I'm very disappointed with my recent experience at Discount Tire. I bought a brand new set of tires, and within just two weeks, one of them gave out. When I brought it back, I was told by the manager, Ryan, that the damage was "outside of the tire" and not covered under warranty. Instead of offering any kind of reasonable solution or discount, they expected me to pay full price to replace it -- even though the tire was practically brand new. I understand that not all damage may be covered, but two weeks after installation? That's ridiculous. I expected better customer service and a little more understanding, especially from management. Based on how this was handled, I won't be coming back and can't recommend this location. read more

They lied to me about services performed on my vehicle. My car came in with all 4 tire valve caps and left with 2 of them. I have replaced 3 of my 4 tires in the last year and wanted to buy a new tire to replace the 4th one, which is leaking air and is visibly MUCH more worn than the other 3. I was told I don't need a new tire. They said they would rotate my tires, and they didn't. They didn't tell me anything about why my tire is leaking air and didn't tell me if they repaired it. They rushed me in and rushed me out. And lost two of my tire valve caps and didn't bother to replace them. The wait time was short! But the service was worse than useless. They did successfully install the new wiper blades that I paid for, and they did air up my tires. read more

I had purchased new tires at this location and had them installed. At first I was I'm impressed at how fast they were able to get me in and out with my new tires and fairly good service. Fast forward to the next morning my 2 front tires are completely flat. I have a busy schedule so I sent my wife to take the vehicle in. When she asked they told her there is nothing they can do because it's an issue with the rim itself and practically refused to even look at the tires as they said there is no solution. I told her to ask if they can't apply bead sealer and he said that's a solution and the employee said they don't have as it's on back order. Bead sealer was sitting on the tire machine but they just didn't want to look at it. I took it to a different tire shop, the took the tire off the rim, cleaned it, and applied bead sealer. I called ahead of time, making sure that they had the tire and rim in stock which that person that I spoke to said that they it in stock and my husband just got out of and they told him that he had to order them so they need to stop lying just to get people into the door... if I could give a negative star, I would so bad do not go to this place read more

Showed up at Noon. Told I could wait 2 hours or make appointment for 3:45 and get right in at that time, returned at 3:30 to check in and was told they would have me in at 5. Why was I advised this way? Who in their right mind would have gone for that if they were informed correctly. Without him even looking to see what going on with the tire he immediately stated you need to purchase another tire. Don't even want to give 1 star. Every time I have to deal with discount tire they always have an excuse to not want to work. They take forever and a day to do anything and love to waste your time. I had made an appointment that was for a later date. The store called me and told me they had available time slots today. I decided to take the next day appointment for 8am. The technician told me he had my tires and could get me in and out in 15 minutes. He was true to his word! I highly recommend this Discount Tire. read more

Last night I had a flat tire. I took the tire off my truck and put on my spare tire. I filled the flat tire with air to 35 psi. I soaked the tire with soap and water and found the nail in the tire. This morning I dropped my vehicle off to the Baytown store with the spare in the back bed of my truck. I came back to pick up my vehicle there were ticket over $250 waiting for me. The Discount Tire employee told me that I had a hole in the side wall of the tire and it was not repairable. He didn't know that I had a video of exactly where the hole was in the tire. Never the less, they danced around my situation before kind of admitting that I was right. I paid $41.11 for the new warranty for the new tire that I didn't need in the first place. My advise to consumers is to take pictures and videos with clear evidence. read more

In 2020 I had 4 new tires installed but the balance was off. I went to 3 different discount tires before they realized they didn't install my hub rings, once installed the vibration was good. I just now got new tires in 2022 at discount tire again and they left off one hub ring, I figured out that it was missing when the center cap that they didn't put all the bolts in fell off. Made an appointment and I was helped little after I showed up. Colton and all the guys that helped were professional and efficient. I bought tires but had to wait 1 day for delivery. They called and said tires were in, I drove to the store. I had to park and wait 25 minutes for a salesman, really? Still sitting 1.5 hours later and people showing up and going in front of me. I asked why, they said they probably have an appointment. I told them it would have been nice for the person that called to let me know I could do that. I dont mind waiting behind people that showed up today and bought tires, but after sitting and waiting a long time yesterday to buy the tires, I should have at least been put in line for installation on arrival, instead of waiting on a salesman. read more

Dropped my car off at noon on a Saturday, and was quoted a 1 hour and 15 minute wait. I came back at 2:30 and the store was closed. They closed early for a company event and failed to notify me. They then had the car locked inside until Monday. This is unacceptable and a direct reflection of poor management. If a customer comes in at noon to drop a vehicle off and you're closing at one your employees should be trained to at least notify customers that you're closing early. Your site showed no such change, nor did any non affiliated sites. You own the discount tire website. If this is a company function your store hours should have been updated respectively. This is unacceptable. If this is how one off things are handled- I can't imagine how day to day issues aren't handled. read more

Waited in line to get my tires rotated, left and my tire pressure dropped rapidly. When I went back they aired them up and said that should fix the problem. Left again and it did the same thing. Came back and as they look at it a valve stem is messed up. Instead of bringing it in and fixing something they messed up, I'm waiting over an hour again to get the problem they created fixed. This is my second review of this store and I was disappointed today because of the long wait. My service was supposed to be complete by 12:50. It was finally ready at 1:35. I woke up to a bad leak in one tire and it was down to 10 lbs. These were 4 new tires purchased at this store last summer. I would have made an appointment but this was an emergency. I strongly suspect the excessive wait time was because the repair was under warranty and they weren't getting any money from me today. read more

My vehicle tire had kept losing air although I didn't know why. I didn't see anything wrong with it. I took it to Discount Tire to have it checked. A piece of glass that was so small had punctured through the tire. Discount Tire patched my tire for free and I haven't had any more issues with it. I recommend Discount Tire. read more

I understand it is the day after Christmas but that does not there is a reason to rude or secondly tell the customers a certain time frame then fail to even meet that time frame. Got here at 1 and as I write this review my parents are still waiting to get their tires rotated (it is now 3:45pm )and the only reason they are still having to wait is because the associate Christian said there are still 4 people with "appointments" ahead of them when we got here they said the longest we'd have to wait is 2 hours max. Mistakes happen but it is how you handle the mistakes that determine the final outcome. ** Discount Tire in Baytown on Garth Road just lost a customer. ** Last week, I went to buy two new tires. They told me that they would have to order them so I paid a deposit and scheduled an appointment for this morning. I arrived early and they took an hour to pull my car into a bay. Shortly after, I get a phone call from the store even though I am right there in the waiting area. My phone only rang twice and I was not able to answer it in time so after calling the number back, I realized it was Discount Tire. I went to the desk and was told, sorry, your tires did not come on so we are putting your tires back on the rims now. We will have to re-order them or can you drive to Atascasita to their store where they have some in stock. I have jobs today so the answer is no I can't. I requested a full refund. After leaving, I drive to NTB and before I go inside, I check for my wheel locks. Guess what? They are not there. Now I have to go back to Discount Tire to pick it up. Again, mistakes happen. It is how you handle them that make the difference. I would have been fine with a discount for the inconvenience. Nothing was offered other than "Can you go to our Atascasita Store?" I needed to get a new tire for my car (one of the belts broke), when I brought in my old tire they realized they did not have the brand I needed in stock (Falken's) to match up with my other three so they found a tire that had almost identical tread - Hercules. They were extremely helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and quick. I mean who want's to spend a lot of money and a whole afternoon getting a new tire? Noooooot me. =) read more

I always get my tires here for two reasons: 1. They have the best price on the brands I trust (Michelin and Firestone) and 2. If they don't, they price match! Also they can get the job done pretty quick esp if you make sure what you want is in stock and make an appointment ahead of time online. The only tricky thing is their roadside hazard coverage. It's usually automatically included in the price but there's plenty of loopholes and situations it doesn't cover so I consider it a money trap. Aside from that you get lifetime balancing and whatever manufacturer warranty and rebate is available. Plus they are a national chain so any problems on road trips or if you move will be no problem at all. Very friendly team and fast service. Best place to get tires in Baytown! read more

Huge issues over two tire orders are making me look for another tire location. This time, my wife called in a specific order from the website and was told when the tires would be in. She made appointment and they did not make the truck, not phone call to tell her. The next day when they did come in she discovered store ordered wrong size. They challanged her that the wrong size tire was more expensive and would still work, so why was she not just letting them install them. After she refued, they reluctantly got it corrected and then had to return to get corrected order installed. The store severely damaged a lug nut at install and did not even mention it. Upon being notified of the hanging lug nut, the store manager offered a non-factory lug nut, and said thery are designed to break. Not even an apology for the waisted time and that someone left that issue on the passenger side. The manager treated it like she should expect to return three times.....wow. A closer inpection showed Discount service person also used wrong wrench so all lugs are enough off factory specs and now factory jack and wrench will no longer fit. Now I have to buy new lugs at my cost to make sure they all will work with factory lug wrench. If you go here add a full set of lug nuts to your price comparisons, and maybe a few times back and forth to get it corrected. .....I am done. read more
