My co worker and I went after work yesterday, December 19th after a horrible experience at hey love. Upon arrival we noticed that it wasn't as full however, within like 15 minutes, it got full. But that did not deter the bartender she killed it! She and I sat at the bar and although it took her a minute to get to us AND she was very responsive, kind, and made bomb drinks. The food was absolutely delicious. We had egg rolls and fries. AND Would come back just to get drinks from her and to support a local small bar! The owner chatted with us for a while. He was super legit with a great perspective on community building. He was also willing to be supportive of his staff and gave them space if they said no. Would totally be back here again soon ! I give an A+ for the customer service here! They're so sweet and they are hospitality doesn't go unnoticed. I love that they serve food pairings with their drinks and the patio is open. However, they told me that they are going to have a covering over it so that it's year-round so when it rains people can still hang out there. Chill vibe and great spirits. A lot of choices for specialty cocktails. The spirited away (Gin and sake) drink is like lemonade and goes down smooth. We picked the edamame from the small plate menu, which is roasted and delicious. The jojos packed a subtle kick that was great. A Smear of sauce similar to a yum yum sauce served. A really cool/trendy cocktail bar within walking distance of the convention center. I tried two cocktails the Pho wash one and the Capricorn. The pho wash cocktail which the name escapes me was DELIGHTFUL. A true 10/10 and honestly I could see myself bathing in it at some point it was that good. Surprising flavor combos, pretty floral garnishes, and dino slushies -- all on a super cute little patio (with table service! Even outside!) that they've done a great job enclosing from the rest of Burnside. We just went for cocktails, but the food looked and smelled great, so we'll probably be back to try it out sometime. Our cocktails were really well-executed and I imagine the same of the food. The pho-wash on the Vibe Check was a surprising savory note that somehow worked really well. I wanted to come back and update my old review. I came back with a group of friends. We were in on a Monday evening so it wasn't busy. We all got the "only fans", yummy. We also tried a Vibe check which was too savory I felt like I was drinking coconut curry or something. My reason for giving 3 instead 5 stars now- is because it took a long time for us to get our drinks 10-15 minutes each time. At one point someone from our table went in to ask and said the server was standing around talking and our drinks were ready sitting. Also, rats... In a back corner of the patio where we sat, there seemed to be a storage area? There was a rat skeleton in sight.. We were like uhh hmm questionable but became vigilant. But then we witnessed a live full size rat 3-4 times that was running under tables/benches and once right past our feet. I know it's the city and rats are around and I'm sure they are hard to get rid of... Dirty pretty is connected to 3-4 other similar establishments with outdoor seating so I'm sure that all has an affect on it. But I have never witnessed rats while drinking/dining out outside before or at the connected establishments. Naturally it feels un hygienic in general for many reasons.. Who knows what else they are getting into. They carry diseases and people are eating food outside. Not to mention the back door stays open so it feels unfortunate as the dirty pretty is a cute/social cocktail bar. read more

Came by on a Friday evening to enjoy HH specials and we were about to get seated right away. We enjoyed a couple of cocktails off the happy hour menu (Capricorn and jungle juice) and also ordered the smash burger and Jo Jo's. I quite enjoyed my jingle juice drink and my partner liked the Capricorn. The burger and jojos were super tasty, but wished the burger was bigger for the price. We were still hungry so we added on the fried saimin noodles and another drink, blush. The blush cocktail was refreshing and light. The noodles was good, but slightly over salted (and I love salt). Southpaw seen in the photo has Japanese curry whole vibe check has pho! Sounds weird but in my opinion, they made it work very well. Their other drinks aren't too bad either. Definitely a cocktail bar so don't expect them to be cheap drinks. As for the food, they weren't bad but not as amazing as their drinks. I like the playful plating and their heavier portions but the flavors were mid. Service was great! You can sit anywhere you want and servers will just pop right up to you. They're patient with you and will guide you through the menu if you need some help. Overall a nice bar to check out when drinking out or just want some well made cocktails read more

I've only been in twice but I like this place for drinks. Most recently I had the Vibe Check, with gin, vermouth, coconut, lime, lemongrass and a pho-wash. It was sooo good, great balance of lime, sweetness and those pho flavors. I love the vibe of this place too and it's just a great location for a drink. The bartenders were friendly. When it came to pay the bartender automatically pressed the 20% tip option before handing us the device to sign. It was myself and 3 other girls I was with and she did it to all of us, I think it should be up to the customers to decide if they want to tip or not, idk that just threw me off. Was she was expecting to get more money out of us since we all payed separately? To note they charge an automatic service fee of 4% to your bill. Overall first time trying this place out. I heard they had a Taco Bell inspired menu so I had to come try. I loved the fried chicken taco it has a nice spice to it. The carnitas taco was dry in my opinion would like it if they gave extra sauce or lime on the side. If you love sweet treats try out the funnel fries I loved them. We sat inside in a booth near the windows but they do have an outdoor patio in the back and they also have live DJs. The service was wonderful. All the staff was super nice and friendly and so welcoming. We order a few drinks; Jungle Juice, Blush, and the White Lotus (this was a non-alcoholic drink). All the drinks were good and refreshing and they even had my favorite ice! The small nugget ice. My friends and I ordered a few dishes to share. We had the fried deviled eggs, Hurricane jojos, Korean fried chicken sandwich and the fried sieman. The deviled eggs were good and they come topped with Chinese sausage. The sieman noodles were my favorite! So flavorful and tasty. The hurricane jojos were good but could have had more seasoning/flavor, and the chicken sandwich was also good. Came by the other day with some friends for a late night dinner & we quite enjoyed it. We all ordered smash burgers (and in true smash fashion they were delicious). We also got the pork hash & enjoyed it. I ordered the Capricorn and was surprised that the goat milk didn't come through more; the cocktail tasted pretty much just like bourbon, but with a savory (not sweet) hint of something else. The star of the show was the Vibe Check, I'd recommend going to this bar just to get this drink. Imagine that sweet aspect of pho broth separated out and melded into a perfectly balanced cocktail. My friends & I were a bit skeptical at first, but after tasting the drink, we had to order another. The drip was also a favorite--felt like an adult version of a creamsicle. The space feels very 70's mixed with islander vibes which I'm totes for! What a cute place to celebrate with the girls for a birthday! We had an intimate little booth reserved for us by the door. It was fabulous. The cocktails were so delicious they could be dangerous! Lol the waitress was so sweet and even took some group pictures of us. Beyond wonderful service. The scallion pancake was different than I expected. The cocktails, and menu were decent enough. We sat at the bar top (party of 4) and all sat with empty glasses after our first round for longer than 10 minutes. Would have had a second round had we gotten service. Bartender did not serve a single person at the bar top and only camped in the Service well. Server or bar back who had initially taken our order didn't check back in once. Once I asked for the bill, I was asked to "give me a minute". We were all disappointed in the quality of service considering the reputation. Keep in mind that we had eye contact with each of the service staff mentioned in this post, several times. My friend really liked the Smashburger, but it was pretty small. The Steamed Pork Hash-Hash was alright, but not as flavorful as I'd like. The vibe check had an overwhelmingly, strong lemongrass flavor, which I actually like but there was way too much lemongrass, so it tasted like a savory Thai food dish. The guava drink was not mixed, so the banana liquor was sitting on top and tasted like syrup. we informed the waitress and told her we wouldn't drink them and they were really bad and all she did was say "sorry about that" took the drinks and that was it. They clearly don't care about the service they give or being presentable. I wouldn't completely give up the place because I love cocktails bars as Im a manager for one.
