The night before my move the owner came to do a walk through and reassured me they are very punctual and pack things perfectly. Then I got a call about 12 hours before my move that they were cancelling because my move exceeds their capabilities. My renters insurance, energy bill and lease had already been cancelled. They send a gps link on the day of moving so you don't have to worry about where your driver is. Dirt Cheap Movers are awesome. Steve, the owner, visited our house twice to do a proper assessment of our moving needs. He really focuses on what your major need is, not what is best for his company. We originally had his crew scheduled to move our belongings to Shasta and our focus was on cost. A couple weeks before the move, plans changed and we needed our items stored for a couple weeks during the move. Steve recommended using Ubox or Pods, his guys would pack the containers and we needed to find movers up north to unpack - this was the most affordable and reduced the amount of handling my stuff. I have used Dirt Cheap Mover many times over the past decade. Each time, I have been pleased with the outcome. Steve and his crew carefully wrap the furniture. I had a large armoire which was challenging to move. They got it down an elevator and up a few steps at the new location. They ask ahead of time where we want the boxes and furniture moved to. The Dirt Cheap team showed up right on time. They had nice, clean, well maintained equipment. The guys were very friendly and engaging, they went right to work surveying the location of the furniture in the house, the materials needed for protecting and moving the items and the best course of moving the items out of the house. The items were scattered in different rooms. They knew exactly what to do, furniture was wrapped with new and clean blankets and encased in wrap tape thoroughly and quickly. Watching the guys move some of the very large and heavy pecan wood items was amazing. It was like they could read each other's minds. In continual smooth motion all the furniture was moved out and into the truck and trailer and strapped down within 25-30 min. Off we went to the delivery location. I feel very compelled to share with everyone the positive experience I had today with Dirt Cheap Movers. First, they respond to phone calls in a timely manner and are so kind on the phone. You can tell they had my best interest at heart. I was in a bind and didn't give them much notice yet they took care of me. The movers were thorough in their procedures for moving valuables, efficient in regards to time, not one item was broken or dented as they were very careful and finally, they were patient and tolerant when it came to setting up my furniture in various rooms. I would hire them again in a second. This was my fourth time using them and honestly, would never ask for anyone else. I also looked at some other people's review and felt they clearly have an ax to grind. First, my 5 star review is not fake. Second, the owner was very accommodating. Communication works both ways. Asked for a morning move but was told they had another job and that we would start at 2pm. They then called us at 8pm the night before and said they would be there at 10am. Was then told they never even had another job in the morning by the crew once they arrived. One of the gentlemen worked super hard while the other stayed in the truck and took breaks to smoke cigarettes. Was not impressed and my husband had to do a lot of the moving as well. On Saturday, August 6, 2022, Dirt Cheap Mover arrived at my home on time, 0700 hours. They did not waste any time. The looked at all the boxes with packed items in each of the rooms to form their plan of action, constantly communicating with me. Within an hour, they had packed all the heavy objects (refrigerator, king sized bed, queen sized bed and heavy adjustable frame). They were polite and "cool", didn't stop until the truck was filled up. They loaded the truck from top to bottom and we definitely got our money's worth. They arrived at my home after a well deserved lunch break and unloaded all my items. Thy handled the boxes labeled "Fragile" with care. We DID NOT find any damaged items as a result of the move. The movers were down an employee and our bill was readjusted, giving us a better deal. We saved money. We tipped the movers for their fast, efficient and hard work. My wife was in constant communication with a manager that coordinated the move with my wife and was extremely professional. I highly recommend this company.
