Well, another failure from Discount Tire. With a couple of bad post-sale experiences in another state, the only reason I gave them another shot here was because they were recommended by my mechanic shop (Christian Brothers) which has been beyond amazing with their service and honesty. Again the new tire process was good. Their prices were competitive (though $30 more than another reputable tire store) and their work was fast. The problem again occurred with their post-sale service. Within 48 hours one of the tires was almost flat while it was only parked in my garage, so I called and scheduled an appointment (ads claim 30% faster service with an appointment). Since the new tire install was completed within one hour of dropoff I decided to stay for a simple tire check). Over an hour later, I still hadn't seen my vehicle move from parking to a bay. Worse yet, I observed a vehicle I watched pull in 15 minutes after I arrived (and parked 1 car away from me) get pulled into a bay while mine stayed in the parking lot. When I asked the person managing service he assured me mine was next. When I reiterated that this tire was flat without any driving after I returned from their store he attempted to explain it was more likely a nail than something faulty with the tire install. I then explained that I had just waited longer for them to look at 1 tire than it took for them to install, balance, and mount 4 new tires. He again explained it was probably a nail. It took another 5-10 minutes for my vehicle to be pulled into a bay and then another 30 for it to be ready. The service manager then had the technician bring me the keys and explain that the problem was a faulty valve stem. No apology from the manager for either a long service wait or for a poor install of the new tires. I would think that checking valve stems for leakage is part of the installation process. The final slap in the face was when I showed up to Christian Brothers for an alignment and they asked if I had my tires installed at Discount. When I said yes, they asked me for the coupon that Discount is supposed to give customers for alignments at Christian Brothers. I never was offered one (which you think would have happened since I told them Christian Brothers referred me) nor was I offered any kind of discount for a future tire purchase from Discount Tires. Most quality shops quickly offer those when their service falls so incredibly short. Fortunately, Christian Brothers got me the alignment discount anyway. Frankly, without their consistently excellent service, I would wonder about Christian Brothers after being referred to what turned out to be a very dissatisfying experience with Discount Tires. Since they have NEVER let me down with their service, Christian Brothers still gets 6 out of 5 stars from me! read more

Not really happy with this place. They prioritize sales more than service. I purchased tires for $2,500 for a set of four with full warranty and they simply made me wait two hours just to fix the flat tire -where they fixed 4 more cars that came in after me as walk-ins. Promises made, promises not kept. If I had known that the service was this poor, I would have just kept driving down to other tire stores and purchased my tires there. Had an appointment for 9:30 this morning April 8. I was told it would be an hour to change my flat. Hour goes by, I get a phone call saying the tire they sold me isn't actually in the store and they are going to grab it so it will be another hour, cool. Over an hour later I hear nothing from them and walk back to the store and my truck is still lit front front with the spare still on. The location is close to food options so I decided to go grab lunch while I wait longer than I was told I should. I finish lunch with still no phone call. This is going on three hours past the time they told me it would be done. I go back to discount tire, ask for my keys to grab my apartment key so I can let my dog out as I thought this would be an hour ordeal, not three plus. I walk home in the cold and the rain. I missed a call and received a voicemail stating they have the tire and I will receive another call when it is done. 2:45 roles around with no call. So I call them and they Inform me my truck is ready to go. NO call from them, AFTER they told me they'd call me when it was done. Long story short, 9:30 ONE HOUR APPOINTMENT turns into 5 hour plus ordeal. For one tire. I will not be returning. read more

I had four new tires installed in February. I came in on Wednesday morning for a tire rotation. The technicians worked quickly and inspected my tires for damage. They reported no damage and informed me to come back in a few thousand miles for another rotation and inspection. On the way home my pressure alarms went off, and continued to do so after resetting. I called the location and the technician walked me through the proper process and I haven't had issues since. read more

Had a metal rod go through my rim and puncture my tire from inside. After procurement of a substitute rim I made an appointment with Discount Tire off of 160 in Tega Cay. Bryce got me checked in rather quickly and after going over some prices I purchased 2 tires. Bryce was very helpful, the store very clean with masks available to anyone who needed one. I made an appointment to avoid a long wait. I arrived at 12:20pm, 10 minutes before my scheduled appointment. The rep agent at the front desk said it would take no longer than 45 minutes to complete my tire rotation. I have been here for now 1 hour and 30 minutes and my tire rotation is not complete. I have seen customer walk in after me and leave before me. I have had to inquire about my car on 2 occasions while waiting. This is not a location I will revisit. read more

These guys do an incredible job. Yesterday while I was there, a man had his car in and was told that his tire was not repairable and that it was unsafe to put back on. He insisted they put it back on. 10 minutes later, the manager came out and said to the man that they were going to give him a tire because they could not in good conscience put his damaged tire back on. Yesterday, my wife noticed the "low tire pressure" light had come on on her 2015 Genesis. She called me, and I recommended that she contact The Ft. Mill, SC dealer where we purchased the car and take the car by for a tire repair on her way home. She did, as was told by the dealer that they did not repair tires any longer, and that we should take the car to a tire shop. They did not even offer to inspect the Tire, or add air to it. I called Discount Tire at Tega Cay, SC, and was told to bring the car on in. We did, and they went to work checking everything out. They removed the tire and wheel from the car, removed the tire from the wheel and did an inspection of the tire. They found a very small screw in it, which was causing the slow leak. The tire was repairable without issue. The staff at Discount Tire inspected all of the tires and gave us a good report, all within 45 minutes. The charge to us for this service, 'absolutely nothing'. They just asked that we come back when we needed new tires. That is 'excellent customer service', and we will definitely go back. As a side note, I have heard from others about the 'good will' that one gets at Discount Tire, and this experience has reinforced that. Now, when the car is at the dealership for its service, and the question of tires comes up, do you think we will consider them for new tires? No, we will not!!!!!! read more

I am a car enthusiast, and take my tires really seriously. I was hesitant to go to a place with discount in the name, but, read some positive reviews on car forum sites. Don't let the name fool you, discount doesn't mean unskilled techs. The shop uses best of breed tools like Hunter road force balancers and Coats mounting machines. The salesman was great. I was down to two choices and he gave me the educated advice I was looking for. He didn't try to push another product I wasn't interested in. The price was as good as TireRack. What's great is you get lifetime rotation and balancing on the tires. That is a great value add, especially since tire manufacturer warranties require frequent rotation at an authorized tire dealer to stay in warranty (every 4-10k miles). They have a 30 day satisfaction guarantee (nice) and their own warranties. The tech knew the right torque settings for my car - just using a torque wrench is rare for most lesser mechanics. Using one at the right setting is a good sign of skill. The tech also gave me the full details on the road force balancing. Nicely done. I'm one happy customer. Two areas for improvement: the waiting area could use WiFi so you can work while you wait, and wish they offered nitrogen as an option (nitrogen is hard to find though-most distributors for tire shops went out of business in the downturn). read more

My tire pressure was low and we called and made an appointment for today. We got there right on time and they took care of us right away even though they were busy. We grabbed some food right across from them while we waited and by the time we were done they were done. Best of all, they removed the nail and patched it for free. So I pulled out my phone and googled "awesome" and these people showed up (not really, but should be). They seemed very quick and honest. I WILL be coming here for new tires when the time comes. Even though I bought my tires there, I have had problems with these guys trying to get tires rotated or leaks repaired on 3 different occasions I make arrangements with them on the phone and a 45 minute wait turns into a 2 or 3 hour ordeal. This after having to deal with bored, uninterested service writers who make you feel like you are bothering them. I like the brand discount tire but this one in tega cay has a bunch of kids running it. Brought my car here to get the tires rotated and no one was here (customers) They were just standing around instead of working on my car. I own a car dealership up in Mooresville nc and spend a ton of money on tires up at that discount tire. This one needs help, training and showing here crew people what a sense of urgency is. The more cars you get in and out the more money you make. By the way 9 employees here and I have been here for an hour. Not coming back to this location. read more

I got home at 5:50 PM on Friday the day before we're going on vacation and my wife notices this "thing" in the sidewall of the tire on our Honda Odyssey and I called Discount Tire and the guy says, "We close at 6:00 PM, but bring it on in," and they replaced the tire on the spot under the road hazard warranty and our vacation was saved! The crazy thing is we had another foreign object in the road pop a tire on this same vehicle in December. Road hazard warranty = good investment for us. (Maybe it's all the construction and growth around Fort Mill right now.) Thanks a ton to Mike D. and the team at this location. Once at the shop, staff was friendly and knowledgeable. They helped me make final decision and actually recommended the less expensive of my two final options, so they weren't trying to upsell. We had a wonderful experience with Discount Tire. My mom had 3 nails in her tire and I contacted them at 5:45 pm (they close at 6 pm). They told me to bring the car over right away and immediately took care of it. Her tire couldn't be fixed and they didn't have the same brand in stock so rather than putting her spare on, they put a full sized tire on for her to drive safely and ordered her a new one. Been looking and browsing for tires for a while and called this location for options. Spoke to Danny Cleveland, and ended up going to discuss needs b/c of my non stock application. 'Cleveland' was great, educated me on a few things and helped guide me to select the best tires. When he have gave me a quote, I asked him to give me a bit to 'Shop' around for prices on my phone while he waited. He beat the the best price and I can't wait to get the tires in and installed. With a slow leak in my tire caused by an embedded screw, it was recommended that I contact Discount Tire. Recommended by a competitor by the way. With some anxiety about the leak and concerned about safety, costs and having to potentially replace a very expensive tire; May was able to ask several questions, diagnose the problem and find a way to accommodate me within their packed schedule. As I had used this location previously when it was Tire Kingdom, she was able to find my prior service and share with me exactly what I had purchased, including the Road Hazard warranty. Arrived at the location slightly early, but they were ready. Diego checked me in and set an expectation for the time required for the physical diagnosis and repair. They exceeded the time expectations set and fully described how the work was completed. As I waited for a short time, I was able to observe the phone work and in person work they performed with the other customers. Each person was treated with great courtesy and respect, options were clearly outlined, if there was a lack of understanding of technical issues the team ensured they kept educating until there was full comprehension, and every person walked away with a smile on their face.
