I got a new set of wheels sooner than I expected, when a concrete barrier in the middle of Telegraph Rd destroyed one of my tires, and damaged the wheel. (Who the heck thought that would be funny? Especially at night. Karma for them.) After doing a lot of research online, I finally decided to go with Discount Tire, and I'm so glad I chose the Canton location. I came in early for my appointment. The guys there were very nice and professional. They told me it would take an hour so to do everything they had to. 45 minutes later, they were completely finished, and they did an amazing job! I asked to keep the original wheels and tires, so they placed them in plastic bags to protect my leather interior. They also placed the spare tire back underneath the cargo floor, better than I would've. I would recommend these guys to anyone. read more

Just to swap the tires out he was throwing a lot of tantrums and put me at the end of the line past closing time when he figured out that I was not buying anything. I have been a customer since the last 10+ years but never been treated like this. Also, he measured the tire depth incorrectly and tried really hard to sell me new tires. My tires currently have 6/32 which translates to 50% life. Bill is fraud to say the least. read more

I show up on Saturday and waited forever. The guy Steve walks up complaining about his job and tells me I don't have an appointment but I do. So I wait 30 mins for no one to even check me in and leave. I come back with another appt on Tuesday and it takes 20 mins to get checked in. I just wanted to leave the car and that took 30 mins. The entire staff are miserable and their customer service folks are horrible communicators. They are always busy, it always takes over an hour and the tires they sold me have needed to be plugged 4x in past year. There is no point in making an appointment read more

As busy as this store is, this team at discount tire is one of the best group of people I've dealt with. Each time I come back they always treat me well and offer exceptional service. Even in their busiest times, their attitude is always positive. Again, this is a great group of guys and the service is always excellent. I normally do business with Discount Tire on Carpenter Road in Ypsilanti. Have had excellent experience there. This time I went with the one in Canton. Only reason being they had the tire in stock. I made the appointment online and chose a set of Good Years. When I got there today for my 12 o clock appointment there was a huge line and the wait times were 2 hrs long. When my turn came I found out since I had an appointment it was going to be one hour. Ok I said and gave them my keys. The dude at the counter even upsold me a set of Cooper HTP's since that was what was on my vehicle. When I made the appointment online in comments I had mentioned that Chrysler center caps were an issue and if they thought they couldn't do it correctly I would rather take it to Dick Scott Chrysler for the job to be done right without breaking any parts. They had called me back to confirm and I was told there would not be a problem since they do it every day. So now they tell me that Chrysler center caps are a problem and so they do not break any trying to put back on they were just going to give me the caps to put back at my leisure any way I saw fit. Service time was great! I had the keys back in 45 minutes and instructed that since I had TPMS to give it 10-15 minutes to reset and all will be ok. So I thanked them for everything and left. By the time I got to Canton Center road through all the traffic the tire pressure light was still on and showing 1 low tire. So I pulled over to the side of the road to inspect and found my drivers side tire near flat. I Hazzard lighted and limped back to the store to be told a TPMS sensor had cracked which was a known issue with Chrysler and it will cost me another $60 to get it fixed. At this point I did not have any other choice and told them to go ahead and fix that and paid the extra monies asked. Finally I got my vehicle back and I drove home $400 poorer. And this time by the time I got to Canton Center road the TPMS had actually reset and all was ok. However I got to thinking. ( since I wasn't born yesterday) if they took the 2 rear wheels off and put them in the front to be safe yada yada yada, the wheels had already had fully inflated and working tires on them, and all they did was move them from back to the front which is a Discount Tire policy, and then they mounted the new tires on the front rims and installed on the rear axels then shouldn't the rear tires cause an issue??? Why the front??? The rear old tires were front tires. The old front tires were changed with new ones so any sensors that may break while they were doing all the work would/ should happen to those tires which were now rear tires. Why did the sensor which is inside the tire break all of a sudden on a rear rim which all they did was move to the front??? And why tell someone on the phone that there will be no problems putting the factory centercaps back on, and then being told, sorry we can't do it for we don't want to break it, so it is now your problem to get it put back on the right way. (Which means now I have to go back to the dealer to put them back on thus paying extra money??) Sorry to me this incident makes no sense. And Thus I shall never take my vehicles to this Discount Tire again. ****TWO DAYS LATER THE MANAGER,BRIAN CALLED ME AND APOLOGIZED FOR CHARGING ME EXTRA ON THE SENSOR THAT MOST PROBABLY BROKE WHILE THEY WERE CHANGING THE TIRES, AND OFFERED TO REFUND ME THE MONEY THAT THEY CHARGED EXTRA. This is a busy location, but my car is always ready faster than the time they give. I used to always do walk-ins for a tire rotation, but once I discovered appointments, I realized it's the way to go. There's plenty of seating inside while you wait, complimentary water, coffee, and newspapers. There are large windows to watch your car being worked on. I think it really pays to get the warranty when you buy new tires. Free rotate and repair for the life of the tire, and if they can't repair the tire they will replace it! I've had to have multiple tires replaced and was so glad I spent the little extra for the warranty. Another thing I appreciate is not being pressured into buying new tires while there is still life in my current tires. The car dealership generally makes me feel this way, but at discount tire I feel they are more honest. read more

I've been to Discount Tire on many separate occasions for different things and I have to say that the many times I have been here, I have never had a bad experience! Yeah, the lines often suck and many of don't want to wait for 45 minutes to an hour just to get some tires fixed, but hey, that's life and people just need to learn to be patient. I've need all my tires to be replaced, I've only need one or two to be, and sometimes I need to go in there to get some gunk removed from under the wheels. Either way, I'm always meet with fast and efficient staff who are always eager to help me. Honestly, if you know you have a problem. Call ahead and make an appointment. They answer the phone quickly and are very flexible if you have a last minute problem and aren't able to make it. I highly recommend this place! Very nice staff and quickly go about their work! This is a amazingly busy store. That's a good thing. I'm writing this review having waited for a few hours and sitting in a still full shop after close. People are still coming in and being triaged. I was just notified that after the wait, the replacement lug nuts that I bought would not work. That I've been waiting for nothing. As the anger began to set a solution was already in the works. The employees found a set that would work, gave them to me without charge, and had me on my merry way. I didn't bring all of the parts needed for my wheel change, they tried to help me out and failed initially, but rallied in the end. If you come here, come early. Terrible place. Don't back up there work. Paid to have my tires balanced in April 2018. 4 months later I rotate my tires and have a shake. Take my car back today 8/17/18 to have them rebalanced as now I have lifetime balancing on them and they refuse to do it. There excuse is my tires are too old. They have 8/32 tread on them and 4 months ago they weren't too old to take my money. Way too much competition around for these practices. You lost a customer that owns 5 vehicles. read more

I bought new tires for my BMW 325i about 9 months ago (in Feb) from the Discount Tire in Brighton....during the summer I made the mistake of replacing the black plastic valve stem covers they originally gave me with some aftermarket Aluminum BMW Logo ones, BAD MISTAKE!! So, moving forward to the following cold December weather when it was time to fill my tires up with air...realizing that one of those aftermarket aluminum valve stem covers had literally fused to the metal valve stem tip!! Tried sawing it off with my Makita Dremel and Die Cutting Tip with no success. Brought it into this Discount Tire with hopes of help. They were a little busy because it was a Monday and them being extra safe due to COVID, not a problem!! Assured me it wouldn't be an issue so I waited and then watched in my car as they worked on it! AMAZING!! Super smooth, and they did it all for free!! Yeah, needless to say I'll be coming to this specific location for any future work with my tires (especially when it's time to buy new tires)! read more

Absolutely love this place! Walked out of my house to Saturday morning happy for a 3 day weekend only to find a flat tire on my car. So disappointing to begin the day like that. Tried Belle tire only to be told there's a 3 hour wait and maybe I should go somewhere else. Guess they did not need the business. So I left frustrated. Then decided to look on yelp. Discount tire had a higher rating with more reviews. Drove to the Canton location expecting some of the same. The gentlemen were very helpful and professional. Some places wanted to make me wait at least 3 hours PLUS pay a fee of $20, and other places wanted me to schedule an appointment later in the week which puts me at risk for getting a flat tire. I called The Discount Tire Store in advance to make sure that the rumors were true...that they would repair my tire for FREE the SAME DAY with minimal wait time.
