I recently purchased a used "Gold certified Toyota." Our local Toyota dealer did a poor job on the inspection. After speaking with customer service they refused to rotate my tires and said I'd have to pay the dealership to do so. My daughter contacted Discount Tire and confirmed that they offer complimentary rotation! Even if you did not purchase the tires from them. Was passing through town and had a possible slow leak on a tire. I arrived at around 8:03 am to have tire assessed. Was told it would be about an hour? Had to leave because I did not have the time. Earliest appointment would be 3:00 pm. I get it if I'm getting a set of new tires but I just need my tire checked out. Technician was nice. Place was clean. Well I haven't actually bought a tire but... I'd been pulling up to Walmart to get my tire pressure checked. But the last time I did, he didn't completely check them. I can't complain.... It's a free service and pulls them away from their regular work. But I went to Discount and (1) they have a marked lane for getting tires checked for air; (2) the first thing the young man said was, oh you're missing a cap, let me get one!; and (3) he was SO courteous! If you are buying tires, the customer service is awesome. If you get a nail in your tire, you get left on the back burner - wait is so long! When we call to make an appointment, they said no you don't need an appointment for that. Well, don't believe them!!! We have 7 vehicles and many trailers and we use this location a lot and San Antonio so we spend a lot of money at Discount Tire! If you are spending money at the moment, they are fantastic. But, you will have to wait and watch people that come in after you, go in and out quickly!! They need to put more effort into these vehicles that shouldn't just get worked into appointments (we always purchased certificates)!!!! We have to drive over an hour to Kerrville from where we live on top of the wait time at DT. Like I said, the customer service needs to improve or DON'T tell us not to make an appointment when we call the day prior! read more

We had a flat driving from Dallas to Hill Country Friday afternoon. Who knew no spare in new Cadillac cars. We found out the hard way, sitting on side of the road in 105 degree heat for over 2 hrs. I've been to this location almost 10 times over the last few years. I live in Austin, and go out of my way to make sure I stop at this location when I'm in Fredericksburg for the weekend! The staff is always polite, which can't be said for all Discount locations. They greet you right away, politely and genuinely. Each time I've come they never try to push a sale, and are frank about what it is that I legitimately do need. Today I was quickly greeted by Matt, who was polite and straight to the point. He gave me an estimate of one hour for the time it would take, and they provided the service in the 30 minutes! Time is money, and I respect that. Albert, who was working on my tires, noticed my tire pressure light was on. Something I was previously told (at an oil change place that I no longer frequent) would have to be replaced by the dealership! THANKFULLY, Albert let me know Discount Tire can replace it quickly and for a incredibly reasonable price. I will be back next week for that appointment. Thanks for the help too, Albert!
