First- The customer service while I was actually there was good. I got a flat from a nail. They changed the tires quickly. One star because they either A) Lost or, B) Stole the skateboard that was in the back of my car. I'm guessing that they took it out to put the spare tire back and forgot. When I called back, the manager said he asked his staff and they didn't have it. And that's that. Obviously I don't have any photographic proof of it, so I'm SOL. Booo. (and don't get your panties in a twist just yet...ill update my review if i come back and experience better). BUT...i came here the other day to have them patch my tire. My day started out with a flat and i just wanted to get the dang thing patched and be on my way and worry about getting a new tire next week. I came in and first the guy said he could def patch it if it was not on the side of the tire. I said, "perfect"!! bc it was in an okay place. Then the guy saw my car and prob thought i could afford a new tire instead! (granted..i will buy a new tire, just not that day). So he had me leave my car there for an hour to "patch" it. I came back to have him tell me they didn't patch it and they will have my new tire in, in a couple of days. aahhhhhh Just patch the dang tire already! read more

The guys here alway exceed my expectations. The secret? Be upfront with them. Is money an issue? Just let 'em know. Every time I've needed new tires, they've hooked me up. And it's not just because I'm a chick. My guy friends have told me they also get the same sweet treatment. Ok, yeah, I know, they're always so damn busy. Butchers who damaged two of my alloy wheels through shear carelessness. Unfortunately my wife took the car in and OK'ed the work, I can't prove they did it so I'm not going back to bitch as it would be a waste of time. But I know my car inside out, and I know that the damage to the wheels was not there before the tires were changed. It's easy to see what has happened, the tire fitter has removed/fitted a tire and his machine has come down on the rim and not just the tire, as the machine has turned it has gouged a groove . Photograph your wheels before you take your car to these cack handed fools, from every angle. Life shouldn't be so complicated but if people can't do such a simple job without screwing up then that's the way it has to be unfortunately. read more

This place WANTS your business. I purchased tires from Daniels Tire Service, but when we got a nail in the tire they wanted to charge $25 and needed the car for several hours to fix it. We got lucky in calling Discount Tire to compare prices. Guess how much Discount Tire charges to fix flats? Guess how much they charge to rotate your tires? Guess how much to check and fill up the air? If you guessed anything other than "not a damn thing", you were very wrong. I have gotten "free" services before, and you can usually expect a nasty attitude, up-selling and a nearly worthless product. I was literally ASTOUNDED at the service I got here. The guy who fixed the flat and rotated the tires insisted on walking me out to the car to go over everything they did(here it comes, the $500 of work my car "needs"). With a smile on his face like he was genuinely happy to have not made a dime off of me, he encouraged us to come back if we ever got another flat and to come in once a month and get our tire pressure adjusted. This bears repeating: the guy seemed actually happy to have helped us. HAPPY. To provide a FREE SERVICE. Just before driving away, I told the guy that they had just won some happy customers. My wife and I and anyone else who asks me will be Discount Tire people from now on. This is the best Discount Tire location hands down. I usually go to the Solana Beach one, but after having an awful experience with a dishonest manager there I never thought I would return to a Discount Tire again. I ended up at this location because I moved North and they honestly have the best prices. (If they don't, they will price match.) I was quoted a certain price on the phone which ended up being $10 higher in person which wasn't a big deal, but a little annoying since the price I was quoted was out the door for 2 tires. I came in here today for a rotation / balance. While I had an appointment at 1:30 and was told by the rep (Moises) I'd be out of here in 30-40 mins my vehicle was still sitting in the parking lot 40 mins later. I approached the same rep and brought up my concerns regarding the delay. He apologized and said that my vehicle should have been taken care of already. He went into the shop area and spoke with some people and my vehicle was immediately pulled into a stall. While I do appreciate everyone's friendliness and their prompt actions to address the delay it still doesn't make up for the fact that I had to wait 40 mins after my "appointment" for them to start the work. When I did come in they acted like they had no idea what I was talking about and told me they can't help me til 8am now. Rotate your tires here at your own risk. Given the fact that I purchased my tires with the separate warranty that provides free tire rotation. I will not be rotating my tires (even if it's free) anytime soon from having one of their staff members who was not careful enough resulting in a broken lug nut. I asked the front desk person, how that happened, and said it was from cross threading. Now I'm in the position to have this lug nut replaced that will take a few hours at an auto shop that will be comped by their management. When I asked the auto repair shop how often this happens with Discount Tires and broken lug nuts, sounds like it can happen as often as 4 times a day. That says something about this Discount Tire location, and someone's ability to rotate a tire properly. read more

the true measure of a business (like the true measure of a man) is how well they handle situations when everything goes horribly wrong. i had a flat less than a thousand miles after buying four new tires at the shop in ENCINITAS. on the way over i was fully prepared (like the little old lady in their commercials) to toss the damn thing thru their front window. fortunately i was with my mom so i managed to contain my knee-jerk reaction long enough to be civil. things started badly -- they diagnosed the cause for the sad, flat flat as a punctured sidewall caused by a road hazard -- that meant the damage was neither fixable or covered by the warranty. but, before i could race out to my TUNDRA and grab the tire and hurl it thru the large pane of glass that fronts their showroom, the guy behind the desk made me a fair and reasonable offer. so, while mom and i ate next door at SOUPLANTATION, they replaced the tire for a $40 charge for wear. i have been there twice, bought nine tires and have yet to toss one thru the front window. if you knew me, you'd understand that's saying something. read more

And for being the size of a damn roller skate, they're EXPENSIVE. FU, Toyota! Wow am I impressed. I took my car in today simply to get my tires rotated because they were showing wear. I didn't even realize that today would be busy and that I should have made an appointment, but despite the rush of people there, I was in and out at the exact time they predicted me my car should be done. The entire thing was free because I bought my tires there a couple years ago, and they have a ton of other free services too! I was also extremely impressed by the quality of employees working. They were all genuinely friendly and more than helpful. I am definitely going to come back here and I would honestly recommend coming here to my friends and family. All I can say is wow! I wished I owned this place, the sales and service is beyond excellent, the place was packed with people, but I did not feel like I was not being attended to. They matched a price from another tire place, and the sales guy went over all my options of tire types and prices. I did ask the salesman to save one tire to replace my old spare, and they forgot to do that. Once the error was acknowledged, the spare was swapped out in minutes. I don't even live near this place I was vacationing when one of my tires went bad, and opted to replace all four. I will drive 100 miles back, when's new tires wear out. read more

I love discount tire. Have used them for more years than I can tell you! I often wonder WHY anyone would use any other tire place! They truly take great care of you. I go in regularly for free tire rotations, and they check to make sure everything is good with my tires. Always before taking a longer road trip. I feel like they stand behind their product completely. I take the road hazard insurance, and have used it more times than I can tell you- with nails in tires, hitting things on the freeway or whatever- and you go in and get a brand new tire. I put a LOT of miles on my car, and I feel that it totally has paid off for me for the price they offer. I needed to change all of my tires before they cause me any problems. I was told that Discount Tire has the lowest prices around. I went there around 2 pm. At 2:35 they started to work on my car. And at 2:55 they were done. Depends on the day and time, you might have to wait between 30-60 minutes. I was satisfied with their service and how helpful they were. You know you get these "warranty" things all the time when you buy stuff and never actually benefit from them. Well, my husband got one on a set of tires he bought on his car and 2 weeks later we picked up a screw (not on purpose) in Vegas on MY car. We stopped into their Vegas location and because he had that protection on his tires they fixed mine for free. Last week I got a nail on my car (again not the one covered by their warranty) and they fixed that too for free. Loved it!! They told me 40 minutes but it took 30 which is great considering they weren't getting paid to fix that tire. I've been going there for years, the service is always great, usually pretty quick (though not always if they are busy) and you don't feel like they are trying to rob you which is saying a lot when you are a woman dealing with tires. Some people may not be a fan of Discount Tire but I've had nothing but good experiences regardless of which one I've been at regardless of AZ or CA. The tire light had come in and when we stopped to see if just needed air (it didn't look deflated at all) we noticed a nail in the tire. Bummer! We happened to be on our way to Hoen Porsche to pick up the man's car and asked them who they recommended. I won't mention names (can I tossed the sheet anyways) but when we called to ask how much they charge they rudely answered $25. I consulted Yelp to see where the nearest Discount was and twenty minutes later we were inside the store (man they looked busy) and had a laughing my tail off while getting my truck's info entered into the system (well, they had me on file of course, two cities ago!) We were told they needed about 45 minutes so we poked around the shopping center and went back around the 35 minute mark and they were backing my truck out as we walked up. They don't charge a fee for tire repair (they will try to sell you on the insurance for it but not pressure you) and they're nice to boot! They told me to come back and have the pressure checked and to double-check that the dealership is actually rotating them because he'd heard rumors that they said they do but don't...I'll make a mark on my tire next time it goes in to the dealer and find out for sure. I truly love this business and when I had perpetual tire issues with my former car they didn't mind me stopping by every few days until they found the problem and always took care of me - even when I got the tires elsewhere and had them delivered there. Wow! I really appreciate Discount Tire! I came in two weeks ago to have a puncture repaired, and was pleasantly surprised when they finished the repair, handed me the keys and said: "no charge! Puncture repairs, rotations and checks are always free at Discount Tire!" To which I replied incredulously: "you're kidding?!" Nope, the weren't. I drove home in a mixed state of disbelief and pleasant surprise that any company would offer such a service that they could easily charge customers for based simple necessity (its not like I was going to be able to drive around for long or very far on a flat) absolutely free of charge! Heck, I hadn't even purchased these tires from Discount Tire-- they're still the same ones that came on the car when I bought it. Unfortunately, last night my car's dashboard displayed the dreaded "tire under-inflated: check pressure of all four tires." Sigh. Well, maybe you get what you pay for, I thought. This morning I visited Discount Tire again, wondering if they would now be set up to pitch me new tires under the premise that this flat was unrepairable. I guess I'd find out soon enough. They pulled my car in and got to work. About 35 minutes later they called me to the front desk. Unfortunately, it was still the same puncture that was leaking, and while "they tried to repair it again, the patch wasn't holding"--oh man, I'm thinking, I know what this means.... "We're going to get you a new tire. We don't have the right one in stock, but we've already ordered it...should be here this afternoon." But don't worry, Jason tells me, they're putting a similar loaner tire back on my car right now so I can drive around in the mean-time. "We'll give you a call when your new tire gets here this afternoon..." Jason says, "are you available to come back later?" Yes, I was, but... and I'm sure I must be misunderstanding something here-- it almost sounds like they're planning on GIVING me a new tire. No, that can't be right. Thinking I must be losing it, I ask: what would the price on the new tire be? "Oh, we're just going to take care of it for you, Ma'am. The replacement is on us." Jason says smiling. Noticing the look of awe on my face, he continues: "like I was saying earlier, taking care of the customer is just part of our owner's philosophy. That's one of the many reasons I love working at Discount Tire!" Wow. I'm blown away. I hadn't bought the tires there, nor paid them for the repair, and now they were giving me a brand new tire because they couldn't fix the flat caused by some gigantic screw they had nothing to do with puncturing my tire?! This is unreal! Discount Tire not only just made my day, but made me appreciate yet again the value of superb customer service. If I had to guess, exemplary customer service like the kind I just experienced is probably the key contributing factor to why this company can afford to pay two employees on two separate days to work on my car for considerable amount of time absolutely free of charge to the customer, then GIVE me a free tire, and STILL manage to be profitable and experience growth within their industry. Customer loyalty and satisfaction reigns supreme once again. If I can help it, Discount Tire will be getting any and all of my tire-related business after this, and hopefully whomever else's I can recommend to them! Thanks Discount Tire. :) read more
