Came here on a Monday for some quality coworker time. We started off with a guava diosa Margarita. That was absolutely delicious. Victor, our waiter recommended the steak empanadas which I thought were ehh, ok. I would definitely order the street corn again! It was so good and served with chips. I ordered the enchiladas poblanas and my friend had the camarones a la diabla. Both plates came with a side of rice and beans! There was so much food! I also HAD to get the wagyu. It was soooo good! They cook it table side and Russell did such a good job cooking it to perfection! I would definitely come again for the drinks and I really want to try the tomahawk steak next time! A group of us came for Friday night dinner,which I've been anticipating for months. Diosa didn't disappoint and we had an amazing dinning experience. The ambiance and decor of this place reminded me of a Beverly Hills or Las Vegas restaurant. The vibe is upscale, trendy, festive, and decadent. There's a DJ thats perched in a booth near the bar dropping beats all night long, which added to the ambiance. We sat at the bar from drinks while our table was being prepared, I had a Moscow Mule and my wife had the Coco Channel, both drinks were well crafted and delicious. We were seated and our server was top notch, totally attentive, and proved impeccable service. I ordered the coco risotto salmon that came with rice coconut milk risotto, seared sautéed cauliflower, kale, and diced mango that was simply amazing and full of flavors. I don't even like cauliflower but the way it was prepare was so good. My wife ordered the steak arrechera that was prepared to perfection, it came with charro black beans and arroz verde. Family and I came here on Sunday at 4:30pm because we wanted to have an earlier dinner before a show at the Downey Theatre at 6pm. The restaurant is SO beautiful. I was pleasantly surprised that they had a kids menu. There were a total of four adults and two kids and every single one of us loved our meals. The waiter (I don't remember his name but he had red framed glasses) was EXCELLENT and made us feel welcome. Yes, the food is on the pricier side, but it was delicious and the portions were very generous. The relaxed ambiance and the beauty of the restaurant instantly transfixed our boys (age 5 and 6) and we had the most pleasant family dinner. Even the restrooms were beautiful. Diosa is a new trendy spot here in Downey. So after visiting 3 different times, I think I am ready to give an honest, unbiased review! The good: The place is real nice! Additionally, the presentation on drinks and food was a definitely 10/10! I love that you can make a reservation! The so/so: Food is a solid 7/10! Main dish is 8/10, sides are not that flavorful! I had the Mar y Tierra 7.5! Meat was tender, scallops lacked flavor. I had the Enchiladas Poblanas solid 8! Sides did not taste good at all! Pollo Al pastor solid 8.5! Again sided not flavorful! The bad: This one is a hard one because I know the waiter/waitresses are trying but man for the prices, service stinks! It's not the staff, it's just that they are doing so many different things that they don't provide the service a high end restaurant should be providing! Waiting 15-20 for a drink is unacceptable! A few times took me 10min just to located my waiter. Now, I came 2 different times in 3 different days! A Wednesday, Friday and a Saturday. All 3 times service was 2/10! Lastly, plates do not come out all together! They explain this to you at the beginning. I was done with it my plate before the others in my group had received their good! Don't like this!! Upon arrival, Valet service is offered right in front of the restaurant which was a very convenient option for a $10 fee. The valet opens the car door for the driver & passengers and before entering the restaurant you are greeted by a door host who welcomes you and welcomes you in to the restaurant directly to desk check in with the hostess. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with an open floor plan setting with lots of different chandeliers, tables and booth options (if reserved) and a huge bar. We requested a booth and were accommodated. We had a 6:30 dinner reservation but understandably, it was Valentine's Day & it was pretty busy so we sat at the bar to enjoy some drinks. After 30 minutes our pager buzzed and the hostess seated us at our booth. We enjoyed the beef empanadas starter and they did not disappoint. My husband had the chicken mole and I had the salmon risotto and both dishes had a nice presentation but were also super delicious!! We paired our evening with Martinis for me and my husband had a Paloma and beer. We ended the evening with a delicious ice cream dessert that was so big we could not finish, but was so good. Decided to visit the new place in town with 7 people. We didn't realize it would be a bit more upscale in terms of the dress code, but luckily we were already dressed up. When we drove by, we noticed a bunch of cars waiting for the valet. We decided to get reservations as it looked pretty full. We had resverations at 7:45PM and managed to get in around 8PM. Luckily we added ourselves on there because they stopped taking reservations after that. The ambiance of the restaurant is great! Great music and great vibes. They have girls pushing a margarita cart around along with a Tequila cart. We managed to try both and the margaritas were refreshing. Food: Ahi Tuna Tower 5/5: Tuna was fresh and the cilantro crema mixed in was great. Pollo Al Pastor 3/5: Two big chicken skewers that had great flavor, but it was sort of dry. If it was a bit moister, def would be a lot better. DIOSA Guacamole 5/5: Balanced flavor and pretty large to share Steak Empanadas 5/5: The skirt steak inside was super tender and the cilantro creama mix was delicious. **Highly recommend** Ribeye Parilla 5/5: Grilled medium rare to perfection. It was seasoned well and was a hit at the table. 16oz of steak, our table couldn't finish 2. Trios of Salsa 5/5: 3 different salsas with different spices. Ranges from habenero, serrano, and tomatillo. Great addition to put on top of the empanadas. We wanted to try their Churros but unfortunately, the kitchen wasn't able to keep up with the orders. It smelled like a sewer in the ladies restroom and there was a pile of used toilet paper and toilet seat covers on the corner floor because the trash was overfilled. Additionally, the service is not the greatest from the 2 times I have been there. I went in March and the waitress made us feel rushed as she came up to our table asking if we were ready to pay the bill and if we needed boxes for our food when we clearly were still in the process of eating; our food and drinks weren't even half way done. Before that she came by many times asking if we needed anything else although we kept telling her everything is fine. We went on a Thursday around 5pm, it was not busy as half of the restaurant was empty, so not sure why the rush. If they had a busy night I can understand the rush but it was mostly empty. My second visit was on Mother's Day weekend (Saturday) and it took forever to get our food. I understand Mother's day weekend can get busy, but it took about 45 minutes to get our appetizers. Also one last thing , our waiter was awesome , informative and attentive but we would have liked to been spoken to in english, when we got seated he kept rambling on in Spanish and only one person in our group understood. There was a bit of a wait at the door but nothing serious and as with any other major holiday it was expected, but they planned ahead and had a nice wait area at their outdoor terrace! We had to continuously try to find our waitress. Over all a 4/10 for this place. I'll just come in for drinks as a last minute thing or I don't have any plans. This place will become the new hang out for the DOWNEY Real Estate agents, or a hype IG/TikTok photo spot. Their decor and drinks here are Ok. I finally got to go to Diosa Restaurant, I waited for months before I made first visit to Diosa, I know it's takes time get things going the right way for a restaurant. The Talum Ambiance appears and Dj playing great deep house music was amazing. We had reservations at 7 pm we got seated by 7:10 pm, we waited about 20 minutes before the waitress to acknowledges us after she walking by us over 6 times or more, she finally took our drinks order, we got our drinks about 20 minutes later, the presentation of the drinks beautiful, the only thing they gave me the wrong whiskey for my old fashion drink. We finally got to order our food after a hour pass, the food took about 25 minutes I understand it's Saturday busy day for the kitchen, the presentation of the food looked great and the food was delicious. I was very disappointed with the service, our waitress never came over to our table to ask us if we needed more drinks, we had to flag her down to get her attention to order more cocktails drinks and water, the bartender got me the correct whisky Makers Mark whiskey, our second drinks came to our table, we were done with our dinner, no one bothered to pick up the dirty dishes from our table, our waitress came to our table after we haven't seen her for 15 minutes, she picked up Menus from our table, she didn't even pick up the dirty dishes of our table, 10 minutes later I flagged down one of the employees to please remove the dirty dishes of our table, we wanted to order more drinks but our waitress was no where to be found, the waitress finally came to our table and we asked for our bill, the billing process took over 15 minutes, we still tipped our waitress 20% We spent 3 hours in the restaurant, I wish we could've had more cocktails, we only had 2 each.
