Last Friday , May 24th, I was in Flagstaff and noticed a nail in my tire and a slow leak. It was about 5pm and I called the Milton Road store. I said I wouldn't get there until about 5:30 and asked if they could fit me in. (they close at 6) The guy was, very friendly and said as long as I was there by 6 they would take a look at it. It was a Holiday weekend and he was not dismissive at all. He was like, "bring it in now". I got there about 5:35 and they were super busy but the guy who helped me was super nice and awesome. They checked my tire and it had a hole, and they fixed it within about 45 minutes. The guy who fixed it was cool and explained the tire hole. All 3 of the employees who I dealt with were awesome. Buying tires is seldom a trip I look forward to, but I've never had an issue at Discount Tire. I've always been leery of big chain stores taking advantage of those of us who aren't mechanics, but the technicians at Discount Tire are all honest and reliable. I purchased tires lately, and when I came to pick up my car I was told that the tires I had paid to be put on my car were actually out of stock, so the technicians used a more expensive, upgraded set of tires, with no extra cost to me. I was informed of rebates I can claim, and when I should come back into the store for a free tire rotation. Recommended. read more

This place puts walk-in's ahead of appointments! Happened on several occasions. This place has incompetent management that results in ridiculous wait times. The last time they even had me come in 15 minutes before my appointment time to wait 40 after the appointment time while they squeezed every walk in they could. While on a road trip and traveling just outside of Flagstaff on our way to ABQ, we encountered lovely potholes on the Interstate. Needless to say we had a tire problem. Wow! While travelling from the Grand Canyon down to Phoenix to get my son to the airport for a flight back East, got a huge hole in a tire. I tried to call on Monday afternoon at 5PM, as they close at 6PM. Waited almost 30 min. on hold to no avail. Showed up Tuesday morning at 7:55 without an appointment. My daughter went into the Milton location of Discount tire today to have her tires rotated and have one checked for a slow leak. She was told that the tires were at 2/32's and could not be serviced. The tires had 70k+ miles on them and they were 80k mile tires. I believe it was Ron and Nathan who helped her and they were able to get her into a new set of tire right away (she had an appointment for a rotation and were able to convert that into an installation which does take longer). The tire she purchased were on sale somewhere else and they were able to match the price with no problem. Also, as she is in AZ and I am in CA she wanted to ask me some questions and then asked if I could just call the store directly and talk to the people helping her and I did and they were friendly, helpful and were not bothered that I called while my daughter was there or that I had additional questions. I have been buying tires from Discount Tire in CA and AZ for almost 40-years and combined we have 7-cars and that is a lot of tires and experiences like this is why we continue to stay with and continually go back to Discount Tire. Wife was vacationing about 20 miles from Discount Tire on Milton in Flagstaff. OTW she texted me that our Acura was reporting low tire pressure on the left rear. I texted her Discount's location there and she got there about 1/2 hour before closing. These were original OEM tires from Acura with only ~23K miles on the set. Johnathon at Discount diagnosed a nail in the tire, assessed the best course of action, and found a very-lightly used tire to replace the leaking one. Charged her ZERO dollars for the tire, mount and balance. This is the kind of customer service that sets one company apart from the competition. I just purchased a used motorhome and was driving it cross-country when I noticed a low tire. I went to Camping World to have it checked and they broke off the valve and sent me Dow. The street to get it repaired. The nice people down the street couldn't get me in but referred me here. Everyone here was professional and friendly. They said it would take 1 1/2 hours and 1 1/4 hours later I'm on the road, and no charge!! Can't recommend this place enough!! read more

These guys did a great job getting my tire replaced on my Tesla. They had to special order it in from Phoenix and they got it there within 24 hours got it fixed so that I could get back home again. These guys are awesome. Came in today for a tire swap and called around to a few places. Hurst Firestone had a $10 off coupon any service and I inquired here at Discount Tire about price matching. Ryan and Steve were super professional and accommodating, no questions asked and helped out right away. This is the way business is done; so many places nowadays would give you the runaround and ask you so many questions that you'd never want to come back. These guys have kept my business and kept me from going to Hurst Firestone where, despite the low prices, the phone representative was less than satisfactory (to put politely). The price is right, and the guarantee is great. That's what saves discount. If I have a problem, anywhere in the US, they will fix my tires. Other than that, their service is terrible and the salesmen are even worse. They have lied to me trying to upsell me multiple times. Also, beware getting your tires aired up there. Son went to have a flat fixed on a brand new tire, that had gone flat in the driveway. They told him it had "sidewall damage" and sold him a tire that costs twice as much as previous tire. Not very happy with a place that will do that to college kids, or anyone really. read more

I didn't find that the price of the tires here were incredibly cheaper than competing business, but I will never shop anywhere else. Why? This may seem petty, but they fix tires for free. I slid on some ice in the treacherous Flagstaff weather, and hit a curb. As a result, my tire was leaking air rapidly, so i drove straight to Discount Tire. They said they could have it fixed in an hour, so I took off, grabbed a cup of coffee, and came back. When I went to pay, they handed me the keys and informed me it was free of charge. This wasn't because I had bought tires there before, or because they thought I was a cool guy, but rather because they do it for everyone! Bravo Discount, great business plan. read more

Also there are alot of stores/ resturants within walking distance (5 minutes to the major shopping center) so there is plenty to do while you are waiting for your tires to be fixed if you don't want to sit and wait. read more

I have gone to this discount many times and have always been pleased with the service. I am always greeted soon after I walk in the door, and they I feel like their mechanics are honest. I haven't noticed any outrageously expensive prices, and I like that they offer insurance for free tire replacements. Free rotations and air pressure checks are nothing to complain about either. I was visiting Flagstaff from Phoenix one weekend. I ended up with two flats from road debris and decided to replace all four because they were 8 years old and starting to crack in places. This location was very efficient and friendly. They saw me quickly and didn't cause too much delay in my vacation. On the other hand, once I got back home, one of the tires was flat. The discount tire near my house said the air was leaking out from the side of the tire because all the old tire wasn't cleaned off and so the new one wasn't installed properly. I was stuck at home over the recently holiday weekend because of this, which was even more annoying after finding out it was because they weren't installed properly to begin with. Further inspection revealed problems in some of the other tire installs as well. read more

I always get excellent service from discount tire. I went in about a week ago to get new tires on my car. I made an appointment for a Saturday morning at 9:am, got there about 10 minutes early and was on my way by 9:20. I couldn't believe it as I thought I would be in there for a minimum of an hour. The guys up front are always friendly and happy to help. There is no high pressure selling and they will match another store 's price. It's not intimidating as a female going in there as they don't try to sell something you don't want or need. Plus I like that they do tires only, so no trying to sell some other service that you don't need. This is probably the one place I don't mind taking my car. read more

WOW! The experience I had with Discount Tire was different than any I have had before. I am used to being hustled when I take my car to have anything done to it. Usually I have to wait a long time to get the job done too. I made an appointment thinking that it wouldn't help much and braced myself for the upcoming sales pressure. A very nice---smiling---man named Alex called on me just a couple minutes after my appointment time (the place was completely packed with people). He apologized for being a little late----wow. Then when he told me I needed two new tires he gave me no pressure choices and didn't make me feel crummy when I went with the lowest option!! The whole diagnosis part took about 7 minutes. He told me how long it would be to get it done---like 20ish minutes (right I thought). I sat down to wait and sure enough, I couldn't believe it, they were done when he said they would be. My experience was one of kind, friendly, fast service with these guys!! What a lovely thing to find. I will go nowhere else for tires from now on!!! Great staff and very helpful. My college daughter's car air pressure went on. My bad, I forgot to teach her about putting air in her car. I looked for a tire place and saw the reviews on this one. I'm so glad for this place. They made her feel like no big deal that she had no clue regarding her car. They remove the screw that was in her tire and back on the road she was.
