I genuinely love this place. Perfect dive bar for everyone in Raytown. Prices are super cheap and the quality is amazing! The food is some of the best bar food I've had since moving to KC area. We happened upon this place as we were traveling. I believe it's considered a dive bar, 3 pool tables, very clean. The food was Amazing, we got the fried fungi, sliced up portobello mushrooms, they are marinated for 24 hours and hand breaded, holy cow, YUM!!! My coworkers from the Royals decide to go for a cocktail after work on Saturday. One of the coworkers found dirty bird and said hey let's try this place. Incredible restaurant with a bar as a front! Honestly the food was Great at this little hidden strip mall Gem. On numerous visits the food was the star (tho Katie really shined as the waitress.) All the appetizers are wonderful and we've gotten different sandwich each time and pronounced them all GREAT! I did not have the wings, but it seems to be there thing. My son did and said they are some of the best he has ever had. Drinks are nice and tasty and well made (again, thanks to Katie!) I ask and got to meet the Kitchen Manager, Ken. He runs a tight ship and the food is consistently above par. Different visits yield the same results and that is hard to beat nowadays. Give it a try (and ignore the one fake bad review). Alright, listen up. This place has pretty damn good food. However, you might die from starvation before the servers ever notice you or even ask if you want anything to drink. We sat in there for 20 min and not a single "hey I'll be right with you!" Or even a "give me one second!" .. they would walk right past our table multiple times and say nothing and avoid eye contact the vibes are good but after you've been waiting 20 minutes for someone to even acknowledge you, it can really piss you off. Overall, I would not recommend this place unless you enjoy getting ignored. As a customer you shouldn't have to deal with this type of bull shit. As for Dirty Birds, if you're looking for solid to superior bar food, a casual drink and a game of pool in a neighborhood setting this place delivers. I've had everything from the pretzels (fantastic) to the patty melt (very good) to the wings (kinda wish they served traditional flats and drums) and overall am consistently pleased. They have mixed vegetables as a side option (small upcharge) that are shockingly good and next to impossible to find in a typical bar setting. Cocktails are always on point though admittedly I stick to the basics (vodka tonic etc). Perhaps the scene is different in the wee hours but I've been here as late as 8 and not gotten anything besides warm, courteous service. I don't hold them responsible for the occasional rowdy barfly in attendance. Nothing I've seen here is anything an adult can't handle. I saw people wearing red and blue T's. In fact, those are still the official colors for existing gang members. My Asian friend was wearing one of the funeral colors in my opinion lol. If they were to nitpick, they might as well nitpick on the colors of the rainbow. I was given the bill, then the girl disappeared while I was taking the card out of my wallet. I sat on that stool, at the bar, for 17 minutes just waiting to pay. The reviews about this place are all pretty accurate. Everything is pretty subpar and they always seem to be understaffed. Upon walking in, there aren't a whole lot of seat options. I always seem to get stuck by the cigarette section. Sometimes the wait can be pretty long and almost every time our server will ask if we have already been helped.
