So I booked an appointment at the discount tire in Encinitas . I had a tire that was losing air so decided to go in and patch my tire up or possibly replace it for a new tire . I got there and they honored my reservation and told me they would patch it up free of charge. After about an hour later they handed me my keys and told me that it was all patched up and ready to go . To my surprise , the next day my tire light went on and was losing air already. So I thought the patch had come off and needed to be resealed . This time around I took it to a different location and I told them about the patch up and to have it fixed . To my surprise once again they told me there was a nail still in the tire and there wasn't even a patch in the tire . The new location swiftly took action and took out the nail and patched my tire . Discount tire Encinitas should be ashamed of there work! Not only did they lie to me and tell me it was all patched up , they handed me my keys as if nothing was wrong or I wouldn't find out! This is in my mind shady as all hell , not to mention a liability if that same tire would of popped on the freeway with my kids in the car! Please Encinitas ! Do not lie about the work done to people's cars . There safety depends on it ! I will be taking my car to a different discount tire location in the future ! Thanks but no thanks ! They then brought to my attention that one of my tires was beginning to wear; I wasn't ready to replace them yet, but I greatly appreciated the note! I've lived in places where I didn't have access to Discount, and that only reaffirmed the great service at all Discounts. For many years now I have gotten my tires at Discount Tire. Recently I had an experience that cemented my relationship with them. My less than 1 yr old 320 kept having the low tire pressure light come on. After filling it with air the 3rd time, took it to the dealer to check the tire - mistake #1. After telling me I could wait for them to check the tires (rather than getting a loaner) I waited 1 1/2 hrs for them to tell me there was a small nail in the tire that couldn't be repaired and a new tire there was $300. Said I would check other tire places and went to Discount Tire in Encinitas. They looked at the tire and said they could repair it= which they did for FREE!! Took less than 1 hr too. Came in with the spare on and the flat tire in the back. Initial diagnosis was that the tire was likely unrepairable due to size of the hole that caused the flat and I would need a new one. The new one isn't cheap - it's the 20" Hankook tires you see on Ford Explorers and would have run about $225. Well, the guys gave it a shot and were in fact able to repair the damaged tire and for FREE!!! Now, they could have thought "let's get the quick sale" and leave a customer (me) with some doubt as to whether a new tire was really needed thus causing the customer (me) to not think twice about going back. Now however, it's clear they're thinking long term and doing right by the customer so have now earned my business for any future tire needs. Now that's customer service - Thanks guys! read more

I haven't been to Discount Tire for 50,000 miles, except to replace one tire using their road damage warranty. So with 3 tires down to the wear bars, it was time. Manager Ritchie asked a few questions about how we use our SUV, then typed some information into their system. When he turned the screen to me, I was able to compare three different brands. The comparison included wear, ride, traction, performance etc. and ratings from Discount's customers and their own research. It was really helpful to have my choices narrowed down, and handy that the tire I chose was one that we had on an older SUV 10 years ago and wore very well. Then the best part, pricing. With trade-in credit on my newer tire, and some wear warranty credit on the other three, I walked out at $150 under budget. Discount Tire Stores have always been good to us. We have been repeating customers for the last 10 years. Today was no exception. 5:25PM: my wife gets home and tells me she got a low tire pressure warning. I checked the suspect tire and sure enough there's a nail in it. 5:29PM: called the Encinitas Discount Tire store and they said "bring it in and let's get it fixed. We close at 6PM." 5:35PM: Arrived and got checked in immediately by Ernesto. Super friendly and professional. 6:00PM: Osmar handed us the key fob. Nail removed, tire sealed, balanced. I The only reason I "loved" parting with 400 of my hard earned dollars is because I was able to easily schedule my appointment online, pick out the tires I wanted, and see a VERY CLEAR break down of price. By the time I rolled up for the appointment, all I had to do was check in. The guy who helped me could clearly tell I knew what was going on so he saved his sales pitch for the next guy! All in all it was just such an easy experience, it took less than 45 minutes! I felt compelled to leave a review so others will know to use their online services to save both time and money! I went into this location with a tire that I purchased from another company that had an air bubble in It. The other company was going to charge me labor for another tire which I didn't feel was right since I already had the protection pack paid for. I came to this location and was helped by Joe and Chris. They were able to order me a tire that would hopefully arrive the next morning. When It did I received a call promptly at 730 am letting me know it was there. This was one of the best customer service experiences I've had and props to the team here for being so nice, knowledgeable, respectful and above all for taking care of me. ***ATTENTION*** My girlfriend took her truck in a few weeks ago to get new tires installed..last night she had a flat tire and called AAA to help her install her spare, what AAA found was sooo dangerous!! Two (2) of the lug nuts were missing, one was broken and the others were stripped so badly that they refused to attempt to remove them! Had the truck towed to discount tires and after several calls, promise call returned and yes even was hung up on, they said they'd have to have the truck towed to another location as they couldn't even fix what their own mechanics had done!! So thankful that she had that flat or else the wheel would have eventually fallen off causing a accident! All the time she's not had one apology! As I write this review we are waiting to see if they will stand by their word and have the necessary repairs done to make the truck safe again.. I would never recommend having anything done to your vehicle here, if you find yourself still wanting to change it for low prices then do yourself a favor and check to make sure all parts or installed and double check work prior to leaving...what's your friends and families life worth to you! read more
