Japanese Wagyu
Loretta W.

This sweet spot was a delightful surprise. Hidden away in a "strip mall" is this warm and inviting, classy, quiet and elegant restaurant. The service was excellent, with just enough attention to feel taken care of, and not too much so we felt rushed (I hate that). I felt like the servers were invested in us having a wonderful experience. And we did! We ordered the vegetable empanadas, which we spectacular! The crust was perfectly crispy and flaky. Some of the best empanadas I've ever tasted. For our entree, we shared the Japanese A5 Wagyu. The server seared it table-side on some crispy, buttery brioche. We had the poblano mashed potatoes on the side...wow! I was not expecting the flavor bomb that happened in my mouth! So delicious!!! For beverages- I had the Emerald Embers, a tequila-forward, citrusy, Serrano chili sparkle beverage that made me hum; my partner had the most delightful Santorini served and poured table-side in a porthole infuser. Gorgeous! The place is spendy though, so only on special occasions for us. We had a marvelous time!

Pork shank

Beautifully decorated with top-notch service and an impressive cocktail menu. I had to try a few espresso martinis, and they did not disappoint. The pork shank was the standout: perfectly crispy on the outside with tender, fall-off-the-bone meat inside. Definitely the kind of dish you come back for. The shrimp was also excellent--plump and sautéed just right in a rich butter sauce. It's on the pricier side, but after another $20 cocktail, you probably won't mind as much

My original review reflected a very disappointing Mother's Day experience, but I believe it's equally important to recognize when a business makes things right. After my review, Stella, the General Manager, personally reached out, listened to my concerns, and generously invited us back. We returned for Father's Day with my dad and father-in-law, and the experience was a complete turnaround. The service was outstanding, our waiter was attentive and friendly, everything ran smoothly, and the food was absolutely top tier!! A special thank you to Stella, the chefs, and the entire Diosa team for their hospitality and commitment to making things right. Because of this experience, we've already decided Diosa will be one of our go-to spots for family celebrations moving forward. We truly appreciate the effort and look forward to coming back

Birthday celebration dinner! We had reservations for a Friday evening, however, there was plenty of seating available. This establishments embodies an exuberant atmosphere perfect for a memorable dining experience. Stunning decor, featuring chandeliers and stylish furnishings. The cocktails were creative and food exceptional.

I've been here a couple times. Each time was a good experience. The place is nice with a good vibe. The customer service is great too. The last time we had the coco risotto (salmon) and the crispy pork shank. Both were amazing. The ambiance inside is semi dark. The music is a. It on the loud side but not too much. I'd definitely come back!

Chava was amazing !!!!! I had a wonderful experience at Diosa. He was so pleasant and patient with attentive and fast service. We had a large party and his communication and responsive was very much appreciated. Our event was extra special due to Chava and the manager were wonderful!!! The chefs outdid themselves. The flavor, spice and portions were perfect.

5 stars on every level! The restaurant is beautiful, the service was great, the food delicious. The drinks fun!

Our server Emily was amazing and made the whole moment memorable. Came here for my friend's gender reveal and it was such a cute experience. The reveal was so unique they brought it out in a little potion-like box with smoke, which made it feel extra special and magical. The taquitos and street corn were really good, and the service was great.

A five star restaurant in Downey, CA. A five star restaurant experience with great customer service and delicious food! They have rooms and spaces for private dining parties. We had guacamole and chips, shrimp ceviche, a burrito and fajita trio- with chicken/shrimp and steak. Good taste and seasoning. Beautiful black restrooms and nice art throughout the space. This place is really large. We also had margaritas. Great staff, respectful staff, such as Jose and Stella. Warning, a bit pricey, but worth it. We are returning soon.

If you are looking for a local community that is busting and has a vibrant Latin culture representation, come to the city of Downey! And Diosa is a relatively new restaurant to the area. It provides fusion of Mexican and American cuisines with flare and sophistication. Diosa means goddess, if you ever wonder like I did, LOL! . So welcome to the dinning hall of the palace of the goddess! Came here with my coworkers and we had a blast! Loved the margaritas! And the appetizers were amazing which surpassed all the entrees that we had in my humble opinion. Great plating and presentations! Highly recommend the following: DIOSA CHUNKY GUAC Street Corn Chip and salsa Empanadas Ahi Tuna tower- just heavenly! And please at least watch other people ordering the Churros dessert, they really put on a show for you with fire! Our servers were attentive despite our big group. The place is huge! Great for family/group dining. Nicely decorated. Check out their happy hour menu to see which drink or dish you enjoy and come back for dinner later. And don't forget to stop by Porto's, the Cuban bakery, which is located across the street from Diosa, to pick up some freshly baked pastries to complete your trip!

I heard a lot about this place and I decided to give it a shot on a Saturday night with my mom. I heard they have a football bar. They have delicious food and blah blah blah so here we go I decided to order a whiskey sour and a Paloma. My whiskey sour was made twice because the bartender forgot to ask me if I want the egg of course I want it. It's a part of that cocktail.. He brought me the cocktail again, but it was looking really weird and the taste was not really nice and smooth. He offered me to make it again and I'll say no at that point I was really super mega disappointed we had to order food and I decided to cancel it. Imagine the drinks were like that I cannot imagine how the food was gonna be parking situation is really good. You can find parking easy. The team of the establishment seem to be also very top of the game. They're really nice but the drinks are not. They really need a beverage director especially for the bar. What a sadness for my heart that this place has a full bar but not a great cocktails and come back maybe 3 to 6 months to see how they doing again and I'll probably update my review.

Had a bit of gristle, but she was right! VERY good. Loved the black beans. Great flavor. 2) Hubble had pan de bistec. Said it was good. ‍ French fries were really good! Extra crispy. Coated with something-maybe cornstarch? Anyway they were really good. 3) J ordered a Cuban sandwich with extra pickles (chef forgot), yuca, plantains, black beans-extra large. His 3rd time here. He LOVES this place. 4) C ordered camarones with lemon,& yuca side. I had a taste of the yuca. I really liked their version. Maybe cooked in chicken broth? Very flavorful topped with garlic. I'm adding this next time. Other diners didn't give good reviews. We thought it was good! Great bread. Helpful waitstaff. Parking lot spacious. Noticed many people picking up to-go orders. A middle aged lady with a larger group seemed to be waiting for us the leave(tables toward the back are freestanding so can accommodate maybe 10? Anyway gotta back to try the other recommended dishes and the yuca my friend ordered. Seemed pretty busy for a Monday night. Doubt we would come on weekends. Seemed newly remodeled.

Super friendly, attentive, and just made us feel really taken care of the whole time. That kind of service makes a big difference. As for the food... wow. Everybody was to the nines in their attire. The hostess was so friendly and welcoming. She sat us on a high table in the outside patio area. Our server was great (Migel) as well throughout the whole night he had about like maybe six or eight tables still managed to serve our table in an orderly manner, orders take drink orders and maintain it throughout the whole time we were there for dinner. Food here is so next level... The beautiful cuisine to match, so so delicious. Latin flare is alive and well here they had a live band from Miami. It was a cherry on top. It was PERFECT Definitely will be saving this place for future visits when in the area! Great food, service impeccable, and establishment clean, and well presented. Ive taken so many people here and would bring my abuela and mother here for their birthdays and mother's day. There must be some things going on with management because its really losing its touch in several aspects. The drink menu has been cut in half with the remaining drinks not tasting the same if you ordered them a year or two ago. They've really cut back on presentation as well. Pina colada used to be served with a separate shot of the rum it's made with but i havent seen that in a while. The food is beginning to lack in bit of flavor unfortunately. I've been trying to order the pollo guisado for a year and last night was finally told its been removed from the menu although its still there. I've noticed they don't serve you plantain chips and garlic sauce on arrival anymore, used to be immediate but now its only if you ask. It just doesn't feel the same and its so unfortunate.this place has a lot of charm and still has potential but I feel as if its slipping for some reason. I really hope this place picks up.
