Stopped there for breakfast this morning when passing through. Second time I've stopped, both times for breakfast. Food is quite good. One of the few places that actually knows how to cook hash browns AND I'm pretty sure they were not frozen (pre-cooked, but not frozen). Nicely browned and tasty. Omelets are tasty and well made, with lots of filling. Eggs over easy were perfectly cooked. Good coffee. Overall a great breakfast place. Recommended if you are around there. read more

Half way point between Appleton and Greendale. So we met in the middle at Susie's and had a delightful lunch. Well some of us had breakfast. Lemon pancakes with raspberry sauce were devine. Our waitress was very attentive and kept our coffee mugs filled. Nice family atmosphere with booths and tables and a counter. Friendly people...the gentleman behind us gave us a suggestion when we were talking about what to order. We will definitely come back for our next meet in the middle. read more

We found this place on our way home from Milwaukee. My husband always loves to look for little restaurants to eat on our trips. The food was excellent and so was the waitstaff. The place look very clean and we were happy with the service. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is they either need to invest in new high chairs or really scrub these ones down! I was very hesitant to put my daughter in the one the waitress have us. We had to wipe it down with wipes ourselves as there was food in it still and stained brown. Other than the high chair we were happy with everything. We will definitely be back! read more

Restaurant appeared clean. Service was good and food came out fast. Scrambled eggs were more like a sheet of paper, not fluffy or scrambled. Rest of the food was average. I think this diner is a little pricey for what you get. The rise and shine breakfast was $8.79 for 2 eggs, 3 sausage links and 2 pancakes. read more

What a great find off of exit 85. Food was delicious and the service was outstanding. Christina was our waitress as we sat at the counter. Such a warm personality and friendly as can be. All of the staff seem cheerful and helpful. We stopped here for breakfast on our way back from a long weekend of camping. Pleasantly surprised with the quality of food. I had a the breakfast skillet and my partner had the Rise and Shine. The food was prepared perfectly and Chrisitina was in tune with our needs. We witnessed her provide similar service to other patrons as well. If we lived in this state we would come back here often. read more

Susie's is a certified gem. With the friendliest staff and the best tasting food, how can you go wrong? The hot beef sandwich was just right on a cool autumn day - tender roast beef and creamy mashed potatoes under that glorious brown gravy. And then top it off with a piece of warm pecan pie - Wow! (The pecan pie was a tough choice as the Banana Cream Pie was calling my name also.) The food wasn't as good as I had hoped it would be based on the reviews. As often occurs in rural Wisconsin, they used American cheese on the cheesy eggs. The coffee was terrible - I mean horrible - I mean it tasted like Folgers crystals that had been left outside for a couple weeks and then mixed with left over dish water. read more

What a wonderful place to stumble upon! We needed a place for lunch on our way up to Minocqua, and this far exceeded our expectations. It was about four blocks west of Highway 41 - just far enough past the mediocre places right at the highway exits that cater to travelers. Susie's was full of locals, which is often a good indicator of value - and certainly was true here. It was very clean, with friendly and efficient service. The food was freshly made and tasty. Stopped in for Father's Day breakfast, and as expected, saw lots of people waiting. Unexpectedly, though, everyone was seated quickly and we sat down to an excellent breakfast. In addition to the usual corned-beef hash, they also have home-made bacon-and-onion hash which was tasty beyond belief. The waitstaff were certainly busy but still made sure everything was in order. This is the kind of small-town restaurant that will surprise you not only with great rural ambiance but also well-prepared food. Highly recommended. read more

I used to love coming here. It's been years since I've been to town. And I have to say service and food was not good.

It took 50 minutes to get a seat because they skipped our name on the waiting list and then took over 45 minutes to get our food.

I nearly gave Susie's 5 stars just for my bacon cheeseburger. Yes, it was THAT good! Homemade toasted bun, perfectly cooked hamburger, cheddar cheese, and tasty thick-cut bacon. With a burger that good, I knew I had to try the pie for dessert, and I wasn't disappointed! The homemade blueberry pie was wonderful! This place will now be a planned stop when I'm traveling in the area! read more

Great little roadside diner - nice menu, good food and pleasant service. They open early but close by 3:00PM except for Friday fish fries. Be sure to save room for pie which, by itself, is worth the stop! read more

My husband and I had a delicious breakfast here on our way up north for the holiday weekend. This was our first time here and we'll definitely stop again. Well worth the short detour west. What a lousy experience. My sis & I went there for lunch yesterday (6/3/17), having HEARD good things about the place. I don't even know where to start. The waitressES, every single one of them, were miserable. Sad, unfriendly, and obviously unhappy to be there. I ordered a lunch special, chicken cordon bleu. It was a ham steak, with a chicken breast sitting on top of it, with melted cheese over it. Not the traditional way it's supposed to be & wasn't very good. My salad (which came with the special) was a pre-mixed salad with SLIMY pcs. of lettuce & wilted, transluscent cucumbers. Canned peas & carrots for the "veggie" of the day. It was not good. My sis ordered a patty melt. That's supposed to be served on rye bread. It was served on whole wheat toast instead, with some underdone steak fries. Honestly, we were both so bummed out by the time we left there, not only by the food, but by the absolute pall that fell across this place. The servers need rescuing or something! Sad... would NOT ever go back. read more
