On the whole, I dig this chain. They've done great work and provided fantastic customer service. This location however has a real gift for wasting my time. Everytime I call I'm told there is little to no wait, but when I arrive they've just had a rush. Today, I caught them in the lie. I called as I got off the freeway two blocks away. I was told, "There is no wait because nobody is here." 90 seconds later, I was told it would be about an hour. When I questioned this, I was told they brought in 6 cars in the last five minutes. I had a slow leak in my rear passenger tire and kept having to fill it every other day. I tried to make an appointment with the shop that installed my tires and then several other chain shops in the area with no luck; they were all booked out for at least a week and seemed uninterested in helping me. When I eventually tried Discount Tire, I was able to make an appointment the next day. When I showed up, despite being extremely busy, they were able to work on my car at my appointment time and addressed my issue posthaste. Further, when it was time to pay, they declined to charge me because it was a simple fix (even though I practically begged them). Finally, I noted while I was waiting that all of the staff I saw were obviously polite, highly skilled, and genuinely interested in doing good work. Not only did Dave give us a ride home when they couldn't get us setup before close, he covered the cost of new wheels since we had to have the car to drive home for Christmas the next day and he couldn't get the right tires in. First part of a two-part review (considering expansion to a threequel, if the timing's right and audience previews are favorable): I sprung for a pair of new tires at a Discount store in Northglenn in January. Then came to find an enormous screw and rapidly declining air pressure in one of the tires after work last Friday. I called this store first thing Saturday morning to try and schedule an appointment for the same day, knowing I was picking what must be America's favorite day to burn money on new rubber. Brace yourself, people... "Well, now would be a great time. Bring it on in, and we'll see what we can do." From the minute I walked in the door until I left fifteen minutes later, totally class act. Customer service was prompt, super polite (that includes the grease monkeys who get paid to do the dirty work) and reassuring. Easy to impress in the automotive department, I was still blown away by how helpful the guys here were. If kindness were the economy of the world (and it is, folks), this store would definitely get my money again. Turned out this particular store didn't have my exact make of tire, but they were quick to direct me over to another store in Arvada that did (see part two). In no time, they were able to remove and bag my flat, put on the spare (complimentary), and give me directions to the next store. I came to Discount tire on a Friday afternoon to get some new tires put on, as my tread was all but gone. I used their website to order the tires and make an appointment to put them on, which I must say was incredibly convenient. When I got there, I waited maybe 10-15 minutes before I was helped-but I don't at all blame the employees for that. There was a lot going on-customers checking out, others calling in, jobs being finished up-they were swamped and there were only 2 employees working cashiers/stations...that sounds like poor scheduling. In any case, when I did get the helped the gentlemen was nice and thorough, only asking if I wanted warranty on the tires but not pressing me to buy a lot more stuff that I didn't need. He got my keys and told me I could hang out and wait, or he could call me when it was ready if I wanted to walk around the area (I chose to stay) Based on what he was telling other folks that were waiting for services, I was expecting it to take 45 minutes to an hour-to my great surprise, 30 minutes later they said I was all set! They also let me know that I get free balance and rotation service with the tires, good at any Discount Tires location-a nice touch. Overall, I was very happy with my experience at Discount Tire. The appointment set up was quick and painless, the staff was nice and helpful, and the service was good and speedy. I'll be back. read more

Needed winter tires, bought four great tires that push the water away and grip great on snow and wet roads. Great price, cheerful service and reasonable service time. Four stars instead of five because I had to go down the street for alignment. They did give me a coupon for $50 alignment. But maybe that's how they keep prices low. This is where I get my tires taken care of, period. When they noticed that I was swapping snow and all season tires for 2 cars twice a year a while back, one of the associates mentioned it might be wise to just buy a 2nd set of rims for each car and just keep the tires mounted. Now, instead of paying $40 + tax for each car twice a year, they swap out my snow/all season tires for free. Rotate 'em too. The rims paid for themselves after 2 years. Now I just save money everytime I have to swap tire sets. Service is as speedy as they can be, though sometimes it is an awful long wait. This is usually attributed to the first impending snow storm of the season in fall and everyone and their mother coming in to get snow tires put on their rear wheel drive Trans Am. You know the car, it's the one that is still going to fishtail and not be able to get up any hill during the snowstorm, even with studded snow tires. One drawback: I wish they had free WiFi for when you are waiting. It would be a nice touch. read more

This place has been a double edged sword as I feel that many big automotive shops are to many people. I've gotten a set of tires here, so you're pretty much bound to the shop from there on out. You'll get free rotates and balances for the life of your tires, but they don't come with free hole patching, or an ACTUAL warranty. They said "If we guaranteed that you'd get the warranty mileage out of a set of tires, we'd never sell any." But they'll honor it if you pay the extra for the service package. They will price match, and I'm tired of getting dicked around by Big-O Tires and not standing by their warranties either, so at least Discount will tell you the truth right up front. This particular location is always slammed packed, so plan on making an appointment or waiting for quite a while unless you're there at opening. The surrounding plazas are full of places to go while you wait though, so make an exciting Saturday out of it, and hit Home Depot while you're out. read more

I have been having problems with my steering wheel shaking so I came in to get a balance & rotation (paid) and a few days later the shaking got worse, so I came back in today to explain the issue and I am now getting new tires and he cut me a deal for the problem caused. In my many years of owning trucks and trailers, it has become apparent to me that not all Discount Tires are created equal. Why do I continue to use them, you ask? I do find their prices to be reasonable, and appreciate that there seems to be a convenient location wherever I am, and I keep the insurance plan on my tires. I was super glad of this when I drove over a metal tent stake with my horse trailer in Arizona! Anyway, I digress. Back to THIS Discount location. After a disappointing experience at the Castle Rock location where they missed the screw in my tire that was causing it to repeatedly go flat (obviously SOMETHING was wrong!), I found myself in Arvada and came here! They found and addressed the problem immediately. A few months later it was time for a new set of tires, and the set they suggested has been serving me well. I'm here now for a rotation, Anne there was literally no wait before me. As always, the waiting area is clean and pleasant, and the guys professional. Thanks to fellow Yelpers, I picked Discount Tires to repair one of my back tires. I went in to see if my back tire could be repaired and left with four new tires. They checked out each tire and told me how much time was left. Luckily, my two front tires weren't in horrible condition so they gave me a trade-in credit on my final bill for both tires. Also, instead of forcing me to buy a fifth tire (I have a Wrangler) they were able to use the other back tire as my spare. Service was quick and efficient and I like the fact I can take my Jeep to any shop for service. read more

This place rocks. They are quick, patient, and courteous. I loved he way they treated all customers with dignity and respect. We were just in to get a fat fixed, but they still treated us like royalty. They all seemed very informed, knowledgeable, and concerned. I don't usually like going anywhere for any kind of service, but these guys really eased the sting of that. They were done quickly, to. We were in and out of there in 45 minutes! They not only fixed the flat, but they balanced the tires, rotated them, and adjusted the air pressure on all of them. GREAT SERVICE! I was very, very impressed. These guys don't care about the customer and they are clearly untrained in tires. I purchased a second set of wheels and studded winter tires over 3 years ago. Each time they switched my summer all season set for the winter set, they failed to rotate them. I asked for them to fix this the past two years and they countered that they are not allowed to rotate my tires. I mentioned that two of the tires were on backwards and they claimed that they didn't do that and it must have been different shop. I hadn't taken my vehicle to any shops since they were put on this season. This year the front tires were deemed ruined while the rear tires are nearly new. After taking my vehicle to a different tire shop, they discovered that Discount Tires installed two of the tires backwards! Don't waste your time saving $50. You'll lose in the end. read more

This is one of the busiest Discounts that I've been to but they're also one of if not the best one I've dealt with too. I've been having a streak of bad luck with "road hazards" from metal to part of a shredded tire that blew out my tire to numerous foreign objects finding their way into the inner sanctum of my rubber donuts and spoiling my day (and a pair of pants too!). The guys here are quick and courteous and I've never had a problem with over torked broken lugs, greasy steering wheels, or hard sell for other stuff or repairs that I supposedly need like I have at some of the other big box stores and chains. An added bonus for me is that there are a lot of restaurants and stores within walking distance if I want to wait for my vehicle. read more

I always DREAD going to car places when I need any type of maintenance done and am always expecting to be spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars each time. This time, I had a nail in my tire - it was so so flat. I went there after having put the spare tire on, having the jack give out which caused the wheel area to slam onto the concrete and when I went to pick up the car the tire had been patched, all tires were filled with air and put back into place and the metal fixed at no charge. I bought my tires here about a year and a half ago. Recently, I got a flat. I brought it in, expecting, at some point to be pressured into buying something. I certainly didn't anticipate walking out with my wallet intact. Boy was I wrong. They fixed the flat, fixed another tire that had a screw in it, rotated the tires, informed me of the wear on the tires, and sent me out the door at no charge at all. Second round of great service. It's been a few years since I have been in, but their service was great and fast just like before. I did make an appointment and was out in 45mins, just as I was told when I arrived. When I first got of out the car, there was someone right there to assist before I even entered the store. Made an appointment at 1:30 on a Tuesday for the rotation and balance. Was told to expect a 45min turn around time. I was able to drop the vehicle off early at 1pm and told them I was early for an 1:30 appointment. They estimated 45min again for turn around time. I waited on site and noticed my vehicle didn't get pulled into the bay until after 45min had passed. I see they are busy, and probably grossly understaffed. Management needs to see the long lines out the door and waiting customers and increase the service. Honestly I would recommend the Wheat Ridge location. I have to give this 5 stars, mainly because my wife goes there and I KNOW this place is a great deal. These people are fast (you can wait, have a latte, and your tires will be on in 45-60m at most), and the service really is terrific. I remember once, they fixed a leak and didn't charge us anything, didn't even check to see if we had a warranty. I just think business was slow, and they were just being nice. Anyway, as for cost, well, you'll get the cheapest prices anywhere. I'm kind of an idiot. I like to go to my Subaru dealer cause I like the people there and they treat me well. I buy my tires there too,..but I also know that I'd save about $25 per tire if I went to Discount. But I'm a creature of habit. I'm glad that my wife made it a habit to go to this Discount Tire store, since at least I can vicariously enjoy her good fortune. read more

Had 4 tires that I bought. Needed put on new freshly painted rims and then put on the car. The rims are staggered. One of the kids didn't really pay attention to the staggered rims and put a back one on the front. And knicked the rim. But Sean, one of the blonde guys was very smart and helpful.
