Chicken chow mien

I love the chicken chow mien so much! It's an Indian inspired version of the Chinese staple. Completely unexpected. Total perfection.

Gobi Manchurian (cauliflower appetizer) so good highly recommend

As an update to my previous review I took my husband here for dine in lunch on a week day. You can choose from the buffet which had a nice selection of items or order from the menu. We chose to order from the menu. Service was quick and friendly, food was great. No complaints

Since being in Anchorage, I've tried one other Indian restaurant but so far, Everest has easily become my favorite. I've now been there twice, and both visits have been consistently excellent. The first thing you notice when you walk in is the smell. It's amazing. The warm aroma of spices fills the air immediately rich, fragrant, and comforting. Every time I step inside, it makes me even more excited to sit down and eat. So far, I've tried the chicken tikka masala, goat curry, chicken korma, and butter chicken, and while everything has been good, the real stars of the dinners have been the goat curry and the korma. The goat curry is deeply flavorful and beautifully seasoned, with tender meat and a rich, slow-cooked depth that really stands out. It has that hearty, authentic taste that keeps you going back for another bite. The chicken korma has also been exceptional smooth, creamy, and perfectly balanced with warm spices. It's comforting without being too heavy and full of flavor without overpowering your palate. The chicken tikka masala and butter chicken were both delicious as well creamy, satisfying, and well-prepared but the goat curry and korma are the dishes I find myself thinking about afterward. What really stands out about Everest is the consistency. Both visits delivered bold flavors, generous portions, and that welcoming, spice-filled atmosphere that makes you want to come back again. If you're craving Indian food in Anchorage, this is definitely the spot I'd recommend first.

June 2024 - decent stop for a quick buffet lunch or dinner, taste of the food is acceptable, the servers and hospitality is great This restaurant appears to be Nepali origin, I would recommend to try their Nepali fare - momos, soups etc Restaurant and restrooms are clean

What a blast! We had my birthday dinner at Everest and they did such a good job and the food was AMAZING. Don't sleep on the okra and the gobi Manchurian in particular. One of our favorite restaurants in Anchorage!

Food was delicious, but service was lacking. Took a long time to be seated & even longer to order. Seems like the priority was on the drive thru/carry out orders & not so much the dine in customers. Could easily be a 5 star restaurant for me, just add more dining room staff. Seems like once the kitchen got the order, it came out quickly, was piping hot & fresh. Would suggest just getting a pickup order.

Lamb Curry, Basmati Rice, Chicken Tikka Masala, Saag Paneer, Veg Chowmein, chili chicken.

Went in to try the lunch buffet. A perfect way to try a lot of different dishes for only $20. Also, brought us out a basket for fresh naan. Everything tasted super good. Staff was very nice and attentive. Will be back to this restaurant soon.

This place goes so hard. My leftover plate of food does not do this place justice because my bestie was so excited to eat the food that we forgot to take a picture of the presentation. Even though this was a take out order this place delivers on all things from friendly service and high quality food stuffed with flavour. If there's anything to brighten your atmosphere, Everest does not disappoint.

We started with the sampler pakoras, which was perfect for a first visit because you get a little bit of everything, vegetable samosa, vegetable pakora, paneer pakora, and chicken pakora. Honestly just a great way to try a mix without overthinking it, and everything came out fresh and really good. For mains, we ordered the chicken tikka masala at medium heat, and I'd say it definitely leans more mild. It was good, but didn't quite have the depth or spice I personally look for in a tikka masala. It almost ate more like a tomato-based dish rather than that rich, bold flavor I usually expect. Still enjoyed it, just not as flavorful as I was hoping for. We also got the tandoori mixed grill with sheikh kabab, tandoori chicken, and tandoori shrimp, and that was a great call, especially with garlic naan. Probably my favorite part of the meal and a really good option if you want to try a few different things. Service was super fast even though the place was busy, and everything just felt really taken care of, waters stayed filled, to-go boxes came out right away, no waiting around for anything. Overall, really good food, great service, and an easy first visit. Definitely a spot I'd come back to and order more from the menu.

They did an impressive job of making all of the food taste authentic, not your typical bistro or fusion master of none style menus. We ordered butter chicken, pho rare steak, basket naan, chicken biryani, and chicken korma. The pho was phenomenal, just like in Vietnam, with an average portion of meat, overall very large portions and great flavor. The butter chicken was soupy and tasty, plenty of chicken, and large enough for anyone to be satisfied. I'm not typically a fan of biryani, but the chicken biryani had the perfect amount of spice, and almost addicting taste and heaping pile of food, enough for 3 meals! I did not like the chicken korma, but my wife loved it - with a unique yet non spicy flavor. The naan basket was also large, with 3 flavors of naan. Overall, the only negative thing was limited parking in the winter, otherwise I will definitely be back!

Starting out dipping veggie Samosas in mint sauce or red sauce( I don't remember the name) was a scrumptious beginning to a tasty meal. Hubby ordered a rice pilaus-chicken biryani. The waitress, who was lovely and informative, had our food seasoned 'just right' for neophyte palates. A cool white sauce cut through the spices. All partnered well with a piping hot cup of milky tea. Music was a fun Indian rap like background with plenty of nice pictures to create an eastern atmosphere. Prices were reasonable and we parked right outside the front door. After sharing a dessert of mango ice cream we were both feeling warm and happy in a food coma. There is an extensive online menu and take out orders seemed popular throughout our visit. . If you're looking for a delicious meal and a place to go on a cold winter's night, head here.
