Great place been buying tires and rims here for years. Another great experience this time around after the dealership was no help at all.

I walked in first thing in the morning to get a full set of tires and front end alignment. Four employees were standing in front of their computers eating donuts. None of them would put down a donut to check on their computers to see if they had a replacement rim in my wheel size. The staff has always been helpful in speedy turnaround times...had to have a hole fixed in a couple tires. No charge on the last visit when we were bringing in a tire that had been fixed by them before. I bought some high-end wheels online and initially went to my local service shop to have them installed. 1 day later, they gave up telling me they couldn't figure out how to get them installed without the tire pressure monitoring sensor being broken. So I ended up calling around for shops with experience selling and installing 3-piece wheels and these guys sounded like my best bet. I took my tires and wheels to this location and they had them mounted and balanced in 30 minutes. They recognized the TPMS adapters I had bought. Their mounting tool had the plastic socks to avoid scratching the rim, and they had shorter valve stems to avoid rubbing the brake lines with the inner valve stem hole (each wheel comes with two). Anyway, they did a great job installing the wheels. Their service staff is very friendly and QUICK. I am definitely going back there when I need new tires installed! If you have upgraded wheels or are thinking about buying any, I highly recommend going here as they seem to have lots of experience with after-market wheels and their possible issues! read more

Too many people don't take the time to write about good experiences... so here is one. I went in Discount Tires and spoke to Karl about an awful noise coming out of my car. Another mechanic told me it was the tires "cupping" and I just wanted to make sure. Karl went for a ride with me to hear the noise and confirmed it was the likely source. He then offered to replace the tires, and if the sound didn't go away then he would put the old tires back on my car and I can take the car in to a shop. After replacing the tires, the noise went away! I got a great deal on the tires and I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. I recommend HIGHLY. Great service! read more

Great service! Had to have a tire plugged and thought I would try Discount Tire, since I had bad luck with Firestone down the street last year. They fixed my tire the first time and didn't charge for the plug kit. I will honestly be back when we need new tires in the fall. read more

We have been going to Algonquin Discount Tire for our tire needs since we lived in Algonquin, over 13 years ago. We've always felt fairly treated by them and have been very satisfied with their service and prices. Now, even though we live 20 miles from there, we continue to patronize them. Our latest visit was noteworthy: we brought our van to Algonquin Discount Tire to have the tires replaced. They had worn out prematurely and were entitled to a discount due to the tread life warranty. The salesman, Chris, quoted the price and got the work started. Shortly afterward he came out to show me a problem with the OEM chrome wheels - there was corrosion along the inside lip of each, which is a common problem with Chrome wheels. He gave me the option of just continuing to use the wheels, understanding that there would be slow leaks (which we had already noticed) or replacing them. There was no pressure one way or the other. He helped me choose a set of wheels appropriate to the van, installed them, and I was on my way. When I got home, I noticed a chip on one of the wheels. I took several photos and emailed them to the store manager, Will. Will promptly got back to me, apologized, and we set up a time to have the wheel replaced. I went back a few days later to get this done. When I arrived home, both my son and I discovered several noticeable scratches on the new wheel. Argh! I again sent photos to Will. We arranged to have me come back in again, we'd both look thru their stock of replacement wheels to find an unblemished wheel, have it installed, then look again. At this point it was unclear if the wheels were coming scratched, or the scratches were happening during installation. Will and I opened several boxes of wheels. It was apparent that they all were coming from the factory with slight defects. Some were worse than others, but none were perfect. These were slight cosmetic defects, not structural defects. Will patiently worked with me to choose the best of the batch, then used some product he had on hand (trick of the trade, see Will for details) to buff out the slight blemish to where it looked great. After installation, it still looked great. At no point during this process did I feel any pressure or irritation on Will's part to "go away", his primary goal was to have a satisfied customer. So from a customer service perspective, I was very happy with my experience. I do have a suggestion for improvement: The store really needs Wi-Fi for their customers. Apparently not having Wi-Fi is an edict from corporate headquarters. There is no hour longer than the hour to have tires installed, and having Wi-Fi would help customers survive the hour. I shouldn't have to try to leach the Wi-Fi from a neighboring restaurant. This is a cheesy solution. Overall, my experience was very good. I'm an engineer with an eye for detail - particularly defects in surface finishes - and Will, the store manager patiently worked with me to make me happy. We plan to continue to return for our business in the future. read more

used to dig this place, they must have changed sale phylosophy. Fast talking bunch of used car salesman. Even spoke with the manager "John" and he even gave me the impression he had no time for me. Be careful of up selling, they kept refering to "certs" , I had to stop the salesperson just to ask what certs was, nothing but an extended warranty, told him to take it off and it dropped the total price $100. Went to a local mom and pops shop, they beat their price by $20 for the exact tire and I was ASKED if I wanted the extended warranty (which they did not recommend!). Bottom line give your money to the local economy and quit feeding the fast talking fat cats. What a shame, I've purchase 5 complete sets of tires from that shop, I won't go back. read more

Another great experience at Discount Tire. This entire franchise is top notch. I need to get new tires more than the average person, new set every year and I would never purchase tires anywhere else. I hit a pothole thanks to our wonderful city road crews and since I purchased the insurance on the tire it was replaced no questions asked or pressure to upgrade. Decided to buy one new anyway to have them match, but that was my own decision. Great staff, realistic time estimate and a clean waiting area. I really like this place and have purchased tires here before. But this time I had a couple issues with my experience. First of all, I chose my tires online and placed my order. I received a voicemail about my order, asking if I still wanted to have the tires special ordered or get a different tire. I called them back and told them I was ok with the special order. Upon returning from an out of town trip a week later, I called to check on my tire order. The staff seemed very confused about the tire order status and finally after getting the run around, they said it would be a couple more weeks to get my tires. I really think they just forgot to order them as they quickly offered me a better/pricier tire that they had in stock for the same price as my special order. I took them up on their offer and had the tires installed the next Monday. I drove on the tires for 1 week and it felt like I was driving on marbles! I was having trouble controlling the car and I could feel every bump and paint stripe in the road like it was a pothole. I really was concerned, so I checked my shocks and they seemed fine, I then checked the tire pressure on the new tires. Holy Crap! The tires were over inflated by 8 PSI on every tire. They were showing 38PSI when they should only be 30PSI. 25% over inflated seems like a big mistake to me, or at least I severe oversight on the installer. I released the air on each tire to the proper 30PSI and now the new tires drive like they should, smooth and steady with plenty of grip. I'll probably still but tires here, but I'll be double checking the air pressure and lug nut torque settings, to make sure they do it right. read more

This has been one of the best experiences I've had at any shop. Tires are what they do here and they make it very obvious they know what they are doing. Plenty of options in stock to choose from and a great staff willing to work with you to make sure you get the tires you need. I came in on a busy day and they made sure to let me know where my car was during the process. Went back to see what they would charge to have my tires taken of the rim and then re installed as I was having my rims powder coated. RIP OFF, they wanted $200. Needed new tires on my RV, the RV dealer gave me a quote but wanted to have Discount Tire quote it also. Jimmy was great, the quote was less than the RV dealer, plus Jimmy found out that there was a recall on the tires, so all I had to pay for was the Discount Tire warranty. Came here again with another vehicle expecting to buy 2 front tires due to what appeared to be a gash in 1 of the tires. Salesman was concerned as to why I needed tires. We went out and I showed him the gash, he advised it was just cosmetic from a curb or something. There was a slow leak anyway on that same tire, so they checked and repaired that. Extremely happy with service and honesty of this location. I will continue making this my main tire spot. read more

This was my second visit and my last! The reason for my stop by, I was given a free oil change for my next visit for my patients I had after waiting about five hours for four tires. I came in and was helped by the manager of the store, he started off rude and got even more rude when he said he couldn't honor my free change bc my car needed the most expensive one ... and only could do the most expensive one. Which was bullshit bc he pulled up on his computer which FOUR oil changes my car could do. Then after he told me he couldn't do my changed today because I needed to make and appointment. I then asked when his next opening was and he said " I don't know at this time"... very unorganized and unprofessional. As a manager you don't have a calendar book and know when your next free time is. He was only in it for my money and milking me for how much he could get. No help at all. BUYER BEWARE!!! On July 25th 2017, I had my tires replaced here. On August 22nd 2017, driving home from work, the front of my car was getting louder and louder. The next thing I knew, my driver's side front wheel came off of my car. Luckily there was a man behind me that saw this happen and pulled over to help. He was a mechanic and he noticed that all of my lug nuts were stripped. He removed one from each other wheel to get my tire back on, so I could get home (which was luckily close by). Needless to say I have never been more frightened. I was thankful I was not on the highway and that my children were not in the car, as this would have been a fatal accident for my family and possibly people surrounding me. I just wanted my car repaired. DISCOUNT TIRE'S CORPORATE OFFICE IN AZ DENIED MY CLAIM!!! They said that in those 3 weeks, I had driven the car for too long for it to have been their fault!!!!!!! read more
