We were the first ones to come in, beautiful decor Tulum-ish vibes, great for the IG "influencer, foodie, hype" ONLY. 1 for the decor!!! Anyway, I'm not sure if it's because we were the first customers to come in there but, their food is beyond flavorless. We order the following: -Pollo Al Pastor and it had no flavor 2/10. It's like it was smothered with "El Pato Sauce" on it, charro beans were good, the rice was no bueno. -The Octopus 3/10 was grilled perfectly but again no flavor. -The empanadas were a 3/10. -The shrimp or fish taco we ordered came in 15-20 minutes late 4/10. (Plate was forgotten or lost) -queso fundido 2-10 -The sea bass was what I think their best dish 6-10. -Service was not up to par. The waitress or the chef forgot one of our plates. We had to continuously try to find our waitress. Over all a 4/10 for this place. I'll just come in for drinks as a last minute thing or I don't have any plans. This place will become the new hang out for the DOWNEY Real Estate agents, or a hype IG/TikTok photo spot. Their decor and drinks here are Ok. The Talum Ambiance appears and Dj playing great deep house music was amazing. We had reservations at 7 pm we got seated by 7:10 pm, we waited about 20 minutes before the waitress to acknowledges us after she walking by us over 6 times or more, she finally took our drinks order, we got our drinks about 20 minutes later, the presentation of the drinks beautiful, the only thing they gave me the wrong whiskey for my old fashion drink. We finally got to order our food after a hour pass, the food took about 25 minutes I understand it's Saturday busy day for the kitchen, the presentation of the food looked great and the food was delicious. I was very disappointed with the service, our waitress never came over to our table to ask us if we needed more drinks, we had to flag her down to get her attention to order more cocktails drinks and water, the bartender got me the correct whisky Makers Mark whiskey, our second drinks came to our table, we were done with our dinner, no one bothered to pick up the dirty dishes from our table, our waitress came to our table after we haven't seen her for 15 minutes, she picked up Menus from our table, she didn't even pick up the dirty dishes of our table, 10 minutes later I flagged down one of the employees to please remove the dirty dishes of our table, we wanted to order more drinks but our waitress was no where to be found, the waitress finally came to our table and we asked for our bill, the billing process took over 15 minutes, we still tipped our waitress 20% We spent 3 hours in the restaurant, I wish we could've had more cocktails, we only had 2 each. We were immediately seated but waited 15 minutes for server and water. When the server finally showed up, she disappeared after taking our order. We asked for another round of water but didn't get it despite several of us getting up to ask. We never got refills of our 8 oz glass of water and ate our entire meal without anything to drink. The tiradito tasted like old limes - can't squeeze fresh limes for customers??? The Mexican street corn was okay, could've used a bit of a kick. The carnitas were the best part of the meal but were still underwhelming. They served this with green rice which was terrible. The carnitas themselves were probably a 3/5. If you can't make great ones in house, outsource from a local shop. There's so many in LA. If I make it back I will stick to the drinks menu. Three stars for the service though! My friend and I decided to try out DIOSA for lunch earlier today around 4pm. We walked in and there was only 1 other couple seated in the entire restaurant since it was a Monday before dinner hours, which neither of us were expecting since it was a new place we were trying, but we figured that's nice maybe they'll give us really good service since they aren't packed (well we were wrong) ‍ The first server who came over was a lady who didn't say much to us but told us to take our time and seemed friendly. Then a different man took over.... The first question he asked us was if we wanted to order mock-tails, which I actually did since I prefer no alcohol. (My friend is in her mid 20s as am I) so instead of asking what she wanted to drink it was weird he specifically asked that instead, as if she was underage and couldn't have any alcohol. Being carded is perfectly understandable protocol but his comment was unnecessary. Mind you we were respectful and nice to him, also some of the only customers in the restaurant so his attitude towards us was completely unnecessary. We were both pretty astounded at the whole thing really... He acted like he didn't even want to serve us the whole time we were there. Other customers showed up and he was very ENTHUSIASTICALLY helping them and smiling, laughing etc. He came by our table 2 times and barely said anything. It took him forever to come by our table to see if we were finished or needed anything else and get the check for us while he was busy talking to his co worker. I think I came across the mean girls version of a guy. I didn't get his name, since of course he didn't even introduce himself as our server or have an ounce of customer service. After contemplating for a few minutes, we decided to leave him a very generous $1 tip. I felt bad leaving nothing at all. ‍ I really don't like doing that, as I am aware a lot of servers depend on tips, but man you really deserved that 110%... tips are for people that actually deserve them. Drinks were delicious and we ordered all the appetizers and each one was pretty tasty and also two entrees. Only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because it's ridiculously priced. I'm not poor but I'm not rich either and so this place will have to be reserved for a once a year treat. Like I said, the food we ate was tasty but nothing to warrant those prices. Like the prices are wild. Let's just say Mastros is cheaper lol. I was there in December 2024. DIOSA is a restaurant placed in a strip mall, but I could see it stand alone in Newport or the Palisades. The decor is a Mediterranean crossed with Vegas. The staff is amazing and during the holiday party season loud and fun for groups. For our intimate dinner for two not so much unfortunately, it couldn't be helped. The food was decent we made the mistake of ordering the pasta out of the Parmesan wheel and it was really salty. The rest of the food and drinks were good though. read more

The beautiful and huge bar is the focal feature of the restaurant, and I expect it to turn into a social hot-spot. It is pricey, but we needed a high-end restaurant in Downey. My sister ordered the steak empanadas, and they were just OK. The street corn comes with freshly made chips, and it was delicious. The enchiladas were really good too, but be warned: they are spicy! We also ordered the Santorini and the Diosa and Co and they were both pretty good. For dessert, they gave us free Horchata ice cream, which was delicious! They also have a churro dish that they make for you table side, we did not get it because we had brought a cake, but the people next to us got it and if you like a show, I would definitely recommend trying it! There are plenty of cute photo ops when you first walk into the restaurant, and we came on a weekday, so there was plenty of parking, but they have their own parking lot and parking is free. The food was pretty good overall. We had a party of 14 and the food took over 30 minutes to be served. The chicken Posole had a super thick spicy broth. The chicken was sautéed and mixed into the Posole so the flavor profile was off. I sent it back. A small bowl is not worth $15 if it doesn't hit the spot. They also charge a 3% surcharge. They explained that it was due to the government inflation so that they don't increase the food prices even more. It can't be waived. Our server was nice and observant. Ambiance was fun.
