Typically when you call for Direct Tv service these frauds from FirstNet will show up at your door usually at the same time of your Direct Tv appointment or even before. They will try to get you to switch your cell service to AT&T and they will promise you great discounts and they will do it at your home. They will give you current I Iphone to entice you. So I scheduled an appointment for Thursday and the tech didn't show so customer service made up some BS about them being busy so they rescheduled for Saturday, and guess what the tech said I want home( he didn't know I have cameras) tech didn't show up again. So they rescheduled for Monday we will see what happens. Funny thing is they dont have a problem taking my money, if I was late I bet they would charge me for not paying. Direct TV customer Service is one of the worst I have ever experienced. I have a Premier account that is active and current in good standing. My home have a total of 4 televisions . One of the Genies is not working. I made myriad phone calls to AT&T Direct TV customer service. - 1st call : advised of 6 minute wait that went to over an hour, and still no live person to assist. - 2nd call : advised of 10 minute wait that went as far as to approximately an hour with no response from anybody from Direct TV. - 3rd call was answered at 28 minutes and 20 seconds. Currently at 1:08 minutes, still unable to activate the 3rd genie remote box. In conclusion: AT & T / Direct TV customer service In the United States of America is 3rd rate maybe 4th or even 5th in my book. I was once a DirecTV customer. I honestly liked the product, the remote, the guide, the interface. I did not like the constant price increases and the blatant dishonesty such as when I renegotiated the price for another year just before buying a second home which I owned for a couple of years. I put my DirecTV on vacation hold for 6 months while I went to live in the 2nd home and was told specifically that my new 12 month rate would be honored for 12 months I use the service at the first home (the 6 month vacation hold would not "eat into" the 12 month time frame. Turns out the 6 month vacation hold DID eat into the new 12 month contract. So, I watched DirecTV at my first home for 6 months, put it on vacation hold, went to live in 2nd home for 6 months, then when returning to 1st home and reactivating the DirecTV I had not used in 6 months my rate increased drastically. When I asked a DirecTV rep they told me the previous rep simply lied to me to get me to renew. Presently, years later, DirecTV has begun sending mail to my home soliciting new DirecTV service to my father. My issue with that is he passed away in January of 2023, (my deceased father NEVER resided at this address or even in this state ). I called DirecTV to ask for help getting his name and address removed from their marketing mailing list and I was told that since neither my father or I are current customers with accounts with AT&T they are not able to help me and to just ignore the mail. It is unsettling and disturbing getting solicitations for long dead parents. After waiting for 1 hour 27 minutes (stupid me) with her coming back on the line every so often to assure me that the supervisor was coming, she disconnected the call. I was a direct TV customer for many years, since 2008 or so. We became a customer and were pleased with them. Mainly because we were living in Pahrump, NV. and cable wasn't available where we were. A couple of years later we moved to Las Vegas because the mileage on our vehicles was outrageous. Directtv CLAIMED I wouldn't be charged for moving. There was confusion on their part and I wound up getting charged a $200 fee. No pay no connect,, that's what they said. So I had to pay it or go elsewhere. Fast forward to 2019,,,, AT&T owns directtv and the service has gone downhill fast, if you can even call it service. I had problems with the TV box, channels not coming in, DVR not recording properly, etc.. I tried to reach the service department but the hold times were ridiculously long. I believe they did that on purpose to avoid any issues and customer complaints. I even skipped a payment or two to make them call me so I could address the issues I had. I always paid my bill for them even though I received crappy TV service. I finally had enough and told them to come pick up their crap on the curb,, I was done. They said I was in breach of contract so they were going to charge the me $200 . I said go pound sand, if anyone is in breach of contract it's directtv for lack of service. Long story short,, I now have some a-hole collection company on my credit report wanting $259 because they bought my collection from directtv. I'm not complaining, I'm warning you, Mr and Mrs consumer, don't waste your money on directtv. They have no interest in customer service nor do they know what it is. Peace read more

Direct tv is horrible and I WASNT EVEN A CUSTOMER YET! The installer Keith, came to my home and said he couldnt start the job because the internet wasnt changed over yet. As he was leaving the internet guy was pulling into my drive but do you think Keith turned around - NOOOO! I could tell when he walked in my home that he had no desire to do the job anyway. Nine calls later where I was told by Candace, Yvonne, Tisha and a few other people that someone would be out today - it's 7:19pm - an no, no one came out. So I called again and am now told that someone would be out on August 1, 2018. NO FREAKING WAY!. What I didnt tell you is that Directtv also called me 4 times today and said the installer was in my driveway - no he wasn't; that he was on his way - no he wasn't and that it would be installed anywhere from today to Monday, July 23, 2018. It will be interesting to see if someone shows up at my house on Monday.......In no way, shape or form would i EVER recommend direct tv. They absolutely suck. When I lived in Ohio, I was a customer for over 10 years - NEVER, NEVER AGAIN. Good experience so far with DirecTV. These days, there's a cable package to fit any budget, but I haven't bothered getting one for the past eight years or so- until I moved into my new apartment, which provides a free basic DirecTV package to all residents, with a simple $50 installation visit fee. Called on a Tuesday and had someone out that Thursday morning, set a general morning appointment to stop by between 8AM-noon and the guy arrived around 9:30 and was gone, with my cable up and running, by 10. He answered my questions, provided me with a userguide of tips and tricks, and helped me figure out the remote prior to leaving- and let me know which channel was ESPN! No issues yet, and I don't anticipate any either- will definitely change this review to reflect if any come up, but based on my phone experience scheduling the visit and the tech who came to set up, work was professional, friendly, and quick. Now if only the on-screen guide would just not show me all of the channels and shows/movies I'm missing out on! ;) read more

I was a customer for a long time, like 20 yrs , but I had to let go of them. I like them because they have the basketball package. But they got so high it was ridiculous. Now you can't get all the games with just the package. You have to also have something called choice to watch the games that come on 216 NBA channel for $30 more dollars. They couldn't help me because I was not a spouse or domestic partner, so they scheduled to disconnect the service, asked me to send back receivers only for me to call back and create a new account and then have them reinstall service equipment they just asked me to send back. I just need to update my post. The stars didn't change as far as me giving it a 1. My mini receivers keep freezing up and aren't picking up a signal so I called to have them troubleshoot over the phone. We went through the whole process for about 45 min. It's still not fixed so the rep. tells me she needs to set up an appt for a tech to come out... ok that's fine. BUT she says it'll be a $99 fee! I was like WHAT!! I have to pay you guys to come out and fix your shitty ass equipment? WTF? COX cable comes out for free! She said there's an option to pay an extra $8.99/mo for a warranty... fuckin ridiculous. I've had DirecTV since December 2015. This morning I called to cancel and learned that they expect me to disconnect, package and return their equipment. I explained that I am an old lady with limited mobility and asked that they send a technician to retrieve the equipment. The response was "we don't do that." Spent 1 hour on the phone with Direct TV. According to them, the package I purchased does not include sports channels (220, 212,215,618,219). So they charge $7.29 for them. So here is the listing of channels that comes with the package I purchased and they are clearly included. Also, up charged me $40.00 for no reason on my monthly bill for the last 3 months and will not remove the up charge according to the Customer Loyalty department. Moving forward they are giving me a $40.00 discount off my bill for 12 months but not credit for what I've already paid. If you have Direct TV - Read your Bill. I had Direct TV for 2 years during the time it wasn't owned by AT&T. 1AUG17 I switched to COX. Prior to that date I called and asked if I could get better pricing and the foreign accented person said no that's the best we can do. I then said I'm going to look for my other options. I Switched to COX and told Direct TV. I asked if I had a zero balance since it was the beginning of the month and they said yes, I asked if I owed anything and they said no. Then I asked them where do I send or drop off the equipment? They said call this number. I call the number, enter the box serial number, and then it said this is an older box "please dispose of it in a proper fashion". Knowing the value of electrical components, I kept the equipment in my car. A few days later I received a call asking form the retention department wanting my business back. I told them that's weird I was told you couldn't do any thing. She said,"did you ask for the retention department?". I said no and the person from the prior call never gave me that option. So the retention lady said, we can give you a credit for a year of only $50 a month (I was paying $170). She said I will give you 5 days to think about it. I stuck with Cox because of the local representation. Now it's December, I get a call from the retention department saying we want you back, we noticed you quit 27NOV17. You owe us $500 plus the equipment. I obviously said, I quit 1AUG17 and told them what happened. They basically could care less, I told them I still have the components, but told them what they previously said. I shipped the components. I feel like I'm dealing with 2 different companies answering the same number. Not sure what happens next. BUT THIS ISN'T THE OLD DIRECT TV, THIS IS THE OLD AT&T, same old shake down tactics. Had them as a telephone carrier, they bait and switched me and said they would pay my existing bill from Sprint. . . . They never did and that went into collections. They say on their commercial they have amazing customer ratings . . . . but I'm not seeing it on Yelp! 19DEC17 I noticed on the bill there is a local store now. It's a AT&T cell sales office that has to deal with Direct TV now. They don't have access to any of Direct Tv's sales info. The sales rep was very helpful and the store mgr (Alex McGinnis) heard my plight and said he would help. They both called the same numbers I did and hit a few walls as well. The mgr said he would get it resolved. 2 days later I received a credit and apology for what was owed. So what I learned with Direct TV . . . Now is to go to a Cell phone sales office . . . They will do wht it takes to get it resolved to get you out of their store. Don't cave and ask for Alex McGinnis or someone like him. read more

No appogiz Go cable and satellite free. After months of unsatisfied service and having them as subscriber for more than 10 years they tell me I have 13 months to go on my contract. Tried calling DTV to report fraud on my account. Spoke to two different customer service reps who transferred me to the fraud dept. First transfer put me back into the queue for general customer service. Second rep tried again got the automated response which read off my phone number which was so incredibly wrong. Then I get a recording that the fraud dept is now closed. Call back tmrw. Abominable customer service. How do these reps not know the fraud dept is closed and waste my time (:30) transferring me !
