Was told that it would be ready for pick up within 15 mins. I arrived within 10 mins, paid and within a few mins, it was ready. Smooth, easy and fast transaction. Saw that they had a special: crab sandwich, will definitely have to come back next time and try that. Very wholesome; positive vibes. Fairly priced sandwiches, portions are decent sized. The cheeseburger did come with fries. Parking lot available, free parking as it is located inside a plaza with Safeway and other restaurants and stores. Overall, would definitely recommend. Food is usually pretty good here. It's an order then sit down and they bring to your table. We usually go on Friday evening for the clam chowder. Tonight, though, my family was served their sandwiches and They were half way through eating when I went up and asked about my and my daughter's soup. I told the girl who took my order & she seemed to not care less. She forgot about the order. She was preoccupied during the order with a malfunction of the register. She wasn't very cordial throughout the transaction so I wasn't too surprised with the very curt nature after I said we didn't receive the soups. I totally regret tipping 15%. The soup was so piping hot that it was not edible, everyone else had finished their meals and I had to take it to go. I might not be back after this experience. Sad. Kinda strange little burger diner. Its been here a long time, so it is somewhat of a local fave. I've been here several years ago, but the food never really leaves a big imprint on me, so it was hard to write a review. Tried it a couple times more within this year, so lemme churn one out before it fades in my memory. Very classic diner lookin', checkerboard tile floors with white tables. Straight counter service where you order everything first, but the food does get brought out to your table. I've noticed a few times that old timers of the town like to hold little gatherings out in the parking lot where they showcase each other's vintage cars. I'm not into that sort of thing but I find good community value there. Now even though this is mostly a burger joint, they also do a lot of basic pasta dishes. But it is very suburban pasta dishes to me so it is just kinda meh. I'll elaborate a tad more in a bit. Lasagna ($13/4*) This was actually quite decent and a good slab of a portion. The layers are substantial and the proportioning of meat to sauce to cheese to pasta is very good. I'm not a fan when there is too much of any of those, we don't have that here. Came out super hot too but pretty sure they just microwave the portion as there were spots that seemed to have gotten too blasted, ya know kinda tough/hard spots. But nothing to get worried about. I did have to season it a bit at the table but I pretty much woof'd this down one chilly afternoon. Italian Burger ($16/3*) Again good portions, nothing will be skimpy here. This is a smallish cheeseburger in between garlic bread. No garnishments just burger and buttery garlic bread. And it is served with pasta in a basic meat/tomato sauce instead of fries. The burger part was alright, fresh burger served hot and melty. Not seasoned so again a little shaker action at the table. The garlic bread is quite rich and quite garlic-y which I applaud. But the bread to me is just to soft and squishy which made me go against most American breads as I grew up. Straight up grocery mass produced bread. The pasta part is a generous serving, I packed half for another meal. They use spaghetti and rigatoni together which you don't see often. The sauce is on the light side and very bland to me. Very little salt and couldn't really taste any herbage like oregano/basil. Even the tomato flavor is very muted. I think if you're an old timer with dietary restrictions then this may be your jam. But for me unfortunately left me hanging. They do serve a very unique soda from a local soda company so no Coke or Pepsi products here. I think it's from Alameda Soda Co and I found it delicious. I only drink sodas very rarely so I don't mind in indulging in a good quality soda occasionally. I tried sips of the rootbeer and the black cherry and both were solid. I bet they don't use high fructose corn syrup. So even though I didn't love it, I most certainly didn't hate it. If running errands in this part of town, I wouldn't rule out getting their lasagna again or maybe trying their mushroom burger. read more

Stopped by after a day at Arden farms. It was kinda empty but everything looked very clean. They didn't have any high chairs nor booster seats, just FYI. What we ordered: Pasta Alfredo with Chicken -10/10 portion was huge and the flavor was real good. Kids spaghetti - 10/10 portion was huge for a kid but it was real yummy. Greek salad - 9/10 I love when places add salt and pepper to a salad. The chicken was well seasoned too. The crumbles of feta w chunks of cut tomatoes and cucumber just really brought it together. I didn't even use the dressing because everything was so flavorful. 1 point off because the olives were not pitted, so be real careful when ordering this item. Cheesey bread - 10/10 wow this was real good! Funny thing is that each item comes with garlic bread so we had an overage but that's fine, we took it home. I enjoy this place when I want a plate of simple comfort food. It boasts a retro 50's vibe with bright reds and blacks. You order at the counter and they bring your food to the table. Service has been friendly every time I've gone. We love that they offer soda from a local company based in Oakland in their soda fountain. This time we got the California chicken sandwich and a cheeseburger. Both were tasty and served with very very hot crispy fries. Was craving some Dino's yesterday and ordered to go. Dino's is a staple in Newark and has been serving this community for quite some time. The family that runs this business is friendly and is more like family to everyone. I ordered the fettuccini Athenian - chicken and veggies in a white sauce. The portion size was pretty big and can feed up to 2 people. It comes cooked to order so it's piping at hot. It served with a side of garlic bread to dip into the sauce. This is a wonderful quasi-diner with a somewhat pared down version of the classic Greek diner menu that we don't see as much of in the Bay Area compared to the midwest or east coast. Burgers, sandwiches, Italian dishes, salads, and gyros. This place covers those bases and does it rather well. Burgers here are some of the best in the Tri-City area. And they have some nice variations like the California burger and the Italian burger. The menu prices might seem on the high side, but keep in mind that fries come with all burger and sandwich orders. So, taken together the pricing is very reasonable. Pro tip: one feature that sets this place apart though is the option to substitute salad or pasta for the fries. It only costs an extra $1.50 to $2.50, and includes a full range of salad options (house, caesar, spring, spinach, Greek). The pasta side is an incredible value. Their sauces are house-made and the side options include both meat and alfredo sauces. The pasta portions are almost large enough for a second meal. The value proposition set aside -- this is good pasta! It's actually better than the basic pasta dishes I've had at some dedicated red sauce restaurants. The location is convenient - right off the Dumbarton-Nimitz connector. And I started coming here on cycling trips to the Alameda Creek Trail. It makes for a nice carb load while on a 20+ mile ride. The place itself is bright and clean, though not cozy like some diners can be. The service is spot-on and the owner always makes for good conversation. Things were tough for them during the pandemic, and they cut their hours way back. They managed to weather that storm and look like they're close to normal. Businesses like this are unique and don't have corporate benefactors creating economies of scale for them. At first glance Dino's Grill may appear to be an average American Restaurant. But for those who know- you know! Dino's is comfort food city! As others have already noted, it's diner food done right- burgers, pasta, chicken, salad; it's one of the best places to go for lunch or (early) dinner in the area for sure. My go-tos are the gyro (sometimes with extra meat, extra tzatziki on the side), the French Burger, or the SF (which comes on grilled sourdough). Good food, large portions, good prices, friendly service- need I say more? The restaurant has a fair amount of seating but it can get busy if there a lot of teams coming in for lunch, so heads up. The garlic bread was nice and crunchy, and was a nice change from a regular bun/roll. The spaghetti was pretty good too - probably not the best spaghetti ever, but it was different! My husband got the Gyro, which came with some awesome fries. I didn't have a chance to try the gyro, but the fries are A+! They're solidly crunchy, with an extra crunch layer (double fried? coated?). Food was okay I ordered the Fettuccine Athenian I liked that they have alfredo pasta that has both chicken and veggies, but the sauce was watery and lacking some flavor. Classic cheeseburger and garlic fries was good, fries were nice and crispy with lots of garlic. Kids spaghetti pasta with marinara was a good portion and the sauce is really good.
