I got a flat yesterday, brought my car in immediately without an appointment. They were able to diagnose where the leak was and unfortunately it was in a spot that wasn't where they couldn't repair it. Since I got my set of tires from them and it fell under their warranty, they were able to prorate my new tire at almost half the cost. $140 out the door for a brand new Bridgestone Drive Guard Plus run flats. I have always been very happy with the service and work provided by Discount Tires, however the lack of respect for customers time is becoming an issue. This is now the second time I had a scheduled appointment early in the morning, but upon arrival every single bay was full and my vehicle didn't get into the garage for 45 minutes after my scheduled time. The entire process to rotate the tires was no more than 20 minutes however, the issue is I had a scheduled appointment. There was no apology, no explanation, just an expectation that I was to wait until they decided to get to it. I also noticed on the vehicle tracking app it stated they were done 10 minutes before I even received my vehicle. If you have paying customers that take the time to schedule an appointment please be considerate of our time. I am seriously considering a new location if this continues. read more

The service at the Carpentersville store has really declined! I've purchased tires there a few times and the last time I was there, even though I had an appointment, they took someone else first! I complained and the manager got me in pretty quickly but their system of waiting on customers definitely needs improvement. Yesterday, I went there to have the air in my tires checked. The bay door was closed and there was a car in front of me. I waited about 10 minutes and decided to call in case they were not offering the service. I was told they were but they were pulling cars in to check the air, i guess due to the cold. I waited another 5 minutes and nothing so I left. The low tire light came on just as we were heading out on a road trip out of state. When I pulled into the lot I noticed an "air check" lane and pulled in. The employee took my information and explained what he was going to do. He chanced all 4 tires and verified a leak cased by a nail in the tire. I was not happy about the nail as the tires had 2164 miles on them. I then parked and went inside to arrange for service. Luckily they were able to patch the leak. I brought in a tire that had a leak due to having a small nail hole. They took it back for repair, then they come out and mention they cannot repair it because the nail went in at an angle. When I questioned them, they say the nail went in at an angle towards the shoulder of the tire, but I clearly see the nail is angled away from the shoulder, they then didn't say anything else except the tire needs to be replaced. I took the tire back and went to a different Discount Tire and asked for a second opinion. They confirmed the tire was 100% repairable. Stay far away from Josh and the Carpentersville store, they lie and are just out to make unnecessary sales, very sad. read more

Stopped at this location late morning just before eleven was acknowledged that I was waiting for service as employees were all helping customers within five minutes it was my turn told Efrain I think I have a nail in my front driver side tire or something is wrong as I have to put air in it every day and the last time I had the correct pressure but by the time I finished my shift at work it lost ten pounds!! My previous visit was very professional, this time I came back and I was approached by Jordan. All I had requested was to take care of the tire rotation and balancing on the wheels. During the whole conversation he just kept on pushing and insisting to purchase new tires. I think this location needs retrained Jordan before other customers feel very uncomfortable and just walk out and go see the competitor. I always buy the tire warranty and have used them with NO Problem four times. One time I needs a set of tires for an 18 year old truck. I didn't want to spend a lot. I've had nothing but good experience(s) at this Discount Tire location. I am a long-time customer. In 2017 after online shopping for best price bought two full sets of tires for a Pilot and a Camry. Price was great. Both times I was a walk-in customer and was taken care of very fasssst. Hello, Friday May 5th I called your store to get quotes on replacing all 4 tires on my wife's car. I spoke with Antonio and he was very helpful in regards to how much my tires will cost. I have 18 inch tires and I told Antonio my wife is a homemaker and only uses the car for errands( about 4000 miles) per year. I received a quote of $110 per tire and about $25 replacement( disposable) cost per tire. This was much less than a quote I received from Firestone and I told him I will go with Discount Tires. When I arrived Antonio came out to my car and entered my tire information in his hand held computer, I told him the tire valve sensor on my dashboard was always on and he said I will have them reset it and it should take car of the problem. He went inside and printed the cost to replace my tires. I already had a rough figure in my head based on my conversation with him earlier totaling about $600. He printed out the work order and it was about $980! I asked him what are all those additional cost for and then he showed me the invoice. I looked it over and the tire were about $180 each,charge of lifetime tire service, charge for tire replacement certificate. This was never discussed on the phone and on your website states as an option for additional cost. Antonio didn't ask me if I wanted those tires or additional services and was ready to charge my credit card without even explaining those additional cost. I was ready to leave and he then told me he could get me the $110 tires ,remove the lifetime tire service, and explaining that he couldn't remove the certificate fee. I then asked him about getting the 5% off if I open account with discount tire. His face expression and comment was.. now I will have to cancel and start all over. His customer service was terrible, he should have asked me about opening up an account. There were so many things that were unprofessional with his services. As a 1st time buyer at your establishment and my wife friend recommended going to you was not a good experience. Antonio removed the Lifetime service and I received the 5% discount.I approved the invoice and left the car there overnight and will pick it up the next day. The next day I came to pick up the car and spoke with Ian. I looked over the invoice and asked Ian, can I remove the tire certificate from my invoice, again explaining my wife doesn't drive very much and this won't benefit me. He said yes it can be removed. Now the total cost with the 5% discount was about what I originally thought it should be. I asked Ian if they reset the valve sensor, he said it wasn't stated on the work order. Again, another setback. I explain to Ian the terrible experience I had yesterday with Antonio and on top of that he didn't write down about the sensor. Ian told me he wanted to make this right for me and spoke to someone in the back and said give me about 15 minutes and we will take care of it and if the sensor is bad we will cover the cost for your inconvenience. I was extremely happy that Ian resolved all the issues but again very displeased with the customer service I received from Antonio. He was very misleading, I'm not sure if I will tell my friends to go there because of my experience and would hate to have them receive the same service. Cold bottled water was available to customers However, bathrooms need a better up keeping!!! I am extremely grateful for the group who serviced my 2019 Ford Fusion. I went in for a rotation and balance and they discovered all of my lug nuts were damaged and swollen. This is a known issue with ALL ford vehicles and I was well aware as it happen d on another vehicle I own. This could have easily resulted in a huge tow bill if this wasn't caught. After about an hour of waiting (walk-in, no appointment) they told me the repair was free of charge! I recently decided that my Hummer needed a new set of tires. I had some local tire shops bid the job and even checked out the prices on TireRack.com and Discount Tire still had them all beat by several hundred dollars on a set of tires that cost well over $1,000. I dropped my vehicle off unannounced this morning and was told that although the tires were inordinately large and had to be special ordered, they would still have them in and installed the same day before the shop closed. I got a call later in the day advising me that the tires had just shown up and that they would have the installation done by the time I got to the shop. Little did they know I was right around the corner and made it there about half-way through the process, which was good because it gave me the opportunity to supervise the installation. Their shop is probably one of the most meticulous and orderly tire shops I have ever seen. No joke. The floors are spotless, the machines and tools orderly and clean, and the whole place exudes an aura of meticulous professionalism. I watched the tech as he changed out my tires and his work was perfect, leaving not so much as a single scratch on my rims (an enormous pet peeve of mine). Each lug nut was carefully hand tightened and then checked with a torque wrench to make sure it was 100% within spec. Rarely do I have a flawless experience with a business establishment, but this is one of those very rare occasions when every aspect of the business transaction was completely on the mark. I have been a customer of Discount Tire for about 30 years. This is my third time at this location and it will be my last. Not only did they rummage through my trunk and my glove box, and everything they touched now has grease on it. They didn't bother cleaning up after themselves at all and they never asked permission to go into my trunk for my glove box. The kid that was supposably rotating my tires was very rude and argumentative. They claim they gave me a tire rotation and they did not. I once went to one shop and was estimated 300 to replace an " irreparable" and "severely damaged" tires according to Nissan.
