DCM came to our rescue literally at the last minute when a major mover ( Schick via Allied ) cancelled us literally 30 hours prior to our scheduled move date which we had scheduled 3 weeks in advance. Steve Niedziela, the owner of DCM responded immediately to our initial call and was at our house within the hour. He was extraordinarily detailed, professional, timely and efficient. He creatively worked through the logistics of our move, provided a competitive price and subsequently followed through with very much appreciated commitments to schedules, movers and stayed in touch with us throughout the move. As for the actual drivers/movers...what a special group ( Daniel, Mike, Gustavo and Jeremy ) were the "dream team". One star is too generous for Steve and his company. I debated whether to take legal action against him after my experience. He provided horrible service and conned me out of $250. I've used his services twice over a four-year period. The first time was ok although he is lazy, slow, and talks too much. He did not treat his employees well and they had nothing good to say about him. He destroyed property in my new neighborhood association because he didn't follow my instructions or the signs at the gated entry. He entered the premises illegally because he decided to take lunch in the middle of the move while I was waiting for him to get him through the gated entry. The incident was on camera and witnessed by the security patrol and he still had the nerve to deny it. I paid the fine and the replacement cost of the damaged property, assuming he would do the respectable thing and adjust my bill or compensate me. He refused, even after I sent multiple certified letters that he, his wife, and his company ignored. He is unscrupulous, irresponsible, and dishonest. The web site states that time starts when the first item is wrapped he him self was caught in traffic he got to my storage at 9am I got there at 10am. Steve text me an said I love it when my guys get paid for doing nothing. Do not use these guys. When I called I had received 6 different quotes--all within $10 of each other. I disclosed this to him. This guy LOVES to hear himself talk for over 20 minutes telling me the law, documents to be provided, how good they are, how cheap they are, etc. Once I told him I was a Real Estate Broker and Law Student looking to relocate he told me he wasn't interested in my move. I asked him why. He goes into a another 5 minute diatribe not willing to listen, but to be heard. NOW THAT'S EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE IF I'VE SEEN IT! Pass on this guy. He loves the sound of his voice rather than the sound of "Cha-Ching" when the move is complete. I feel sorry for his movers. They may NOT be getting work because this guy wants to pretend he is a legal expert rather than a salesperson who can back up what he says. Once he knew he wasn't dealing with an idiot, he passed on the job. I feel sorry that he HAS a job, and MORE sorry those who depend on his salesmanship don't have a job to do this weekend... Wow! Dirt Cheap Movers has been the best experience with professional movers I have ever had. Steve was fantastic and honest from day one and a pleasure to do . I didn't think they could do it because the other movers couldn't. They proved me wrong. They even placed them exactly where I wanted them. I also have very heavy fragile boxes. They wrapped all my furniture better than any other movers I have used in the past. Not one item was scratch, dented, or broken. Not even scratch on the freshly painted doors ways. Michael and Jeremy moved everything efficiently and carefully. Dirt Cheap Movers my be inexpensive but you get more than you pay for in my opinion. Everything was going so well and exactly as Steve said it would I thought it was too good to be true. The only hidden surprise was the excellent customer service. This is the worst moving company EVER!!!! I literally waited around all day playing telephone tag with STEVE... the initial time of move was NOON... NOON turned into 7pm... 7pm turned into 9 pm... Review from my dad... My wife and I needed to locate a mover to take a Curio cabinet from our home in Brea, CA to our daughter's home in Corona, CA, a one way trip of 23 miles! We found Dirt Cheap Mover in Corona who came to our home, where they wrapped it in padded moving blankets tied with heavy straps! This was placed upright it a large opened towed trailer! They followed us to our daughter's home, brought it into the house, unwrapped, and set it in place, where I later fasten it to the wall! The bill turned out to be much less than originally quoted! Moved a piano for me and it was quick and painless. As simple as the move should be and they even give you discounts if you want to help with the folding of blankets and laying blankets out. They were over 20% lower cost than all the competition to move a piano and they were very responsive to messages. read more

Let me tell you a little story. Me as the younger girl, I was trying to find an affordable set of movers for my family. So as I looked online (at the reviews the manager threatened but I didn't know at the time) this seemed like a great option. HA, jokes on me right? The original set movers werent there so Steve , the hypocritical manager was cool at first, seeming to help. And having all of my friends help and try their best (keep in mind, my friends and family ARENT trained as movers) so we could get money taken off the final quota. (Which wasn't actually a thing because he changed saying we couldn't have the discount) Because he said if they help wrap blankets and rubber bands, we will be good. So plans changed to make the move easier they wanted the rubber bands 3x3 so me and my friend went around fixing them. So for some odd reason, Steve was downstairs and came upstairs to supervise and I had just gotten into the room with my friend to fix and I said "Sorry sir, we're just making these 3 by 3." and WAIT FOR THIS. He literally got so mad I called him sir, saying he's not old. But honey, you're 53 don't get mad at me for being respectful. You didn't deserve my respect. And then I told him we just got into to fix them when he was trying to rule us around, and he said "stop making excuses and do your work." BUDDY, BUUUU-DDDDY I do NOT work for you, nor would I EVER. I got you this business and money because I thought you were affordable and beneficial. So he leaves and then makes a big deal to my friends mom that another thing that had been wrapped was 'horrible' and we were 'wasting' his time. WTFF he's getting paid by the freakin hour. This is the worst part, he started unblanketing furniture to waste time $$ and he was busy unblanketing that honestly his one worker and the rest of my friends and family were working. He quoted my dad 2 hours at the beginning and at the end it took about 4 and a half and he lied saying to my dad he never said that like stfu Steve. And he took his lunch in the middle creating twice the time. He treated everyone lower then him because he's the below average looking , white - male. So just keep in mind, if you want to keep your sanity while during a hectic move the last thing you want is to hire him. (one star is being so generous) read more

I was able to speak with Steve the owner from the start. He kept me in the loop without request the entire time. Absolutely the best customer service I have ever received from any company of any kind. JD and Ignacio have true work ethic and sense of urgency. They MOVE WITH A PURPOSE!!! They moved packed and loaded a 28.5' truck to storage in less than 8hrs. This was from a 3 story 2300sqft home in crestline in the mountains all the way down to storage in San Bernardino!!! The only break they took was while they were driving the truck to the storage unit. They literally never stopped moving not once!!! JD is an ocd Tetris master who can stack and pack like no other and he truly cares about the safety of your valuables. He was more determined to keep my things safe than I was!!! He answered my text questions within minutes, (and there were many), completed the Work Order for me and kept me informed every step of the way. We utilized 2 movers and Steve blocked out 4 hours of time (based on our needs). He notified us the night before with the Foreman's name and phone number. I wanted to be sure and post my experiences for other readers to consider. We hired Dirt Cheap Mover for a local move a week ago. From the very first contact with Dirt Cheap Mover, the owner (Steve) was professional, very knowledgeable, courteous and really put my family at ease and comfortable. In the age of internet predators and scam artists abound, l did my homework before hiring DCM. Ironically, I was checking the license of a mover who gave me a quote which seemed too good to be true on the State of CA website. After learning from the State of CA website that the mover I was researching license was revoked and they were conducting business illegally, from that website I was able to search for movers in my local area. That is where I learned of Dirt Cheap Mover. I was looking for a locally owned business to hire for our move. I was so happy to find DCM. My fear in hiring a mover was, as they all were per the hour, that they would purposely work at a slower pace in order to increase profits. Who wouldn't, right? Dirt Cheap Mover offers a Not To Exceed price. Regardless of how long it takes, they charge by the item. This proved to be the best case scenario for our move. Dirt Cheap Mover also has state of the art internet client integration software where I was able to add/delete items and furniture and provide a new Not to Exceed price right up to the move date. This is a great service to the consumer. To always know what my move cost would be. No surprises, no hidden costs! DCM arrived on time and eager to get us moved. Within a few hours, all of our furniture was meticulously wrapped in blankets, loaded into the truck for a 45 min drive down the interstate. Steve and his crew worked hard and had all of our furniture placed and assembled in a very efficient manner. DCM provided excellent service from start to finish. I just moved over the weekend on Saturday 02/21/2015 - I will not emphasis anymore that how unprofessional this guy is - his company should be shut down as it was the worst move for me ever. The owner is Steve is so unprofessional that he lacks the way to talk to people. First of all he comes late, my appointment time was 1pm and he shows up at 3pm - no apology for getting late and then he tells that I was the 2nd move of the day and thus he does not guarantee on time arrival ..... and starts showing me off his webpage where all his rules are ..... After that he gets in to my house so aggressive and starts asking me what stuff needs to be blanket wrap and what stuff needs to be moved - I started pointing at all the boxes in the house + furniture, and he says oh this is a lot more stuff you have asked earlier - and I was like are you kidding me am I suppose to count the number of boxes before the move day? This guy is a cheat - he talks about a great blanket wrapping program where you can bring three friends and you can help him with blanket wrapping and in exchange to this he gives a discount - however he won't mention that discount is not on hourly basis until it's time when you actually look for it in the final bill. I have clearly mentioned my main furniture to him and all he comes up is with just ONE helper to move this big furniture while he is busy disassembling the furniture - basically adding more hours to a small move. So he comes late - he comes with 1 person to help you move, he cheats you and make your friends work to pick all the stuff as he is late and you need the move to be done before it gets dark and in the end he does not even give you a discount as we practically did all the move. And then when I mentioned about that great discount you have been mentioning to me while quoting me hourly rate - he says that you get only under flat rate quote and trust me I heard this first time from his mouth. I paid him the money for his unprofessional attitude and when I mentioned that you just wait for my review on YELP, he threatened me by saying "Oh you know who I know, I have lots of contact at Immigration Office - you on H1B, right?" i'm finally ready (after a few months) to write this review. i've been so livid at steve niedziela, the i-won't-shut-the-heck-up-because-i-just-can't-get-enough-of-my-own-self owner, that i haven't been able to write this without an abundance of words i don't say in everyday conversation. we met steve-the-non-stop-cr@@-talker when someone else sent him to check out moving something from my house to another person's house that they were going to purchase. it was a very large and involved piece of furniture. he ended up not moving it, though told us about his company (we were moving a couple of months later) so we looked him up and (including the gargantuan piece of furniture) he gave us a price. we agreed to the price, though ended up selling the piece of furniture (which made up about 1/3 of the total move price) and then agreed with him to pay the entire fee anyway with the understanding that he would use the remaining 1/3 for the tips for his movers. he unequivocally agreed, though, as other reviewer's will attest, he was bold-faced lying. he then proceeded to call, email and text us a total of 9 times prior to the move to "make sure" i was going to move. of course i was! (see? he can't hear enough of himself) we agreed on a date and 8 am time. ANOTHER person (the foreman for our move) called AGAIN the night before to confirm. yes, and we're getting irritated with the confirmations. the foreman said he was sorry and that he'd heard that more than a few times before. the next day (move day) no one showed up. we finally got a text at 845 from the foreman saying something about the truck they were going to use being stolen. at 1030 steve texted saying something asinine blaming penske for the mix up. he then CALLED and asked if i'd gotten the text and demanded that i read it out loud to him, like i was in kindergarten. the guy has ZERO respect for anyone, but we had no choice at this point. it was the end of the month and someone else was moving in the next day. the guys (minus steve, thankfully, as even my super patient husband was getting angry at him) finally showed up after noon and were fabulous, though at the end of the move, i pulled the foreman aside and ask if he knew of the deal with steve that they would be getting 1/3 of the price in tip. the foreman looked shocked and said no, so i called steve and asked him what was going on. he said it was an "oops" and he would resend the contract with the "corrected" lower price (original prices minus 1/3) asap via email to the foreman and agreed that the difference i could pay in cash to the workers. we got exact change and paid steve's portion, then split the remaining 1/3 amongst the workers because we knew something was fishy and they wouldn't see it if we paid it in full to steve. they left. steve then called me and demanded that i send ALL of the money directly to HIM for "tax purposes." i reminded "mister honesty" that it was all in cash, as he wished (specifically i'm sure to AVOID taxes) and that i knew he wasn't going to claim it. what was the point of sending it to him? so he could take a picture of it and send that to the irs? i don't think so. he even sent his guys back to our house to talk on speakerphone because he told them he didn't make that agreement with us and said the workers were lying! HE was the one lying. his objective was to keep all of the cash himself and stiff his workers. after the phone call, the workers admitted that steve had stiffed several other workers in the company on multiple occasions before! i would NEVER deal with this guy again and will do whatever i can to make sure everyone knows that he's an absolute sheister. bottom line - he lies, he cheats and he steals from the people he hires to make him look good. they do make him look like a legit business, so i hope they find work elsewhere. i couldn't imagine working for or being around this "business man" btw he's also a licensed notary, so beware; notaries are supposed to be honest to the core - this guy isn't. read more

I have used Dirt Cheap service for a few years only cause My furniture has never got damaged so I dealt with his rudeness pushiness and un professional social skills., but I can tell you this will be the last , my day was positive until he arrived and made the remaining of my not so positive. He makes my move more stressful then what it is all ready .. Asked me how many movers I needed by text I said probably one umm he always comes with one from all my other moves this time he came by himself and I had to ask someone to help with my couch.. He's rude unprofessional gives me anxiety , and then will tell you oh you told me one mover umm your other guy doesn't drive and you have always had another guy help you ... told him I have a couch umm you gonna carry that by yourself im not breaking my back... Can't believe he actually wanted me to help...Then said he knew how to get to my new place and didn't want to follow me then he is lost for 10 mins...telling me take a screenshot on my phone from where I am at instead of him telling me where he was so I can go there and have him follow me..smh! Ask him a a question last night about wardrobe bags and then rudely said arriving at 8am be ready...like do you think I'm not !
