My experience started off well. I ordered my tires on Friday. They got them in on Saturday and called me to come bring my truck in. Unfortunately, the person I spoke with on Friday (Drew) told me that I could bring my Truck and they would get me right in. I specifically asked if I needed an appointment and I was told no. I was told NO Not just on Friday, but again on Saturday when my tires got in!! I am here now sitting for 2 hours because they said they had 12 people in front of me. I am so pissed!!! I will never come here again. Who the hell would ever come here and sit for 2 hours!!!!! There is no accountability!! All I can say is HORRIBLE experience. Great Customer Service! All I can say is wow! Here's my story. I had a tire that started to slowly leak air, stopped in at Discount Tire and was expecting the usual "You need to buy new tires" that most places would do. I explained the issue to the associate that was at the register. We went outside to my car and he started looking at my tires. He asked me when I bought those tires and I told him that I just bought the car used from a dealer 5 months ago. He mentioned that the tires were relatively new because the date code on the tires were near the end of 2021. He then offered me if I wanted to purchase "Tire Certificates" which is a warranty for about 15 dollars a tire and that would even cover my one tire that is leaking if they needed to replace it. I was pleasantly shocked that they cover tires that were not purchased there. So of course I buy the certificates for the peace of mind. They did not have to replace the tire this time as the technician told me that it was a little corrosion on the wheel which they removed and reseated the tire and checked for leaks. I have always liked Discount Tire, but now I am totally a Discount Tire fan for life. I really trust them. read more

I am a father of 3 and I own 4 vehicles. Up until today, I've had a good experience with the Algonquin Discount tire. Today though, I brought 1 of my vehicles there to have a screw removed and they refused to do so citing liability reasons. Throughout the years, I have purchased $1000's of dollars of tires and repairs despite all of that though they wanted me to purchase a brand new tire. So Discount Tire has lost a lifelong customer, because of their inability and refusal to make the customer happy. By the way, I brought my vehicle to another garage and they fixed it no problem. Glad to be done with this location. Went in for a slow tire leak in a tire purchased from this location, which when the temperature drops is a common theme at this store (4 other people in line had the same issue). Three of us in line were told we had corroded rims and the only "permanent" solution was to replace the rims (no kidding, but how about we start with bead sealer first?), and I overheard one person being told they couldn't find a leak. Additionally, I was recommended to replace all 4 tires due to treadwear and cracking. When I started to question the quality of the rubber in the tires and the installation the salesperson noted the low miles I had accumulated on the tires since the purchase, and I said the car isn't driven much distance. He blamed me for letting the car sit unused ("Bad for the tires") until I told him the car is driven every single day, just short trips, with some longer ones mixed in. Their pricing is also difficult to follow. I was offered a pro-rated value for the tires, and some mixture of deals/rebates, but the final cost (which I had to add up on my own) was over $150 more than I was expecting based on reviewing competitor deals. I forego the pro-rated refund and bought new tires at Sams for less total money and a better overall service package, with roadside assistance included. read more

I have been a customer of Discount Tire for many years. I have multiple vehicles, two of them have seasonal tires (all season/winter) and I have also been a customer at multiple locations around the country; the service is normally phenomenal. I have trusted Discount Tire with maintenance (and of course replacement when recommended) of my family, business, and pleasure vehicles (a total of 30 tires) for a long time. I even stored my seasonal tires with them. I used this store to replace the tires on my daily driver, they missed the appointment and I had to wait half an hour (that's a long 30 minutes when your self employed). Then I brought in one of my pleasure vehicles, and was told they wouldn't balance the tires for me. Went back to the same location, and was told that thier books were full, and they couldn't take any more customers for at least a month (I just needed the wheels balanced). This seemed absurd to me, compared to my past experiences. Unfortunately I now have to find another company to do business with, and I recommend to others who may be considering stores for tire replacement, maintenance and repair, to avoid this store. They are not the only place in town, and again I recommend taking your highly valued business somewhere else. read more

I bought my tires at discount tire and as far as that I was extremely pleased and very pleased with their support package that comes with the tires. I do have a complaint about this location every time I make an appointment even when I got the tires but especially when I get service I don't get my car pulled into a bay until 1/2 hour after my appointment time. Even when there are empty bays and very few customers. Yesterday I took my car in for the yearly rotate and balance and it was 35 minutes before they even pulled my car in, that's 35 minutes after my appointment time I actually got there about 10 minutes early. They did not pull in my car until I pointed out that they pulled in other peoples cars ahead of mine. And since the place is so small I knew these people didn't have appointments. So while I am giving it a four stars please be aware of how they treat customers time especially when they are insisting that you make an appointment for routine work. read more

Ordered a set of new tires from this location of the Discount Tire chain after having been a customer in the past at the West Aurora location. I put in the order for two tires initially as cash was tight. Found out later that there was a rebate on the tires I ordered if I bought four, so I called back and doubled my order. It took them 5 weeks to get all four tires in. At this point the rebate was in the back of my mind. I got the tires installed and have been happy overall (despite some balance issues). It was when I called back and talked to my sales person Nate, that I have my problem, I asked about my rebate which was now no longer in the date range of availability. He mentioned he'd call Bridgestone and call me back... three weeks later, no call back. I had watched Nate talk down to several customers in between him making personal phone calls. The most disappointing thing, I could have just ordered the tires from Tire Rack and been done, had my tires on time, got my rebate, etc. My advice, if you go to this location.... The manager at this store understood my frustration of having to purchase new tires and went out of his way to give me credit back for the old tires to apply to towards the purchase of new tires and I am more then happy with my new set of tires. I had a flat tire on my Murano this morning so I drove down to Discount Tire in Algonquin, where I initially bought all of my four tires along with the replacement coverage. I always get great service and the wait time is always minimal, but today I was taken back a bit because even though I was the first one there @ 7:30 am, several people began to wait at the front door and of course tried to get in earlier than the shop opens, they arrived at least 20 minutes after me. So I decided to also wait in line otherwise I would be last in line, but to my surprise, the technicians already knew who was there first and attended me first, I was out in less than 20 minutes, with great service and they were able to patch the flat. Not a big deal about being taken care of first, but it's the principle, first come first serve. This team has my business for life. read more

I want to call attention to Adrian and his crew at Discount Tire. When I was shopping around for prices, Adrian was the most forthcoming and sincere among the Customer Service consultants. When he found out I would be closer to the Palatine one, he even suggested I bypass his store and go there instead. He also offered his referral so that the Palatine store would honor the rate he quoted me (with Lake County sales tax). In the end, we were headed out his direction and decided to get our tires there instead. I've seen customers act like jackasses towards the staff about them over selling them or something and I've never experienced it. I can't recommend Discount Tire enough! When my wife and I needed to replace 2 of her tires we did found the budget tires online and then went in to buy. We were armed with a stiff resolve against the silver tongued salesman. However we didn't need any of our pre planned defensive strategies against the all to familiar repair shop "up sell." Instead all we got was their educated, informed opinion regarding the tires we wanted and then presented the facts for other tires. After talking to with the representative we ended up getting a different pair of tires than originally planned. We were both comfortable with the decision as we had the facts and evidence behind his logic. Fast forward four weeks to when the wife's front tire (the new pair was on the rear wheels) was leaking and we went back to Discount Tire to have them take a look at it. Thinking the tire had a leak were prepared to replace the 2 fronts with another pair that we bought four weeks earlier. The guys at Discount Tire said they would try and fix the tire first, before selling us the new ones! They wound up finding a bead leak on the wheel and took care of it for free! Saving us a couple hundred dollars in the short term. When we do replace the wheel I expect we'll continue to use Discount Tire. They have a customer for life. read more

I priced out tires at a few places including Farm and Fleet and Costco. I found the prices and free services very similar to Discount Tire. I decided against Costco because of another reviewers comment...and after calling Costco: You can't make an appointment at Costco. It's first come first serve and the waits can be horrendous. I called Coscto...2 hour wait. I called Discount Tire "come in we will take care of you sir" I was in and out in a little over an hour. They installed 4 new TPMS sensors too and told me my spare sensor was fine. This tells me they are honest about what is actually needed. The next day my TPMS sensor came on. I called Will (store manager) and he had me come back. He found a leaky sensor due to some corrosion on my rim. He fixed it and I was out in 15 minutes. Sensor came back on the next day. I went back to Will and he found a setting was not right on my car...fixed again and done in 15 mins. He didn't even make me go back in the store my receipts for all three services were emailed to me. Neither of the above was Discount Tires fault. The tires are great so far much improved ride. I'm sold this is where I'll go for all my vehicles! read more

One of my tires had a nail in it . Being new to the area I didn't really know where to take it. I called and talked to Brandon he was very nice over the phone and told me to bring it in. When I got there Doug greeted me and talk to me about my tire . He took me outside and we looked at all my tires. When we went back inside he showed me a chart and where my tires were at on the tread. I really appreciated that. He didn't just say oh you are a girl and you need all new tires lol They fixed the tire with the nail in it (for free!!!!!!!!!! ) and I bought a new tire for one of the ones that had low tread. Ripped a hole in my front left tire, came in to get it replaced. Great customer service, very friendly and got the job done quickly. They didn't reset my TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system) so I came back the next day. Their device to read the sensors said they were all working fine but that was as far into it as they looked. Told me it was probably a broken wire somewhere and that was that. My dealership reset it no problem. They also placed the new tire in the back left instead of the front left even though I had explained I swapped the spare to the back since my car is front wheel drive. I just had my tires rotated so that annoyed me. A little more attention to detail is all that's needed. read more

Okay great! I get to the store at 2:40 and was told there was a wait until 4 pm. Why would I want to wait almost 2 hours for a rotation?! I made an appointment to get my tires rotated. I bought the tires 4 years ago, there's still tread left on them as they are the Bridgestone high life tires. I also got included a free for life rotations with them. When I got there the guy looked at my wheels and said that they needed to be replaced and that he wouldn't rotate them. Have 6 vehicles,with their tires. Bought new tires 2008.They have 2,000 miles on them. They will no longer service them due to age. Did the same with son's car. He had lifetime guarantee.Went in for tire rotation in January ,2018. When he went back with low tire pressure, in March they said they would no longer service due to wear.He drove it under 1,ooo miles. What gives. Not to be trusted. They just want to push sales. It would be like ,if your freon in your A/C is old it must be replaced. SCAM artist. Another customer came in for rotation and they stated his tires were not good. Their prices are competitive if not better, they stock quality inventory and their customer service is beyond exceptional!! The wait time is minimal, even on their busiest days. Watching the guys work always reminds me of the pit crews at a racing event. They do the job efficiently but effectively! Meh, prices are ok, location is ok but I had to wait 3 days for a tire rotation. When they did it my tire pressure warning kept coming on, I had to take it to a shop during a trip who told me one of the tires was worn out and the cords were starting to show through. I ended up purchasing 2 tires at this other shop. PROS: I had spent hours researching prices for new tires for my Sonata. I wanted exact replacements for the factory installed. Discount Tires beat every price that I had found on the internet. A few days ago, my son ran over a bolt on the road, Discount tires offered a free repair even though the tire was not purchased there. All other local shops I called wanted over $25 bucks. They also have a free service that will check and adjust you air pressure with virtually no waiting. CONS: Waited over a week for my desired tires to arrive from California. This location is great! I popped a tire this afternoon, and was close enough to the store to make it before the tire went flat. I'd like to thank an employee, Steve, for being so helpful and his wonderful customer service. Steve got my spare tire put on quickly for me, and took the time to price compare some of his recommendations for tires he trusts. He answered all of my questions and never made me feel rushed. Steve even went and evaluated the other three tires, as I thought they might be due for replacement. When I explained that I wanted to take home the information and think about it for a day, his friendly demeanor did not disappear.
