We came in about 12:15pm on Saturday. Asked for a table for 4. We weren't told there would be a wait, just they would let us know when a table was available. After 20minutes, a party of 6 walked in without a reservation and were seated within 5 minutes. We let another 15 minutes pass by and asked about the table. We were told the full party had to be here prior to being seated. This would have been ok, if we were informed of this requirement prior to waiting over 40 minutes for a table. read more

DIOSA! Diosa means Goddess in Spanish. There was so much buzz when this restaurant opened. I finally made my way here after 2 months. Despite the quick experience, it merits a review. The ambience is a 10 out of 10. Whoever designed this place, the menu, the food, the drinks, and everything in between deserves an award. It's honestly a feast for the eyes. I sat at the bar and that alone was an experience. The decor was beautiful. The people who worked there were beautiful. Everything was beautiful. The service was impeccable. Despite the establishment being labeled "upscale" , there was no snobbery to accompany it. The people we encountered were so hospitable and polite. They made our experience there enjoyable. The food was good. That I cannot complain about. Granted I only tried two dishes. The drink I had (I mentioned it was a quick visit) was AMAZING. It had me at first sight from its beauty. I watched the bartender prepare it and I was amazed. I kept asking what each step in the process was. I realized the X Fenty was right up my alley and asked for one. I was not disappointed. If I'd had more time I would've had a second one. I guess my only gripe would be the prices. Then again, inflation is everywhere. I honestly can't justify an order of wrapped shrimp for ....:checks menu price: $28. Despite the prices (and I'll take full responsibility for disliking that) , I'd definitely want to visit Diosa again. I'm so glad Downey had a nice venue like this to dine at. Came here for my birthday lunch with friends. I suggest to come at 3pm for the happy hour menu. Steak Nachos are the best! They use mole sauce instead of melted cheese and they are delicious. Decor is gorgeous. Came for brunch. Bottomless mimosas for 2 hours was $26. Brunch menu selections looked great. Ordered the steak arrachera and eggs. It was a little salty. The food was amazingly delicious and the presentation along with the name of alcohol beverages were spectacular and very chic & cute and definitely quench worthy ladies;). The front desk hostess along with the server was super sweet and definitely worth the moment of my experience at Diosa. I believe ladies know the assignment when the girlies gather to have a good time and enjoy themselves because so many of the lady staff members stopped to ask to step in and help take our photos of our rememberable night. Great addition to the Downey upscale dining scene. This has been a regular hangout spot for me and my peeps ever since it opened last January. I usually sit with Mike at the bar. He takes of my cocktails, food, special requests etc. He makes a truly exceptional Raspberry Lemon Drop Martini when I visit. Much appreciated. Robert is good too. He got promoted to be a manager now. Good for him!!! Wagyu - Must get. Santorini - Must get. Diosa & Co - Must get. Street Corn - Must get. Fettuccine Del Mar - Superb. Food is on the pricier side for Downey. You are paying for the variety in their menu and the ambiance! First I will start with the ambiance and decor. DIOSA definitely has that West Hollywood vibe! From the fancy chandeliers to the chic interior, I have to say the owners did a really nice job with the decor. The gorgeous chandeliers hanging in the entryway definitely make a statement! The hostesses were friendly and we were seated immediately which was nice. After being seated, we began to look over the drink menu and with the help of our waitress, we made our selections which we both enjoyed. I definitely recommend the Watermelon Paleta! Once we began to look over the menu, we realized there weren't a lot of options to choose from. For someone like myself who doesn't eat meat, I had asked if they could make their Enchiladas Poblanos without steak and cheese instead. I was told this was not possible, which I found odd. We ended up ordering the Arroz Verde, Poblano Mashed Potatoes, and guacamole. All three items were delicious!! With that being said, I was disappointed with the lack of menu options and the inability to make cheese enchiladas. I am giving three stars for the limited menu options and the extremely overpriced sides. Our bill was over $100 for sides and two drinks! read more

You will order an overpriced meal for sure. The food that we ordered just seemed like overpriced tacos. The food came with your typical store bought tortillas. The restaurant is beautiful and our waitress was amazing, but Not somewhere I'd choose to return to myself unless a friend invited me or an event was taking place here. They have girls in glittery dresses going around offering margaritas. The plastic bottles with the labels slapped on them made the small cart look tacky. They do not bring the food at the same time for everyone. By the time one of us was done eating the other plate would finally arrive. The crème brûlée was one of the most unique I've tasted, so for that five stars. read more

What a wonderful gem in Downey! Beautiful decor inside and out. They have all day every day happy hour at the huge bar. We ordered from the happy hour menu and most items were reasonably priced. The Goddess Hour Margarita had a mixture of ingredients and was quite strong. We enjoyed the salsa trio and the different colors, tastes and textures of each. The shrimp taco was my favorite; enough shrimp and plenty of vegetables. While yummy, the lobster quesadilla didn't have enough lobster to match it's $35 price tag. We were served and checked on by three of four bartenders. All were beautiful and friendly. Two managers asked about our experience while dining and on our way out. For this visit, we tried the Fettuccine Del Mar, Diosa Guacamole, and Mango Habanero Aguachile. Fettuccine del mar: The noodles are cooked perfectly, and the parmesan cheese is fantastic. The noodles and the cheese are mixed in front of you, which is unique. The chicken was fresh and grilled to perfection. Tableside chile flakes and herbs are also served along with garlic bread, which goes well with the pasta. Diosa guacamole: It has such a rich flavor you can taste the freshness of the guacamole in every bite.
