I called to schedule an appointment and asked how much it would cost for the SNS nails. I was told it was $45. First issue- Instead of allowing my nails to soak so the product would come off easily she was impatient and took the cotton and foil wraps off too soon and started using a metal tool to scrape and pop off the former SNS nails. I asked her not to do that and to please allow the nails to soak off. She tried explaining to me that that's not good for my nails and she has many customers who let her do it the other way. Second issue- the color. They do not apply a base coat at this place as I have been used to, and therefore the color does not look the way it does on their samples. Fortunately she let me pick a different color that was not as transparent. I have basic round or oval shaped natural nails. I had her cut back the amount that my nails had grown out and she filed them into shape - which has always been part of the service (no change in shape was requested by me. Again I have very basic shaped nails). She then carelessly applied some kind of product that was for fast drying and it got all over the place - it was sticky and then crusty on my fingers. When it dried she took cuticle clippers and started picking it off the sides of my nails and pulling at my skin. She did nothing about the fact that it was also on other areas of my fingertips. At the end, she told me to go wash my hands - I left my purse on the hook and my phone and headphones in the chair I was sitting in. When I turned around she had moved my phone from my chair and put it on her dirty counter and had another person sitting in the seat where I was at. I asked her if she moved my phone and she said yes. I said "why?, I had just went to wash my hands - you don't need to touch my phone and could have waited a couple minutes." She said nothing other than another lady is sitting there now and offered no apology. This lady had been sitting next to me the entire time so why they had her moving to my chair was odd. Then at the checkout she told me my total was $48. I told her I would be paying $45 because it was the price I was quoted when I called this morning to make anappointment. She said the price is $43 that she was charging me $5 to shape my nails. Again I told her no and that I had called an hour before and was told the price is $45. She said maybe the lady forgot we changed our praises yesterday (as if her "forgetfulness" is now my loss?!?). She proceeded to say that she would call the police if I didn't pay the $48! I stood there appalled and stood my ground and shook my head no and stating that I did not ask for any additional service or new shape on my nails and was not told they charge $5 extra to have my nails filed - as that is normally part of the service! She spoke in another language to the other people working there and eventually said "Fine! $45, now!" I paid and I left with my fingers crusty with residue from the quick dry that she dumped all over my fingers. This did not come off even with a nail brush when I was washing my hands at the end of the service. This place was very unprofessional and not clean. The entire time she did my nails she wore gloves however she had left over residue powder and acetone and other products she used, all over her gloves which then got all over my hands as she held them.  This was such a gross experience! I have been going to Grand nails on 67th Avenue & 101 for the last 4 years for SNS and never have I had service that was like this place on Lake Pleasant. Unfortunately my normal nail salon was closed today so I tried to decided to try this place. If anyone is looking for a great nail place please go to Grand nails and do not consider the Dip Nails on Lake Pleasant. read more

I keep telling the tech to slow down and not push my cuticles too much. But she kept going and even used her own nail until it starts to bleed. Despite that, they keep asking me to do the dip and I said no, I have an open wound there is no way I'm letting you touch it. I didn't get my manicure done at all. I've been going here for almost 8 months now and have never had one complaint. The atmosphere in here is amazing. Very little customer service or regard for what a customer wants. Came in for pedicure and dip manicure. Was put in the pedicure chair where the man quickly came to start on my nails. Had absolutely no time to pick the color that I wanted, even showed him a picture so he could help me. Told him I wanted it exactly like the photo but he was more concerned with how fast he could get it over with. I would much rather relax and enjoy my pedicure instead of having someone try to file off my dip polish and burn me. I was in the salon for 35 minutes. Worst experience I have ever had. Was also charged wrong on my card. I am not one to complain but I am paying for a service, I would like it to be enjoyable and not feel like an inconvenience. read more

I usually go here to get my nails done and they usually look great everytime! However this time was not the case. I asked for an ombré nail look. She laid down pink acrylic powder and then went over it with polish in pink and white. Any place i've ever been aside from here does the ombré with the acrylic not polish. I was in the chair for two hours and the length and shape do not look cute for the eye at all. The nails are far off from the inspo pic as well. Cindy started off on my nails and then another lady came into help with the polish ombré. Filed down the length and absolutely messed up the shape so that upset me. and then when i brought it up to her she said that she offered to stay and that her child was in daycare and that if i wanted them finished it could be by her or i would wait for someone else. and was very rude about it. So i told her she should finish and she went on and did. The set was $92 Dollars which to me is just absolutely ridiculous. At the end of the day i will not be coming back i don't think because up until now the service and everything was great everyone was really nice. I don't know what happened to this place. They just don't care at all about the customer. I have gone here more than 10 times. It's close to my house. I wanted this to be my place for nails. But the techs here are just too careless. I have long natural nails, the tech over used the drill and made them super thin and then bend my nails while removing the remaining dip product. When finished I felt like they were not as strong as usual. I was right because three of them cracked within two days. When I went to have them repaired the woman who sits in the first chair on the right refused to fix my nails! Yes she refused to repair my nails unless I had them replaced. She kept saying I needed a new set. I said these are my nails, a new set of what??? Pass up this place. They need serious customer service training. The owner did my nails and after I looked at them they were all crooked and the polish didn't cover my nails completely. When I asked if she could fix them she tried to say they are supposed to look like that because there coffin shape but they actually square shaped. She then tried to file them for me as a fix which was not fixing the issue as it's now making them very short. I got my toes done as well by Mia and she was amazing and very sweet and did a great job. read more

My nail tech of many many years and her husband sold their shop. It became very loud and the new owners are so obnoxious and didn't enjoy going anymore. Was so excited when they both moved here. The shop is beautiful, clean, quiet and all the employees seem happy and stress free. Employees are also dressed appropriately which was lacking after the last shop I went to sold. I highly recommend this shop. Love Kathy that's why I stay with her. Bryan is also amazing and Mia from the previous shop is also there and did my granddaughters, she is also exceptional. For a basic fill took over an hour and half. Charged me for a back fill which I did not ask for nor did she ask me and cost me 10.00. She used my power and just complained the whole time while she used it but charged me full cost when I received 5.00 off the last time I came in. Came in here not too long ago to get my nails done, I decided on acrylic nails and I wanted to an ombré pink and white color. Here's where the problems started! So the person that did my nails was named Danny. Not only did he refuse to paint my nails the color that I WANTED! He also called me boring, and as if calling me boring wasn't rude already, he kept on insisting another color. I refused multiple times politely but he kept on insisting it would look better. Instead of creating a scene where I would be gawked by everyone around me, I went along with the suggestion, peer pressured into it. During the service this guy never listens, always getting distracted and is off in his own world (fitting for someone who peer pressures me into doing something I didn't want) doing whatever he wants even though I complained many times he was being too rough and carless with my hands and that he might cut me. This Danny has his head so far up his own rear he can't even hear anything. After it was all done I looked at my nails with disappointment because they looked terrible, so bad as if my 1 year old daughter had done them. If I ever decide to come back here I will make an appointment to see anybody else but not Danny! read more
