These people are scammers. Tried to charge me for "inspecting" the tire even though I came in hours ago and told them to fix the clearly flat tire. Waited 6 hours for them when I was told it would take 1. Tried to oversell me on everything and the tire they "replaced" was worse than the flat tire I had. Didn't even last me two days. I truly appreciated that so I was not rushed with a decision. I have been to discount tire 2 times in less than 30 days. 1st time I went in to replace a tire, and walked out with a set of all 4 new, all-terrain tires. I did not anticipate spending that, but I LOVE-LOVE-LOVE my new treads. I expressed I was going out of town, they couldn't have installed them faster to send me on my way. Today I showed up with a nail the size of a pen, sticking out of my rear passenger. Once again, Ryan and Jason saved the day! Ryan even remembered where I went. We absolutely LOVE this location. We have been loyal customers to discount for years and years, and this store specifically for about 5. Troy, the old manager, was freaking awesome. The gentleman here are friendly prompt and helpful. I feel very comfortable here, and never question their suggestions/advice. I am relatively new to writing on yelp, but wish I had started years ago, especially to rate this place! Yesterday is what prompted me to write this though. I had taken my vehicle to the dealer for an oil change, and when they rotated my tires stated I had a nail in one that was not fixable, that it had to be replaced. I told them to note it and that I would take it to discount. I had the store order the tire I specifically wanted, and made an appointment to get it replaced. Upon arrival at discount, the gentleman greeted me at the bay and asked to take a look before checking me in. Within seconds he stated it was an easy repair, that the little nail had barely brushed the surface of the tire. He pulled the nail out, did a leak check and within 5 minutes we were on our way. As a young woman, I greatly appreciate their assistance and honestly. I was more than willing to pay the $150 for the new tire, but instead they were honest with me. My tires are not quite 2 years old, and they said it was a simple fix. I greatly appreciate every gentleman Ive encountered here, and will continue to praise them and refer to others. I first bought tires from this Dealer for my old Ford Explorer (aka The Batmobile) about 4 years ago and absolutely fell in love with this place. They're professional, friendly and get the job done. I grumbled a little bit about buying warranty certificates for all my tires and didn't fully appreciate that until I'd gotten a few flats, nails, and cuts. Those tires were replaced free, well except for the cost of buying new warranties @ $20 each. On a side note, while their waiting area is kinda small, it is air conditioned and they do offer free water and clean bathrooms. They also offer free tire gauges. I've returned, last year, to both replace and upgrade the tires on my Toyota Highlander (aka Wonder Woman). I opted to purchase the best tires for my van, which they didn't carry in stock. The day I went in to get the service, the manager informed me that they didn't have them and offered me an additional $30 off for waiting. I greatly appreciated them understanding that "TIME IS THE TRUE CURRENCY OF LIFE!" I was given a lift home, while Wonder Woman waited for new tires and someone came to pick me up when she was ready. This year, one of Wonder Woman's tires got punctured. Again, I returned for a replacement tire, since I'd bought warranties. Again, no problems and fast service. I've been a Discount Tire customer for years and love their service all around. This location did a great job of making sure I received the benefits of making an appointment online (because we all know sometimes making an appointment means absolutely nothing) and although all bays were full and the waiting room was bustling, I was in and out in about an hour. They also upgraded my tire selection and gave me a discounted price on those nicer tires to stay within my budget. 4 new tires later, I'm driving happy. read more

Service was great when they finally got to my vehicle. I set an appointment to have my car seen. Showed up on time and checked in. After over an hour of waiting, I decided to ask when I would be seen. The gentleman who checked me in walked off to inquire inside. Lacking honesty at this place. I brought my car in with a flat tire and they told me that it was because of a gummy plug (salesman was giggling with the mechanic before bringing me up to tell me this). They told me my only option was to buy a new tire and suggested replacing all four. I asked to look at the plug and noticed that there was a nail sticking completely through my tire that they didn't mention. When I mentioned the nail they said "oh yeah that's there too". I purchased this car in 2020 and have put 10k miles on it without having to fill up the tires once, and the plug was in there before I purchased the vehicle so the leak was clearly from the nail they failed to tell me about. I called around and was quickly told from a higher rated mom and pop shop that because of the location of the plug (in the center of the tread), it would be fine to patch the nail. Really sad that the men at this dealership chose to make a quick buck off of a single woman. If I were you I'd look at other local shops with more honesty and integrity. read more

Just about fed up with Discount Tire. Any day ANY time it's such a LONG wait! With appointment or not! I've been needing a rotation now for 2 months, but EVERY time I go in it's a 1.5-2hr wait... Last time I went to the location on 99ave/Lower buckeye rd (Avondale,Az), There was like 6 red shirts working the front, 2 techs working 2 of the like 5 or 6 bays, and 1 tech just doing courtesy air.. Hey red shirts!, go get dirty and show the customers how you EARNED those shirts!! 2 bays open 2 hour wait with only 5 customers in the lobby?? THAT'S ridiculous... I've been a long time Discount customer, I spend 2300+ every other year or so on my big tires for my truck, but this waiting is gonna turn my business, as well as not being open on Sundays! read more

I came in with a nail in my tire and they not only repaired it for free they replaced my other, dangerously bald tire with a loaner because I couldn't afford to buy new ones at that time. So we live pretty close to two discount tire stores and I can honestly say this one is by far the best store in Arizona! Andrew has helped me out the past couple times I have came in and is just always straight to the point and always has a great attitude! Even though the store is busy, and making an appointment to come in is ideal, he gets you taken care of regardless with a smile on his face! Was visiting Phoenix last month over the weekend for my sisters wedding. The rental car had gotten a flat tire on our way. We only had 45 minutes to get to the wedding & there was a long line at the Discount Tire. The manager was an all star & got us right in. They weren't able to save the tire but got the spare on for us so that we could still make it to the wedding on time. You guys saved the day!!! I went in to have a nail removed and was ready to pay 300 dollars for a new tire when Sam the assistant manager ask to look at the tire and check to see whether I really needed to purchase a new tire, it was awesome to hear him say no you don't need a new tire! He shared that good news, he also looked at the other tires measured the wear and told me when I would need to start thinking about a rotation and how far down the road for new tires in addition to what the cost would be Good for Sam and his customer service and exercising the integrity that companies should have. read more

They quoted and charged me for low end tires, and when they discovered that they didn't have 4 of them, bumped me up to mid grade tires at no extra charge. What a surprise when I picked up my car! When I wrote my first review of Discount Tire on E. Thomas Rd. I knew it was a stinging review. Also, that it was valid. As such I also sent my review to corporate headquarters. The same day I recieved a call from Ryan, the manager, of the E. Thomas Rd. store. His apology was warm and sincere. There were no buts or explaining away. He asked what my main concern was and I told him about the issue with the spare tire. He immediately said:"Bring it in, I'll look at your spare and, if needed, replace it free of charge." Turns out it was a donut tire but looked like it had been used several times. It was replaced for free. That was more then I expected but am quite pleased. The process was lengthy because the donut had to be ordered and because of my work schedule. Each time I went in tho I was given SUPERIOR customer service. When I went in to pick up the donut Jim helped me and even tho, by looking at my invoice, he prolly knew who I was, he was courteous and treated me like john q customer. I appreciated that. I am giving Discount Tire on E. Thomas Rd. 5 stars because my issues were resolved with grace and dignity, on both sides, intact. But more because I felt like my concerns had been heard. Choose a different location. I have been a discount tire customer for years. The service at this store is not up to par. I bought 6 tires this weekend...four for one car and two for another. Sales person gave me an expensive option first even though I asked for a moderate option. Told me my tires would be done in an hour. They were done in two hours. I wouldn't have minded waiting two hours on a Saturday to get my tires done, I just would have liked to have been given a more realistic estimate. The worst part however, was getting into my car later and seeing my tire light come on. I went to the shop at Shea and Scottsdale where I normally go. The Phoenix shop had apparently rotated the tires without checking the air pressure. The two front tires were 10 pounds low and the two new ones were too high. I called this Phoenix shop to let them know my trouble. They were nice enough and offered an apology but nothing more. I will drive to Scottsdale from now on for my tires. I'd advise you drive by this Discount Tire store and find another that's up to par. read more

Great customer service! I needed a flat tire repaired and went in without an appointment. They were able to repair it in about and hour while I waited. All of the staff is super friendly. They even have one person who is responsible for checking you out when you leave. Oh, and they repaired my tire for FREE! How can you beat that?! read more
