From the moment you walk in, you feel like a Diosa. This is a woman owned restaurant and let's just say this is a perfect place to go with your girl tribe. Excellent food and drinks. Ordered bacon wrapped shrimp, beef empanadas, Ahi wrapped tacos, smoked guacamole, shrimp enchiladas and beef enchiladas. All were excellent!!!! Echoing most reviewers here that the prices are pretty steep. Appetizers, cocktails and desserts go for $15 and up here, the main entrees $30 and up. The food is pretty decent - i would say the Camaron el diablo (shrimp in spicy red sauce, with garlic butter bread and cilantro rice and beans, Caesar salad and salmon risotto were hits while I would suggest to skip on the Carnitas, Bone marrow, Enchiladas, Steak empanadas. I would say it's great for birthday celebrations given they're able to accommodate large parties and have good interiors and ambiance. The service was friendly enough. Here I was getting ready to dine at Diosa for my wife's birthday, she was excited about the comments, pictures and menu. She even asked me and my son to dress up because this place is strict about dress code. We got there and the place looks lonely just a few people by the bar and another group seating right behind our table. My surprise was that people in jeans other with shorts so I was thinking, what the heck? I should've just come in comfortable clothes. The anticipation grew when the waiter and other person brought some fancy drinks with smoke from dry ice and a box to make exiting. I not really in to optics I am about the quality and taste of the drinks but they were disappointing, too flat and not good enough to order another one. The waiter offered water for the table so without thinking we say yes, interesting fact no restaurant has ever asked us if we wanted distilled water or tap water. Another thing these people don't offer any complementary chips and salsa like other restaurants, everything is charged to your bill at the end. Food was mediocre and expensive, we requested a cheesecake in advance and it was nasty and very low quality with tons of food coloring, no appealing not decorated but somehow ridiculously expensive. $168.00 for a cheesecake, you have Porto's down the street with superior quality and way cheaper in price. Food not as authentic as they make it seem, you don't believe compared the food here to ChaCha's in Brea and you let me know. This Diosa restaurant is overrated, pricy and honestly I don't think a place like this will survive for too long. Better options out there, don't get fooled read more

Came here for my birthday lunch with friends. I suggest to come at 3pm for the happy hour menu. Steak Nachos are the best! They use mole sauce instead of melted cheese and they are delicious. As soon as I drove into the parking lot and saw the restaurant, I was like "ooh this place is fancy!" Very aesthetically pleasing. When I walked in, I was continued blown away by the decor. Diosa gives a Javier's vibe. 5 stars for the service and ambiance. Our waiter was very attentive, explaining the menu and constantly checking on us. 4 stars for the food and drinks. If you don't like spicy, make sure to ask the waiter/waitress which dish isn't spicy because everything we ordered was spicy. My shrimp enchiladas meal was just ok. Too much sauce, almost overpowering. I had leftover and it tasted much better the next day...I ordered the jalapeño pineapple margarita and it was nothing but pineapple juice. I told our waiter and it took it back and I ordered the Diosa X instead. Our waiter said he tasted the margarita and agreed that it tasted like straight pineapple juice. Now the Diosa X was smooth! Came here last night to celebrate a friends birthday and it was such a pleasant experience. The interior is beautiful. Our waitress Taylor was amazing. Gave us suggestions on drinks and menu options. I had the octopus which was delicious. It was perfectly cooked and tastes just like a steak. They really did an amazing job on that dish. My friend had the enchiladas poblano and my other friend had the salmon. We all loved our food and everything came out exactly as requested (my friends had some dietary requests). The drinks were beautiful and very tasty. They have a margarita cart that comes around and makes your drink table-side. The prices might be a little steep but your paying for the entire experience and quality which we received. Only reason they didn't get five stars was because there was a point where are dishes had backed up, and nobody had come by to pick them up off the table. Maybe some extra bus people so the waitresses dont have to clean up. read more

Came here for a good Mother's Day dinner with my mom and sister (and kids lol). Although my sister booked a reservation at 415pm with OpenTable we still waited 40 minutes to be seated. What was good about that is they have a big patio out front where you sit and wait until your buzzer goes off. Upon being seated finally it was so cute of them handing out Mother's Day cards and a single rose to each Mom. The ambiance is very upscale and it is family owned. We got our drink order taken first and those were pretty quick in coming out. We also ordered the kids their food while the adults pondered on what we wanted. The kids food came out in a timely manner and loved the details to the chicken tenders with fruit on the side. My niece even killed her plain quesadilla and strawberry lemonade. They don't have a kids menu but the waitress will let you know they have a kids "secret menu". I ordered the enchiladas poblanas and they were amazing. Definitely different than what I have had before. I am personally not a fan of mole but this was good it gave it that hint of sweetness without the sour taste to it. Our appetizers was also delicious (shrimp taquitos) the slaw it came with had a kick to it and we ate every bit of it. For dessert we all shared a guava cheesecake and OMG the best guava cheesecake ever! What we loved about it is that it was heavy and empowering in taste. It was light and fluffy and had a fresh taste to it. I highly recommend you try it on your visit here. If you decide to go after 4 or does get busier so just plan accordingly. Parking can also be a hassle since it's a shopping center and it isn't only designated for Diosa. Just be careful where you park, if it looks like it will be tight just find a bigger spot or you'll risk getting your car damaged like mine. Other than the wait time to be seated the food and drinks are worth the price. Everything was tasty and it's understandable why it gets packed it's a very beautiful establishment. DIOSA! Diosa means Goddess in Spanish. There was so much buzz when this restaurant opened. I finally made my way here after 2 months. Despite the quick experience, it merits a review. The ambience is a 10 out of 10. Whoever designed this place, the menu, the food, the drinks, and everything in between deserves an award. It's honestly a feast for the eyes. I sat at the bar and that alone was an experience. The decor was beautiful. The people who worked there were beautiful. Everything was beautiful. The service was impeccable. Despite the establishment being labeled "upscale" , there was no snobbery to accompany it. The people we encountered were so hospitable and polite. They made our experience there enjoyable. The food was good. That I cannot complain about. Granted I only tried two dishes. The drink I had (I mentioned it was a quick visit) was AMAZING. It had me at first sight from its beauty. I watched the bartender prepare it and I was amazed. I kept asking what each step in the process was. I realized the X Fenty was right up my alley and asked for one. I was not disappointed. If I'd had more time I would've had a second one. I guess my only gripe would be the prices. Then again, inflation is everywhere. I honestly can't justify an order of wrapped shrimp for ....:checks menu price: $28. Despite the prices (and I'll take full responsibility for disliking that) , I'd definitely want to visit Diosa again. I'm so glad Downey had a nice venue like this to dine at. I originally picked this place because it is woman owned, and I love supporting that, and the setting looked cute! Some spots of the restaurant could use more lighting (leading to the bathroom), but it's nicely decorated. The menu isn't vast, but the dishes are on point! I had the mole and the chicken was so tender and juicy! The salsa from the chips has a little kick to it; just ask for some limes. Their cocktails are beautifully crafted and really yummy. Price point is a little high, but it's definitely a treat! Great place for dinner on a date night. If you get there before 6, self parking is no problem. After 6:30 it becomes impossible to find a spot and you have to pay for valet. read more

Initial impression was mixed with excitement and ahh as ambiance was upscale & chic. We made reservations and were seated right away. We unfortunately didn't get the fun talkative host, we had to read his name on the receipt to fill out the customer survey card. Drinks were ok not too strong not too flavorful. We had a party of 5, who enjoyed guacamole & queso appetizers followed by chicken mole, chicken fajitas, enchiladas verdes & camarones al mojo de ajo. Everything tasted fine dishes are maybe a little pricey for what they are but ehh we understand we're paying for the ambiance etc. What we didn't expect was gratuity automatically added and the service fee (smh) who does that? We'll probably hit Lagos in Fullerton or El Pescador in Downey next time we want a vibey Mexican dinner. read more

We went on Saturday mid day, the restaurant was very clean and beautiful decor. Seats very comfortable. The service was great, very professional and kind staff. We took our kids and they were happy and comfortable. The food was really good we tried burritos, carnitas and enchiladas and they were good portions and very tasty. He takes of my cocktails, food, special requests etc. He makes a truly exceptional Raspberry Lemon Drop Martini when I visit. Much appreciated. Robert is good too. First I will start with the ambiance and decor. DIOSA definitely has that West Hollywood vibe! From the fancy chandeliers to the chic interior, I have to say the owners did a really nice job with the decor. The gorgeous chandeliers hanging in the entryway definitely make a statement! The hostesses were friendly and we were seated immediately which was nice. After being seated, we began to look over the drink menu and with the help of our waitress, we made our selections which we both enjoyed. I definitely recommend the Watermelon Paleta! Once we began to look over the menu, we realized there weren't a lot of options to choose from. For someone like myself who doesn't eat meat, I had asked if they could make their Enchiladas Poblanos without steak and cheese instead. I was told this was not possible, which I found odd. We ended up ordering the Arroz Verde, Poblano Mashed Potatoes, and guacamole. All three items were delicious!! With that being said, I was disappointed with the lack of menu options and the inability to make cheese enchiladas. The restaurant is beautiful and our waitress was amazing, but Not somewhere I'd choose to return to myself unless a friend invited me or an event was taking place here. They have girls in glittery dresses going around offering margaritas. The plastic bottles with the labels slapped on them made the small cart look tacky. They do not bring the food at the same time for everyone. By the time one of us was done eating the other plate would finally arrive. The Goddess Hour Margarita had a mixture of ingredients and was quite strong. We enjoyed the salsa trio and the different colors, tastes and textures of each. The shrimp taco was my favorite; enough shrimp and plenty of vegetables. While yummy, the lobster quesadilla didn't have enough lobster to match it's $35 price tag. We were served and checked on by three of four bartenders. All were beautiful and friendly. Two managers asked about our experience while dining and on our way out. For this visit, we tried the Fettuccine Del Mar, Diosa Guacamole, and Mango Habanero Aguachile. Fettuccine del mar: The noodles are cooked perfectly, and the parmesan cheese is fantastic. The noodles and the cheese are mixed in front of you, which is unique. The chicken was fresh and grilled to perfection. Tableside chile flakes and herbs are also served along with garlic bread, which goes well with the pasta. Diosa guacamole: It has such a rich flavor you can taste the freshness of the guacamole in every bite.
