Worst service ever. I was waiting for nearly 2 hours in their lobby. The tech must have called my name in his dreams. When I went to check on my car they told me that it is ready. I went in the parking lot scouting for my car. The tech had to run around trying to locate my vehicle. I asked why did you park it so far away. In addition, they didn't try to sell me new tires. All of the Discount Tire people were very nice and had me on my way in less than 40 min. No cost AND amazing service. This company completely gets customers more then I can even explain in a review. My tire was flat yesterday morning and I don't have a spare. But I did have slime which fills the flat so you can use the tire. Inside the tire is a big mess but at least the flat is filled till you can repair it. I took my car to Discount. They happily looked at the tire and EVEN thought I had bought my tires at Costco they repaired the tire for free. Yes for FREE. Who does that? This is a very different and smart way to deal with the public. I would have happily paid for the repair, they spent almost an hour of their labor on the job. But they know I will most likely tell everyone about what they did, which I am, and here I am writing a review on Yelp, which they completely deserve. Will they have a customer for life now? I did a walk-in to have my tires rotated and aligned. From the moment I walked in I was greeted and they began my tire inspection. They then brought to my attention that one of my tires was beginning to wear; I wasn't ready to replace them yet, but I greatly appreciated the note! They gave me an estimation of an hour and twenty minutes. And what do you know; it was right on the money! Speaking of which, it didn't cost me a penny, which was great. When I bought my first set of tires my father told me to always go to Discount Tire. They have never let me down. I've lived in places where I didn't have access to Discount, and that only reaffirmed the great service at all Discounts. At this particular location, I've gotten a set of tires, had them rotated and had a damaged tire replaced. The service has been outstanding each time and the timeliness of the service is excellent. So I booked an appointment at the discount tire in Encinitas . I had a tire that was losing air so decided to go in and patch my tire up or possibly replace it for a new tire . I got there and they honored my reservation and told me they would patch it up free of charge. After about an hour later they handed me my keys and told me that it was all patched up and ready to go . To my surprise , the next day my tire light went on and was losing air already. So I thought the patch had come off and needed to be resealed . This time around I took it to a different location and I told them about the patch up and to have it fixed . To my surprise once again they told me there was a nail still in the tire and there wasn't even a patch in the tire . The new location swiftly took action and took out the nail and patched my tire . Discount tire Encinitas should be ashamed of there work! Not only did they lie to me and tell me it was all patched up , they handed me my keys as if nothing was wrong or I wouldn't find out! This is in my mind shady as all hell , not to mention a liability if that same tire would of popped on the freeway with my kids in the car! Please Encinitas ! Do not lie about the work done to people's cars . There safety depends on it ! I will be taking my car to a different discount tire location in the future ! Thanks but no thanks ! For many years now I have gotten my tires at Discount Tire. Recently I had an experience that cemented my relationship with them. My less than 1 yr old 320 kept having the low tire pressure light come on. After filling it with air the 3rd time, took it to the dealer to check the tire - mistake #1. After telling me I could wait for them to check the tires (rather than getting a loaner) I waited 1 1/2 hrs for them to tell me there was a small nail in the tire that couldn't be repaired and a new tire there was $300. Said I would check other tire places and went to Discount Tire in Encinitas. They looked at the tire and said they could repair it= which they did for FREE!! Took less than 1 hr too. Very early on in a trip up to San Francisco, my sister and I popped one of our tires while pulling into a gas station at 7am. We showed up to Discount Tires before they opened and there were already people waiting outside. Came in with the spare on and the flat tire in the back. Initial diagnosis was that the tire was likely unrepairable due to size of the hole that caused the flat and I would need a new one. The new one isn't cheap - it's the 20" Hankook tires you see on Ford Explorers and would have run about $225. Well, the guys gave it a shot and were in fact able to repair the damaged tire and for FREE!!! Now, they could have thought "let's get the quick sale" and leave a customer (me) with some doubt as to whether a new tire was really needed thus causing the customer (me) to not think twice about going back. Now however, it's clear they're thinking long term and doing right by the customer so have now earned my business for any future tire needs. Now that's customer service - Thanks guys! read more

I got 4 new tires from this location last week. I The only reason I "loved" parting with 400 of my hard earned dollars is because I was able to easily schedule my appointment online, pick out the tires I wanted, and see a VERY CLEAR break down of price. By the time I rolled up for the appointment, all I had to do was check in. The guy who helped me could clearly tell I knew what was going on so he saved his sales pitch for the next guy! All in all it was just such an easy experience, it took less than 45 minutes! I felt compelled to leave a review so others will know to use their online services to save both time and money! P.S. - I did major price comparisons before buying the tires and their online deal beat even Costco. I haven't been to Discount Tire for 50,000 miles, except to replace one tire using their road damage warranty. So with 3 tires down to the wear bars, it was time. Manager Ritchie asked a few questions about how we use our SUV, then typed some information into their system. When he turned the screen to me, I was able to compare three different brands. The comparison included wear, ride, traction, performance etc. and ratings from Discount's customers and their own research. It was really helpful to have my choices narrowed down, and handy that the tire I chose was one that we had on an older SUV 10 years ago and wore very well. Then the best part, pricing. With trade-in credit on my newer tire, and some wear warranty credit on the other three, I walked out at $150 under budget. Discount Tire Stores have always been good to us. We have been repeating customers for the last 10 years. Today was no exception. 5:25PM: my wife gets home and tells me she got a low tire pressure warning. I checked the suspect tire and sure enough there's a nail in it. 5:29PM: called the Encinitas Discount Tire store and they said "bring it in and let's get it fixed. We close at 6PM." 5:35PM: Arrived and got checked in immediately by Ernesto. Super friendly and professional. 6:00PM: Osmar handed us the key fob. Nail removed, tire sealed, balanced. The guys even checked the tire pressure on the other three tires as well as ensuring they were torqued to spec. ALL for no charge. You guys are the best! read more

I called 15 minutes to closing in a panic, I was stuck in typical Del Mar races traffic. I had a screw in my rear passenger tire and no time for the next few days to get it taken care of. Ricardo told me to get there as soon as I could and he'd wait for me, that my safety was more important than him closing at exactly 6. Always the slowest of all Discount. Worse yet, they ripped me off. I had an appt for a tire rotation, I walked to lunch, was gone an hour only to return to my truck still sitting in the parking lot. When I asked why it hadn't been worked on I was told, "oh and appt just puts you first on the list" uh ya, I'm pretty sure that's not what appts are for. Another hour later it was done, keep in mind this was only a rotation, what's that like 10 minutes of work. At another "appt" I purhcased tires for my wifes car, I was charged for new valve stems, when I got home I realized they hadn't changed them but they sure charged me for them! I'll never go back. The discount in San Marcos is OK though. read more

So I've been coming here for years, never had an issue. In fact, I've always been hooked up with great deals when buying new tires. The last time I came in here REALLY pissed me off though. I had a little rock dug out of one of my tires, and I thought I might as well get my tires balanced and rotated while I was there. They told me it'd be about an hour wait, so I went over to Trader Joe's. Came back in half an hour and saw them pulling in my car, and then waited another hour. Finally, someone came to the lobby and told me that they hadn't done any work - they had broken off my back lugnuts on accident, and were giving me a piece of paper to take over to a shop in Solana Beach to get it fixed. To top it off, I called the shop in Solana Beach and they didn't have openings that day. They offered me an appointment a week out, but I had work - and I still haven't been able to go in with my schedule. Two questions: 1. If you are capable of breaking something in your shop, why aren't you capable of fixing it?? 2. Why didn't you tell me what happened before I waited for an hour and a half? Lugnuts are taken off first, not last. Super annoyed, and driving around feeling unsafe (if I get a flat on either of the back tires, it can't be switched out with a spare). It's gotten to the point where I'm going to have to take off work to go get this fixed - definitely a pain in the butt, since I live in Oceanside. Solana Beach isn't exactly around the corner. I'm going elsewhere next time I buy tires. read more

I went into this location with a tire that I purchased from another company that had an air bubble in It. The other company was going to charge me labor for another tire which I didn't feel was right since I already had the protection pack paid for. I came to this location and was helped by Joe and Chris. They were able to order me a tire that would hopefully arrive the next morning. When It did I received a call promptly at 730 am letting me know it was there. This was one of the best customer service experiences I've had and props to the team here for being so nice, knowledgeable, respectful and above all for taking care of me.
