I've had issues with Direct TV for the past two years. I was told in the beginning that I was going to get a one year contract and after I called in they told me it was two year contract. When I moved homes I was not informed that a new service would begin neither by phone or email. Called today to cancel and they told me I still had 5 more months to go when I log in online it says my contract ended. Worst service ever and I would not recommend. They are not communicative with their customers at all. One person tells you one thing and another one tells you another, got to love how none of them are on the same page. read more

I'm only giving them a 1 because I can't give them a half star. I am so sick and tired of the games these companies play. They will say they will promise you anything to get your business. AT&T bought out DIRECTV but the right hand has no idea what the left hand is doing they aren't even connected on the computer my problem was with DIRECTV when I signed on they offered me HBO for life. They offered me the other premium channels for three months for free after three months I canceled and they continued with the HBO but they charged me $17.99. So I called and complained and a supervisor was to get back to me well nobody did. 1/2 brand representative said we can give you HBO for life if you upgrade your AT&T services. I said how much would that be she said $33 a month I said are you out of your mind why would I upgrade to $33 a month so I can get free HBO which is costing me $17.99 and I should be getting it for free she said because I am a loyal AT&T customer I should actually be getting it for $10.99. I said no I should be getting it for free because that's what was promised to me however you did not follow through nobody followed through nobody seems to care your customer service sucks. She said to me there was nothing she could do because she is AT&T and not DIRECTV I said well then why am I talking to you she said because DIRECTV did not know that I had an AT&T account and I told her I was an AT&T customer before it was even AT&T when it was still Cingular one! After 2 1/2 weeks I finally got a hold of somebody from the support team I asked are you a supervisor or a manager she says I am the next best thing and this is as high as it goes and I said and you can't help me so what good are you? Don't get me wrong I do like DIRECTV however they do not have voice remote and they do not have Internet service so I had to fight with different Internet providers but I don't like when somebody promises me something and delivers nothing and even worse charges me for it. On July 3rd local channel KLAS was pulled from our lineup because AT & T (who owns DirecTV) and the company that owns the broadcast rights to CBS could not reach an agreement. WHEN IS THIS GOING TO BE RESOLVED? WHY AREN'T DIRECTV AND AT & T OFFERING ANY COMPENSATION TO THEIR SUBSCRIBERS? The programs broadcast over KLAS are CBS programs -- major broadcasting throughout the United States -- and yet these companies are so cavalier about the people (like me) who put them and keep them in business. I called Tech Support 3 times to ask a question and 3 times I was given an answer that had nothing to do with what I asked. The software is good and programming ok but if you get the dvr - beware! Whenever you try to pause your tv it will jump to AT&T commercials. It does not just stop where you are but turns on AT&T commercials instead. I hate it. You have to push a button to make them go away, but next time you pause, they come right back! read more

Because we are tired of getting raped by the exorbitant amount cable companies (Cox) wants just to watch tv, we've resulted in streaming. We love the concept of it and it's significantly cheaper than basic cable. We're retired and on a fixed income, so we thought we would give this option a whirl. After struggling with this service, I am finally giving up. I'm going to cancel my service. It just doesn't work. I record stuff and it comes up as playback. I can't fast forward through commercials. Other stuff doesn't work either. I press the reverse 15 sec button and it goes back like 5 seconds over and over to the same place. Just nothing works. I can switch to cox and actually save 50 bucks a month and it can't be any worse than this. read more

If I could give DIRECTTV NOW ZERO STARS I WOULD! I signed up for it & on the second day of use all I could get was LOUD STATIC and there is NO customer Service support except to "CHAT" with some one on the other end that uses canned responses such as "thank you for your patience" & "I understand" it's utter B.S.! I "chatted" 2 different people on 2 different days and they BOTH said to uninstall & then reinstall apps on my fire stick because they just came out with a "update" TODAY that will fix the problems I was having, & of course it didn't. Even after only having it for under 36 hours they would not give me a refund even tho "we" couldn't get it to work. Again BS! And the lagging/buffering is TERRIBLE! I watched on one tv at a time with 50mps and it LAGGED (buffering) way too much except during the commercials! And the other suggestion was to reset my entire fire stick to factory setting so I'd have to re download ALL my other apps just in hopes to get dtv now to work ... yea no! To sum up: Chanel's in your line up just disappear & you have to delete dtv now app & reload it on a regular basis. The Chanel's lag... buffer buffer buffer you see LOTS of that blue circle! I've had direct tv for 4 years. The prices were rediculus. They have no problem setting you up and getting a rep to your house. But now that I'm canceling they want no part of me. As long as I pay they're overpriced service it's fine. Now I want to change services & they won't even send someone out to disconnect and pick up boxes. They want us to send everything in in boxes they send. And take some card out of one box. This is unheard of. So glad I'm getting rid of direct tv & they're inflated prices. Don't even think of using direct tv. Service after the fact is unheard of. Stay far away!!! I'm saving half of my money getting rid of direct & going to cox who I alway had my internet thru. There is next to no competition to speak of for TV service providers in Las Vegas. There are several providers but they do not really compete, they collude. I just left Directv because my fees were raised substantially after the first year as per contract. I was charged a $ 238.00 penalty for early disconnection after I was told on a previous call to Directv that I was out of contract. That was an obvious lie. As they make you prepay, I will have my service end on March 5th but was billed until March 21st. The fair thing to do would be to credit me from March 6th through March 21st. Will Directv give me that credit? No, they will not. There isn't much I can do and $ 238.00 isn't going to sink me financially. However, Directv should really tell their customer service people not to try to justify what Directv does to the customer that is being ripped off. I do not verbally abuse customer service people because I ran technical support and customer service departments for various companies and I know what a thankless job it can be. However, not everyone is like me. I believe Directv can use any business practices it sees fit, but since I feel some of those practices are despicable, Directv should instruct their reps not to try to justify the companies actions. That just adds salt to the wound of being treated badly by Directv. read more

Horrible service！Overcharged me and was told 'automatic' renewal of additional NFL package! Call to customer service was told it takes 48-72 hrs for overcharge to be credited back to my credit card. They have no problem auto charging me every month through my credit card!! I'll have to wait 72 hours to manually call in to have my card credited. The second option is for them to credit my Direct TV account. ( I was told...you pay less next month...as if they're giving me a discount)!!! I can't wait for my 2 years contract to be up!! Your going to have to sign up for yourself and learn a lesson like I did. I signed up three times. One time at SAMs, one time with direct over the phone and then over the Internet. Direct tv couldn't stand by their deal once. I rescued two installs because the installer had a different package than what I had ordered. Complete disaster. If you are thinking of bundling forget it. None in the att store knows how that works. They are selling the thing under the impression the price is locked for two years. Poor experience today with the Directv customer service lines. Just trying to upgrade my equipement took over 2 hours on the phone. Hung up on twice and the tech dept that has to put in these orders is the worst to deal with....I got all the way thru my order and then was hung up on by a worker that clearly did not want to help me with what I needed. I have experienced this several times where they just hang up on you if they dont want to deal with your purchase and they know you will call back and be routed to someone else. I've learned no matter who you have for TV, cox, Dish, CenturyLink...you're gonna get screwed & your bill will always be wrong. For me it comes down to how frustrated do I want to be when I call customer service? DirecTV is the least frustrating bc I learned the trick to dealing with them. As is the norm, my bill was (and still is), wrong. I call & can't get anywhere with them. Sometimes I call 2-3 times in a row...you'd think ONE of them would be able to tell me why my bill is wrong & fix it. Nope. So I gave up & filed a complaint with the BBB. It was then, & only then, the mistake was acknowledged & $400 in credits issued. Unfortunately, it was all absorbed on the next months bill. So I'll file another BBB complaint to get it fixed...again. BTW... My bill is supposed to be $75/mo. Every month its over $175. And I don't order movies or PPV. read more

We bundled with with direct tv with the promise of a promo of $114 per month. We had the special channels like hbo, start, etc,... For free to try for the first 3 months. In March we called to cancel the special channels and just stick with the promo they first offered us. Come May's bill we get a notification of $957 charges due . Not only did they lie but the customer service people that we spoke with was rude no matter how polite we were. They did not want to help try to figure out where the communication lines failed. They basically said it was our problem. Now who pays for $957 a month for cable??? Seriously? Direct tv screwed us because of their lack of organization and not all customer service people were rude and abrupt but the last ones we spoke with were. They have the worst costumer service PERIOD!!! We moved and canceled our service. They owe us $351, but refuse to send us our refund. This is after they charged me twice for Sunday ticket. I moved in October 2018 and it's now February 2019, still haven't received my refund. We have called 8 times and now they say it's held as a credit, even though we don't have directv and will never get it again. There isn't any body that has helped us and when we call now, after being placed on hold for 20-30 minutes, it ACCIDENTALLY hangs up on us!!! This company blows!!!! read more

Keep the Direct TV number in your speed dial because you will be calling them a LOT! Also, beware of your bill creeping up after 6 months. Don't let them trick you into online billing unless you keep close track of your bills every month. After about 6 calls in a 2 month period, they insist that there is no problem, but after I insisted that they replace the box, it turned out that the previous installer used the wrong fitting causing bad tv reception. The new installer was shocked that his fellow installer made this mistake, because I am sure they put in their notes that the customer was the problem. Another common excuse I heard from their "customer service (not so much)" is that freezing and pixelling is Normal. Really? Because I wasn't told this when I signed the 2 year contract. We've been on the phone with them for almost an hour and nothing has been resolved. The service is horrible always restarting itself and blacking out. I just changed over after 30 years with Cox. Cox raised my bill by $20 with no notice. The first agent I spoke with at Direct TV read her script so fast that I could not understand a word she said. I asked her twice to please slow down. The third time I attempted to ask her, she talked right over me so I hung up. The next agent spoke clearly enough that I could understand her. What a joke!! I understood that my monthly bill would be $10 less than I was charged. When I called to have this corrected, I was told that I had declined the offer (a total lie) and that nothing could be done to change this. I even spoke with a supervisor, who gave me the same bs. After struggling with Direct tv equipment, bad picture due to weather, bought a $40 doll wireless box so the other rooms are able to see TV, i disconnected the services, alleged when a tech comes to your house they place u on a 2 yr contract because they call it UPGRADE!!!! I was never notified of this.. I took the package with centrilink because it was no contract, i disconnected centrylink last year due to billing problems they pay direct in advance, charge the customer in advance for the following month. we have been with this company for 8 years, they were the best...at one time! AT&T bought DIRECTV and now have ruined it! We signed a 2 year contract with wireless equipment upgrade, the bill each month was 102.00 from 9-9-16 to 9-9-2018. AT&T had rate increases starting 2-2018, and they sent us and email last December stating that "if you are in a contract it will NOT change with the new rates until AFTER your contract expires", I think that is pretty clear! So to our shock our new bill for March has gone up to 113.00? Had to call yesterday to Directv 3-4-18, to fix that bill back to the original contract and had to go through the grueling task and irritation of their POOR customer service reps who couldn't even speak english and they have NO knowledge of what a contract is.... we had to hang up once got the next rep on the phone and he said the new rates will stay on our account, and that evidently we didn't read our contract close enough that DIRECTV can change it any time they like, that is NOT what the contract said or what AT&T sent us! We now asked to escalate it to a supervisor named Christy and she said she would put the contract back in place, and she would also send us confirmation by email and for our inconvenience she gave us a 5.00 credit for 12 months. Not only did we NOT get the email, but she took the generous 5.00 off the CURRENT bill of the 113.00 which brought it to the 104.20...and then charged us a late fee of 4.00 because after 3-4-18 the bill is now late which we wanted to pay yesterday, but the bill was still incorrect due to their own negligence! That is NOT our agreed upon contract amount we locked in at! Pay attention....DIRECTV ARE LIARS, SCAMMERS, AND UNTRUSTWORTHY COMPANY! LEGAL ACTION WILL BE TAKEN! I was quoted a price and told that my bundle of tv and internet could be paid together and told me a price I liked, when I was "transfered" I was hung up on and when I called back I got a whole different price and told completely different terms of the agreement, including having to pay two separate bills. What is the point of bundling if I still have to deal with two companies and pay two separate bills? So, AT&T/DirecTV gave me a price over the website, which waived the $20 activation fee... but the website wouldn't process...so the online chat told me to call, so after an HOUR trying to order on the website, I called and after 30 MORE minutes on the phone with them, I was told I could NOT get the installation fee waived, NOR could they give me any kind of credit toward the installation fee. So I straight up asked them, if they would rather have $20, or NO customer, plus a bad rep posted ALL over the internet and a complaint with the Better Business Bureau... AND GUESS WHAT THEY CHOSE! Worst service ever. If you can go with another company, do it. Super bowl Sunday and we have Service that keeps freezing or completely goes out. Call customer service and they want to charge us 8.99 for equipment repair a month or a one time fee of 100.00 to come out and fix their faulty equipment that we pay to rent. They can't come out until Tuesday. They have also increased our bill by 50.00 a month. After our contract is up we will be going to streaming all our TV needs instead of these crooks. I've had directv for years. They gradually increased their rates. When I moved they ripped me off by charging my credit card stating that I didn't turn in their equipment within 3 wks which in turn it was turned in & received by them in 2 wks. They had documented proof & couldn't explained why I was charged. Plus they made no effort to refund my account immediately. I was always on time with my payments & paid off my balance immediately. The manager, Destiny, acted as if I was making a big deal for no reason & wasn't willing to help me one bit. I even threatened to blast them on social media sites but she didn't care. Dropped them last year, signed back up in January (bad move) and had nothing but issues, was charging me for things I was told I would get for free, weeks going by and they credit me, was paying $80 a month and then all of a sudden it jumps to $177!!! For what!!!! Tried calling them but can never get through!!! I'm done, worst experience I had with them since 04, prior to this clusterfuck loved them, screw that I'm canceling and going with cable. Saturday May 12 2018 7am - Jean Marc - RUDE INCOMPETEN. I called direct TV 1 (800) 531-5000 to get a store location here in town so I can return the équipement. We disconnected about 10 days ago and didn't want to charge us the rental of the équipement since they didn't send us a box to return it. I called to get a simple info ... where can I find a direct TV location so I can drop off the remotes and stuff. Easy call right? Nope the guy refuses to give me the simple info without getting account # , name, phone, address etc I guess he was reading his script of politeness which pissed me off at 7am, a 2mns call just to tell me you have direct TV location here and here needed up being an argument call for 7mns before that agent put me on hold and never got back to me. I told him "my call is simple can you provide me with direct TV address so I can drop my stuff, no need to read your script, it's 7am and I want this to be quick" Well Direct TV that is why we disconnected you! How hard was to satisfy my request??? I am still searching for a location on google :/ Bad customer service!!! Training is the key!!! Stay as far away from this company as possible. They are especially incentive to senior and disabled citizens. They came to my parents home in Las Vegas to upgrade their 2 cable boxes and in doing so, mixed-up their two controls. My parents are 88 years old, one has macular degeneration and the other early dementia. We - their kids - are in LA and not able to help. Regardless of the fact that Direct TV caused the problem, they refused to come out and help. Their response was "Our policy does not allow for us to come out to reprogram" and "they should be able to do it themselves." When I continued to insist that this was an in humane way to treat seniors and ask for a second supervisor, they said there was no one else to talk to and hung up on me. Shame on Direct TV. AT&T & Directv are all fucked up now!!! 2 appointments that I have and had(1 yesterday & 1 today 12-4) I was told I didn't have but did and can't get a simple fucking genie box for my other room that is in my package!!!!
