We were craving a sweet treat after having a delicious meal at Truly and saw this little spot. While it doesn't have too many reviews overall, but high rating, we decided to stop by. Unfortunately, we were met with many of their cookies sold out. The GF ended up getting the regular chocolate chip cookie and I opted for their Double Trouble shake as it sounded good. The chocolate chip cookie was nothing special. It was "doughy," hence the store name, but definitely not to our liking. I mean it wasn't bad, it was a chocolate chip cookie nonetheless, but not worth getting again. I'm not sure what the hype is about the cookie being doughy. It's literally just a semi baked cookie, which honestly isn't that pleasant. The Double Trouble was just not good at all and I don't think it was even made properly. It was straight up just a cookie, some ice, and milk blended. There was no ice cream at all. It was straight liquid drink. The place is cute, and quaint, but that's all it has going for it. I came here on a weekday just after opening. The fellow working here was really nice and was helpful in explaining various offerings and giving recommendations. They have cookies with fillings! And also some shakes and "dirty drinks" (flavored sodas). They have classic cookie options on the menu all the time and several cookie types that rotate weekly. I purchased two cookies and a drink. They have a couple tables inside but I decided to take the cookies home and enjoy the drink on the road. The two cookies I chose were the chocolate chip and the cookies & cream plus the Coco-Loco as my drink. The Coco-Loco is best described as a coconut Coke. It was fantastic, way better than I expected. I appreciated the finely ground ice in the bottom portion of the cup. My pet peeve is when places fill the cup to the top with ice and your drink is gone in three sips but here they provide just enough to keep it cold and refreshing. The cookies are presented in their own box and are large. They are soft cookies but ever-so-slightly crisp on the outside with soft fillings. The chocolate chip cookie had a filling that was essentially chocolate chip cookie dough. It was incredibly delicious and I would definitely get this one again. The cookies & cream had what tasted like Oreo frosting inside and was very good. It was a bit messier as it has crumbles on top and also the weight of the filling caused the soft cookie to fall apart, which one must be conscious of when eating these cookies. It's actually easier to eat when it's in a few pieces. Being a cookie-lover, I find what they have here to be better than what you get at other well-known cookie stores. read more

Cute dessert spot within walking distance to Dana Points downtown area. I was at first confused by the menu because it was very slowly changing, but the worker was super friendly and explained which was a new item and which were permanent flavors. They had a fun and festive Mardi Gras cookie which was filled with frosting. It was pretty sweet but very fresh. I'm interested in trying one of their dirty sodas. Was excited to try this place the stuffed chocolate chip cookie was ok . Not too sweet and I liked the crispy edges. The all sweet no savory peanut butter cookie was also ok. Finally tried Dana Point's not so dirty little secret Dirty Dough, for the Peanut Butter Indulgence cookie, appropriately named, as it was indulgent, a plus for butter and chocolate lovers like me! I also finally succumbed to my curiosity about a "Dirty Soda" and tried the Coco Loco (which happens to be one of my daughter Chloe's nicknames ). I must admit the concept had me dubious and a bit reluctant, but it was good and not sickeningly sweet as expected, though I would still rather spend my calories trying a "Dirty Shake" next time! Someone's review said the cookie inside was too dough-y and raw, which enticed me to come here LOL. love a good dough/raw internal. when you order they pull the cookie out of the racks, then put the cream or any toppings on top, so you get the "freshest" cookie possible which I love!! I will say the inside w the extra sugar and then topped w the cream is good but IS super heavy- it's delicious but not something i'd repeatedly eat which I can do with ice cream or other less 150% sugar items. either way, was delicious! read more

I got to try a few of these at an event, and they were all very tasty. The only issue is they were 99% raw dough in the middle. I'm all for cookie dough, but only if I feel like eating raw cookie dough. Otherwise cookies are huge and the flavors are fun. I took the red velvet home and re-cooked it, and it was very tasty. If you've been watching the Mormon Wives on Hulu, you'll know what a dirty soda is. Dirty Dough is so far the only spot I know in south OC that makes dirty sodas, and I love it! It's such a creative idea that makes for a great treat once in a while. I got the Caribbean crush which is a pina colada-like soda, and it was soooo good! It was tart and sweet. I also got one of their chunky cookies, I wanna say it was one of their fruity cheesecake ones. It was actually so massive, and it felt like I was eating a cheesecake cookie. The shop itself is a a nice size. They have a large table on the side where you can eat your treats at, or some outdoor tables to hang at. You can find parking on the street or parking in the structure. The worker that helped us was super friendly, and we probably only waited like 5-10 minutes for our items. read more

These are amazing cookies. We got a four pack: chocolate chip (100/10) - not too sweet and the perfect combo of crispy on the outside and ooey gooey on the inside; the brookie (10/10) - chocolate and caramel decadence; rocky road 10/10) - if ice cream was a cookie, this is the one; and the inside out (10/10) - chocolate and so much peanut butter. Decided to drive down after dinner tonight and give Dirty Dough a try. So glad we did! First off may I just say how impressed we were with the young staff members working tonight - we'd come back just for them!! So friendly and so helpful with placing our order. Cute little shop in the newly renovated center of Dana Point - great location, surrounded by lots of trendy restaurants and just a few minutes drive from the beach. I loved how bright and clean it was! The shake was a hit with my son who is training for an Ironman - after burning 4100 calories today, the shake helped top him off. My daughter loved the dirty bowl and I was glad to share a cookie with my husband. It was delicious but too calorie laden for me to want a whole cookie to myself. The cookies are truly incredible. Each one is freshly baked, with a gooey texture that makes them melt beautifully in your mouth. You can taste the quality of the ingredients used. The service at the shop was outstanding; the staff was friendly and attentive, making the whole experience enjoyable. Went here on a Saturday around 6pm on 4/27/2025 and I couldn't figure out the cookies. First, the choc chip cookie had a nice crisp outer layer but had raw cookie dough in the middle for most of the cookie. I got a stomach ache from this and had gooey fingers. Quite messy and very sweet. Not my cup of tea. I would have preferred a thick, cooked cookie. We got the 4some pack and the others were similar. Good flavor just very hard to eat . The kids, wife and I didn't finish any of the cookies. You'll need a fork/spoon to eat this without dropping it all over yourself. It reminded me a little bit of a pazookie from BJs (without the ice cream of course). 2. My husband got the wedding cake cookie. It was our first time, so we had a few questions. We tried two Dirty Sodas: the Caribbean Crush and the Butter Beer. Both were unique. The Caribbean Crush was light, refreshing, and a hit with the whole family. The Butter Beer wasn't quite Dad's usual flavor, but he still really enjoyed it. Great experience all around. Mmmmm. Yum. Very tasty, big thicc yummy warm cookies. Rolled in around 9:55 PM on a Friday night after dinner and good times in the Latern District. Didn't want desert at the restaurant and it wasn't ice cream weather. Being a cooler night the Fall breeze wafted the warm scent sent of fresh baked cookies. I was magically transported to a far away land with kind faces. Time seemed to slow like the dough of rising cookies. Hints of cinnamon, chocolate and carmel warmed my gooey center. 6 of us ordered cookies and 8 thought the were great. I'm no mathmagician but the numbers add up. I think a buy 4 cookies get one free is a great promotion to the owner reading this now..who is hopefully now stoked they have a 5 star review as good as this one. If this review isn't posted somewhere in the shop I will be shocked. I will say that even the next day as I write this with my cup of coffee the anticipation is real. Leftover AM reheat--try it. Yum.
