I genuinely love this place. Perfect dive bar for everyone in Raytown. Prices are super cheap and the quality is amazing! The food is some of the best bar food I've had since moving to KC area. The drinks are strong and cheap. There's a few pool tables and darts that can be played as well. Lots of TVs around the bar area. Some downfalls I do see in this place however is that the service can be slow, the music can be too loud, and possibly some cleaning up around the inside i.e. bathrooms.

The Dirty Bird Bar & Grill would be what I call a hole in the wall (the best kind of place)! The food was amazing like we cannot stop talking about it. The menu is full of many different choices and in my opinion it has something for whatever you're in the mood for. The atmosphere is bar like with dart board and pool tables. The seating is mostly high tops with some tables. The service is not the best but there was only one waitress for the bar and tables. But seriously you have to try this at least once for the food because it is outstanding!

Lemon pepper dry rub wings and ranch. No celery?

I was introduced to this place as "the place to be" before a Chiefs game. Very cool dive bar vibe with the pool tables and darts. The staff is wonderful as well as patrons. Someone noticed I was setting up the pool table asked if need someone to play with (was teaching my son how to play pools). I politely declined. Started off with the lemon pepper dry rub wings. I'm sorry but it was not good. The wings were so dry it was almost like biting into jerky. I also got the Highnooner burger. It was cooked to perfection with a hint of bbq sauce. For a place named after chicken should change it to cow. I am curious on the other wing sauces but I don't think I would order wings there. If you want a great burger and beer this is the spot.

    Undercooked slimy bird!!!

Horrible experience wings were extremely under cooked. I informed bartender who's is the owners wife and she only offered to put wings in oven... which I don't think would be sanitary especially with Covid spreading like a wild also I would think an establishment would remake the food as it is undercooked it should be thrown in the TRASH! I will not return!

Service - so this was the first point of failure. Our waitress was attentive, but very loud. Additionally, she kept saying "perfect" to every response we had. Even the negative ones. I can't blame her, but some coaching is needed. Too many of our interactions were of the "hit and run" variety. She's programmed for certain questions and follow up, but doesn't really process the responses. Continuing on with the service, there were two of us, both ordering from the restaurant week menu. Well, one entree comes, not the app, nor the 2nd entree. This was delivered by what I assume was a manager (how he was dressed). No questioning about why he'd deliver one entree to a table with 2 people, so I had to ask about the rest and he was walking away. Again, a "hit and run" interaction. We did eventually get the app and other entree. Food - so we got the salmon dip app, two of the meatloaf burgers and the beignets dessert. The salmon dip was ok. Not especially flavorful, but not terrible. The pita with it was not good. It was overcooked as greasy tasting so it distracted from the dip. The burgers were mixed. I liked mine. It was flavorful, and juicy. My partner did not like hers. I chalk this up to personal preference, so would give this 4 stars on its own. The beignets. Wow, these were, in a word, awful. First, they were not as described as there was supposed to be some sort of fruit dip with it and it was missing. What we got was greasy blobs of cooked dough. These heavy, flavorless things were nothing like actual beignets. They were drizzled with this cheap chocolate syrup and this white, maybe vanilla stuff. This was a miss all around by this location. Hopefully a one off, but they've been around long enough that these issues should happen.

Visited early on a Saturday, before the dinner rush, and without reservations, and we picked this place because of some positive Yelp reviews. So glad that we did. Casual attire is okay, and the interior has a great vibe overall. Kind greeter! Lauren was our server, and she was superb, guiding us through their menu and offering elite suggestions with a pleasant tone throughout. Lauren is an All-Star. Our house salad appetizer was really good, and then the amazing level surged to the table. My Salmon dish was magnificent, so flavorful and incredibly well-presented. Perfectly placed on a bed of succulent wild rice and topped with delicious vegetables. It was one of the tastiest dishes that I can remember. Finished by splitting their banana cream pie, which was so good. All in. Loved it. We will come to KC again in the Spring, and we will absolutely visit Rye Plaza again after this visit.

This one, not so much. We made a reservation and then got a phone call 12 minutes before to make sure we were coming still. We were actually parking at the time. When we walked in, there was no wait and we're seated right away. It took a minute for our waitstaff to come over and then we saw why. She was all over the restaurant. They were clearly short staffed. Felt bad for her. She came over, apologized, and took our drink orders. The adults had coffee and the younger ones had water and lemonade. Our coffee was warm. Not hot, just warm. We ordered the cinnamon roll and the goat cheese sampler. Boith were tasty. For our meals, I ordered the Rye Breakfast with over medium eggs. For those that don't know, over medium is a fine line between runny yolk and cooked all the way yolk. My eggs were basically over easy. Check the picture. It was yolk all through the plate. My gravy was cold and the biscuit was hard as a rock. The only thing I ate was the bacon from my meal. My hash brown tasted like oil and was hard and cold. My kids didn't like their pancakes. The oldest said it was too doughy and was cold. I also asked for no oranges on top but, they both had oranges. The youngest one just didn't eat it at all after one bite. Hubs meal was also cold. Again, our waitstaff was doing the best she could being they were so short on staff. We won't be back though.

The restaurant was…read morepretty busy when we arrived, so we chose to sit at the bar rather than wait for a table near the entrance. We started with the Mini Cheddar Biscuits to share, which come with four biscuits. They were excellent--fluffy on the inside with a slightly crispy exterior. The cheddar flavor hit first, followed by a touch of sweetness from the honey, and the combination worked really well. For my meal, I ordered the Fried Chicken, substituted the mashed potatoes for mac and cheese, and added a side of collard greens. The fried chicken was absolutely amazing, perfectly seasoned and fried. The mac and cheese was rich, creamy, and cheesy with a nice crunch from the breadcrumb topping. The collard greens were some of the best I've ever had. They had a great smoky flavor and were well-seasoned without being overly salty. The only downside to the experience was the service toward the end of our meal. We sat for around 15 minutes waiting for the bartender to come by so we could get drink refills and the check. We eventually had to wave them down, even though they were working right in front of us. Overall, the food was outstanding and easily made up for the minor service issue. I'll definitely be returning to try more of the menu.

We parked a block south on 51st Street and walked into the restaurant at 540pm on a Thursday. I ordered half the happy hour menu and my friend ordered a bottle of Moscato and the Ribeye. He smiled and said half price wine! Our server was attentive, but he ordered the food all together instead of coursing it out. I should have asked for half of mine to come out early as we were sharing. The tacos were ok, good flavor, but basic presentation. The Fries were delicious, the Brussels and Cauliflower were awesome. The Hawaiian Ribeye was also good, cooked perfectly, good flavor, but the chilled cucumber salad on a warm plate was an interesting choice... We were off to a show, so we didn't have time for dessert.
