Hell freaking yeah this place is AMAZING. I visited Nashville with some friends for about a week and we came here twice. Depending on what time you go you may be waiting (but, if you're going late, it's probably because you're a little tipsy - so who cares?) but it is worth every single second. Best late night food in Nashville! It's a simple menu. Burgers, fries, drinks and open until 3am. It was fun sitting at the bar watching the cook work the grill and build 6-7 burgers at a time. The food is delicious, but even on a Monday at 1130 it was crowded and the bar itself only has 7-8 seats. If you were ever trying to define "trendy dive bar" this is it. The atmosphere was great, every seat was filled, and it's small and cozy inside. The bartender and line cook were both really friendly. I got my fries Joes way. It's worth a try, but it kind of turns the side of fries into a small meal in and of itself. $8 cheeseburger. $3 fries if you are going standard fries without the toppings. Going Joes way adds 5 bucks so it's an $8 plate of fries which was too high to get them again. Still delicious, but the standard fries are still good. This is definitely going to be high on my list of recommendations to anyone looking for late night food. read more

I just want to say the Dinos staff works impeccably hard to feed the masses so please walk in with patience and empathy for the hard working staff. That said it took only 5 minutes to order and nearly 45 minutes to get our food lol. That's ok we were hanging out, drinking, enjoying the patio space when our food was finally called. Being from out of town, I ordered the hot chicken because that's what you do when you're from out of town lol. I asked the woman taking my order how spicy we talkin, and she replied not blow a new hole in your ass hot but still got some heat. Sold! Chicken was moist! Perfectly spicy! Had some interesting and memorable seasoning on it. My only note is that the battered crust was kinda falling off the chicken but whatever still really good. Really solid dive bar with killer food. They do in-n-out style animal fries which are pretty good (review from a native Californian). I really loved their hot chicken (I subbed my fries for animal fries and it was a perfect pairing) i liked that its served on top of the wonder bread, plus the pour of sauce on top was simply perfection. The staff are so hardworking and friendly, every time I come to Dino's I find myself watching them work *so hard* but also *so well.* I love to sit at the bar and talk to the other regulars, watching the crowd and the cook. Dino's is open late, and very popular (for good reason!) so if you want food, best to come before 2:30am. If I could give Dino's a 13 out of 10, I would. Try the Armadillo Ale!! This is a cool little hole in the wall with great burgers. We ended up walking here to eat after trying to get breakfast at a spot down the street that had a 2+ hour wait list. Dino's opened right up at 1200. The grill is up front with a not so diverse menu. I had a real solid cheese burger with fried egg on top. The bun held up nicely to all the toppings and the cheesy patty had a good savory flavor. Everyone with me enjoyed their food. Now on the outside, Dino's looks like a condemned forgotten about store and if it weren't for the reviews we would have moved on. So don't miss out and stop by for a great burger. read more

Went late night with my nieces while on a trip. This was the BEST thing we did in Nashville. The cheeseburger was incredible. SO GOOD. Putting the dive back in Dive Bar. :P Dino's has been a Nashville staple since long before I got here in the late 90s. It is a small dive bar up on Gallatin Ave a bit northeast of the Five Points/Main Street area of East Nashville. Looks a bit deceiving as it looks a bit sketchy, but the crowd fits the East Nashville Millennial/GenX crowd. We got in late and found three seats at the bar, so I should have bought a lottery ticket. The bar is also the kitchen, so it has a kind of Waffle House meets dive bar feel. The burgers are cheap, but they are big and in close competition with Brown's for the best dive bar burger in Nashville (I would actually say they are ahead, but I have friends that are completely sold on Brown's). The burger is at least 1/3 lb. and rings in at a whopping $7. There are some additions you can add - like bacon, avocado, and fried egg - but the base burger is plenty. $2 more for fries (I want my 2 dollars?) or $3 for a full basket (you can easily share with a buddy and save a buck?). Not one thing on the menu should kick it up over $10 (we ate a burger, fries, and had a pint of craft for about $15, maybe a bit less ($20 with a tip). Service is great. Have never tried a table, but the menu on the wall and order taker make this a counter serve option. Every table was full and almost every table had food orders. Unlike my Joyland experience, we got our burger in less than $10, despite a packed house. Dino's is one of my favorite Nashville late night spots. Sometime difficult to get a seat, but usually not a huge wait either. They do a decent job with turning seats, as a lot of people are here to get their grease content back up after a night of drinking. read more

The diviest of Nashville staples. Don't let the front of the building scare you off as this is a must stop summer hang. The entry way looks like a diner that hides that beautiful back patio decked out with wooden tables, disco balls, and the lemonade stand. Had to come here after a late night at the honky tonks, I wanted a cheeseburger. After I hear Bourdain approved, it was a must try. . It is located in a quiet neighborhood, this dive bar is small but has a lot of tables. You walk in and go order at the bar counter. Either keep it close or open. If you forget to close they charge 20 percent. Right about the ordering there is a sign that tells you how long the wait could be. . I got the dinos cheese burger with a tall pbr. They have great country music on. The cheese burger was juicy and thick slice of meat. It was good and reminded me of in n out but gourmet. It was worth the 8 bucks they were charging. It was an experience. . Overall if I'm back in town, this is a great late night spot right by where I stayed. If you don't want a over crowded place on a Monday night，I would come here. Great ambiance and customer service. Food was delicious and quick despite it being relatively busy. Woman working register was friendly and answered all of our questions, which made us feel welcomed and in the loop. I'm a Nashville native and was just introduced to this place this year. Had never heard of it before but it's such a great hidden gem. The hot chicken sandwich was good but it really was 3 tenders between a sandwich bun. The service was quick but I didn't particularly like that your food is placed in a window uncovered where anyone can walk by and sneeze or accidentally pick up your food and put it back. Luckily I was there as soon as my food was put down. The outdoor area was cute too. read more

Bourdain grunge tour continued... Dino's is the definition of a dive. It's even dark during the day (yesss), with a small bar facing the grill, a couple of booths, and from the back wall, the giant head of our high-haired Queen, Dolly P watching over us and keeping us safe. After atomic hot chicken, craft beer, and distilled donuts with coffee, we couldn't do the requisite burger and cheese fries here (which smelled amazing), yet somehow made room for Frito Pie and a few more beers. One serving was about 3 full meals but the next thing I knew I had finished it off. Damn, so good. Such a comfortable vibe from the bartender to the cook to the few others day drinking with us in the shadows. Literally, it's one of those neighborhood places that makes me want to pack up my life and start over, waking up at noon and rolling in for a breakfast of burgers and beer. I went on the 24th for my birthday. I was in town to visit a friend. My friend kept cautioning me that it was a real dive, but I really wanted to go. It was just what I wanted--loud, but good music, small, decorated with Dolly and Christmas lights, stiff drinks, great cheeseburger, and killer frito pie. We were probably the oldest people there, but the clientele weren't all skinny, well-dressed, 20 year olds that made us feel ancient. They were hip enough, but more regular people in jeans and black t-shirts, some tats, and just out to visit and chat. I was quite happy to end my day there. read more

Okay, so we came here for two reasons: 1. Our flight came in super late and we wanted a bit to eat and they are open till 3am. 2. This was one of the great spots the late Anthony Bourdain came when he visited Nashville, we thought this would be a good place to start. When we got in, we immediately realized this was a dive. Okay, expectations managed. But, we did also read that the burgers were supposed to be good. We decided to pretty much give everything a fair shot. We ordered two hot chicken sandwiches (one hot, the other medium), fries, a cheeseburger, and a frito pie. Basically everything but the fries were a disappointment. The burger was bland and tasteless. The frito pie was a very very sad version of chili (with beans ) in a frito pie. ThIs was extra disappointing since I was kind of excited to have this. And the chicken sandwiches were three tenders over a single slice of white bread. Now don't get me wrong, I understand that that's a thing... but don't call it a sandwich if it's not a sandwich. The chicken was also nowhere near any kind of "hot" - total bummer. The only saving grace of the night were the fries. Not sure how they made them or what they seasoned them with, but they were great. I'd scrap everything on the menu except for those fries. The service was also not the greatest. The cashier seemed like she really couldn't be bothered with taking orders. Never cracked a smile and honestly seemed like she'd rather just not be there. Overall, glad we came. It was a good starting point for our trip, but we won't be back. There are so many other spots with super friendly staff, great drinks, great (live) music, where the food is good. This place is fantastic. It's like the best greasy spoon diner meets the best dive bar open late. Walk in between 11 pm and 3 am after you've seen a show or been out for a night on the town and chow down on greasy (but cleanly prepared--you can see them cook carefully right in front of you if you sit at the bar) food to soak up any ills you may have thrown at your stomach in the previous hours. I'm talking seriously good burgers and the crispiest french fries you've ever eaten. If you feel like pairing that with a beer, shot, or mixed drink they can hook you up there as well with fairly priced booze. Friendly staff, low lighting, and a non-hipster non-commercial authentic vibe. I don't think they actually have their own parking lot though this page says that they do, but late at night you can use many surrounding businesses' parking lots (FREE!) without fear of towing. No cover. No upcharge. No fleecing. A bathroom straight from THE END (if you're a Nashville music aficionado) and a grill straight from...the Waffle House? But better. You can get a full meal and a drink or two, plus a generous tip, for around $25. Can't beat it, and just a ten-minute drive from the BS that is lower Broadway and most of downtown. Only complaint I have at all is that they use a lot of plastic as each drink (including shots by the look of it) are served in disposable plastic rather than glassware. read more

I finally got my Dino's burger fix, and let me tell you, it was worth the wait. I went at peak Dino's time -- late at night. As a first-timer, I had to order the cheeseburger and fries. The burger patty was thicker than I was expecting, especially coming off of a griddle. But it didn't matter, because it was packed with flavor. I removed the toppings (except the cheese, of course) to get an unobstructed taste of the sandwich. The slightly toasted bun held the cheese and beef together well. The cheese was relatively standard but served its purpose. Again, the meat was very tasty. The fries were well seasoned and crispy, although a bit dry for my liking. Regardless, I had no issue eating them. Dino's is a spot every Nashvillian or visitor should check out at least once. It's the textbook definition of a dive. You won't regret it. read more
