read so maybe we can get some new owners/cooks!!! read more

Okay, so I've only been here twice. Once to have a drink and apps with a friend, and the spinach & artichoke dip proved to be the best I've had at any restaurant, and then back with my family for dinner. I tried the Chicken Oscar, which was on the specials menu, and it was yummy! Chicken was really grilled, and tender (not overdone or dry!) and the chunks of crab were fresh and delicious! The Hollandaise sauce was perfect. I can't give them 5 stars yet because I'll need to try their fish and chips, and salmon, first. All stars depend on how good the fish is, in my book. But it's looking good. It's packed on Saturday evening, so plan ahead! We tried to pop in for dinner around 5:45 and decided to go elsewhere because we were already getting hangry lol. I ate here twice on my trip to Easton. Both visits were very good. I had the roast beef club, barley soup, and peanut butter pie on my first trip and cioppino soup on my second visit. All of the food was delicious. The peanut butter pie is amazing and I would order it again. The sandwich was huge and I needed more mayo because it was so meaty. The soup is to die for. All of it is homemade and really tasty. They give you warm rolls which are great with the soup. They can get very busy but move quickly so you dont have to wait long. read more

This is NOT a stereotypical diner. I'm not sure how to categorize it but the food is really good and very reasonably priced. They are always packed. Stopped on a Wednesday evening and only waited 10 minutes but every table was filled. Service was quick and friendly. Food came quickly and my Rueben was not special but was good. Wife's steak was perfectly seasoned and cooked and absolutely deliciously. 4 Stars only because they are very limited for gluten-free options. Sure my wife can have steak every visit, but a place this popular and busy could certainly turn some gluten free buns or bread for an up charge . A "bun-less burger" is not an option we'll return with our money for when there are so many other options close by which accommodate dietary needs more easily. read more

I was in Easton for a wedding and stopped into Diner 248 for brunch. It was pretty busy on a Saturday morning which is typical for most breakfast spots. I ordered the "Pop Pop Pancakes" which came with two pancakes, eggs of your choice, grits or hash browns, and choice of meat. The eggs were cooked to my liking, not to wet and not overdone. I ordered the ham as my meat which was a large circular slice of Canadian bacon. Grits were a nice surprise too that took me back to my childhood. My table which had a few locals of the area, recommended the wings and the lumberjack special. They all agreed that for the price you get a lot of quality food. Service was great. They kept our coffee cups filled and joked around with the groom. Great experience here. Would recommend to anyone in the area. read more

Have been dining here for years as our go to diner for good food. They must have a new chef . We both ordered the Pop pops breakfast which included pancakes, eggs, bacon and home fries. This was the worst breakfast we've ever had anywhere. The pancakes were heavy and tasteless , the home fries not cooked , the tea water luke warm, the bacon tasteless and hard. Both my husband snd I had the same reaction to our food. My Coffee on a positive note was piping hot . It came to 30.00. I must say we will not be back .
