I dropped by with a wheel and tire that I'd not even purchased there, and they fixed it for free. While there, I was pleasantly surprised to see the mechanics using torque wrenches on the lug nuts instead of reefing them down with an air impact wrench. So I ordered tires online in January 2018. I was called by a DT tech and told I could wait a week for those tires to come in or I could purchase this other brand of tires they had in stock. So I said ok after comparing the warranties/prices/reviews/etc. I took my car in and spent $700 getting 4 brand new tires 01/27/18 with certificates and all. Mid March 2018 I wrecked the front passenger side of my car. I got all of that fixed, alignment, the works and all. Before going on a trip to Atlanta in April 2019, I took my car to the Georgetown DT location (cause it was close to where I was that day) and I had them check everything and rotate/balance my tires. The employee checked my tires and tells me I have tread of 4-6 on 3 of the tires but a tread of about 3 on the fourth tire and it's almost time to replace it when they are only about 1 year old. I ask how can that be? He tells me based on my mileage, I have driven my car 63,000 miles in a year (Jan 2018-March 2019) because he said I got them when my car was at 85k miles and now I am at 143k miles. I tell him that is ludicrous that he thinks I drove 4 times the national average and then he still tried to sell me 2 tires of some brand they had in stock, cut me a deal blah blah, which I declined. I got home and checked my oil change receipt from 3 days prior to getting my tires and low and behold my mileage was actually 119k so the guy entered my mileage wrong the day I bought the tires, THEIR error, not MINE. I go back to Anderson Mill location the following week and ask someone to come out and check my tread. Funny how they use the same tool and yet he gave me different readings than the guy from the past weekend. Then I go inside and show him all my paperwork of my car's mileage from oil changes and from tire rotations with Discount over the last year and how they messed up my mileage initially when I bought the tires. He fixes that (guess what it was the SAME guy who made the initial error) and then proceeds to try and sell me 2 of the same tire the other guy did over the weekend (maybe they make bonuses on selling certain brands or upselling). He also told me he can give me credit of $76.50 for each tire based on the mileage (orig. price of $180) and the total would be around almost $500. Please tell me how 180*2=360 but you take away the "credit" of 76.50*2=153 and then 360-153=207, how was it going to be anywhere near $500, even with tax and certificates???!!! I feel like it was all a run around game, just trying to sell me tires, since I am woman and they thought I would be easily influenced by them. After they fixed the mileage in their computer and they could no longer use that as an out for not replacing them, then they blamed me for going 13k miles between one rotation and somehow that made ONE tire wear more than others. My fiance and my father both told me they were FULL OF SHIT. I just took my car to the Mac Haik Lincoln yesterday for some other issues, and I had them check tires too. They told me that 3 of my tires have tread of 6 and one has tread of 2 (again different readings than Discount). They also verified that I do not have any alignment issues. After reviewing this with my dad, I have bypassed the manager of this location (I do not want anymore run around BS) and I have contacted the regional manager for the area (John Leuscher) and I am waiting on a call back today. I feel like Discount or the tire brand owes me a new tire due to one our of four of them being bad. They have tried to coerce me into buying another tire or two, when in all reality, that one tire they sold me is BAD and its not my fault that it has worn down more than all others. It just needs to be taken care of the right way instead of trying to find some way to blame the customer; especially because if my alignment had been bad, my dad said at least two tires would have wear and that is not the case. I hope this helps others from getting talked to into something they DO NOT NEED! read more

These people are so nice! They were not pushy at all, super fast and friendly. I made an appt. online to have my tires put on at 11 am and by 11:20 I was driving away. I really really appreciate such awesome friendly service in a world where most people see me as an opportuinty to rip someone off, becasue I don't know much about cars. Friendly staff, but very shady on prices. After over $600 on tires, they over charged me for a sensor. The light never came off and they told me to drive the car for a number of miles and it will go off. I went back today and suddenly its a sensor and it has to be replaced! Oh, Man, you guys were good! Bought 4 tires from you, just over 5 years ago. I don't put a lot of miles on my little wagon because I work and stay close to home. But when I recently experienced a hole in one of those tires, a friend suggested that I go to you, thinking that it might be "under warranty" and you mght replace it. I thought, "No way." I read my faded paperwork from my 5-year-old receipts and thought, "No way they're going to replace the tire. But maybe theyll give me a discount, for being a good customer. " Well, I'll be damned. First of all, they were busy as heck. Long line. But they had so many people on staff that just kept coming out of no where to assist the next customer. They greeted everyone that came in the door and said, "We'll be right with you." And they meant it. And very quickly, the next associate checked in with me, got my information, looked me up in their system, went out to my car. Checked out my tire, the bad one, now in the trunk. And replaced it. For free. I paid $14 (optional) for a warranty, similar to the warranty on the 5+ year-old tire they just replaced for free. The gentleman also took time to explain what was going on with my other 3 tires. Where were as far as wear and what they recommend for replacement in the future. No pressure. The guys here are very respectful and nice. They all seem to be busting their butts and working very hard. However, when I took my car in to get tires balanced and rotated my car then drove with a vibration, and I had to take it back in. Drove fine after. Took my car in today to get tires balanced and rotated again. When I got in my car to leave, the back and bottom of my car seat were WET. Not damp but actually wet. The guy who worked on my car was super sweaty, and when he sat in my seat he got his sweat all over. I was so grossed out, and my nice work clothes got messed up from the wet sweat. I guess I will put towels all over my seat next time I go in. I noticed the guy was super sweaty in his face. Didn't think anything of the rest of him. yuck read more

Charged me about 100 dollars for the wrong tire! Came in looking to replace my front driver side tire and they ended up replacing my back one (apparently had a nail that couldn't be repaired). I thought I heard good things about this place but was mistaken, only thing god was it took less than an hour. Not a routine customer here, but my incident today deserves a review. A couple weeks ago, I got a nail in my tire, purchased with the replacement certificate, from Discount Tire. The flat tire happened on a Sunday, of course, when this place isn't open. I went next door to Firestone, since it was open and.....needless to say I got pretty screwed over there. Overpaid, was told I have to replace my tire when it could have been patched after all. The guy at Discount Tire honored the certificate still, and refunded me over $100 for a tire I didn't replace thru them! They didn't have to take care of me, but they did. My advice: Don't go to Firestone if you can help it. read more

These guys took amazing care of me today! Realized I had a flat tire last night! Brought it in this morning first thing! My car has lock nuts, and I don't have the key for them! My front two tires were getting bad bald! I'm getting ready to trade my car in, so didn't want to sink a lot of money into new tires! They put 2 barely used tires on the bald fronts, patched my rear flat and replaced the lock nuts with regular lug nuts all for $30! Derek was amazing, and helped lower my stress levels! The pricing for warranty and tire are very fair. They work for your business, so not much sales talk ....just business. David is the best! The day after Thanksgiving, I noticed the very inside of my runflat tire on the front had worn all the way through to the steel wiring. Having had a rear tire shred on me in the past (very scary experience, I don't recommend ever risking that), I immediately drove to Discount Tire. Even with it being Black Friday and their store being very crowded, David greeted me with a warm smile and kindness after he saw how scared I was to have discovered the tire get so dangerously worn. Been strong my tires here for long time. Needed one of my tires replaced but none in stock. Came back 2 days later- wait was longer than told and then all of my tires are over inflated. Annoying and more work for me to adjust each tire to proper level. Curious if this was purposeful to get them to wear quicker. read more

Javier was my life saver, I had a huge gouge on the sidewalk of my tire and after driving to several places and no luck or good customer service, I decided to go back to work and make phone calls! As my luck would have it I was one satisfied person because the employee at 13376 Research Blvd #600, Austin, TX 78750 came to my rescue after the store closed. He took that bad tire off, put my spare on. If that wasn't enough of a shocker he took the bad tire away, I paid over the phone of course and then he brought my NEW and safe tire back to me the next day!!!! All on his own time while representing the kind of care that employees at this location show their customers. If highly recommend discount tires. Thank God that GOOD people still exist in the world!!! New to Austin and did NOT really know what I needed to do. No one else offered putting the spare on....... I didn't even think of that. This was my third visit to this location. Every time, I visited this location, my desire to come here again grew. Last time, I went there to get a flat tire fixed (it was purchased from them). To my surprise, they replaced the tire with a new one based on the warranty purchase I had made at the time of purchase of the tire. They also took my email address so that they can send me a reminder for tire rotation. All Discount employees were working briskly. I did not have to wait long time. This pleasant experience was new to me since I had a series of bad experiences with different auto repair shops earlier. All my future tire purchases will be from them only! read more

Do your homework on tired before doing business here. They will take advantage of you. I drive a very high profile sportscar and gave them plent of money to put the "best" tires for perfomance on my car. I find out 1 year later that i spent $1,300 for Michelins that are not sticky have terrible traction and they tell me they would never recommend my car for the tires they put on it. My attention is focused in other areas, grease monkey is not one. I pay these guys to be my trusted advisor in the tire and automotive industry..... i no longer trust them - they just want your money. I am still unhappy with the tires they sold me and robbed my intelligence with. read more

So I took my van in with a flat tire and it was diagnosed just being the valve and they replaced it free of charge. I had never been there before, they were just the closest tire place. Next morning, tire is flat again. Took it in again because while they got it wrong, they'd still did me a solid (and they were still the closest). They replaced the tire free of charge. read more

Even though the place is always busy, they always take the time to give the personal customer service and the line moves much quicker than you would think. They are cheap, fast and live up to their commitments. Went in for a Saturday appointment that was scheduled to take 45 minutes and it took exactly 45 minutes. This is the only place I'll go to get new tires. They are always polite and stick to the wait times that you're given. Their optional warranty has saved the hundreds of dollars. I would highly recommend purchasing it when you get new tires. They have never tried to wiggle out of replacing my tires when they've been damaged.
