The food is fine, I can't say I have any complaints about that. But tonight it took a full hour to pick up one pepperoni pizza, which is quite a bit longer than competitors can offer up and a lot longer than was estimated when I ordered it. To be fair: I ordered through a third party app - not Dion's directly - so I'm willing to say they aren't at fault for the estimate. But still: it took an hour. Delicious pizza. Good location. The customer service was great. Big dining room. Overall a great experience. But i can't in good conscience give it five stars. The major downfall is the cleanliness. To say the bathrooms were a mess is an understatement. They were atrocious. It looked like they have been cleaned in days. The offensive smells. The stains on the toilet seats in the bowl and the urinals. The stains on the floor. I know some nights can get busy. It was going pretty good on the night we were there. A Saturday night to be exact. But hey no ones perfect. I give three stars. One for food. One for the big dining room and one for nice and polite employees. read more

Decided to try this resturant to see if it is better than to other Santa Fe location. I ordered the Ranch Salad with Blue Cheese Dressing. Again, I really think the salads here are good quality at a reasonable price. The only thing that made me rate this resturant a 3 star was the cleaniness of the dine-in tables and condition of the floor. This resturant was slightly worst than the other in regards to cleaniness, and it took about 15 mintues until my salad was ready. read more

Hmmmm. When you order online at 3:56, online ordering says your order will be done at 4:11. You wait in parking lot until 4:10 and drive up to speaker where you repeat your order. Drive to window where your order is again confirmed...then told your subs JUST went into the oven at 4:13??? Why? Why not make them when they were ordered. There was no one in front of me-in fact, drive thru had been empty since I arrived in parking lot at 3:58...there are maybe 5 cars in the lot...At 4:17 they bring out my sandwiches. Dion's pizza has always been my go-to for pizza, salad and subs but my last few orders have been less than satisfactory. The reason I'm writing this review in particular is because we hosted fight night and ordered 3 large pizza plus 2 salads and some goodies. Despicable Pickle! I get that the pickle is not the main star of the Italian sub at Dion's. But some of us like pickles! To be honest, every one that has accompanied subs we've gotten over the years has been horrible - limp, sad and had to be thrown out. But this one!! What the heck! Who would put this on anything? The staff member who made the sub should have thrown it out as soon as they picked it up. Suggestion Dion's - find a reputable supplier of fresh, crisp, edible pickles. The food was alright here, sometimes you get a nice round pizza? While other times you get a nice square. The service was okay as well, however the new general manager, Jesse here is really rude to their staff, I saw the manager get mad at an employee over an employee being late by one minute, he was loud and very cruel towards the employee, and the employee seemed extremely young. I thought the Dions standards were to have a nice and friendly environment towards their employees and customers, I am disappointed. read more

I was pleasantly surprised when my "small" (12") "505" pizza arrived and it was bigger than I imagined. Quite a meal for $10.90. The '505' is Dion's pepperoni and New Mexico green chile pizza. It's a bit light on the green chile, but generous on the pepperoni. Good quality; fair prices; nice, clean dining room; casual atmosphere. Visited Dion's for pizza while in Santa Fe. We dined inside. We were told it would take 20 min for the pizzas to be ready but it took closer to 40. After the 30 minute mark I went to the counter to ask for a water cup. It took about five minutes before someone came over to help me. Meanwhile the "workers" were hanging out in small groups chatting with each other, some even walked past without acknowledging me. I also saw our pizzas were ready and sitting but no one working there said they were ready. Overall it was a disappointing experience and the pizzas were barely lukewarm by the time we got them. It is unacceptable to run a business this way. read more

I've been wanting to sample Dion's fare for a while now. It was spoken of highly amongst some people I hang with. I came in to this location with my Mom during the week at night and yes the pizza was good. I just got a cheese pizza and the craftsmanship was very excellent. I would've rated this place 5 stars but we had one issue and that was this homeless guy with a blue bandana and a can of beer. He was terrorizing the dining area, asking people for money. He asked me for a handout and I said no, but I did offer him a slice. And he just callously laughed at me and reminded me that he was there to "get money." The kicker was that the staff was friendly with this guy and maybe even tolerated his presence. I'm not gonna drop a one star review or get all negative because the place was overall pretty good. But I can tell you I won't ever come back here because that guy was waiting outside for me and my Mom, and she's an old lady, and just mean-mugging us all the way out to our car. And I was super nice to him, too. Like I owed him a debt or something. Anyways, best of luck. Food is good. Service is good and pretty quick turnaround on our order. I'm so disappointed in their new "upgrades" as they call them. The salads are much smaller and mostly comprised of croutons yet the prices have gone up. When I pointed this out to the cashier she feigned ignorance, saying they'd been "upgraded". Lol...ok so that must be part of the new training. Just because you have new croutons and calamdoesn't mean they're better, where's the other half of my damn salad?! Just save yourself some money and make your salad at home. Friday evening 7/29/2022. Ordered a family salad to go and was told there would be a 15 minute wait. While waiting was observing other customers. Two gentlemen wait next to me said they had been waiting for over half an hour for their salads. There salads showed up a few minutes later, but were incorrect. They were not too happy when they left. Then another customer came to the order area and ask to have someone wipe down the tables as are were dirty. Used to love Dions. Lately the to go orders haven't been great. Our latest dine-in experience has us rethinking returning. Ordered one large pizza for a very hungry family of 4. Sat down and waited and waited. Checked in with staff to see how much longer and they stated 3 minutes. Waited longer. After an hour passed checked in with staff to hear different stories "wrong toppings on pizza," "gave pizza away," "haven't started the pizza." Manager stated it would take 20 minutes. We asked for a refund and she was only going to honor a refund on toppings until we complained enough she refunded the entire pizza. Left without pizza and hangry! read more

I had a really bad experience at the Dion's on the Southside a year ago. One of their reps reached out to me, which I appreciated, to try and make it right. Since then, I've tried both Dion's multiple times and things just haven't gotten any better. On the last visit, I ordered a small salad and a medium pizza. I got the salad within 5 min which was great. 45 minutes later, no pizza. I went up to check, just to find out the pizza had been done for 20 minutes and sitting in the kitchen. They never checked or called. It was so cold by that point, I asked for a manager. She didn't offer to remake it or anything, just refund the pizza...and just the pizza. Didn't matter that I ordered a side of ranch which cost more for the pizza that I no longer had and no longer needed the ranch. I'm done with Dion's and will never go back. read more

This was my first time visiting the Santa Fe location and we were pleased. The staff was very friendly. When we were charged for a fruit cup we were promptly given a refund when it was discovered they were all out of them. I was given 2 ranch dressings with my sub instead of an extra ranch with the Greek dressing that normally comes with it but the ranch is delicious and these errors didn't impact the experience. We live in Georgia now and make a yearly visit to New Mexico and Dion's is one of our required stops. My 4 year old son hasn't been to New Mexico in 2 years and spent hours ranting and raving about how much he loved the pizza here. Dion's was my first job in college when I moved away from home, and the fact that I still love the food there says a lot. read more
