I really wanted to love this place because the location is super convenient -- easy to get to with plenty of parking. Unfortunately, that's where the positives ended for me. The salon itself feels like it's seen better days. The white furniture is noticeably worn -- peeling chairs, scuffed surfaces, and an overall dingy feel that doesn't exactly inspire confidence in cleanliness or professionalism. For the price, I expected more attention to detail and no peeling. I usually pay $40-60 for a dip manicure and this salons pricing was $70 prior to tip. Only 10 minutes into the pedicure did someone come up and show us cancellation messages, made me explain the situation and then dismissed it - (the appts were accidentally cancelled the day before but then I immediately called and said to please not cancel and they said ok and rebooked - I showed them my confirmation texts - their tone was like they didn't believe me) - and then they said they were over booked and could not do the service we had actually booked. It wasn't even busy. Vibe: cold water in pedi tub and when asking for warmer they said it doesn't get warmer. It was literally luke warm bath water feel. The place is dirty. See photos... grimy leather, nail dust everywhere...probably the incorrect design choices for a nail salon. Paid $43 for a half-assed pedi with little focus on any calluses. One of the nail people injured my friend's toe by rubbing it raw. Would never go back and feel bad for not going to my regular nail place in lake Oswego... go to Lake Oswego Nails on Bangy! They offer beverage, confirm services before they start, are beyond friendly, attentive to details... don't make you feel bad for any miscommunication and take walk ins with no issues. read more

I got a gel manicure, which I made an appointment for. It's the worst one I've ever gotten. There was no soaking the cuticles or hands, no exfoliation, barely any cuticle trimming, no moisturizer of any kind at any time on the hands or cuticles, no massage. They didn't even remove the red from underneath my nails from my previous color, and they look awful and uneven. That can happen, and normally I would simply not go back. The reason I am writing this review is that they used a drill to remove my existing gel polish, rather than soaking it off and putting in the effort to remove it properly. This severely damaged my nails, leaving them paper thin and folding, and all the polish peeled off within a few days. I paid $180 with tip for my manicure and an acrylic set for my cousin. I paid for nothing on my nails, and now they are damaged and peeling, and I had to cut them all off. Gel polish is also known as "soak off". This is because you are supposed to indeed soak it off with acetone and remove it manually. They chose to do a shortcut that is not safe. Not only that, they CHARGED me $15 to remove the polish this way. I disputed the charge with my credit card because my nails were so damaged and painful by them drilling the gel polish off. In their response, they accused me of "FULL ATTACK MODE", said that I "broke" my nails when I got home, and said that they have footage of me getting my nails done that they will use. These are really negligent business practices. I never said I didn't get my nails done. The issue is that they caused damage and pain to my nails by not removing my gel polish properly. I visited yesterday and cannot say it was a great experience. I had an appointment, but my dip removal and new set took 2 hours to do. 3 different service providers worked on my nails, as they kept getting up to take different clients. Because it was taking so long, I couldn't end up getting the design I wanted. The nail tech next to my seat was able to do two removals and full sets, and started on a third client in the time I was sitting there. In addition they had a handyman there assembling new furniture for the salon. It was super noisy. I typically get my nails done to relax, but wasn't able to yesterday with the noise and time this took. They also left lots of dip around my nails on my skin, and the top coats is not all the way down the edges of the nails, leaving matte areas. My hope is that next visit, one technician can see my service through. Made an appointment with Lily. When I got there a few minutes early I was told to sit down and wait. Someone greeted me 20 minutes after my appointment time and said Lily wasn't there. Another woman started the service that I had booked with Lily and did not remove my cuticles. I asked if she could remove my cuticles and if that was part of the service for a gel manicure. Today I had one of my best nail experiences since moving to the Pac North area...thanks to the staff at Dipped! We were greeted by such great staff, the environment was beautiful, clean and so relaxing. We both got pedicures and manicures which lasted the full amount of time with the massages being so on point that I fell asleep. I'm so much more particular than my fiancé coming from NY where there are nail salons everyone you have to do your best job when I'm in the chair and my nail tech did just that. My gel color was beautifully painted and my cuticles were evenly cut. My hands and feet were super soft and he even gave me good massage techniques to try when I get home to relieve stress. We were in this area only for the day and it was so worth it. My fiancé's nails and toes were done well as well and he never relaxes when getting them done and today he was totally relaxed. This was such an amazing experience that I wish I could drive here regularly from Seattle just to get my nails done...nonetheless each time there is a need to be in town I'll be setting up my appointment! read more

Only gave 2 stars because the salon was SUPER CLEAN! My nail tech was starting my nails and playing receptionist while the actual was was doing another nail techs eyebrows in the back. Well the original person staffing the desk left shortly after so then my nail tech was the actual receptionist at that point. It took 3 hours and $60 to do the worst set of nails I've ever had. I got in to my car and tried my best not to cry. When the nail tech was done, she looked at me and said "if you can't stand them, make another appointment and I'll try something else". They were thick in some areas and thin in others. The tops were lumpy, glitter was falling off everywhere. They were all different lengths. I ended up going to another salon and had them removed. I hate having to leave a negative review but I'm incredibly disappointed in the manicure I received here. I was charged an absurd amount of money for one of the lowest quality manicures I have ever received. It's been less than 48 hours and my hard gel nails have already begun to chip. Cuticle work and nail prep were nearly nonexistent and the paint job is patchy and streaky. $114 dollars for a manicure with no extensions, acrylic, or detailed nail art is a scam, truthfully. read more

I am not one to leave bad reviews, but this is one story I feel should be shared. I made an appointment online for a full set this morning. Firstly, my appointment got pushed back, which wasn't a big deal whatsoever. I came in, showed her a photo of what I wanted, and let her do her thing. At the end, the shape was so pointy, the nails were too tiny, you could see my nail beds on the side, and my right and left hand were two different sizes. It only took her 40 minutes which could be why. I always hate asking nail techs to redo them or fix them but I am leaving for Hawaii tomorrow and really wanted to love them. She rudely agreed to fix them and allowed me to change the color without my knowledge of the price difference. In the end the experience was awful, I have never had anything like it. It did last 45 minutes but when I went to check out, I was charged an additional $20 to remove the gel which I've never had a salon do that. Highly recommend Lily or Mimi. They know what they're doing. My complaint comes towards a man who has twice, messed up my nails. I shouldn't have let him work on my nails the second time but I thought if I do dip instead of design, it would be easier for him. The first appointment I had was w/ another tech but she had called out so I had to use him. I was there for three hours! The second time was again for three hours. He doesn't know how to shape nails (I had to tell him to fix several nails), he cut my cuticle w/ the drill and he drilled the glue to the point that my nail became flimsy. Both times another experienced tech (Mimi then Lily) had to go over his work. It took Mimi less than an hour to redo his work and that's taking off the polish and doing the designs. They charged me for the dip which I find ridiculous. I sat there for three hours bc someone messed it up and another had to redo their work. I got a manicure with Katie. Everyone was very communicative and friendly upon my arrival. I showed Katie a picture from Pinterest and she was able to replicate it beautifully and quickly! Everything was clean- I didn't notice any stains or dirt like a recent previous review mentioned. there is a little bit of nail dust on the work stations themselves but i've noticed that at literally EVERY nail salon i've ever been to. I don't normally leave reviews but I noticed how many bad reviews they have. I was shocked by some rude clientele who were in at the same time as me and realized a lot of the bad reviews are probably just a product of location - snooty lake Oswego people ugh. one lady was annoyed she had to wait five freaking minutes cause she was on a time crunch (don't bookend your nail appts maybe??). My feet are pretty sensitive and he was very gentle and I didn't feel the slight bit uncomfortable. This is only the second pedicure I have had during Covid and I felt very safe. The environment and space was very clean and their Covid protocols were very good. My friend also had a great technician. My friend and i decided we are both going to start coming here regularly as we really enjoyed the service and environment. It is a little more expensive than the other place we went to up the street previously but the environment and cleanliness warrant it for me. I thought perhaps we might be moving but was stalled another 15 minutes. The 15 minute delay turned into 30 and time was ticking away. We finally got up and left because it was rude to leave us sitting there and obviously took walk-Ins in addition to our confirmed appointments. Terrible Experience - False Advertisement and Poor Communication I almost never write negative reviews. I'm also aware that I like complex nail art that not everyone is capable of doing - I get that. So, I specifically chose Dipped Nails because of their claim of "nail art beyond expectations" and the promise that they could achieve nail art that others might consider impossible. I had been a few times before with Ruby, and was impressed with her skill, but she has moved. I inquired with Dipped about another technician capable of handling complex nail art, and I was given a name and scheduled an appointment with her. When I arrived for my appointment, the technician I had booked was out sick, and no one bothered to inform me beforehand. Instead, I was randomly assigned to another technician. I asked about her ability to do complex nail art and was assured by the owner that she could handle intricate designs. I showed her a picture of the nail art I desired, and what followed was two hours of frustration and disappointment. The technician struggled immensely and had to repeatedly seek assistance, not just with the art but even with basic tasks like applying an iridescent chrome color. After wasting my time and patience, I left the salon with nothing close to what I had wanted - just plain, shimmery blue nails. No art, no complexity, and certainly not worth the $85.00 price tag for a simple fill and polish and a color I didn't like. To add insult to injury, the lackluster response from the owner was equally disheartening. Although she had watched it all unfold, and I voiced my concerns, she made excuses, said the photo I'd shared was photo shopped etc. Never even offered an apology. Eventually I received a meager 20% discount on the unjustifiable bill - but I have to another salon to get the color fixed and get some nail art done. Dipped Nails' false advertising and complete lack of communication were beyond disappointing. If the design I wanted was too intricate, a simple conversation could have led to an alternative solution or suggestion. Instead, I was left feeling frustrated, cheated, and utterly dissatisfied. I'm sure my nail tech was frustrated, too! I strongly advise anyone seeking quality nail art to avoid Dipped Nails at all costs or at least make sure they've seen the work of the technician they are assigned. Their inability to deliver on their promises, combined with their lack of communication and customer service, makes them a salon I will never visit again. Save your time, money, and sanity by looking elsewhere for your nail art needs. read more

Dipped is super clean and following Covid safety guidelines, survey of questions in advance, temperatures before entering and masks worn by everyone. We both got the Jelly Pedi and it was the best pedicure I have ever gotten. Stephanie went above and beyond to make me feel relaxed. Mimi has been my nail artist long before she took ownership of Dipped last year. I always look forward to getting my nails done, every time it's a new adventure! At least it is for this somewhat-hip-older chick like me. Yay! She has beautifully transformed my nails over the years. When I started seeing her I was sporting a short-french-tipped-square-shaped set of acrylic nails. At the time I liked them and they looked hella better than my naturals. Now, my nails are long-new-colors-design-every-time-coffin-shaped set of acrylic beauties. A new set or backfill will easily last three weeks if you take care of them and not use them as tools or weapons, and the prices are comparable with the area. Mimi is filling her lovely salon with with top-notch nail artists like herself. I am sure some of you reading this are already a regular of one of them! I've had acrylics for seven years now and struggled for the first few years to find a nail artist that was amazing at not only the nail art, but the shape as well as consistency in quality. I started going to Mimi originally when she worked at another salon, and followed her to Dipped after she left that nail salon. Mimi is absolutely outstanding at doing nails, in all regards. I am extremely particular about my nails, and pay close attention to the details. Mimi's work is precise and is never ever sloppy. Her work is comparable with celebrity nail artists that I've seen, and is affordable. She's extremely talented artistically and has a lot of creative vision. I can be indecisive about what design I want and she goes above and beyond to execute the vision that I had, and often does a better job than the reference image or the original idea. I can't say enough good things about her and her work. I live two hours away now and continue to make the drive for every fill because she is the best nail artist I've ever been to. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. This is the worst gel manicure I have ever gotten. Katie, the mail tech, was in her phone and then yelled at me when I asked her to push my cuticles back. She sad that I should have asked her earlier. doesn't a manicure involve pushing the cuticle back and trimming it? Another tech put the top coat on and noticed how scraggly my nails looked so she did her best to improve the appearance. I was told Katie was the best tech. I had an appt at 5:45. At 5:55 they stuck my hands in bowls of acetone and did not take them out until 6:15 when I asked how much longer would it be until they got to me. My nails are now completely dried out and gross. The bathroom was dirty and covered in dust and hair. Everything had a layer of dust. I will never return. read more

Had powder dipped French manicure done here on Friday evening & by the following Sunday morning it looked absolutely terrible. Two nail tips had cracked entirely and four others had lifted around one or more of the edges. This was an extremely poor quality manicure. I won't even post my pics cause I felt embarrassed for them, I mean the place is called DIPPED & I asked for THE MOST BASIC dipped manicure style there is..... The technician Nickey was however very friendly & I enjoyed speaking with her so much while she worked that I was nice as could be while leaving, without pointing out to her the bumpy topcoat (which she definitely noticed when putting on my cuticle oil) as both the remaining women there had made it very clear that I was the last appointment to be there on THEIR friday evening & THEY were ready to go home.. I left the salon fifteen minutes earlier than my appointment was even scheduled to end, arriving at my later evening engagement with plenty of time but rushed, ugly, lumpy nails :( Anyway, I had it re done elsewhere (Monday, just two full days later) since dipped wouldn't answer or acknowledge my MANY phone calls regarding the quality. How very polite of them!! They have created a really beautiful salon space & cute vibe in here but the quality of experience/product does not live up to the luxurious look.. First off, I already left my review with the same photos and conversations and the owner decided to delete it. Sooo, here we come on Yelp. I'll re-post my review over and over again. I first found this salon via Instagram and messaged them asking who they referred from their staff for complex free hand art, etc. Katie was one of the three. I ran to their online booking and booked the first appointment that Katie had available. Upon arriving I noticed that the salon is very dirty. Very dusty. Tons of busted spots/holes on their walls, the glass fixture (pictured in their salon photos) has tons of busted holes in it, the handwashing sink wall is ungodly gross. Still, I sat in the chair because above all else Katie was very welcoming. I booked an appointment for a full ACRYLIC set with a medium design. After Katie prepped my nails she told me that my nails were "short and damaged" and she recommends GelX. She never disclosed any pricing differences. Still, I happily sat there and allowed her to do her thing. GelX is minimal labor required compared to applying and shaping a full set of acrylic - they literally attach a full false nail using a builder gel and dry it with a handheld UV light. Minimal shaping is required because based on the shape you want, they have a nails that come that shape already. She then did a yellow french tip on 6 fingers - this took her quite awhile for an "experienced advanced nail tech". Then, she did 4 fingers with half lemons (pictured). This to me is far from advanced nail art. I come from having hand drawn designs, characters, etc and THAT is when I get charged for "advanced". I get to the register and see I am being charged $108 (for minimal labor) and I still happily pay, and Venmo her a $15 tip. Fast forward 5 days and one nail is broken and two are lifting. I then text Katie asking her the policy on fixing nails and she immediately tells me she will refund me??? So I clarify that she can't fix them and she tells me no because we won't work well in the future??? Confused I agree to the refund, but, still so upset! In the beauty industry if you are offered to fix a mistake, you take it! Mistakes happen! I wanted my nails fixed, even though I didn't get what I WANTED and BOOKED and the salon was gross. I planned to continue seeing Katie. I told Katie that I would be sure to leave a review containing photos and that is when she THEN offered to fix my nails. Trying to steer clear of a bad review! Needless to say, I won't be returning now. I have come to realize that if you are not a regular customer for these people then they could care less about serving you. They charge more than normal due to location and boast they have great quality when that is far from true. 12/10 do not recommend. read more

Came to Dipped to get a new set for up coming lunar new year. The nail tech can tell that my nails were pretty thin and fragile, so instead of applying the gel polish right the way, they had a thin layer of rubber gel to strengthening my nails first. When I arrived the store was clean and aesthetically pleasing. I took a seat. I was not immediately greeted. Did take about 10 minutes before someone said something to me. I'm not happy with my experience and I won't return. For starters, I booked with Mimi online due to the only positive reviews here being for her. When I arrived, my reservation was changed at the last minute to a different technician. I had gel nails that needed to be removed, and while it was a pretty fast process, one small part was missed. I noticed that none of the tools used seemed to be sanitized. I noticed dust/remnants on the cuticle clippers that the technician used on my nails, and the files and buffers all seemed to be pre-used. Everywhere I have ever had my nails done has you purchase your own file and buffer, so this was concerning to me, as it is not sanitary. My tech was hard to communicate with - she was extremely soft-spoken, and with it being kind of loud in the salon, I didn't always hear her or understand her. She was also very short - I showed her the design I wanted, and she said ok before I could let her know that I wanted a different color for my design. Whatever. She asked me what shape I wanted my nails, and I said rounded. She gave me square-ish very uneven nails, so much so that I had to file them again once I got home (and they're still uneven). The gel application was a bit sloppy (I had to file off a pointy section on my nail when I got home), and some of the glitter flakes came off when the topcoat was applied. This was the most unprofessional experience I've had at a salon, and given the poor sanitation of the tools, I will not return and recommend that customers look elsewhere. read more
