First time at this Dion's location. I usually visit the westside locations. Great location, easy parking, and easy to find. Great ambiance, clean orderly. Staff was very friendly, fast, helpful, and competent. Management has done a great job training its staff. Our food was excellent! Great pizza and salad. Other Dion's locations have a "hit or miss" with their pizza especially their sauce and seasonings. This location nailed it! I'll be back even though it's 10 miles away. read more

Service is great! Drive thru fast. I haven't had. Hawaiian pizza in quite a while. The pizzas are most of the time are GREAT! But this time I found the pizza was over cooked the top was brown, you couldn't tell what it was. I went to bed sick and still sick this next morning. I have never had this reaction. Normally, I would get Dion's five stars because I love their food and it's consistently good. That was absolutely the case this visit. I ordered a small pizza and a half ranch salad. When I arrived, I was greeted with a Department of Health closure sign, freshly posted on the drive thru window. I asked if that had just been posted and the woman at the drive-through said yes, and that they were closing right now, but that my order was ready. I went ahead and took my order and went home. As stated above, all my food was delicious and I didn't have any problems. When I checked a day or two later, Dion's was open for business again, so I guess they resolved whatever issue it is that they had. I hope they continue to do well on their inspections, as this is one of my regular "go tos" and I'd hate to not be able to continue to eat there. With that said, I still highly recommend Dion's and hope you will give them a try. read more

I really enjoy Dions, I live closest to this location so I'm partial to it, I love that I can pick up my order in their drive through, but if you do dine inside I love the stained glass light covers and comfy booths. Dions does both salad and pizza extremely well, I loooove a green chile cheese pizza with mushrooms, and the chicken caesar salad. Their ranch is out of this world (and I am quite the ranch snob)! Their green chile ranch is packed with large chile chunks, but it isn't too spicy. Really you can't go wrong at Dions! I had it last year for the first time when I visited my in-laws and I've had good experiences every time (3 times I've gone so far haha). *Staff - hardworking, helpful, & friendly *Facility - so many tables and booths. Always clean and spacious so I appreciate eating in *Prices - affordable. Especially in this recession, it's tough to feed larger families. *Taste - personally I enjoy pizza crusts that aren't super salty so I feel the dough, marinara, cheese, and veggie topics had a good balance. Two issues I had with my salad-- One being that they should use baby spinach for salads so we don't need to cut our salads to eat it. These are huge and should be used for cooking, in my opinion. Second, better training or someone running quality control. I had 2 tiny pieces of romaine lettuce, a teaspoon of turkey shredding slopped with cheese and veggies. The food is usually pretty good. The wait time when you place an online order for 445 and it's not ready till 5:05. That's ridiculous. How is that every time I place an order online it's never ready on time? You should look at retraining your stations in time management of online orders. I worked at Dion's ten years ago and we would get hounded if orders were late. Guess that changed. read more

I loved the kalamato olives in this & the dressing. We ordered one slice of cheese pizza to try that & it was good. We also ordered the cheesy bread to share as well. This large portion was big enough to share. There were 8 pieces & we were able to share it with 4 people easily. You order at the counter and they call your name when it's ready. Lots of seating with big booths and tables of different sizes is divided into sections. We was looking for a place to eat for dinner. And we saw this cafe on the corner. Called Dion's so we said let's give it a try. We had no idea it was a pizza place. And WOW what an awesome Pizza restaurant. They don't have waiters so when you walk in you just place your order. But on the way to order you can see them tossing the pizza dough and having a great time. We ordered a large 1/2 special & 1/2 pepperoni on the Gourmet crust with a nice dinner salad. The Academy location used to be my go to Dion's. Until yesterday. We went in around 1pm and it was not busy. All we ordered were some slices and a side of meatballs. It took over 10 minutes to get our food. The plate the meatballs were on was dirty. The food was good but man the place has gone downhill. The restaurant was not clean at all. Almost every single table was dirty so we sat in the big corner booth. I told the manager and he said he would get someone on it. Well the kid who "cleaned" the tables did a horrible job. He barely wiped down the tables and left crumbs in the seats. They were well staffed and still not busy so there's no excuse for this. Sadly this is a management issue. read more

I enjoy the Sub sandwiches at Dion's. The pizza is wonderful but the Sub sandwiches are big and loaded with meat and cheese. They offer many others fixings to add like lettuce, tomato, mayo, mustard, and pickles. The bread is toasted, crunchy and soft. The sandwich comes with either a generous helping of wavy potato chips or a fruit cup. I always get the fruit cup and take it home for a snack later. There are 2 sizes of subs 6 inch or 10 inch. I usually order the 10 inch and take the 2nd half home for later. This restaurant is clean and the service is quick. The food is made fresh to order. While I am there I usually buy a bottle of their Ranch dressing, it is the best. Dion's is a great family place. Prices are good for the quality of the food they offer. In praise of Dion's. Usually, I use the super easy on line ordering and pick up window. Back in 2022, They where having a rough pizza melt down kind of night when i picked up my pie. Some ingredients were left off and somewhere added. Not a bad pie, but not what i ordered. I wrote in on the Dion's website and received a response right away. The response included a coupon for a free pizza. This coupon, sat on my desk ever since. Last night, I decided to finally use it. But to use the coupon, i needed to go into the restaurant. I explained this to the order taker. He found the manager who verified the coupon and my free pizza was added to the order. For the first time, I got to spent time watching the action. This is controlled chaos at it's best. Dion's hires and attracted some of the sweetest looking, hard working young people around. Clearly, Dion's provides first jobs for many Albuquerque youth. How wonderful. As a veteran of many years in restaurants, I can't think of a better first job. At the very least, it teaches you an application of service workers. I watched as young children watched the pies being made. So cute to watch funny faces being made in both directions. My pie was finished and I picked it up and headed out. I'm not usually one to leave negative reviews but today I visited the location on Wyoming and Academy today like I always do, and I came inside to order my half tossed salad. It was pretty slow today around 4:45 but the young lady on register was too busy focused on what I'm assuming was her boyfriend a tall blonde gentleman. It took her almost 5 minutes to realize I had been waiting to order, this was pretty unacceptable and I didn't see any managers around to talk to. When she did realize I was waiting, she rushed through taking my order to go back to conversing with the same gentleman. I ordered a turkey sandwich on the phone and when I drove home and opened by bag I received the Italian sandwich with olives. I am allergic to olives but never stated that on the phone with them that I had an allergy. When I called and told them the issue the night manager spoke with me and was so kind and told me I could be given a refund. It was an honest mistake I believe.
